EDIT2: Ah, editing at night isn't that great it seems, the drivers used with the 4080 Super are the "551.86" not "571.86" of course.
EDIT: There's a typo on the RTX 4080 Super price on the specifications part! It's around $1130, not $799 obviously! With the RX 7900XTX being $899.
Hope you guys enjoy this video, and let me know what you think about these results and my chart :D

Here it's around 100 to 300 more depending on the models. If i were to make a purchase right now i'd definitely go for Nvidia, the tech that you can use with those cards is clearly superior to anything AMD has on offer currently. DLSS and better ray tracing performance may not be worth the higher cost to everyone though, depending on the games they play.

US consumer here. I bought the 7900 XT for 1440p (paired with 7800X3D). I like RT, sure, but the only tier I like it at *is* the 4080, since most cards under it seemed kinda disappointing to me for the money, and the 4080 variants were all $500 USD more than my 7900 XT, and I didn't feel the 7900 XTX would really serve my interests/needs at ~$200 more (and the power consumption was a concern at that level).
My 7900 XT (Sapphire Pulse) was $700, and the cheapest 4080s (any variant/tier) available were over $1200 at the time of purchase. I know the XTX is supposed to be its competition, but that was around $910, too, since I checked. Still a big price jump in the US to get what I'd want out of Nvidia's features.
If you're in a place where Nvidia is actually cheaper, go for it. You really can't go wrong with either company, and I'm not a loyalist. I've owned 3dfx, ATI, AMD, and Nvidia. One odd thing to me is the overwhelming criticism of AMD drivers. Besides a rare issue on the cutting edge, I've never had issues. Though, tuning through Nvidia Profile Inspector at a technical level always seemed easier to me for those that like to tailor-make their settings profiles for various games. I had a lot of success with that in Vindictus (custom Source engine variant) back in the day.

AMD drivers issues are so true as NVIDIA hw or sw problems before expected end of life... it all depends if you get the correct jumps when changing from one make to other, when we could... I've lost real money because AMD's non-sensical issues in a show demo in front of potential clients... total nightmare... the same as having to upgrade a PC because Nvidia drivers started to crash a fully working system after an update... mix and match parts and solve the "issue" for years... RX 6000 was a little too epxensive but much better deal than any RTX 30, 20 or GTX 10... now is just RTX 40 is so much better than RX 7000 only problem being as you say prices and availability... but also driver and source code optimization, to the point NVIDIA has stopped to update some games to free man power to work at most profitable AI tasks and some months after go back to let's fix some new games bugs and optimization and launch some features... is the achiles point of AMD, the sw side, not that it is "bad" or "bad" always, but a lot of times you realize (or can show it yourself with your own code) that AMD products had so much more potential of runing faster and better than they do at day 0 of launch or even some years after... good thing they keep support for years going on and you'll be able to retire the hw when it is truly obsolete or superseeded... but time to time it happens... they manage to survive but they can be deceiving like all the others intel, nvidia, apple,...

4070 Super customer here. RT performance is tremendous with DLSS. I thought I wouldn’t want to use DLSS but that’s because FSR on my previous card sucked. DLSS is not only usable, it’s stupid not to use it. You get a performance uplift of 30-50% without sacrificing visual quality. Not to mention that in Battlefield V and a couple of other games I don’t need DLSS and still get 150 FPS at RT High. My performance with RT in some games is so high that instead of DLSS I use DLAA. DLAA is the new TXAA and some games don’t offer DXAA as DLAA is better at increasing sharpness. And guess what…. AMD cards can’t use DLAA.

@@joniqst It's a pretty solid performance difference. Going from a 6950xt which sat between a 3090 and 3090ti is around a 50% increase going to a 7900xtx. I've got both a 6950xt and a 7900xtx, both sapphire nitro, and it's fair to say that the 7900 gets about the same fps or a bit higher native than the 6950xt gets at the same resolution using FSR, this is the most noticeable change between them, the 7900xtx uses about the same or slightly less power than the 6950xt while having a much beefier cooler so it's dead silent too, which is also nice.
Edit, the 24gb of vram is also nice, if I leave blender open in the background, some games would run my 16gb of vram out and cause issues, with 24gb I can run blender and any game, even at 4k without issues.

