- In spite of Yamaha’s WR450F consistently being the biggest-selling off-road model in Australia for 25 years, it comes in for a complete overhaul for 2024. The new model’s ergos are slimmer, lower and more compact. There are sweeping changes to its bodywork, engine, clutch and transmission. It cops a heap of mass centralisation measures. It’s the beneficiary of a more owner-friendly Power Tuner app. And it’s been specifically evolved for Australian riders and Australian terrain.
But how does that laundry list of changes translate when it comes to the riding experience aboard this landmark new model for Yamaha? And have all those sweeping design changes been introduced in a coordinated, harmonious way? After riding the 2024 WR450F at the bike’s Australian media launch, here are our first impressions... - Спорт
Great review Andy, can't wait to have a ride on one.
Cool review m8 as u said all changes just work well together makes it fantastic bike glad I update to one
WRs dominating the off road world in Aus now I think, beautiful bike.
very good first impression!!! i was first onboard in 03 when the wrf 450 came out,(and what a beast at the time!!)went to a wrf250 in 07(loved that one!!),got tired of waiting for the new model in 13,went euro and loving it ,several bikes later.... just an older average punter who has to pay for a ride...have a 300cc 2t for in the bush....have a 500 4t for adventure riding (nz). slapping a 17ltr tank and having a 6 speed makes running a harder edged enduro bike so much more doable for me,(still get all goey over my xr600rs back in the day...)
I think you just helped me make my mind up on what I want to buy this year. Was looking at a YZ but this looks like it’ll suit my needs a lot better.
Was in same mind frame went with wr again and loving It a heap more then last model. It was a 21
I’ve got the 2023 Wr 250f last summer 11:12 that exhaust has got a gytr race baffle that opens the thing up big time how ever I couldn’t find one so I made one . The 250 has got 6 gears sure you need use a lot more throttle but I think it sounds awesome with the racing baffle in the exhaust being able to switch maps on the fly is awesome I’ve got to learn how to use it . It’s not hard but it dose take a little while to find the settings you want
Can you please test a Sherco 250 / 300 SEF.
W review
How about the smaller fuel tank- less range out on the trails
Reckon fuel range has increased if anything prob 5/10 is not much but just get a little more then my 21
@@robertjolliffe4164 2023 model 7.9 L vs 2024 model 7.4 L= 1/2 litre less. How does that result in an increase in fuel range?
@@MP-gq4uj must be more efficient m8 but take that white colour outta the tank 1st
@@MP-gq4uj definitely taller gearing on 24 models
Im getting the WR450F 23 model today. Is there much of a change between the two?
Yes
That gives me heaps of information @@robertjolliffe4164
Considering you had limited testing, that’s a fair review. If only they would put a 6th gear and a hydraulic clutch in it, I would update from my 21 model
The new YZ450’s have a hydraulic clutch option, it might work with the WR450F being they’re almost the same platform.
Brembo do make a hydraulic clutch conversion for this model.
Dosent need them m8
I got the 250 only for the 6 gear they should change their 450 nd put one
@@simonfournier6480 why do u want a 6 th gear m8 ?
No doubt any of the 450's will work well at speed, the question is will they cross over enough into the 300 2t to make them an all day tight 1st and 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear trail machine? Throw in the Sherco 300 with its revisions too please.
no
These bikes are having airbox sealing problems and the belleville in the clutch is too weak, Yamaha need to address and recall these issues before people go and pay 18k for them.
The airbox and clutch belleville share the exact one with the YZ 450 23-24 research these issues.
Yer ok I haven’t had any problems with mine m8 got 20 hrs on it
Beta better?
It’s still a five speed, WTF? I thought this was 2024?
Where wood u need a 6gear
@@robertjolliffe4164. I only ride registered enduro bikes ( I will only trailer to a location if absolutely necessary), sometimes I need to do a quick highway stint to link trails ( I am blessed to live where we have an abundance of state forestry). With highway speed limits of 100 & 110 kmh 6th gear will be used.
Website says 6 speed
@@KevinAllred2077 on the 250
@@KevinAllred2077 don’t believe everything you read on the internet. It’s still a 5 speed.
Stop rambling get to the point sorry
