that does not always work you just get an error in the top left saying the dupe could not find a place to put there suit you need to make sure you have enough docks on each side for the amount of suits you have in that area
Exosuits are the group of items Jetsuits and Atmosuits are categorized in. Thats why its an "exosuit forge" and "atmosuit checkpoint" - atmo and jet checkpoints dont pay attention to the other suit type.
Really love this series. It's done more to help me understand ONI than anything else I've read or watched since getting the game in early access. My base has just passed it's first year, the first to survive anywhere close to that long.
I'd probably have a single transit tunnel in the middle of the base rather than two on either side that get people confused. Plus it would look even neater~
If you are going to increase the number of dupes.... go to 3 shifts.... get night shift running. You still need extra mess tables, but 3 can share a bathroom or shower as easily as 2.
@Skye Storme. To maintain your symmetry, block the 'unsuited' side of each dock with a door. Then allow one half of your dupes access to only the left door and the other half to only the right door. Then you won't get atmo suits dropped either. Loving the series (even made me buy the game from your store).
It’s exo suits because it can make the atmosuit and the Jet suit just checked if you set the check points to vacancy only then that should solve the suite problem as the dups will only use the check point with a space for the suit
You can move water distributor down to "kitchen" area and keep all tables together at upper level of great hall. Also you can try making place for two new showers by removing four sculptures from shower area and keep those tube entrances.
I think you could save power by removing the tube access point from the great hall and just put a tube exit, since they only go there at the end of their day and their bedrooms are right next door. Love your videos. So helpful. HOORAY!!
About Atmo, put two more. One on left, one on right, but do not deliver extra Atmo suits. Then, they will have always room to store suit, and if there is no suit on the right, you will have 2 on the left, and that will force them to go on the side where suits are. Sometimes it will be 2 on left or rights, sometimes it will be one on both sides, but they will be put back in dock.
If you put doors before the docks and give access only to the ranchers one on each door it would force them to go only one way so the suits will always return at their place i think ( and the others will only deliver dirt from the bottom ) ( sorry if its confusing i'm not english so i dunno if my sentence is correct )
He can set the checkpoint to 'vacancy only' so a dupe will only go past if there's an open dock for the suit. So many people seem not to know the checkpoint has a setting that can be altered.
in addition to having the checkpoints set to vacancy only, I will sometimes put doors in front of my checkpoints, and use door restrictions to force dupes to go left or right, and to keep unwanted dupes out of certain areas.
Here's a tip: to see if they can use the atmosuit that's left on the ground, click on them and use the "move to" option to force them to go beyond the checkpoint.
More Dupes? Yes please! Also, have you tried simply adding another atmosuit dock on each side at the top? That way there should always be enough space on either side, no matter where they enter and exit. You could also turn it into a one way entrance, but raise it up to a higher level, so underneath dupes can still walk past to get to the plant tiles.
Dealing with your upper area Atmosuit problems. LIST of problems: 1) Duplicates use the left Transport Tube but have to do farming work on the right side taking a Atmosuit & vice versca. 2)More duplicates coming from a single Transport Tube side to do ranching work then Atmosuit available. SINGLE SOLUTION for both problems: STEP 1 - Move the Atmosuit Station up by 1 floor level with a single ladder from the Transport Tube landing floor to it, but the this floor is just high enough that the Duplicates who are doing farming work can walk underneath it. Because of this you can make the pathway to the ranching area a one way path so everyone headed up there will have to use and return the Atmosuit as you hope they will. STEP 2 - Make sure the pathways from either Transport Tube to dealing with farming from underneath is a faster/short path for either destination side then having the duplicates reaching it above and using an Atmosuit. Using plastic ladders to the underneath farming areas but regular ladders to the Atmosuit Station and ranching area. Also if you made the open height between the underneath farming and the ranching area to 3 high instead of 2(yes I know that means moving the whole ranching area up by 1 and a time consuming pain the the ass) maybe just the thing for creating those shorter/longer needed paths. Lastly move the plastic ladders to access underneath farming areas as close to center line of the base as possible. I hope these ideas possibly help you out.
What you can do with the atmo suits is to build an additional atmo suite dock on each side and set the checkpoint to vacancy only. That will stop them from dropping the suites
Hello! Check the ice biome above your lower natural gas geyser, on the ventilation overlay you can see a piece of insulated pipe, which might be an Anti Entropy Thermo-Nullifier intake pipe, so you can explore that and if it is, show the people what interesting things can be done with it :)
The suitdock i usually set up that goes down to the bottom of the map or up to space is usually huge. Power isnt really a problem for the same reason the tube transports arent...once they charge they barely draw anything.
Skye, you can save a lot of energy just by using smart batterys on the outputs of your transformers and automatice them (I think, I'm not sure about it)
Then Squeezle picks the Suit hanging up instead of the one already on the floor: just like me to do that :) . . . yes, to moar dupes: still want Lynx(meow) to join us and get a "Made a new friend" Buff
More dupes! New friends! Yea! And there was much rejoicing! But you have the self control to not queue too many tasks so you really do not need them at the moment. I suggest building the 16 bedrooms and clear the replicator every 3 cycles looking for traits you really like.
The way Klei set up the mess table and bed assignments is a pain, if you have say 16 people on two non overlapping shifts you should be able to only use 8 beds and 8 mess tables.
the mess table maybe, but I wouldn't use the bed of someone else. but the Lavatory and the Showers I would love to assign more than 1 duplicant, I hate when they use whatever is available instead of the one that is close to their beds.
@@ZielAmerak if you have a set up similar to skye's just go through and set access to the doors to each bathroom to the people that use that set of bedrooms. that way they will always use the bathroom you want them to use because there won't be another option. just be careful, you don't want to accidentally set it so a dupe has no way of using the bathroom. i'm doing this in my play though and i haven't ran into a problem but you still have to be careful. also it's real easy to set up your showers in your bathrooms. that way each dupe will you the shower/lavatory you want them to use and you get that center space skye is using as a shower room for something else. the only bad thing about it is you can't fit crown molding above the shower.
Place doors on the ladder side of the suits so only one dupe can go through each door. You'd then have the dupes who use the suit only going to the correct atmos dock
I think the Gas source will stop giving more gas when it reaches it's high pressure point, and I don't see any harm from making a lot more gas tanks to store gas when there is no new gas coming in
I'm not sure about anymore people. They already stand around a lot of the time. With the Atmos Suits at the top, putting a wall on the right would kind of even it out. Since you have that hydrogen sensor on the left. I have no idea why my guy keeps putting on a suit to add dirt. He did it again after you blocked off the way in. He just went up and over.
Could you have as many Atmo Suit docks on either side as there are Atmo Suits in that area, so that there are always enough docks regardless of which direction the Dupes go afterwards? In your example, have two docks either side but starting out with just one Atmo Suit on each side.
Keep the vids coming skye, but super cereal question here. Why didn't you make thee power plant horizontal? Then would have been nice and neat =) Big thanks from Burton
You know, the first time I made atom suits, I realised I had to click “deliver suit” pretty quickly, so I clicked it. Then I was like, why aren’t they still delivering the suit?? Then I found out my carriers had run off with it and I couldn’t find it so I had to just continually cancel then deliver the suit over and over again until they finally delivered it 😂
they are abit dumb with atmo suits easy fix is to make sure you have as many docks on each side as you have suits so in yur case you have 2 suits make sure you have 2 docks on each side they will auto go to a dock with a suit in it to do the job they need to do
Hello Skye, my brother randomly linked me one of your videos and I just fell in love with the game / your content. I didn't actually buy it yet, I wanted to see all of your guides before (and I'm finally on par, started 4 days ago :D). So, just wanted to thank you for the awesome [sauce] content (which your accent makes even better :P). One additional question: I've read around that the game becomes unplayable from a technical standpoint (i.e., the PC cannot run it anymore) when the map becomes huge. Have you experienced any issues? You have a monster PC so it's not much of a reference... but still a reference! Thanks.
> Have you experienced any issues? In one video of this series you will see the problem. Autosaves. If player is taking some action (build, deconstruct, cancel) and autosave hits, interface gets frozen and action is applied to random cells after unfreeze as if player moved the mouse during freeze. He had plumbing trashed by autosave and continued playing without noticing it. Stuff was fixed before next episode. Those autosaves are more noticeable over time.
I saw a mod a while ago that unassigns tables and beds, allowing you to make more efficient use of them when using multiple shifts. If you want more dupes, could be a good idea. And with the showers, couldn't you just add an extra shift?
We DEMAND MORE DUPES! Please. Nice video, I liked the idea of having those 2 docks at the top. Shame on the game A.I. though. Look forward to the Steam Turbine as I have no idea how to really use it. Also any plans in this series to make Waterweed or Sleet Wheat Farms?
SKye, any good way to control power. To be general once a battery reaches ~90% the gas shut off stops the input of natural gas/hydrogen using the residual gas in the line and generator to top of the batteries. I can not figure a way to use logic titles to do so with smart batteries as its just keeps going. Using the Clock Sensor atm, but would like to refine it.
I believe the element sensor is a bit wonky... I believe in order to do this you would also need two gas shutoffs (one fire the correct gas and the other for the rest), and two buffer gates (to delay signal just long enough for the gas to get each shutoff). Logic is immediate, meaning the gas at the point of the sensor registers the types of gas, before it reaches the gas shutoff.

