In this video Paul Andersen explains how equilibrium is achieved in a reversible reaction. When the rate of the forward reaction is equal to the rate of the reverse reaction the system is at equilibrium. Graphical analysis of equilibrium is included along with a walkthrough of several calculations.

The analogy at the start of the video is so freakin cool
Whoo hoo my main man got this topic up on his channel, I used u last year for both bio and chem and I thought u wouldn't have this topic up... imagine my relief!.. Listen to me carefully, U deserve the noble prize of some kind, u are a good man! and don't let no one tell u different btw the way thanks to ur bio videos I got an A+ and since I discovered you chem videos really really late( like final exam late) I passed with a C
Yeah! He is awesome!
is u black main girl
Best equilibrium video on UA-cam. Thank you!
For those who are confused,
He did a tiny mistake at 8:12 plugging the wrong value for Concentration of H2O.
And also another in the second table.
The real value of [H2O ]------------------- 0.038M
The real value of K -------------------------- 49.56

Boze mann you are The BOSS man
Simple and unselfishly explained. Thank you Mr.Bozeman !
Omg. Best video on equilibrium ever. Thank you so much. you just saved my life :)
Your explanations and examples are so, so, so helpful! I cannot begin to thank you for all that I've learned from you! Chemistry is not my favorite course, but you make it much more manageable!
First vid to actually make sense
After 1 hour of lecture... .i slept and when i was awake i was like it is the boring stuff to learn ever. But this 12 minute masterpiece changed everything and in fact now i have a crush on chemistry🥰🥰🥰🤩 you are really awesome. All the best for your future endeavors.
you explain everything so well! its a lot easier now than it was in class thank you so much you're great!
my teacher used this video. Very helpful, I really struggled with these problems but I think I understand a little bit better now.
DUDE! Best Chemistry lesson, you're easy to learn from!
In the second Ice table the red box (the product) it's 2HI not N2!!! But it's ok it was very helpful thank u!!!
You teach me what I need for a test in a few videos at least 10 times faster that what I learn in 2 weeks of class!
you explain things so well.. thank you for the upload..
You have been very helpful for me Mr Paul Anderson. You have solved most of my doubts. Thank you very much.
Another awesome video Bozeman!
Thank you so much for this video!! It helped me a LOT
Yes, thank you so much! I was so confused with those ICE type problems and I have a test on them in a couple days!
Extremely Helpful!
Thanks a lot!, Sir
That was awesome! Cheers from Brazil!
Thank you so much! I was so confused in Chemistry class in this unit and I desperately looked online for explanation. Now I got it and I will ace my next test! (hopefully)
i don't know if you still check commens but i just wanna let you know that you're the best. hands down you gained my respect ❤❤
The video illustration, directly solves my 5 years of wondering
This was soooo helpful THANK YOU!!!!
I LOVE YOU. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You. Are my chemistry hero that makes sense in 8 to 12 minutes of what an hour of text reading leaves me totally confused. GOD BLESS YOU!
I love this channel
Well explained. Great upload!
I'm From colombia and I'm Understanding you more than my teacher
So
So wut
thanks for all the great videos. you are just wonderful.
Thanks! You saved my life!
superb demonstration sir
I love these videos! Could you make some with more example problems such as 3 or 4 per concept?
AMAZING VIDEO...Thank you sooooo much.
Hello Mr. Anderson! I used all of your AP Biology videos last year in AP Bio, and now this year in AP Chem. Are going to do a similar overall review video for the AP test like the one you did last year? It would be greatly appreciated if you do. Thank you so much for these videos.
Thank you Pr.
Thanks Paul!
You Sir , you are a Legend
wow. a wonderful demonstration. i don't know how can i thnak you. thank you
Great demo I was under the impression this video was about balance . The math fantastic
1:26 LOL THAT WAS SO FUNNY! But anyways , thank you for posting this video. I learned a lot !
It was very helpful!...even though there were a couple mistakes :)
So good, thank you.
thank you that was really helpful......
Sir i am from 10th standard but your explanation is very nice so i understood almost everything. Thanks from India
you are just awsome !!
I'm From iraq and I'm Understanding you more than my teacher ! xD
hamode mu Hey bro i am from India can we be friends?
I'm also from Iraq and yes he is way more better than our teachers.
