Excellent! I love the pvp set up for this series. Pitting 2 gishes together is a great opening act too. I hope you get more support for these videos so you make more. Subscribed
Aww, thank you so much! You and other friendly people have encouraged for me to continue with this series. The next will be a cleric versus druid. I need about 2 weeks for these kinds of videos. Meanwhile, i still am sharing other shorter and easier videos about settings maps, environments, etc.
I really appreciate how visual everything is - you’re an amazing storyteller! I always admire the effort you put into setting up the environment. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a commission for voice dubbing in a fantasy game someday.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I enjoyed making this video. Your suggested video about environments will go online during the first week of December 2024, and then i likely will create others about specific environments later.
Outstanding! Totally worth watching. Needed to understand this. Frankly glad the Echo Knight Fighter, and the BladeSinger Wizard are not in the 2024 PHB.
i am glad that the video was useful for you. :) The bladesinger could have cast "greater invisibility" or "polymorph" into a dinosaur, but ... the eldritch knight almost certainly could break the concentration and prevail. Another video soon will show an eldritch knight versus the 2024 version of a "pact of the blade" warlock.
Thank you so much! i am glad that you liked the episode. i aim to upload more of these battle videos, once every two weeks. The next few episodes are in process of editing, but i am slow.
Loving the level of character optimization here! One note, Jump in 2024 is even better now. Lasts a minute with concentration, letting you jump 30 ft every turn for the cost of 10 feet of movement each time.
Oh yes, the 2024 "jump" spell is so good for any character build, essentially adding 20 feet of movement and the extra options of vertical coverage, crossing over gaps, and other creative approaches. The casting time of a bonus action is especially nice.
@@bora7494 oh yes, now that you mention it .... the bladesinger might have used "enhance ability" to boost the stealth check above the likely range of being detected. Otherwise with the concentration, "invisibility" or "greater invisibility" could have been helpful.
Currently playing a bladesinger, and yeah Invisibility and Haste are always loaded in my prepared spells. I also tend towards a lot of crowd control for my spells such as Rimes Binding Ice. The great part is with haste up plus mage armor and blade song I'm up and running with a 24 ac and 80 movement round 1, at lvl 5.
Oh, i like the idea of a battle between two different kinds of sorcerer multiclass. I am sorry that i will need to be slow with uploading this one, because i already made a commitment with the next few episodes. Most likely, i will explore a few variations of the numbers of levels in sorcerer versus other class, as well as the options of the subclasses.
@@jefffarrell7066 No worries at all. Part of the fun of these videos = we all would make different choices, and i like when people share comments about what could have been a wiser choice.
Good show. Makes an excellent demonstration of why defensive spells on an EK are so effective. Assuming the same attack rolls, a GWM Greatsword with Graze mastery might have done even better. The PW/OT would cover for a lower DEX very efficiently.

