Right out of the box the car steered hard to the LEFT. I didn't have any tools with to re-adjust the steering horn. I turned off the TSM to adjust the steering trim. With the steering trim set almost all the way to the right we were able to get the car to go straight with our hand off the wheel. The tire blowing apart was my fault. The track was cold. There was rubber on the track but it was cold and slippery, I told the driver to give it more throttle and put more pressure down on the car. When the tires and the rubber on the track heated up they bit fast and caused the tires to rip. I could have edited out that part but i left it in there so guys could see i was being honest and we all make mistakes. I'm re-adjusting the steering horn, putting on the new tires and i'll give it another try. I believe the truck comes with another pinion gear too. I'll do more testing to see what improvements we can get with this truck right out of the box. The next test will be done at 132ft.
We’ve been using the LCG chassis on current slash drag builds along with bandit axles, turnbuckles and arms. All that’s new is transmission, front bumper and beefier xd axles. $500 for this to “attract new racers to no prep” is a bit pricey, but some will buy it just because. I’ll stick to my current slash build and Losi 22s drag car. I will be getting the 4Tec 3.0 💪🏾💯
It would have to be about twice as good as other Traxxas 2wds because for that price you can get a rtr VXL Slash and a rtr base 2wd like a Bandit. That 2x everything. Heck, 2 complete VXL Bandits use to be $519.99. Even by Traxxas standards, this is overpriced.
Traxxas support said you should use the alternate pinion for doing timed passes. It should help the 2s times. Also I may have missed it in the review, but there is a new slipper and sealed diff too... This is def not the same old slash...
Cool video! I’m a drag racing enthusiast and we just repaved our parking lot at work. My local hobby shop has these so I’ve been tempted to pick one up.
burn out on carpet helps with not shredding the tire as fast and use half throttle for the burnout so they dont stretch as much and wear out just the center of the tire good looking car tho!
An old piece of carpet or carpeted floor mats are good for warming up tires without wearing them down. Excellent video, aweeesome wheelie down the strip!
And having the Steering Trim turned all the Way to the Right. Might make your Drag Truck, spin off too the Right Side, during TAKE-OFF. WATCH THE VIDEO & YOU WILL SEE, WHEN THE 2 GUYS ARE MESSING WITH THE, TSM KNOB. LOOK AT THE STEERING TRIM KNOB. IT'S TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT.
To compare with others, try 132 feet and install the race gear. I think the pinion that comes on it is a practice gear. I wonder if you can get tires yet....!?
I just love seeing the bashing done by guys who probably spent a pile on that POS DR10 lol people will literally cry over anything. Nobody runs stock radios and these stock cars are running 2.4’s with traxxas batteries and the TSM off
Should have compared the ultimate/VXL it has the lcg chassis and the same motor and ESC combo still not worth $500 when all they did was put a new transmission and launch control
Great video! I'm wanting to get a speed car/drag car. You think these are great as is and to build on? Or would a tricked out 2wd slash set up for drag/speed be better and more useful other than just drag racing?
Hey, nice video, do you know if the drag slash can drift using the trans brake? And can it drift with the drag slicks? And will it ruin the tires? I'm looking to get one, thanks.
Thank you for saving me $500! For that money, it should not only handle a little “hop”, it should bunny hop down the strip. Tires are total junk for that price; they lasted all of three runs before they showed extreme wear. Definitely for the noobs who don’t know any better. You’re right, though. It’s not a Slash. It’s a 3s Bandit VXL on junk drag tires. Going with the Bandit. Oh, what would’ve been really interesting is to see a Slash VXL on 3s (even a RWD model) launch and crush that junk dragster.
Sorry normally like your vide but my opinion wasn't a good one at least get a slash that was comparable with a vxl system and tsm .. as for it being a drag slash everyone knows the same thing been being build for years with bandit parts now I am interested in the transmission.. do a break down on that see whats in it or if it's just a redesign with a heatsink
@@TurboGaming86 I didn't think it was going to happen. I told the driver to press down harder on the car and get those tires hot. The track was cool and you can see the rubber already on the track. It was my fault and I said it was our fault in the video not the manufacture.
@@OvalRC yea I see …you should put that other gear to get the max performance out of your 2cell battery buddy …thanks for your video I appreciate it awesome content can’t wait to see you’re next video on this awesome ride ….that’s an awesome track I’m just gonna do the rug burn out method to hopefully help prevent that from happening that’s what I been seeing at most no prep events u should try that too
Love the videos. Do you know if any no Oreo racing near central Pa? I’d get into this if others were doing it in my area. Thanks so much and please keep the awesome content coming!!
i dont think ur suppose to do burnout on those tires there basicly just for looks i had proline hoosier tires they ripped everytime with burn outs there not going to heat up the rubber is very thin they tear easly i suggest just do a pass it aint going to help if you do burnout
@Oval RC, have you ever Drove an RC Truck or Car ever? It's mind boggling that (You 2 Guy's DID NOT SEE THAT THE FUCKIN STEERING TRIM), {WAS TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT ON THE TRANSMITTER.}
Tires Didn’t last one day. That’s what happens when you buy a traxxas, you going to be spending even MORE money on it before you know it you spent more money than what it would of cost to buy a better name brand rc.
Horrible comparison I have a slash lcg that is almost identical to the drag chassis why would you compare to a normal chassis my regular slash beats the drag outta the box waste of money convert your slash
Its still a plastic overpriced and overhyped rc like all traxxas recently. The losi drag truck has a metal chassi for example and costs less Comes with an esc fan, LEDs. than the dragslash. And TSM or gyro is illegal in drag racing
No wonder they say it’s a 2s class 🤦♂️. At 3s the tires explode 🤯 I was planning on running this on 3s. Great job traxxas another tire shredder just like the erevo. Sold that turd 💩 right after I blew several sets of $100 tires on 4s. Now I was all hyped up to buy this truck and I remembered now why I got out of this hobby it’s a money pit and the tires are trash. Thanks for crushing my new dreams. I’ll just watch other people burn up there money.

