Once you understand FF8, you realize the masterpiece that it is and how grossly underrated it is.
tottally agree
How do u understand it?
The problem is you gotta go through the whole game and finish the last castle for it to come together.
Final Fantasy 8 isn't underrated
The story and atmosphere etc are great but you can break the game on the 1st disc. Not underrated because of that. No other FF can be broken near this early.
0:56 incorporating the ticking of a clock is absolute brilliance, I had to go back to listen to the original to see if that was part of it. Entirely your addition. Well fucking done.
Yeah that's actually a genius idea!
Omg..... omg omg omg.... one of the deepest, darkest and most iconic melodies.... and not only of ff8... I LOVE you man....
I love that guy x2 😘👉
@@ismad150kogs8 No. I love him more 😝😝😝
Yea, too bad this stage so short.
One of the most underrated tracks of FFVIII, for sure, and one of my personal favorites from the soundtrack. You stand at the end of time, from which all roads lead. All that lies ahead is the destroyed future, and the destroyer herself...are you ready to take the battle to Ultimecia?
All tracks of FF8 are the best
@@YazgothPL My personal favorite soundtrack of the series ^^ FF9's is also very good, but FF8 was not only my first FF game, but my first RPG ever...its music holds a special place in my heart.
I totally agree with you. By the way, i didn't really enjoy It before listening to This remake. And your comment made me think about It.
The music "the oath" or even "the landing" are still my favorite ones anyway. Cause they are So inspiring to me. The speech you have to make, to cheer all the students, but also cheer your self to convince every one including you that you CAN win This battle, and that you WILL. Always cheering me up 👍
your comment gave me chills omg..... FF8 owns my soul 🙏
So true man. FF8 Soundtracks create a feeling for me which no other music can!
This song is a perfect expression of despair and lament, and all sadly beautiful at the same time.
What an apt description
Tbh I didn't know I even liked this song until 4 or 5 years ago when I was unemployed and just waited around in a dark apartment all day for employers to call me. No friends and no money at the time. I wasn't necessarily depressed, but time started to feel weird and meaningless, like I was detached from it. That gave this song a lot more meaning to me as I felt like I was just drifting through time waiting for something - anything to happen.
I hope you've moved on and are in a better place.
Amazing interpretation, hope you are doing better
Final Fantasy VIII is a game that is not without its problems, but I feel bad for people who can't get through those issues to enjoy what is a pretty incredible experience.
This is a brilliant take on one of my favorite tracks in the game, and in the series. Great job.
"Hehehe I feel bad for you because you don't like the same video game I like"
lmao who gives a shit. Enjoy the game and move on with your life.
Indeed, FFVIII can offer a lot besides the classic trashing. Story goes deeper one may think and overall ambience is just unmatched.
@@WhiteSupreme he just means that the game has good aspects and is worth cherishing, unlike how people quickly jump on a bandwagon and judge it overall bad. But you instead, really give a shit, took issue with those words and tried to assume he was criticizing these people, smh . Dude, you are the one who should move on with your life instead.
I hate the card game; find the dialogue dubious. Love the over story, battle mechanics, level-up system, and SOUNDTRACK. Very unique to the series
my very first FF game I ever player, amazing experience. The only thing i hated about it was the annoying draw system where you have to spend hours fighting mobs to stock up on max magic. Rest was amazing even now.
when i reached this point of the game and the music came on it felt so haunting yet beautiful, i felt like i was lost in time
And it was only one moment when you can save game and hear this music or go on and never hear the full song. :-)
This remake really encompasses those first few moments looking on at the massive castle at the end of a titanic chain, almost alien in it's nature and presence. You get a feeling for the immense amount of magical energy there being squandered in the name of hatred and lust for power.
Totally! It's this feeling of wonder and dread and just general dissonance, all in one.
Me in the 90s: "The X-files theme will forever remain the spookiest piece of music ever"
FFVIII: "Compress my time."
20 years later on after playing FFVIII and get the oportunity to hear/listen this version of this song is just... surreal...
This theme is overshadowed in general cuz it comes in the pathway to the castle.
But boy is it good
And boy is this remix good... they should consider this guy if they ever did an ff8 remake
Yeah this one of the best themes in the game and you only hear it for a couple minutes. I've always thought it should replace the final battle music when she's actually compressing time.
