How cool. I got a few pawpaw from Bob Wells also. I also ordered 9 more varieties of pawpaws from Hidden Springs Nursery that will be shipped end of this year. Like you, I haven't had a taste of pawpaw, but I have eaten Cherrimoya, Soursop - pawpaw cutup inside look like cherrimoya and soursops and I also detect the strong scent of pawpaw leaves that have similar scents to cherrimoya's and Soutsop leaves & bark.

Awesome, please share videos of your orchard when you get them planted in ground.

Well itll be a couple years before I do. I'm only able to grow in containers and plan on videoing the whole thing. I've been trading and acquiring much larger pots for the future. Some trees seem to do better with root pruning some don't like it.
I'm also heavily fertilizing and pruning trying to keep trees small and easy to pick.

I’ve kept the younger pawpaws in pots so I don’t have to shade them and simply position them safely from afternoon Texas sun. It might have hindered their growth but at least they look healthier than my native in ground.

We have lots growing in our woods in Northern Indiana. I'll try to find out the variety. They taste like a banana mixed with a bit of menthol taste. Weird but good. Really cool big leaves in the fall. They look awesom, almost tropical. They don't look like a typical native Indiana tree. But I think they are.

I’m really looking forward to tasting any Pawpaw fruit. It might take me a few more years with my plants. It’s so awesome that they grow wild in your area!

@@TreehouseVineyard yeah cool. If you're ever near Michigan city Indiana in late September early October. Let me know I'll show the big patch of them you can take all you want. We just shake the tree and they fall out when there ripe. I also think I've seen them in national parks in the dunes near Lake Michigan. I'll keep my eyes open cuz now I'm interested in how wide spread they are here.

Do you like the taste of the seedless Che?

@@curtwsp Actually Che and Paw Paws are the only plants we have planted on the property that are still too young to bear fruit. I have not seen any of them also in local farmers market so I haven’t tried them yet but based on videos I’ve seen they should be delicious!
