Yes, one of great pieces of music that middle solo, guitar is great, drums also, and bass ,,, JA were a level above the bands at the time, it seemed that way to me anyway and I did live thru it. Perry made sure he derailed the fast rising band, who had just made two of the great music albums of that Era.... and standing the test of time, a band in amazing form
@@jasonwerner4335 Rolling Stone numbered this solo #100 in the top 100 solos of all time. To me it was in the top 50. At least it made the list. One of the greatest songs "to me" ever
And the solo he played live was better. This band opened the doors for Nirvana and such. They will hopefully get the credit they deserve one day. People like us already know. Back then, it was like a tribe. I suppose it still is. All the best to you mate. BA🏴🇬🇧♀️💉🎱
I remember reading an interview with Jane's Addiction, back in the 90s, where Perry Farrell said something like, he thought of his lyrics like a puzzle pieces for the listener to put together on their own.
The background on the cover is that this album (as well as the previous two) had nudity on it so they had to put something to cover it. Hence the 1st amendment instead. Good take Brad on the three days of Jesus rising! I never considered that angle. Janes Addiction is pretty unique as far as genre. It came from the LA rock scene which was mostly hair metal for that time. They had metal, funk and psychedelic influence. Primarily they were "alternative". Perry created the "Lollapallooza tour" for alternative acts. Janes and GnR helped break the hair scene apart, and set the stage for Nirvana and grunge to completely demolish it. Then what was formerly "alternative" became mainstream in the 90s.
If they were born 20 years earlier, everyone would forget everyone else at Woodstock. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the song is about a drug fueled three-way weekend. Or not.
, i first heard This lp when i was 16 when it came out one long hot summer in the UK ( no internet or 'smart' phones and the future was eternal amd infinite possibilities........now am 51 😂, such a epic song
The secret is in the censorship of the original cover art, a sculpture Perry made of the three lovers in three ways; Perry, Casey and Xiola. Perry based the cover art on this song but it got censored so it was released in a plain cover with the first amendment on the front.
God, I could listen to this on a loop for hours. This is the one that made me a Jane's fan back then. The connection you couldn't get was in relation to the three days between Jesus being killed and rising from the dead.
I saw the movie they made about this album in the 90's, in studio at the end of this track, some musicians were crying, very emotional. He losted his so loved girl friend of overdose in his house and he keep this body for day's and can't let her go. Sorry if i'm wrong but i was very hight that day 😵💫 and don't underand very well english. 🙃
A girlfriend of perry and his wife visited them after a funeral of a family member, and the 3 of them proceeded to have 3 days of drugs and sex or something like that.
They were forced to remove the album art, as it was deemed pornographic. Hence the black cover with the first amendment on it. Fucking brilliant album.
The lyrics have Gnostic Christian elements. Heresy to orthodox Christians, naturally. Perry, at least in several of his songs that I've noticed, show Western Mysticism (Qabalah, alchemy, etc.) influences.
Someone likely already alerted you, but this was an alternate album cover they issued because most stores wouldn't stock the album because they thought the artwork was pornographic. Censorship at it's finest. So they put out the album cover you are seeing.
I fell into, a sea of grass, and disappeared among, the shady glades. The children around me scream tag, and you are the one. He trips her as her sandals fail, she says stop. I'm a girl. Whose fingernails are made of a mother's pearl. Yellow buttercup. Helicopter. The. Angry. Bee. Mad. About. Somebody.
The album cover was banned at certain stores bc it had nudity in the artwork so they posted the 1st amendment only on those that were banned to make a point...

He is one of the most underrated guitarists of my generation

What an epic song! One of the best live bands ever.
This song and Stop! are my favorite Jane songs. This band brought us into the 90's with a silent roar. They remain a band that DEMANDS recognition.
I saw Janes first time in 1991, they were awesome. In a few weeks they will be back in Chicago, they will be awesome.
some of the best drum work ever produced
This whole song is a musical masterpiece. The guitar solo is easily the greatest in music history. It's simply incredible.
This song takes you on a roller coaster ride, and the ride is soooo good!!!

Perry was a positive peaceful person, he gets a bad rap, hero of many including myself

It's a mixture of metal too. Jane's Addiction was heavy metal. This track was calm for them.
I was on the side of the stage at the Hollywood Palladium for this song. Good memories.
Janes Addictions rise was a huge part in the death of hair metal.
Saw them live earlier this year and they are still brilliant. This song is amazing live. Perry Farrell has a real magnetism to him. Great front man.
holy crap, finally did three days
Now check out their track "Ted Just Admit It" 🤘
I was just thinking about that song last night.
Fun 80s and 90s alternative rock band.
Excellent work and such an amazing song!!!! Thank you Brad!

The second half of album is great on LSD
As I recall Three Days is a song about perry and his girlfriend having a friend visit for the weekend and spend it in bed together.
My favorite song from them! Thank you ;-)

One of their best
The original cover art had 2 women with nipples showing. It was released but then banned. They had to redo the cover and they used the Constitution.
Classic 90s alternative rock. I forgot how amazing this song is; thanks for posting!
Saw them in 87’ One of my fav concerts ever
Great song off of a great album...try Classic Girl or And She Did... any song really

Summertime roll
Imagine, you had no problems
I fell into, a sea of grass, and disappeared among, the shady glades.
The children around me scream tag, and you are the one.

Right on hand, different delivery. If I may??
There was a Mary Magdalene, a bit less Oedipal.
It's about heroin and sex and not knowing what you did you see the many sunrises but it's a blur
And...There are two different people in the bible named Mary. There are actually more, but two major ones.
You can tell Limp Bizkit stole LOTS from Jane's Addiction. The difference is Jane's Addiction were amazing, whereas Limp Bizkit were garbage.
JA certainly were amazing
But... where's Lex...?
Wheres your wife? Separate channel?