Set the checkpoints to "vacancy Only" and they will put suits back in empty spots!!! *hears everyone shouting at their screens!!! :P
I'm not shouting, just speaking loudly

the jetpack is also made at the exosuit forge so..
Keep your showers at 6 and just make another work shift, that way you can keep the tube access.
cheers for the vid Skye.

so basically dupes are like regular people. Take something and leave it somewhere else :D

Grats on first ;)
Exactly what I'm doing. But I messed up on episode 4. Had to restart (I'm a perfectionist) 😩
What you can do with the atmo suits is to build an additional atmo suite dock on each side and set the checkpoint to vacancy only. That will stop them from dropping the suites

Place doors on the ladder side of the suits so only one dupe can go through each door. You'd then have the dupes who use the suit only going to the correct atmos dock

my uneducated guess is that it's called the exosuit forge because it produces both atmo suits and jet suits/jetpacks
Or instead of vacancy only setting, just have an extra spot for a exosuit on each side. Not optimal but works
YAS, finally, exosuits .... waiting since day 1

Love your videos, as always :D
Just keep suits in one side and disable the other checkpoint so you can keep the asthetic look
or put a extra atmo suit dock on each side, then the 2 spots can be filled if need be

Mark Smolarek umm you need to connect the smart batteries to the generator not the gas pump.
Put another dock on each side and leave them empty so if one is already on there the other dupe should put it on the empty one 👍🏻