Right out the box already costing more money before one day use. Hot or not they blew bcs their not made for drag application.
It wasn’t that you had the steering trim set all the way to the right on the controller
The hardened steel input gear from the drag slash is a great upgrade for a slash, rustler, stampede etc

I was hoping to see a timed 3s run, that thing is a beast. Glad you got to run it on a real strip.
New tires on the way.
Traxxas support said you should use the alternate pinion for doing timed passes. It should help the 2s times.
Also I may have missed it in the review, but there is a new slipper and sealed diff too... This is def not the same old slash...
This is the first of many videos from me on this truck. This is just a general information video for the beginner.
Cool video! I’m a drag racing enthusiast and we just repaved our parking lot at work. My local hobby shop has these so I’ve been tempted to pick one up.
They are 2 for 499 right now. And comes with a starting light. By buddy and I just got them. So much fun!
burn out on carpet helps with not shredding the tire as fast and use half throttle for the burnout so they dont stretch as much and wear out just the center of the tire good looking car tho!
That body looks good
But not really
Actually I changed my mind is really good
Need to lower the wheelie bar on 3s it hit the bar so hard it unloaded the tires.
Chasis and transmission i was disappointed going with the losi platform
My Losi arrived today.. another video coming soon.
Need to adjust the steering when you turn off tsm
An old piece of carpet or carpeted floor mats are good for warming up tires without wearing them down. Excellent video, aweeesome wheelie down the strip!
Mines otw be my 1st drag rc truck. Enjoying the video.
Nice truck
I can almost guarantee you in competition somebody's going to cry about that stability device seeing how that truck gets out of control
In no prep rc drag racing you are not allowed to have ANY type of stability management. So people complaining should not be a problem.
The trim knob was all the way to the right so that might be why it was going really hard right
Being from Leesport only 20 minutes away I think it would be cool if RMC would have some events there.
To compare with others, try 132 feet and install the race gear. I think the pinion that comes on it is a practice gear. I wonder if you can get tires yet....!?
Nice pass 🔥🔥🔥🤟
I just love seeing the bashing done by guys who probably spent a pile on that POS DR10 lol people will literally cry over anything. Nobody runs stock radios and these stock cars are running 2.4’s with traxxas batteries and the TSM off
There is a slash vxl with a velineon system so you can’t compare motors at all because those are the same on different slashes
Adjust the wheelie bar. Great video
Should have compared the ultimate/VXL it has the lcg chassis and the same motor and ESC combo still not worth $500 when all they did was put a new transmission and launch control
Yup but hey its the T brand. You pay for the brand just like apple for example even if their product sucks and dont want anyone fixing their products
When they making a Ford?
What a cool video...I'm very new to the rc drag side of the hobby and this video really showed a lot....thanks
“Stall converter on real race car” 😂 not quite
USA is such a great place for RC…….
Heating up tires on a prep track, no bueno...better off using a piece of rug. Was this the stock 22t pinion or 29t ?
Shoulda got a speed and time on that wheelie run! That was sikk!
Also most RC drags are carpet burnouts
Very nice comparison nice video
Great video! I'm wanting to get a speed car/drag car. You think these are great as is and to build on? Or would a tricked out 2wd slash set up for drag/speed be better and more useful other than just drag racing?
I'm wondering why you tested at 160 ft. I've never heard of anyone ever racing at 160 ft.
Because a scale quarter mile for rc cars is about 132 feet and I guess the extra 28 feet is just extra measure for top speed
Amazing great speed run and good job 👏😊👍
Awesome vid💯😎🔥🔥🔥🏁