@@cherub3624 Usually the case with some of the best themes, you only hear them once or twice in the game kinda like the Hilda Garde theme from FF9, it's the original airship theme but then gets replaced with another (in my opinion inferior) theme
@@zodzecht or Kingdom hearts 3 where you hear only 30 seconds of the best track.
Damn, the use of the ticking clock is genius.
I never realize it until I read your post
Beautiful. I remember playing this moment in the story, where reality all melted around the protagonists and their destinies truly mixed as one. Everything they grew up to know and understand as children was torn away as the true reality of the world they lived in was revealed.
beautiful remix i remember being a little girl sitting on the chain leading to ultimecias castle just to listen to this over & over so nostalgic
Same! One of my favorite remixes of this song is Everything = Nothing by Zircon. I promise you won't regret a listen
You must have a beutiful ass
YES!!! Or in that trippy white void, making sure not to go too far as to trigger a screen change.
Where can I meet a woman like you!
That's funny. I thought I was one of the only one's that did such a thing.. Truly a beautiful piece of music. 👍
This is honestly one of my favourite video game songs, with how it's peaceful yet exciting, how it feels chaotic yet predictable, etc.
*Compressed,* Time *Has;* *Denied,* Existence *Was.*
Is this quote from the game? It's awesome.
Fell asleep listening to this last night. I only wish it was 8+hours so I could wake up to it.
When I was a kid I only got to Adel and couldn't beat her. When I was older I replayed the whole game and words cannot describe what this song made me feel. It comes on shortly after you beat Adel and enter time compression. Made me think about my whole life to when I last played the game 20 years ago when I was a kid
This song with headphones is so good. It feels like a binaural beat or even asmr, when the trompete plays together with the choire and harp.
I love how you can clearly hear a clock ticking throughout the song. It really adds to the already heavy feeling of loneliness of this piece. At least that's how I view it.
Compression of time…
It's a terrifying and beautiful melody.
I think this might be my favorite rendition of this particular track. Well done.
I agree, this version much better than original 😳
absolutely underrated track in ff8, glad you picked it up and gave it the remake it deserves!!!
FF8 need a remake i'm a big fan ,i love your channel
Amem dude!
No habrá un remake de ff8 square perdio la base original del juego.
Lol finished ff8 over 50 times...🤤😍
Good news everyone! Remaster on the way!
@@harvest9121 the remaster is trash
I love the addition of clock ticking noise
it's one of the deepest songs in all ff franchise, congrats to all that aprecciated ff8
That base!!! I love it. Headphones full volume.
Man I remember hearing this track for the first time. One of the best placed pieces of music in any form of entertainment. The moment was so abstract and bizarre and this songs brings the time compression together. Thanks Enrico, you are awesome!
It's f**kin dark, such a song of tragedy at post apocalyptic world.
Most underrated theme in ff8
Everything about Ultimecia was made to be feared!! Even the lack of back story about her and her reasons was made in a way to be feared!!
Although in 7, sephiroth was also made to be feared, you knew how he looked like, the dimension of his abilities and his reasons! I personally think this made Ultimecia the most fearfull villain of this FF era!! And this soundtrack represents beautifully this concept. Standing in the compression of time, past present and future destroyed!! I never felt in others FF games, like the world is really ending as I did in FF8!!
Actually the going theory was ultimecia was Renoa in the future and the great beast " Lionheart" was squalls undying will to protect her. When he died his will enchanted his ring "Lionheart" and he himself became a GF thereby keeping his promis to be her night and to be by her side always. When Renoa gains the full power of time see looses herself because her entire life was just a moment in infinity which she now was. She remembered only that she lost something important (she loved him) but nothing more. The reason why there is a lack of back story is because the entire game was in fact her backstory.
@@franksegui4478 yeah but that one is just a fan theory and has been debunked by the developers themselves. They also said they wouldn't even consider this approach in a remake, I guess because Rinoa would never turn evil (and in fact, why would she).
@@hyperionalmasy I don't have a computer right now and my phone is hot garbage but I do remember reading about that. What they said actually didn't debunk the theory what they said was a very skillfully diplomatic answer that answered question that sounded similar to the question that was asked but not actually the question that was asked. In reality they never actually debunked it or confirmed it (and they never will if kind of ruins the magic). Tht being said the theory makes a lot of sense to the point where if it is actually wrong the game in my opinion makes no sense. It also fits into the Final Fantasy formula of making the first screens of the game seem like a simple introduction but In reality have much more meening by the end of the game.
