I’ve been checking out other UA-camrs playing this game and Skye they have nothing on you dude, love how you think about the game and play it with an eye for detail and optimisation 👍🏻
34:46 There's a mod called ChainedDestruction that removes entire rows of ladders as a dupe deconstructs just one of them. Perfect for mass backfilling using ladder chains as scaffolding. cheers mate.
Gotta love it when a geyser is RIGHT where youre trying to dig. My base has a bunch of annoying corkscrews in its tunnels thanks to unremovable POIs or a random geyser Also i really wish they'd add an automated storage system. Requires a fair bit of power to use but it directly takes in both by hand and by rail items and stores WAY more than the regular storage per space used.
Love your videos! Made me buy the game... One point - if you drop the slime into liquid - it will not release any gas or polluted oxygen. I usually either dig above a pool or 'scrape the sides' so it all falls into the pool :)
Why is salt not very useful? its a renewable source of water (better than cool steam geyser) plus gives you renewable salt for the dining room and renewable sand for filtration/clay. sounds very useful to me
Skye I started watching your cities skyline series and it's bloody awesome and yet to finish surviving mars, both between this ONI series... you make my every day happier ♥ keep going :)
B/c of ske I've been going the ultra cautious ferm free, polution free route. But many other ONI vids seem to think slime/slime-lung, etc are trivial and go ahead and dig out whole biomes in one go with no prep. The only thing I see them do differently is NOT pick up any of the debris.
Putting a couple of deodorisers at the end of those tunnels and then pumping in pure oxygen at the far end so it pushes polluted oxygen towards deodorisers would've been easier than constantly building two tiles at a time I think.
Do conveyor belts get contaminated? otherwise there is the perfect solution and its duplicant time effective, put in an automated miner, a sweeper, a conveyor right into the chlorine room and presto, clean slime.
Question - Hi Syke, in some cases when i start the slime containing slime lung is very close to my base and acts as a barrier to setting up the base cleanly. I've been trying a couple of solutions in advance of a chlorine room. One solution I use is I place 3-4 sinks between my base and the slime area as you set out. I then dig down two tiles and then place a container which I then submerge in clean germ free water (normal is temp you find when you first spawn). I set the container at 9 and hold slime lung and then as you so slowly mine 1-2 tiles of slime at a time which then gets supplied to the container. As its underwater it does not emit polluted oxygen. The problem i have is the slime lung doesn't die. So i can end up with 40 million+ germs as the amount of slime lung in the container increases. I thought slime lung died in liquid? do you have any advice. Massive thanks for all your videos and guides. They've become my go to reference for solving problems.
Hello Skye, just want to say that i love your series, thanks to you i got addicted to Frostpunk, Surviving Mars and now ONI :D I want to ask why don't you use the copy function ( pressing "B" after selecting an item)? It would make building stuff a lot more easier in my opinion. Keep up the awesome work!
Loving the series man. I know I'm late but I came late to ONI too 😅 just wondering why you dug around the abyssilite when exploring instead of doing a straight run through it?
Didn't we have this episode? Also Slimelung is really nothing anymore. Just don't bother with too much safety. At worst you get your dupes slightly slowed for 3 cycles and that's it.
Ya know sky. It might be a little cheaty. But i like to use a larger storage mod. The one I use in 80000 kg instead of 20000 effectively quartering my storage requirements
Yup, I started doing this and its such a space saver. just make sure to set it to sweep only so your dupes dont constantly pick up and drop off the same materials. And make sure to have a bit of water in the tile to stop any offgassing that might happen.
do you know about the item dropper??? items don't cause lag and don't despawn so you can put all the items in ONE TILE worth of space and of you add some type of liquid to the top (to stop things from off gassing) then you could use the space for other things
The incubators are on a timer, so the disconnection symbol *may* be from that. That being said, I did notice that he deconstructed 'all' , when he made room to move his ladders on the left, and he cut through 2 power lines..... cheers.
you could have put storrage in the same area you filled the tiles, more space more efficient. 20k storrage per 2 tiles ! -filling is just a waste of (vid) time. Spock - "Highly Illogical"
I feel like plopping down a bunch of deodorizers would have been less work than filling it all up with tiles, but it worked, so not gonna argue with results.
I was hoping that in the final asteroid you explore, there was a way to send 3 duplicants there and start all over in an asteroid with the same or harder difficulty
@@SkyeStorme So basically, are all colonies eventually "doomed"... I mean, do you really need to leave the asteroid once you deplete all the resources ?