As someone who has been team green all my life and tried out the 7900 XTX for several months now but I'm going to swap out for an RTX 4080 Super. Let me make this simple for people who's deciding which 1 to get. If you play games just for max FPS and don't care about Ray Tracing but also will be fine with using Adrenaline software tool from AMD go with that card there is no downside and you get just as good or better FPS in some situations. If you want to use Ray Tracing at all like in Soul games or play games that can take advantage of DLSS I would go with the 4080 super and that's exactly why I'm switching I use to not care about Ray Tracing because I mostly played competitive games and just wanted max FPS but now I'm getting into other games that I want to look nicer and turn it on like for example Elden Ring but I notice I get hard frame drops below 60 FPS when I use it with 7900 XTX plus I'm not a fan of Adrenaline software although it looks nice I just can't bother with it I tried on several occasion but it made the game feel worse so I just leave everything on default with custom fan curves so my fans stay on with the card. I feel like Nvidia has a lot better optimization in there Nvidia Control Panel. I also didn't like hearing that AMD would be dropping from making high-end GPUs now which leaves me to believe that sometime in the future I won't be getting as good updates geared towards high end graphics but let's hope that's not the case.
If you do go with 7900 XTX I highly suggest 'XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX' I've had no issues with the card and it preforms amazing but again I just want to start getting into other games that use Ray Tracing and team red just can't handle it but other than that I've had zero crashes or any issues with the card and my FPS is always solid.

In most games I slow down my XTX a bit, thus making it use less power. As far as ray tracing is concerned, my guess would be that in a couple years time all present day cards will not be enough and both Nvidia and AMD will get much better ray tracing performance. So buying a 4080 for ray tracing now, may not be a good investment. And FSR vs DLSS, well, for me personally it does not matter because the XTX runs everything I want it to just fine without an upscaler, which is a reason to buy a card like that. So when FSR gets better maybe in the future it will be useful for the XTX, but for now it is kind of irrelevant. Congratulation on the growth of your channel btw. :-)

Similar rasterization means the 7900 XTX wins out for me. Yes, the 4080 Super is more power efficient, better upscaling and has better RT, but while the efficiency would be nice, I still haven't seen a game to make me care about RT outside of CP2077 and Path Tracing, and with cards this powerful I don't need upscaling at 3440x1440. Where the 7900 XTX wins out is a better software experience, lower price for the same performance, and much more RAM in case I need it at some point. (lots of texture mods running in CP2077 for instance). I also would hate to have to go back to using 3rd party software to undervolt and tune my GPU, as well as losing my beloved Radeon Chill, which helps a great deal in mitigating the lesser power efficiency.

All influencers don't stress that ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ACTUALLY PLAY.
Most common games, competitive shooters and e-sports, don't give a crap about RT, SS/SR and frame generation/fake frames.
Thus, if you want FpS to frag opponents, you go AMD.
On top of that, games in which you can add all the above mentioned features are usually SLOW PACED adventures and/or RPGs, thus you can comfortably enable them on an AMD card and enjoy those games. Additionally, a normal person doesn't magnify 100x and slow down 500x to spot marginal differences in image quality.
Go AMD, save money, and invest them to buy some other better components.
Finally, I still haven't seen Nvidia MCM cards. And don't forget Nvidia secured a better production node at TSMC (that YOU pay).

I was between a 4070 Super and 7900 XTX as it’s only $100 more than the 4070 Super for me… I got the 4070 Super first as I wanted to give it a shot for RT performance. I am honestly very surprised. I am running Battlefield V with RT at 150 FPS and high 1% lows at High settings. If I add DLSS I am over 200 so I run DLAA to sharpen instead at a cost of 30 FPS. It looks lovely. In campaigns I run Frame Gen to get back to 200 FPS with 15ms latency but I get 6ms latency without it in multiplayer… WITH RAY TRACING! And then the big surprise was Cyberpunk 2022. I thought maybe I could run medium with RT on high but definitely not path tracing… I was wrong. I can run path traced RT at high with DLSS and Frame Gen at 90 FPS with 99% lows above 60. It’s actually ridiculously playable. I know so,e people don’t care about RT, I just don’t know why. I think people who feel that way haven’t had enough seat time with an RT experience. Path tracing particularly makes a game like 2077 make sense. It’s so busy graphically that having good lighting and reflections helps the realism immensely.