FF 1 - first moron you fight and kill is the last boss.
FF2-6 - never played them
FF 7 - Aerith staring at mako goo leaking from pipeds. At end of game that very image is what you see when she sommons spirit to fight meteor. One of many details showing she knew the events of the future before they happened and planned for it.
FF 8 -Fethos Luset video showing clips of events that happen later in the game (seemed wierd cause they never did that before it almost felt like a trailer). They did this because the game was actually a time loop and the events shown had indeed already happened before you as a player actually see them happen.
FF 9 - Been a while since I played but I believe the play put on for the king
@@hyperionalmasy con't from last reply. ... For the king and queen was reminiscent of monkey boy and garnets love story. Also it sets up a touching ending.
FF X - The unrealistic way this monster comes and kills everyone but doesn't effect drunken sets guy and magically teleports the main character to another world was indeed unrealistic because it never happened and was just the back story the faiths implanted into his head to make him believe he was who he was and to help Yuna.
FF Xi - games from this point on where very different and in my opinion became lazyly written and not nearly as good. No longer follows the formula either.
Ff8 had so much of plot take. Out and was actually rushed to its release date . Imagine how much better it would've been if they didn't cut parts out
The first time I heard this I felt like I was about to take on the most legendary mission of all time. This track is so underrated. Great job with the remix.
Haven't even heard it yet and I know I won't be disappointed!
Edit: I presumed correctly!
The process is the following: you hit Like, then hit it a trillion more times, then proceed to listen.
FF8 remaster has been confirmed! Can't wait to experience this moment again
Can't wait to hear the voice acting
What new will remaster bring? Is it only the same game with better graphics like ffix versions??
@@onion_____ Laguna Laguna!
The sound moving back and forth between headphones too, so cool, all the little details. Your remixes take these memorable tunes to the next level, and always always always capture the essence of the original.
A Compression of Time remix wow!
It's little disappointing that this track doesn't get as much love or attention through the fandom unlike most of the others.
true fans know how great it is! lovin it since i first heard it
I just don’t like the sax :( it sounds goofy to me. I think a sine or square wave would’ve sounded better.
Most people don't play far enough to hear it, sadly. Such a hidden gem of a song!
@@De4daim "true fans" lul
For me this is FF8's version of City of the Ancients
Phenomenal. I’ve said it before but it’s like you survived the worst apocalypse ever but you still have to pick yourself up, move forward and try to help anyone you can
Is everyone ignoring the fact that he added the good stereo the original had aswell????? :O It's pretty impressive!!!! You're a God.
What a mindblowing song!
This melody played in my head when I was 15 every day. I also played ff8 about 7 times in my life and, for sure, it's the best ff in my opinion. Congratulations on the job! 👊
one of the best soundtracks in the whole game
This is straight perfection.
One of my favourite pieces of FF8, you did it justice!
Best remake I've heard. If they'd ever remake the game, THIS has to be in there!
19 years ago I heard this song for the first time, and saw Ultimecia's castle for the first time. "We're coming for you!" So many childhood memories.
This makes me happy. One of my favorite Uematsu pieces! Thanks!
This theme has always encapsulated that feeling of confusion, uncertainty and fear at the end of FF8 for me. This remake does it justice and feels very cinematic like I'm watching an FF8 movie or remade cutscene.
FFVIII is not a game is a life experience
My favorite Final Fantasy! This is awesome!!
Wouldn't mind hearing your take on The Legendary Beast theme. It could only sound amazing.
Nobuo’s masterpiece!
Every remake you make is amazing, much appreciated!
Beautiful job remastering this. One of my favorite tracks within ff8 ost.
This is amazing. Hyped about the remaster and discovered your channel. You're talented as hell! :D
I keep coming back to this. So well done.
This is literally my favorite video from you. Love it!
one of my favorite ff sound of all time. good work thanks
I listened to that song and I could only imagine how it would be to play a FF8 remake. The emotion of fighting a war among several time lines and this soundtrack playing. FF8 with nowadays technology would be totally awesome, with the carachters voices screaming the names of their attacks, Ultimecia saying - with a scary and deep voice - "TIME SHALL COMPRESS, ALL EXISTENCE DENIED". My goose bumps have goose bumps.
