The table was stunningly beautiful once restored but so much work to do it especially on those carvings on the legs. You did a wonderful job and so sympathetic to the piece 😁 Sorry about long comments just ask David and Jay I probably annoy them with them too 😂😂 Dolls house is amazing I can't wait to see what you do with it 😁
@@RhooseRestorations Does it mean we've spent to much time on the internet when we know exactly who is meant by using the common name of Jay and exceedingly common name of David?

Beautiful piece. I like that you didn't strip too far into the carvings on top of the legs, it's just enough to reveal its age and it looks good. Nice work
That veneer looks very attractive, now. Regarding that piecrust moulding, I was looking at an old woodworking book from about 1948, the other day. The author addressed that kind of situation by suggesting shaping pencil rubbers to form mouldings and then wrapping sand paper around them, so you could have various "hills" and "hollows" to get into tight spaces.
You are right to be wary about the dust. At the height of the Covid pandemic I was a bit short of breath; my wife took me for an x-ray. What they found was not Covid-related but sawdust. I have been more diligent about wearing a mask since then.
Good to hear that you are thinking about H&S. I've worked in the steel industry for over 40 years and understand the importance of safety. In a steel mill your first mistake could be your last!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful project!! You did an amazing and meticulous job!! A little love in the hands of a master and she really stands proud!!
Thats a pretty little table and it looks much better now. You were very patient with the scraping. Well, I’d forgotten about the “bird accents” you showed us in the beginning, so as I saw your title, I was trying to figure out where the bird accents were. I thought that maybe the carved elements on the legs were somehow birds. My husband and I looked and looked, but no. Those carving just weren’t stylized birds. Then I thought that maybe the top was a bird’s eye wood, but no, that wasn’t right. So FINALLY I figured it out! You’d cleaned the “bird accents” and my hunt for birds in the carvings was futile!

Lovely job on the table. Keeping it simple is often the best. With what look like triplets, I'm not surprised her head fell apart. Not knowing where your skills are at ceramic repair I suggest Ali from The Ceramic Repair Studio for mum's sore head if you need a starting point. Ali does a lot of simple repairs on fine ceramics without a lot of the expensive set up of other shops. Following her methods I managed to repair a delicate vintage tea bowl with minimal signs of repair. I am happy not to go to the next stage of perfection. If you are correct about the family, and dad's suit and the son's hair does suggest that, you could try an antiques dealer or dolls house fair for confirmation. They will be worth a bit too, so maybe see them before attempting a self repair on mum.
You do really good work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 But please get/make yourself a proper staging wall or space to show off these pieces well. Sorry but your garden doesn’t do your pieces justice.
Great job 👍👍 Almost identical to the table I did apart from the carvings on yours. The burl grain is beautiful 😀👍
Thank you for taking the time to watch, it's very encouraging to hear from established creators! 👍

Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
Love the light tone of the wood
Yes, it was nice
What a lovely table!! Excellent restoration!
Thank you very much!
Such delicate scraping of the wood surfaces. This really added to the restore of the legs and top.
Thanks for the kind comments
the tabletop is just lovely.

Thanks, retaining the age of a piece is always the aim if possible

I need to get some more ancient woodworking books, they're full of useful tips!!

Beautiful top on that table
I love it!
Beautifully restored.

Such a beautiful table! Thank you for sharing.
What is the name of the risers under the legs?
They are Bench Cookies from Bench Dog Tools. Not cheap but are really good when sanding etc.
I’m glad you wore a mask, because bird guano isn’t the healthiest thing to inhale, either. I love your attention to details.
Thanks, H&S is important in the workshop, especially when you don't know where items came from!
