Hey mate thanks for the video. I’m thinking about getting a WR 450 as well. I have a KTM 500 but would love to get the 450. I was wondering where are you guys riding? Is it on the east side of the freeway there. Just wondering whether you wouldn’t mind dropping me a quick coordinates so I can go around and explore. I often get out by myself and love exploring so that would be great if you could share that information. Thanks mate joe
Pretty much riding though wild horse mountain and Roy’s rd cross and though the pine forests. Heaps to explore man, look me up on Facebook unleached adventure and send text through messenger 👍
Im looking at one of these from Caboolture Yamaha. Did you uncork yours or do they do that already from the dealer for Australia as all the videos ive seen online they uncork them as they have emission items in the airbox and muffler on the WRs only which makes them alot more doey to ride.
Northstar did my one, but you should ask otherwise!!! they probably won’t, other thing is, I asked for the front brake hose to be changed out too. The muffler is worth changing out for my experience.
Epic little vid thanks mate. Have got one for myself on its way, and just trying to suss out what I want them to do to it before I pick it up. Appreciate your tip there about the brake hose, just wondering why you changed it out and what what you changed it out with?
@@BKWR450 The standard brake line is spongy, the bike comes with a braided line in the kit that you get from the dealer, highly recommend to swap over. cheers leachy ✌✌
How does it ride on the road in traffic? I want to use one as a commuter bike as well. Seems like the crf450l is a good compromise but can't buy new any more
If you use it as a commuter you get around 100 to 130 km, Not sure what that is in miles. I say supermotards wheels would be awesome for it especially a bit of fun on the blacktop, but again pending what you want to do with it. Ride on road is ok, seems to rev a far bit, otherwise a standard sprocket could be considered if you swap out for more highway use. Cheers leachy hope I’ve answered your question.
@@shaneleach1 , yes, you blokes are lucky in that regard! Here in the Colonies it varies through all 50 States. A common problem is that most enduros and MX's do not have a Federal emissions/safety sticker and some states look for that. And the MSO's are often worded "For Off Road Use Only", so that doesn't help, either. It would be great if Yamaha would send your version over here.
Yeah bro street legal wr 450, its registered under Australia's ADR rules, if your ride in the bush like we do worth have rego and insurance, better to be safe than sorry.
@@shaneleach1 cool thanks , I ride in California and Utah mostly so I need plates. The WR450 is awesome and the cost is way better than a ktm. Except they don't come ready to be plated. Thanks for the reply
Very nice! Fairly light for a 450 at 109kg.
website says it's 118 kg wet
If you added a street legal kit can you let us know where and what brand you are using? Thank you
I hope I cover your question above bro👍👍

Yeah beaty cheers mate, I'm in Australia to so street legal wr450s we are pretty lucky
When do I have to service it? and can I run it on the road for 3 hours or more?
I service my at 5 to 6 hours, and yes 3 hrs on the road is fine bro.
Hi mate. Beautiful bike, thinking of getting one! Where is that track?
Lacey creek lane at the back of Daybro.
NW of Brisbane 👍
@@shaneleach1 Long way but Thank you
Nice bike Leachy, where's the fuel cap ?? 👍👍🍻🍻
hidden under the front of the seat
@@shaneleach1 , you have to pull the seat to fuel it??
So then Yamaha still won't make a street legal version? Guess my money will go to Honda or Beta.
So in Austraila we have street legal bikes or we can get mod plates to register bike either it’s easy here on most models that can be registered.

@@PGF-TRAILS , seems Yamaha won't send this version to the U.S. I guess they want the sales to go to Beta and Honda.

too bad it's not street legal
Street legal here in Australia, in other parts of the world it’s not 🥲
