Jokkis Finnish Folk RacIng: A Race For Anyone With Wheels!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 жов 2024
- For four days each summer, the Finnish town of Pello hosts one of the
whackiest motorsport events around. Over 750 drivers go head to head in the
Jokkis, a "race what you bring" event, open to all. Where the clunkier the
car, the better! Leading up to the race, competitors work feverishly to convert junk into
racing gold! We follow Master Painter Jukka Enbuska, as he prepares for the event.

Building cars from early age, I always hated not going to these kinds of events. I'll make next year to the race!
Wreckfest 🔥🔥🔥
There is an important detail in the rules: All competing cars must be put on sale after each race, with a fixed price of 1500 eur.
Today its 2000€
why?
@@JohnDoe-ph6if So that the price of cars dont skyrocket and everyone can afford them. It's bit more complicated than that and you can protect your car with "shields" that you can buy, but the main rule is that all cars are for sale (owner can remove the seat and some other safety equipment)
@@HerraPlaguvery interesting! so there must be many cases where there's basically car rotation among drivers? do teams normally spend more money than 2000 on modifying?
@@JohnDoe-ph6if yes thats the idea so that the class is reachable for everyone. Some people put lot of money in cars +10000€ and there is risk that you lose the car. There is lottery system in the sales and you can buy lottery ticket for your own car and those "shield tickets" trying to protect that you dont lose the car, but at some point the odds are against you anyway. Anyone who has the license to race can buy those lottery tickets.
Sutch a great concept
And great fun
@@DWREV it should be done also outside Finland! I would love to do it!
why you have to dub over like that 0:47 so annoying
Well, we do realize that many would prefer we use subtitles in situations like that, but we have to dub those soundbites in order to make them understandable to viewers with vision impairments.
@@DWREV well you could use subtitles and finnish person its funny sometimes when american show get released mostly happens wit docs first they have american dubbing over and on top of than finnish subs
here it just gets bit confusing when i can hear the finish speech under the dubbing of english and since im other is my native language and other is strong secondary language is gets wierdly mixed up and causes bit of a confusion
I totally understand what you mean. But unfortunately that's the way it has to be I'm afraid. @@vjollila96