I have lots of salt/sand/water .. so not very useful

If you just use automated dispensers to drop your stock into 2 tiles of 200g of water then you don't need storage bins.

Almost everything would have been easier than filling with tiles...
Skye: we need to deal with the slime lung issue now.
Atmo suit: am I a joke to you?
I like that, in the end, you've got a huge pre-built area that just needs to be fitted out with whatever rooms you want/need :)
Throw in a buddy bud or 2 and let the floral germs fight off the slimelung I find works really good.
For the iron volcano
Good video. I love when there is more to watch and learn. Very informative and interesting. Aloha!
Love the longer videos 👍🏾
You forgot the super diver's lungs buff from the neural vacillator - very useful imho
Hey Skye, you can use your slush geyser to cool down the output water from a metal refinery:)
I love these really long episodes!
I know occasionally people comment "Just checked feed and bam a video by you." Well I had that happen for me :)
Do conveyor belts get contaminated? otherwise there is the perfect solution and its duplicant time effective, put in an automated miner, a sweeper, a conveyor right into the chlorine room and presto, clean slime.
Could you add germ sensor to the conveyor so you disifenct it going through the chlorine room and then too storage?

It's because the slimelung is not in the water .. the slimelung is in the slime. You need chlorine to actually 'disinfect' it :)
Cheers for the vid Skye.
@33 mins .. and there was much rejoicing !
I'm happy for u

23:50 Skye trying to mass kill Dupes.
Skye only kills them in a cave I think?

he said that was a exploit, so he didn't use it.
Your channel is like your base, hella cool
Thanks Rick! :)
YESS!!!! Thanks SKye!! Been waiting for this!!!
and OMG its an hour long :D i couldnt be happier right now hahaha
Nicely played Sky!
in your west tunnel if you look up there one of those doors again.
What do those labs you find do ?
So how long until the disconnection of power to the incubators is realized?
The incubators are on a timer, so the disconnection symbol *may* be from that.
That being said, I did notice that he deconstructed 'all' , when he made room to move his ladders on the left, and he cut through 2 power lines.....
cheers.
Yep... it's a disconnection 1:00:28
Petroleum and sour gas in the wild... Sounds like there's maybe a heat leak to the core (or the abyssalite phase change bug... Sigh).
Petroleum is probably from the molten slickster he pointed out. Not sure about the sour gas though. Does it appear naturally?
Skye just like Christmas 1 hour long episode! big surprise.
Skye are you going to strip mine the whole map?
No idea atm
@@SkyeStorme , OK that fin. great episode can't wait to watch the next one tomorrow.

Spock - "Highly Illogical"
Yes, exactly
48:03 Close your eyes and he's playing Minecraft
You could use pips to plant a wild pincha pepper farm.
I don't have any pips :)
I feel like plopping down a bunch of deodorizers would have been less work than filling it all up with tiles, but it worked, so not gonna argue with results.
the problem is the way he fill the tiles, isn't the fast way of doing it.
Can you take care of the notifications? You've had 3 things damaged from overheating for ages.
They are things generated by the map inside hot crude oil
Is it just me or is this episode BEFORE the steam turbine? I can't seem to find the steam turbine anywhere in his map @5:56
The steam turbine episode was not part of this series :)
@@SkyeStorme I knew it! Still a great episode of the series tho, keep it up Skye!
Did you know there's new content in Frostpunk?
Yes Rifts :)
I bet u could have just storaged more in storages in that whole area u just filled in
big like!
29:34 you cut wires
Im new to the game and i have a question. Can you later in the game have multiple colonies on different locations (asteroids) ?
No :)
Whats the reason to fill in ? less oxygen to produce ?
To control the polluted oxygen and get rid of materials
52:50 ! :D
hi
eww saw a couple sporchids in there nasty plants those
First ?
nice
Grats on first ;)
