I had a really slow weep that I just couldn't trace at all. To save resorting to pressure testing I bought some Ring RLD2 UV dye, it is brilliant stuff, traced it to a really slow weep on the EGR coolant pipe. The benefit of the UV dye is that the marker persists long after the moisture has evaporated away.

Thanks for this, excellent as usual. I've just got my hands on a V70 T5 from 2003, it's great but someone has mixed red coolant in with the original green coolant, so it's now a nasty brown colour. Can i use my Sealy to flush this coolant out and and flush through distilled water before re filling with the correct coolant. I have seen your coolant flush vid but thought i could maybe use the Sealy to pressure flush, get out all the old stuff?

From experience, this bleeder takes too much effort to maintain the pressure required to flush out a significant quantity.
I have a video coming up in the next couple of days though showing how using a cheap tyre compressor can do the job nicely via the expansion tank return hose.
You would force out around 3 litres at a time, refill the system with distilled water and repeat until what comes out runs clear.
Then add the correct concentrated coolant.

@@sirobb Robbo, couldnt be better timing, I need to flush my brown sludge of a coolant.
I also have another issue with cooling fan turning on every time the car is properly heated, even in winter. I did check coolant temp via elm327, it shows 99C, and when Im turning off engine the fan starts spinning on a 2nd speed ( doesn't start until I turn ignition off). It doesn't overheat (getting over 104C) even doing german motorway at 110+ mph in 30C heat, any advices?

@@bogdanrzeznik627 First job is to completely flush your cooling system forwards and backwards and pay special attention to flushing the radiator both ways a few times.
The brown coolant suggests corrosion in the system and you may have rust debris restricting coolant flow which is raising the coolant temperature.
If your coolant remains at 99°C after flushing, the thermostat may not be opening fully and should be replaced as a precaution.