Just wondering how you got an AC of 16 on the bladesinger... she has a dex mod of +4 and an INT of +4. Mage armor gives 13 plus dex for 17 and blade song adds 4 more for 21 or 26 with a shield spell
Thank you for noting about the AC of 16. This character was using studded leather, without the option for the mage armor. The spell could have boosted the defense, though.
Good video, but you should have used Haste... 😊 I play a Monk/Bladesinger. Im a big fan of the Haste spell on that character due to great Con saves and AC. The Bladesinger still might have had issues and lost but I think my Monk would have won. Here's my strategy using a similar build: 2 Monk/6 Bladesinger I start the battle with 69 HPs with only a 12 Con score (resilience feat Con) but 10 of those HPs are actually False Life which I always cast on myself when I awake everyday at 2nd level. This human Mystical Monk also has the feats Lucky and Toughness. We also have a passive perception of 19. Round 1: you win initiative and do all your damage, max AC I can do without buffs is 22 (17 + 5 Shield spell Now I cast Haste and then use Bladesong bringing my AC to 21 (I only have a 14 Int due to multiclass). I then use my Hasted Action to disengage and move 100 ft away (blade song 10 + Monk 10 + 30ft × 2). Round 2 You move within 60 feet and cast Shatter because even with jump + Misty Step you cant make it to us. Im proficient in Con saves (and can make those at advantage with Lucky) but lets say she fails again. I can also save my reaction to counterspell but lets not also go there. Shes still rocking a lot more HP than your Bladesinger so she feels confident in going to battle. I also wont use Greenflame/Booming for your senario but I can use True Strike for extra Divine Damage. I make 3 attacks with Multi Attack + Hasted attack and then take the Dodge Action. One of those Multiattacks I swap for True Strike to add a 1d6 damage more to one of the attacks. Round 3: im guessing youll also go blades in but will have to hit a possible 27 AC....at Disadvantage. So you have to roll 2 19s in a row to even have a chance to hit my Mystical Monk. Same thing happens round after round until I burn up my 2 ki points. Then I switch to Dodging with my main Action and attacking with my Hasted Action + Unarmed Strike and just play the long game. If she gets too injured for some reason she can always Cast False Life to keep up a buffer of HPs. Eventually my Mystical Monk would wear down this Eldritch Knight pretty quickly. The main difference mechanical wise between my Bladesinger build and yours is mine is human and starts with 2 feats (Lucky/Toughness) and uses False Life to buff her HPs even more and it acts like a HP buffer that then can be recharged. My characater also utilizes Haste and has no issues fighting defensively to drag out the battle in her favor.
Wow, monks are soooo much better now with 2024 rules. I like your split of monk 2 with bladesinger 6. The "haste" would be especially effective with this combination.
@earthenkindquests Monks are really good now. And this split is a little less potent than it was compared to 2014 Monk. But I wanted to port her over "as is" and the advantages with Bladesinger still work out well in comparison to the 2024 Monk. I basically made a "Jedi/High Wire Kungfu (Hidden Dragon)" character. I do really like the fact Monks can now grapple with Dex. Mix that with high speeds and you can do some fun stuff. 😉
You took Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade out of the equation, but not the Absorb Elements spell? Absorb Elements is not available in PHB 2024. Anyway, it is a good video and demonstration, thank you for that!
Keep making videos I just don’t think that it would happen like that. The blade Singer doesn’t have cure wounds or a health potion, to heel, but the fighter does.
Many thanks! In a next video (later in December 2024), the same Bladesinger Wizard will face a Draconic Sorcerer. :) The dynamics will be quite different from the duel against the Eldritch Knight Fighter.
Interesting encounter... I wonder what level things would have flipped at, as high level spells do things that Fighters can't possibly compete with. Using Invisibility before the encounter also could have put the Wizard in a Much better starting position.
Thanks for noting about the invisibility! This part will come into play for another battle, hopefully to upload after another few weeks. As for higher level ... hmmm, a suitable test might be at level 12?
Minor nitpick: The Bladesinger forgot to apply the bonus Radiant damage from her Celestial Revelation to her Fireball. Aside from that, you state that this uses 2024 rules, but then allow some 2014 stuff and disallow other 2014 stuff...which can seem arbitrary. Might wanna set up some ground rules for this series to go forward to stay consistent? Overall I enjoyed watching this. Not a white-room scenario, not two over-optimized characters that wouldn't be allowed at a real table anyway, good narration. Should be a fun little series.
Really love the idea but it felt a bit anticlimatic i think. Also, i get that booming blade or green flame blade would have been a bit overpowered but i still think that they make up a lot of the identity of both subclasses.
If the Wizard had used Polymorph round 1 they would have won easily with a extra 150 temp hp Cool series so far but really want to see these characters use their best features just comes off unfair when I see a character has very powerful spells at their disposal and they choose not to use them
Oh yes, certainly, other options could have provided far more damage output for both of these characters. I hope to work with more in this series, bringing more of these ideas into the mix.
Excellent! I love the pvp set up for this series. Pitting 2 gishes together is a great opening act too. I hope you get more support for these videos so you make more.

@@iLitTheSun Yes, you are correct about the wording of the "jump" spell. The single bonus action is easy to manage.
Was nicely described i was surprised that the bladesinger didn't have invisibility for a stealthy approach.

Why ban the blade cantrips when you’re already allowing legacy content in the form of the Blade Singer subclass?
