Wow this is such an epic song by Uematsu (let's face it, he fucking killed it here). And this remake is such a nice enhancement of the flavor of this song.
His use of an organ is incredibly creative. This and dancing mad are so unique.

@@Chihiro-Kikuchi I think the same, even the Ultimecias's final form maybe is an reflection of her mental state. Ugly, bipolar, sinistral, evil, and many more.
This half-gothic masterpiece chased me for years! And now I hear this remake of yours... it's amazing! It became epic with a choir.
I had to fight Ultimecia a million times yet this song never got old.

@@RHH7288 u can also use holy wars and hero but that's cheating for me. Many use those on omega weapon as well. You are never hit with those items
@@RHH7288 If you spent a good portion of the game drawing from enemies until your spells are at 100, and junction up all your stats, it's a breeze. If you don't, yeah she can be pretty rough. They released a remastered version where you can increase combat speed 3x for much quicker grinding

Hope in Final Fantasy 8 Remake!
I hope if they eventually do it, they'll fix some issues with its story which were due to the short development time. Give Ultimecia a reason for doing the "Kompression". I'd make her be somewhat like Squall, if Squall never changed and kept everyone always away from him, and at the end she realized she screwed up her entire life and that's why she wants to destroy time. It'd be interesting to find Ultimecia's Diary and by reading it Squall recognizes that he would screw up his own life if he does not changes his attitude. Or something like that.
This one always gave me the shivers. I always thought of Count Dracula's castle with this theme. Your use of vocals adds to the dramatics. Thanks for sharing this.
This is making me so hyped, i can´t wait to know what Square has prepared us for the 20th years of FFVIII Release next year, i hope they make something good and give FFVIII the recognition it deserves as one of the most epic games of the saga.

Well given Sqaure Enix lately, they'll probably just give us a new digital drawing of Squall by Nomura, and say happy anniversary. Even that's pushing it though.

I'm sorry man but I'm pretty sure that Square is not gonna do anything for the 20th anniversary of FFVIII. Nothing major, anyways. I believe it's the least cared after game by Square.
That choir and the additional drum makes it even more epic and profound. Just Amazing !

Let me give you a sincere critics for this remake as a hardcore fan of FF8.
Your remake version is great on its own way, more modernized style. However, it lost some of the authentic essence of this song.
This theme represents a mysterious atmosphere, with a little charm, kinda feel both attractive and dangerous at the same time. Your background noise is a little overwhelming the main keys, and by adding more vocal parts, it now feels more intense, which is not quite suitable, the castle is not a massive battlefield, its a lair full of dangers but the dangers are lurking around, not reveal themselves yet. You still keep the gothic vibe in this remake, that's a plus.

Also as hardcore ff8 fan, with this song being one of my favorite tracks, I am forced to agree with this opinion. This theme would fit as a battle theme inspired by the dungeon theme. As if you ran into some sort of "Castle Guard" mini boss who appear as glorified chess pisces before moving forward into the final battle sequences. That being said, this should be best called personal interpretation of the theme rather than a remake or a modernized arrangement.
(We both must sound like pricks but, tis not a lie)

It's a nice take on the theme. Sure it lost its original feel, but it's still a lovely remix. I don't think it's a fair criticism unless the creator of the remix intended this remix to have close to the feel of the original. I don't think he was going for that.

This is by far the best remake by Enrico Deiana, and there are so many great ones to choose from.

Well, it’s certainly would’ve made Rinoa not as bland as she already was. Frankly, all the writing in the game is shitty; people who actually take it seriously are freaking dumb.

overall i think she is more successful then sephiroth , i mean jeah she didnt throw a meteor, but the meteor didnt kill anyone and she ruled over the world and terrorized it for a while ^^
What ultimecia lacked was a real endgame, its nice to know afterwards that she was always there just as edea but she lacks a endgame. The endgoal she had was fine for the 90s "rule everything"
@@TalesDelma That's because her spot wasn't designed by a mortal mind at all.. Ultimecia is just another victim like all the other witches: the actual villain in FF8 is "The Gift".
Furthemore It always existed during the Ages, so considered not himself, but the very Time as a variable.

I gotta say though the Harpsichord really makes it amazing
I don't think the choir works, Ultimecia was desperately lonely. The original was meant to feel desolate, so those empty spaces in it served a purpose and don't need to be filled out. To me this song was about her and her insanity building over centuries, an obsession with time, death, loneliness, leading to this grand idea of time compression. A single voice might work instead of the choir with less of the space filled in with bassy stuff
so like, if ultimecia was at home any day, would this be playing casually on a loop?

Tho imo I think the drums dont go well with the chorus.. I think it wouldve been more ominous without the drums in that part. Also the melody transition is a bit off but generally speaking its a good remix that'd fit an ff8 remake

I had to spam Holy Wars and Lionheart. Probably would have been easier if I hadn't waited until I was at Level 99...
Yeah if you had level 60 or 70 for example was so hard, it was sure that she kicked your ass, if you wanted beat her you had that be level 99
Well, surprisingly levelin in FFVIII was easy for me, I got to the last boss and I had Squall maxed already as far as I could remember.
I swear going through the castle and fighting the bosses for hours with this playing I felt like my mind was melting.
First things first! obligatory amazing track statement, as..well..it is indeed quite amazing. Secondly! seemingly required assertion of what we feel should be your next song to remaster! Evergreen from Castlevania III!
You've made it epic and powerful, also we find in it a very beautiful dark magical touch, the global rendition is awesome, I like it a lot :)

As we challenge the castle we are like lokusts swarming akross generations
this music always had so much complexity that it kind of outgrew the ps1 soundfont... so hearing the complex layers in this is so nice
I can feel the meaning of the song, more better than before. The real final boss place.
Castlevania meets FF8. I like it a lot but I prefer the original.

This sounds a lot more powerful than the original, perfectly representing Ultimecia's power, will and dedication to struggle against her fate. Uematsu's original is less dynamic and makes me think more of Ultimecia's true self and how she experiences isolation and loneliness within her own castle for who knows how many decades.

To beat omega weapon easily - throw a potion from one party member every turn to avoid any powerful attacks
Or get Laguna and Gilgamesh's triple triad cards. Those turn into 100 Heros and 10 Holy Wars. Then get Pets Volume 3, and teach Angelo Invincible Moon, and ONLY Invincible Moon. Omega will literally NEVER land a single hit on you the entire fight.
You don't even need to be over level 50, it's just that easy.

@@silenceundying Why waste good cards when you can steal Heroes from Seifer? That and Invicible Moon + Meltdown+ Aura and your Elemental Attack junction empty so that Omega won't absorb any damage.
