I distinctly remember pausing my game at the save point outside the castle so I could play this music on repeat in my room. Thanks for this trip down memory lane.
I haven't played through FF8 in a very long time, decided to go back through it now that I have forgotten most of it and discovering this song again has been a joy.
The struggles of Omega Weapon gave me a reason to fear this castle but absolutely love it at the same time for it's incredible music score. The bosses weren't so bad until you hit Omega Weapon then it was hell on earth
@@upon-fe2720 it was as bad as Angra Mainyu from Final Fantasy 10-2 the only way I was able to beat Angra was using the Berserker Dress Sphere kept them constantly on Rage mode with Regen, Protect, Shell so technically they couldn't be killed right away from constantly healing but doing barrage of damage on Angra for a good long while until it was finally dead. Absolutely a great series Final Fantasy is but sometimes it's super bosses is real hell that I can agree with you on you definitely gotta have a good strategy planned for some of them
Also you should play Legend Of Dragoon they have some bosses like that too and you gotta have the right load out teams for certain ones otherwise certain spells cast will insta kill your characters. Kongol getting hit with ice spells was the worst. The part of the game that had me always especially frustrated was when you got to the point of fighting The Grand Jewel now that was easily one of my banes of existence to Legend Of Dragoon. Legend Of Legaia was another great game too with some sure fire tricky battles. So many RPGs i miss playing lol
@@Ixtzalit There are a few things about it that jump up the challenge factor. Firstly normal attacks aren't just click and go unless your using the archer in your team. What I mean is besides the archer almost every character has a fighting sequence for an attack you have to time perfectly to get your normal attacks in for your damage and sometimes it can backfire when you have to hit different buttons cause of the enemies counterattack option and that's not the only thing. Some of your items also are interactable to where you have to repeatably hit the X button as fast as you can to get the maximum possible damage you can out of it. Plus sometimes you have to Guard which is a fight command that lets you prevent some damage that would sometimes prove otherwise fatal especially by some bosses. Also they do utilize status effects quite a bit in this game from your normal poison to even being blinded and later some more nasty ones that turn your party against each other even. It honestly depends on if you think that's more challenging or more of an annoyance just to progress. And more often then not your gonna need to do lots of grinding with each character to be prepared for any kind of battle especially since even your own characters have elemental weaknesses built in there's no negating it either. And some bosses especially like to exploit that weakness too when they know that character is weaker to it. Overall I'd say it has some equality into it for being challenging just as much as Final Fantasy if not sometimes far worse only cause of some of the reasons I just provided. Only way to truly understand the struggle is to play it which you can on PS4 it was brought back.
Havnt played ff8 but played this song in theaterrhythm and it is one of the best tracks in the game to me. I love the organ buildup to the mad craziness which describes the villain perfectly from what i have heard
Holy smokes, so did I! Every year I looked forward to playing this! I'd sit outside on a chair in an executioner costume with a bowl in my lap, hold absolutely still, and when they'd come for the candy, I'd just move my head to scare people. The music absolutely helped 🤣🤣🤣
Ultimecia Castle looks like a combination of Dracula's castle from Castlevania, the Red Queen's castle from Madness: Alice Returns, and Magus' castle from Chrono Trigger. NGL, that's what it looks like, inside and out.
I loved and hated this game so much. The gun blade was the lamest main weapon ever dreamed up and the spell-drawing was terrible. But damn the music was PERFECT. Absolutely spot on the best final dungeon theme I've heard.
Draw system was meh. It wasn't all that bad to go out and hunt specific monsters during the grind for drawing magic. The junction system, however, was freakin' FIRE (once you figured out how to use it)
WTF you talking about!? It's one of the best and beautiful depicted love story ever done in video games. And it takes brains to know how to work the draw system.

lol same
me imagino que también lo hiciste porque no podías la guardar partida dentro del castillo xd
0:00 what a beautiful and wonderful castle!
0:26 “OH F@@K!”
This track is peak Uematsu. Incredible.
なんと重厚で麗しい旋律か。
この城に至るまでのFF8は近現代〜近未来の世界観が前面に出ていたが、この城のBGMはそれらとは一線を画す中世的で重厚な音が溢れ出ている。大好きです。
Such a fantastic final area to a fantastic Game.

This song honestly fuckin slaps
I frequently clean my home to this and Vincent’s theme from FF7
Nobuo doesn't even sound human he's so good😭.
That harpsichord in this song is wild.
Haven't heard a final dungeon theme more better than this since...
This was such a challenge to learn on piano... epic is an understatement
Especially since it's written for pipe organ 😂 so you need to use your feet for the 3rd keyboard

Without strategy he's easily one of the hardest superbosses in the franchise. Hes no penance though.

This song is strange and I love it!

@@MrVilla124 lmao, exactly. I LOVE the beginning and then it just shreds in your face 😂
@@DefeatLust It makes sense as the place is filled with terrible monsters that spontaneously spawn from thin air. 😨
Both of Ultimecia's themes are all over the place.
I finally passed it after 20+ years 😆😆
Lol, well done Bro!
Genius. Pure musical GENIUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSS
Final fantasy viii the best game i've ever played
I love Final Fantasy 8 this part of the soundtrack is awesome, the atmosphere of this track is dark and beautiful

Halloween music 😈
I own the soundtrack on CD and used to play thus at Halloween time while sitting outside giving out the candy.

Organ is the best EVER ❤
Spent many hrs in this masterpeice of a realm❤🎉
The organ lives forever in my head rent free.
Beginning of the song: this is going to be a happy and whimsical song.
0:25: NOOOOOPPPPPPEEEEE
intro like fugue by Bach
I miss my childhood
I have to say that Final Fantasy VIII was very challenging. But I do believe that this is probably one of my favorite final dungeons in the series.
I ran around here for a while getting everything ended with this song stuck in my head DAMM SONG its so catchy.

i actually can play the first 50 secs on the grand organ....and it shakes the building if you really want it to....
Compression of time is my fave
Uematsu was speeeeeedin on this track
For me not the best final fantasy ever but the music just takes the cake tbh
Such a wonderful castle, too bad your powers gets stripped away
Honestly the bosses here are so weak that it doesn't really matter much. Kill like 2-3 bosses and boom you are back to being broken.
Stripped away only to be regained with the most amazing theme surrounding you as you do.
the challenge is what makes it superb
