I saw this at a packed house at the Ziegfeld in New York, I was maybe 17 years old.. The place was one big scream and cheer when the song ended. And then outside on W 54 st.. The line for the next show went down to 6th av and around the corner ! There was some guy on a megaphone saying something like the next show was sold out, tickets for the late show on sale soon, meantime car horns are blowing, people all over the place..such a thrilling New York moment !
The choir are all meant to be students - they all look like suburban moms and dads. I was 15-when this movie came out - guess we looked older back then.
The Body Electric song was possibly inspired by the Twilight episode about an AI/Droid grandmother who came to help raise some orphaned children after their mom died. I saw it once and it became a favorite episode of mine along with the song. The sound inspired me to return to education and I never looked back.
I will NEVER understand why THIS SONG did not become WILDLY POPULAR - the melodies are so beautiful ♥♥♥♥
The lyrics are strange
@@Markstubation01 you mean it's poetry instead of wah-wah, I love ya, etc
@@enriquesanchez2001 it's so hippie dippie, literally makes no sense.I swear the authors dropped acid of something when writing the song.
@@Markstubation01 Well, you have a right to your own view of the words.
Maybe you didn’t live during this time or maybe it was area based but where/when I grew up it WAS wildly popular.
It's still one of the most epic songs ever composed for a movie.
There was a time....I was young and hungry and the people closest to you wanted you to win.....I thought I would be this young for ever
Yes, thank you.
Saw the Movie when it was released, I still come back to this site and watch the video; and I still tear up …

This song still gives me chills when I listen to it. Loved this movie then and still do today.

Touches me. And I used to know one of the students singing! Forever young ❤
Still a favorite after many years!

Wow, just remembering. I really enjoyed this.
Fantastic!
It’s still is crazy that Montgomery became Rocket Romano
Just watched the season 9 premiere where the tail rotor cut his arm off.
I agree
Très jolie melodie
We were v lucky
so that's where the song came from off of the life and time of Jennifer Lee
I am watching the Twilight Zone and thought I remembered this song.