Also, I didn't quite like the high-power draw of the XTX. and with me losing the silicon lottery that didn't help as I then couldn't tame that power draw much in the ways on undervolting without limiting the power limit and losing to much in terms of performance lol. Good Video. My feelings after trying both of these cards is the software / upscaler / RT is where the meaningful differences are. Put differently, the XTX gives you 80 more frames in one of it's biggest wins; but that's in a situation where the 4080 is already at 200FPS; you're not going to be able to tell the difference between 200 and 300 FPS without a frame counter in the corner.
However the difference between DLSS vs FSR, AMD Noise suppression vs Nvidia Broadcast and RT performance between the two cards is immediately noticeable and to the point where on the XTX the experience is heavily compromised in comparison; you can't find a situation in which the opposite is true. DLSS being the most relevant of those 3 by far with upscaling being included in nearly everything that comes out now.
I know this comes across as a nvidia fanboy; but I tried AMD's flagship first and **really** wanted to keep the XTX nitro+, I went through all sorts of mental justifications to try keeping it (so pretty). I just don't think **At this tier of GPU** saving 200 is worth the compromises given most people are keeping these cards for 3ish years.

I can definitely notice an 80fps difference. 30 to 60 to 90 to 120 to 160-180 to 240 to 320 are stages I can identify. Though this is because I work on screens with all of these. It's not impossible. It's just what you're used to. 10 years ago it was normal for the average person to say that you can't notice 60. A big chunk of gamers say 60+ is unnoticeable. But I would argue that these stages are very noticeable. The difference in responsiveness and animation fluidity is massive.

@@KonglomeratYT I have not said anything about 60+ or 30-60 fps. I made a very specific claim that after a certain FPS there's not much difference unless you're talking like 240hz vs 540hz, in the super niche scenario's that you can actually maintain that kind of FPS, and be good enough to gain an advantage.
You can't expect anyone to buy the idea that you can feel the difference between 160 and 180FPS...do you? You're talking about 0.75ms. 240 and 320 - 1.14ms. No you cannot, just stop my guy.

im in pretty much a similar boat, got the 7900XT and in general performance it's pretty good and with good overclocking it gets to 4080/xtx with stock clocks in rasterization, but you do notice the difference in toolset, ended up swapping it for a 4070ti super, since it no longer had the 12gb vram problem as the 4070ti and is generally faster than it, price here is the same for both, 70ti super and XT, besides the jump to stuff like the xtx and 4080super isn't big enough to justify 200-400usd more for 10-15% extra performance that i can get back overclocking.
That and RDNA3 gave me a lot of headaches compared to polaris or rdna2 combined, i love amd and that they are trying to compete and are doing a decent job at it, but it shows in toolset and stability for a lot of tasks, especially ones that don't have support or are simply not up to par, to date the problem of having recording enabled and it crashing your system still hasn't been fully fixed on RDNA3.
People need to adopt the mindset of buying products, not brands, no loyalty, not bootlicking, these are still just pc components, amd or nvidia, bootlicking amd is still as bad as nvidia, buy the component that does the job and you are happy with.

Path tracing max Cyberpunk 2077 look so much better, and the reflections are super mind blowing. The 4080 super in the USA only costs a little more, and gives you so much more. If AMD wants to compete this gen they need to drop prices a lot more. The 7900 XTX's power consumption is also pretty concerning, on my rig with a i7-14700f (non K), I only consume a little more than 500watts with my monitor, speakers and computer running cyberpunk 2077. 6000 vs 3000 series were using same watts for the same performance ... they were both on the same node
7000 vs 4000 series is a small difference in watts, because AMD is on a 6nm for the packaging and 5nm for the core, so it does an extra 50W (in lower categories) to 100W in higher categories. It's still not double the wattage ... doesn't really matter.
