Early Scorpions with Uli Jon Roth on guitar is some of the best music ever recorded, Uli is a master guitar wizard, very under rated but those who know real guitar playing and where it all came from know.
This is one of the few songs that never fails to bring tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.
The lyrics based on a poem from Monika Dannemann, the last fiance of Jimi Hendrix, he died in her appartment. She wrote as an attempt to come to term with Jimis death.
It's really unfortunate these guys didn't get any radio airplay until later on in America. Early Scorpions when Uli was ripping on lead guitar was just incredible stuff. Every song on the live Tokyo Tapes was even better than the studio versions. That was this bands swansong. After Blackout their stage shows became choreographed and that kind of ended it for me but damned if early Scorps weren't the bomb!
Circa 1978, off the "Taken by Force" album. One of the best ballads ever. Last release featuring Guitarist Uli Roth, 1st release featuring Herman Rareball (Drums).
Kudos for taking a chance on this era of the Scorpions, with Uli Roth on incredible lead guitar, great choice by your viewer. This was an inspired pick!

I remember buying the first Scorpions record, Lonesome Crow, in 1970, with a 16 year old Michael Schenker (UFO/MSG) on blazing lead, have been a fan Ever since. First time seeing them live was when they opened for Rainbow in the 70s. Fun times seeing them, always a great live show. Try Animal Magnetism and Lovedrive, amazing tunes and Albums. Enjoy! 🎸