I’m from Iraq too living in USA hhhhhh
Very good!
oh thank you you're amazing ✊💕
thanK you ,i figured it out and understood it thanks
How do u sum 4hrs of classes in 12 minutes.... I love this guy
1:28 when you've spoken so much that you can't get the word out
Wouldn't the different cup sizes affect the equilibrium? What are the different cup sizes a representation of?
Shout out to tha Boze for pouring blue water back and forth for ages to demonstrate a point
Very interesting...
I have a Question from were did we get the (N2) and (NO) at 10:34 is the equation doesn't even Nitrogen gas in it? Please answer to my comment.
For the equilibrium of H20 is it suppose to be 0.138 or 0.038?
great .. could u also mention the reference books/ material for these concepts?
im from afganisthan kabul and these videos help alot...ps sorry for my engalishhheee
And once again my test score was saved by Bozeman!
hey, how did you calculate the equilibrium (M) value for N2, H2 and NH3? 7:07
very helpful
APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at 7:20 how did you arrive at the equilibrium (M) values to plug into the equation?
In the first ICE table, shouldn't the equilibrium [H20] be 0.038 instead of 0.138?
Don't you dare tell me that 0+0.038=0.138 D:
Kung Fu Master Skeletor Yeah i saw that too i was so confused
Kung Fu Master Skeletor How did you get the equilibrium of H20? Is it a given?
Yes, it should be 0.038. NO went from 0.100 to 0.062 (a loss of 0.038 - same for the Hydrogen) and since the NO, Hydrogen and H2O all have the same coefficients, they should have the same magnitude of change (but adding for the water since its a product).
I UNDERSTOOD THE CONCEPT OF EQUILIBRIUM WITHIN THE FIRST MINUTE thanks to your water experiment. holy-- wow. thank you. thank you so much~~~~
I LOVE U MIKE>>>>I LOVE U
lol 1:27 he said "is we can kdijigjdgd"
I am really confused that if we increase temperature would it favour reverse or forward reaction
Thanks
When you say K=0.042 what does that mean exactly? conceptually? how do we use it in, say, experiments?
great
I get everything on the ICE table on this video and the last... except.. is there a typo on the Equilibrium (M) part where it says ".138" and yet ".038" is what is being used in the "Change" column?
the one that keeps everything positive. so look at your ice table and how x is effected by each of the two values. if one of the values gives you a negative amount than it is unusable.
What if we are not given a k value and we're just told you have 0.2M h2 and 0.5M I2 -- using your reaction above how would we find Kc?
thankssssss
6:15 should be cC+dD?
The ''product'' and ''reactant'' in your reaction quotient formula should switch places at 1:17 otherwise you would get K=Q
Great videos. that stutter at 1:27 though
8:28, shouldn't the equilibrium value for H20 be 0.038, not 0.138?
how do you know the molarity without the volume of the solution?
What is with the dissonant guitar riff at the beginning
hi, the table of reaction H2+I2-------2HI is wrong~
Chemical formulas in the table are wrong lol! But anyway your videos saved me from listening to boring lecturers. TYVM
How does that equal .666 at 11:29? I believe him that it does, I just have no idea how to calculate that value...
multiply each side by (1-x). Then add 4x to each side, then divide each side by 6.
At 8:17 the equilibrium for the H2O should be 0.038 instead of 0.138.
how did u get the numbers of molarity for n2 , h2 and nh3??? @ 7:05?
I'm guessing that he just made them up so that he can use it in the example.
OK cheers.
Mr. Bozeman,Thanks for the good job. However, can you remove subtitles from on your screen. I am unable to see lot of what's on the bottom of your screen.
+Good Luch You have control of the subtitles
I saw this comment and I was just like *Face Palm*
HEY SARANG
8:55 H2 and H20 equilibrium numbers are off
what's going on with these ice tables...
9:00
downloaded this video tutorial sir
Proof that quadratic equations are of the devil ...
Can you me real life example of chemical equilibrium please and save me ?
Sir i would like to contact you personally for some help thanks if you contact me.
ec fresh
How did you solve for x? I got lost on how you got .666
🚨🆘Emergency question for my exam tomorrow: why did he ask for Q in the initial and K in the change, why not K for both? 😬
Arjun Kumar
I’m so gonna fail my exam tomorrow:(