One can only dream. The thing is, if they remade it and nailed it, it would be a fucking masterpiece….but idk if i can trust modern day square to do that 💀
This is such a brilliant remake, and I freaking love the subtle tick -tock in the background, such an awesome detail, this is so good!
I've been waiting for this from you, dude. It's amazing.
Great sounds my man! Great freakin’ sounds! Keep em’ coming!
Hearing this in 5.1 headphones is certainly an experience O_O
7.1 Home Theater* is that best way to live this
My favorite theme and the most that submerged me into the ambience. My brain exploded from this part on forward! Loved all the game a lot, but loved it more from the part that you get Ragnarok to the end. My Favorite FF :)
Oh sweet, my favourite track from 8!!
1:45 is where I tear up 🥺
Very nice, it has a strange 'stringy' and dark bass-thing in the background that works really well. Can you do Lunatic Pandora next? I'm sure you'll do it justice.
Done
The strings in this song is what really gets to me..original or the beautiful version...the Strings never fail to make it hit differently inside
Your remixes are really one of the best.
Wow great job! I've loved this song as it was for the past 20 years but you managed to improve upon it. This is going into the playlist immediately.
Thank you so much! Happy you enjoy it
@@EnricoDeianamusic You're very welcome. I'm a composer and audio engineer myself. May I ask which instruments you used to create this? I usually use Omnisphere 2, Kontact stuff and some 8Dio instruments. The choral arrangement here is especially good.
@@seanyoung9014 I'm not totally sure, because I've composed this years ago. For the choirs I may have used Metropolis Ark 1 Choirs probably blended with The Orchestra, which has a patch for low dynamic voices which work really good!
@@EnricoDeianamusic Cool thanks!
FINALLY how it was always meant to sound in all it's glory! What a BEAUTIFUL remaster take on this classic! Thank you so much! So pretty!! And the...Horn? Isn't so harsh now. You really did a good job balancing it too! Fantastic tribute!!
Love this song, love that you have remade it!
Great as always!
Definitely one of the best songs on this OST. Thank you for this awesome remake!
Impressively powerful, very good job 👌
In the game I stand by the chains only to enjoy this masterpiece
So much yes
This is great dude thank you! Well done!
Instantly subscribed and liked. Love this song
Completely fabulous! Congrats!
Thanks For all your work
The horn instrument was always the most powerful touch they could've added.
The moment you enter time warp, and you hear that horn start tooting; you are guaranteed to know you aren't in Kansas anymore.
this is just awesome, great work.
This was so dope to listen to w my headphones. Thank you
You really make the best FF8 remix out there and i can't thank you enough for that!
I love the music and I love the graphical effect you choose for the background.
Magically otherworldly this.. excellent rendition!
It's THE music of FF 8 😍
And ragnarok pics 👍
Thank you
This is the theme where you know you have reached the final area and are about to go do battle with the sorcoress of time and existence itself.... *Ultimecia*
Whoa, very nicely done!
Nice Work, Square needs this!
You've captured the bleak atmosphere very well. This is why your remixes are the best.
Omfg! Thank you so much!! Love it!!!
Unrelated; could you do the legend of Dragoon Menu theme and Boss battle 3!?!?!?!?
Yes yes and more yes! I loved this game. One if my favs besides ff7.
Seconds this vote... Also play the game if you haven't. Strong story.
No question about what the fans want now!!
oh god someone still remember this game, its one of my fav
Doubtful. Dude's european and Final Fantasy is like the only JRPG we saw over here. I'm betting he makes most of these from nostalgia.
Nice clear remake thats very faithful to the original. good stuff!
You only truly understand this song if you are at a turning point in your life... and fail. And then spend hours to dwell upon the past, go through decision after decision to figure out what went wrong and why. At that point time literally compresses inside your mind, and past, present and future become one. Together with a burning desperation, begging the universe that you could just unmake that one mistake in the past that ultimately lead to your downfall.
Which is also the story of FF8 from the perspective of the villain, except that she can literally compress time and alter the past.
The soundtrack on this game is so good and deep that the character voices arent even necessary.
Great imagery for the video. It really captures the theme of the music.
You always kill it with the FFVIII remakes good lord. Chills.
Thank you so much for making this....
remember this epic track, never stop listning, when in the game, stop gaming and start listning to epicness :)
Thank you Enrico !!!!!!!!!!