Good video but the Trans break is just like a real Trans break it has nothing to do will a Stahl converter
Is it worth getting it do u think that red button will have it on the romot when I buy 1
Awww man I no what to expect now when I get mine I guess I better order a spare set tires to be prepared
The tires are wider and softer than other stock out of the box drag cars.. Might be a good idea to pick up a few extra sets
@@OvalRC ok thank you 😊 I’m definitely gonna pick up a couple sets just so I can keep racing cause honestly I never thought of this happing lol

Why are you doing 160 feet? It should be 132 feet. Also use carpet for your burnouts
i should start using a car floor mat to heat the tires.. good idea
@Oval RC, i think you should get a bottle of lighter Fluid. Squirt it all over your Drag Truck & fling a match at it and call it a Day.
@@shawnblock7335 I ain’t no cactus expert, but I know a prick when I see one.
it is good looking truck
I wish I could do drag racing but if I wreck my dad gets mad
It's not as wide. Drag slash has bandit suspension and a arms and rods

check with the 717 crew. or contact White Rose Hobbies in York PA
Do they come with the remote?

Yeah I would keep the stock tires for when it on the shelf and get good tires for actually running it.
It's called a drag (slash) for a reason
Dammit tat shit fast
Should have compared it to a vxl slash
Is it worth it

Ay buddy, you forgot your caps lock on.
Why do a 160 foot when drag is 132 foot
Yea it's different than the slash but not different than the slash that was made into drag with the same lcg chassis lmao
I agree, why didn’t we see the regular LCG slash with the Vilinian system. ?LMAO
Although with that said, I bought it just because
What app is that?
Looks like it's in training mode, I saw they were running around 3 seconds on 2s
It's supposed to be 132 foot
Turn the throttle down to 60 and no TSM it's right then lol
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
what's the app you're using on your phone?
SKY RC GNSS
I consider this car junk untill they come out with steel drive lines
Everyone a UA-camr. Show the Lcg slash it’s the same shit. Your comparing the wrong model. Plzzzz stop the foolish
“No prep”, running on prepped drag strip. Ummm. SMH

I just think heavy rc use results in fast tire wear. Especially drag racing or high speed stuff. I know bashing hard destroys tires fast
@@bh8066 my tires where new out of the package. Hit the gas once and boom 💥 happened with the stocks and aftermarket ones.
Another junk by Traxxas 😂 team losi
