For us 80’s kids that were into punk, metal, goth, alternative and new wave, Jane’s Addiction were the PERFECT BAND. They incorporated all genres and came up with something so original. Nice to see some of the younger generation appreciate them.
Thanks for the great reaction. IMHO, one of the most innovative an unique songs of the very early 90's.Amazng Jane's Addiction was born out of the 1980s's! Such a gift to music.
I have seen Jane's Addiction twice in the last 6 months, last time was March 7th, at a petite vintage theater house in Tucson, AZ, the infamous Rialto Theater. The last show was part of a micro 5 city, USA tour which concludes with JA joining the lineup playing 3 shows for a huge Lollapalooza tour in South America. The band played 2 hours straight, full stage show ~ the dancers, the whole shabango..... Best part was truly it all happening in that 100 year old charming, deco theater. That theater holds 1200, lol Oh yeaaaaaaaa ~ OOOOOOOOOH, WHAT A NIGHT! I went to both Jane's Addiction shows with my best friend I've kicked with since kindergarten, and at the Rialto Theater, we decided to trip on mushrooms.......... WHOAAAA ~ eat your heart out!
Saw this tour in 1990, I was 24 and saw them at the Masonic Temple in Toronto - I was front of the balcony, center stage. During this song I felt like I was suspended in midair in front of the band and threw my hands up like I was on a roller-coaster! It was like a religious experience! Sigh, the good old days. Anyway, thanks for another great reaction!
@@cityhonors1 so true! I was also blessed to see each Lollapalooza that came through Ontario until 1991 - but nothing compares to seeimg them in a small venue! Cheers!
I had these guys first two albums. Really loved both of them! I for some reason lost track of this band . Great song! Really brings me back to that time! Cool request! Thanks Nick! Great reaction , great to see your videos again my friend!
These things are tough when the person doesn't know the band, or it's origins. There was no orher band like Jane's Addiction, so to hear someone who doesn't know their music try describing it is difficult.
You know me brother, every band has an origin, so I suggest you start from the beginning to experience the way they progress over time. I'm very glad you enjoyed this one! Much love and respect!
This is a great song, but I must be old as I do not consider this the start of their career, since it was album 3. I would recommend something off the first album, maybe Jane Says.
Their first release was the live EP with excellent covers of "Rock 'n Roll" by the Velvet Underground and Sympathy for the Devil along with several originals that are also excellent!
@@CousinCreepy In the U.S. known as the XXX album though it didn't have a formal name. It was, I think, a demo tape to start, but Rock n' Roll transitioning to Sympathy is one of my favorite ever tracks -- from them, and in general. Genius.
NOW we're getting somewhere! Not for nothin', the "Three Days" movie is also epic, apart from the curious lopping off of the last five minutes of this song. Nice going, Dave.
Is it just me or are the 90's kind of the forgotten(not the word I'm looking for) decade for epic rock music? Well for those us who were there won't forget it!
That's Dave Navarro on guitar isn't it? An amazing solo, and beautiful tones coming through. I must listen to this album. Very good! Thanks Nick, I hope Alexia is feeling a bit better xx
🤯😲 Wait?!? What?!? 😲 What did I miss? 🤗 We're doing Jane?!? 🥰 Cool Freaking Beans! 🤗 They just played with Smashing Pumpkins! 🤯 OMG! 😁 This is gonna be fun! ☺️🐰
🤗 This Live is sooooo good! 🥰 Blessed to watch Perry be magic in all his many forms (Porno for Pyros and/or Kind Heaven) live! His recent Residency at City Winery NY was Magic! ☺️🐰
Dude put down the guitar and PLAY THE REST... I'm a fucking die hard fan in 48 and when my mother died when i was 16 i listened to them and that was it. They got me through some hard time and helped me get sober just listening to them. They bring me Up... no matter how many times i hear this song out still gives me the chills.... JA FOR LIFE
Fantastic track! As far as epic songs go, I’d recommend that Nick check out “Then She Did”. Actually this whole album is really worth checking out. Definitely in my top 10 all-time.
If you like Jane's Addiction, I recommend a little known band that's been around since the 90's, called "Spoonfed Tribe," out of Arlington, Tx. They were highly influenced by Jane's Addiction, Peter Gabriel, world music and tribal percussive music, while using psychedelic and theatrical visual elements during live performances, ala Blue Man Group and Stomp.
For this Dutch guy their magnum opus. Their best song like stairway to heaven is Led zeppelin's best song or....Child in time is Deep purple's., long exciting songs with different stages......Forgot to mention Nightwishes ghost love score(live wacken 2013) and poet and the pendulum (Wembley 2015)
Hey, I appreciate you liking the band. However, it makes me a bit shy about your expertise in music if you're just learning about Janes and Three Days now. It's sort of like saying you're a music expert but never have heard of the Beatles before.
The whole point of this channel is that we’re NOT experts and there’s so much we’ve missed because of where we lived (remote towns in Mexico). Discovering things out there is a part of life. Enjoy!
The greatest song ever written. It's a true masterpiece. From start to finish, it's absolutely perfect. (And boasts the greatest guitar solo ever!)
Probably the best song ever recorded in the history of music. 😊
In my humble opinion it is the greatest song ever written

Jane's Addiction "Nothing Shocking" Album Is A MUST HEAR From Beginning To End..TRUTH!!

a must see band & this is 1 of their best
Thank you for introducing this song to me.

😉 1990 was a good Tour year for them & Fishone/Chilli Peppers we're unforgettable that year also! 🥰🐰

Saw these guys playing a frat party at USC in 1987 😎
Insane.
Strobe lights in tin cans, punching holes in the drop ceiling…
Stephen Perkins is one of the most underrated Drummers ever.
This song is like an orgasm.
It’s their Xanadu / Phantom of the Opera / Close to the Edge.
Janes Addiction were blasted on beach parties in Ireland in early 90's because i had tapes and cd's 😁
MARLEY sighting!
Navarro = underrated
I think Navarro, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and of course Prince are the 3 most underrated guitarists of the 80s and beyond.
SO SATISFYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best song written and best live

I've Ben asking reactors for years to do this song also it's a true story the back of the song Thank u
Love Jane’s Addiction, such an amazing band. Saw them twice on this tour and (when they finally came on stage 🤬) and they were immense.
You guys might love Love and Rockets! Part psychedelic, part dreamy pop zen, part rock. Spans decades.

Classic Girl is another great song on Ritual

😎👍 THX and I hope you guys are feeling better soon.
Dissonant chords whether sung or played are moody as hell (Bach, Mozart, … Jane's Addiction)

Hard to listen to this and not go right into Then She Did immediately but stick with JA 86 - 91 and you can't go wrong. Perry was magic back then!
Not too familiar with this song, but three of their songs are on my playlist. Been Caught Stealing, Mountain Song and Stop
