Back in the when love songs actually meant something to people
They still do. Have you heard of Steel Panther?
Love songs don’t exist-pop musicians today, if you want to even call them musicians, don’t feel love-It’s all sex and revenge
I agree songs meant more back then
Amen!.
I was saying that to a friend recently
He got his jaw broken in a fight and had it wired shut. He actually went on tour like this in 1969 and has sung this way ever since.
Peter Cetera has the PERFECT ballady voice - and has SO many amazing songs. With the group - and solo work as well. You must listen to Glory of Love and You're the Inspiration. He also has the cutest solo song called Daddy's Girl. Very very sweet :)
Oh boy, this here is a rabbit hole is worth diving into. Chicago’s music is fantastic and the back story of when they started out and the tragic story of Terry Kath, their lead guitarist and singer is truly heart wrenching. Check out the documentary Terry Kath experience. Thanks for this reaction!
I will have to check that doc out I remember when this song came out
Love Chicago! You can search and listen to any of their songs and NOT be disappointed! I particularly like 'Does Anybody Really Know What Time it Is". Just fantastic!
Be sure to check out Leonid and Friends from Russia. They are a Chicago tribute band that play them to perfection live. Any song! Danny Seraphine also played with them because he loved them so much.
I grew up with this great band from the 70's-80's. They were a rock & roll band with horns & blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, & pop music. They had a lot of great songs such as "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", "Beginnings", "Questions 67 & 68", "I'm A Man", "Where Do We Go From Here?", "Free", "Lowdown", "Saturday In The Park", "Colour My World", "You're The Inspiration", "Will You Still Love Me?", "Look Away", "Feelin' Stronger Every Day", "Old Days" etc.
Peter Cetera has such a great voice!! Can’t go wrong with Chicago! I love You’re the Inspiration!
My brothers and I saw them in concert 6 times, they were our favorite band back in the day. My favorite songs were Colour World, Saturday In The Park and If You Leave Me Now. Thanks for your reaction.🔥
A great classic band. Hope to see more of them.
25 or 6 to 4! Especially the Tanglewood Concert!!!
Beautiful song from Chicago. So sweet and romantic.
Chicago 17 is one of my favorite albums ever. Had it on cassette and about wore it out 😃
Amen to that
The list they got is very long. They are a great band. Lead singer Peter cetera even went out on his own and has some great hits!
The brass was VERY subtle in this one.
Peter Cetera is the lead vocal. Smooth like glass.
Peter Cetera...on par with Steve Perry back in the day....back when rock singer could really SING!!! Chicago was amazing.
I agree!
I'd add Kenny Logins and Jimi Jamison from Survivor to that list, but Peter Cetera was my favorite.
@@lamarravery4094 Agreed
One of the greatest bands. Please react to more from them. Also Peter Cetera has amazing solo music.
Chicago has had two lead singers. Terry Kath the Peter Cetera. Great reaction.
Do you mean *Terry Kath??
Yes! Typo! Thank you!
Actually they had 3. Robert Lamm, on keyboards wrote and sang many songs. He did "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is". On "I'm A Man" all 3 singers took different verses starting with Terry Kath, then Peter and lastly, Robert.
There were three lead singers, but Peter sang about 90% of their hits, so that really makes him the voice of Chicago and the main lead singer.
"Four Marines didn't like a long-haired rock 'n' roller in a baseball park," Cetera later recalled in the liner notes to the Chicago box set. "And of course I was a Cub fan, and I was in Dodger Stadium, and that didn't do so well. I got in a fight and got a broken jaw in three places, and I was in intensive care for a couple of days.” Seraphine recalled exactly what transpired In his autobiography Street Player: My Chicago Story: "'F-ck you, hippie,' one of the guys told Peter. He got up from his seat and pushed Peter down the aisle. When Peter regained his balance and started back up the stairs, another guy from the crowd hauled off with a right hook and hit him square in the face.” “I had a broken jaw and I was wired shut for a few months,” Cetera said in 2009. “And when they cut the wires off, I was always afraid of my jaw sticking open again, so I don’t really open my mouth a lot when I sing. Peace out
It so refreshing to go through these reaction channels and be able to enjoy these classics with fresh perspective from the youth of this generation
AB- check out Billy Vera and the Beaters “At This Moment.” I think you’ll like it
Glory of love, You're the Inspiration, Look Away. ❤Chicago 😊
Probably the best and most famous ballad from the 80's.
#1NJFan here. This is one of my favorite Chicago songs. They have a greatest hits of love songs in the 90s that is just killer. Peter cetera (singer) has solo albums that are all ballads (Glory of Love- karate kid soundtrack solo album). Awesome reaction brother 💯🔥👍🙏😄
Peter Cetera is the lead singer ❤❤❤
You have to do their song,”Hard Habit To Break.”
Chicago the band is sort of like the Doobie Brothers, their early work and later work is quite different even though it's all very good. Early Chicago with Terry Kath is more rock driven, after his untimely death it got smoother and more top-40 radio friendly. For early Chicago, you should try the live version of 25 or 6 to 4 (live at Tanglewood) with one of the most phenomenal guitar solos you'll ever hear. A later Chicago hit that's unique is Wishing You Were Here with none other than the Beach Boys on backing vocals.
I like the later "Chicago" best. Peter Cetera's voice was awesome.
When my youngest son as a teenager found my 8 track tape player he was so lost. I played a chicago 8track tape for him. That is one of my best memories.😊
I love "you are the inspiration" it has so much meaning to me.
I will be here for ALL the Chicago you can throw at us! ❤
It’s funny. Before I watched this video w/you, I couldn’t have said who any of the band members were, but somehow I didn’t expect them to look like *that*, lol. I’ve listened to their music since their heyday in the ‘70s, it just never occurred to me to wonder (or care) who they were as individuals. They were just “Chicago”. 🤷♀️😄
That guitarist is a beast 🫶🏾 I love Chicago
The lead singer, Peter Cetera, is one of my favorite singers. He got used to singing like that when he had his mouth wired shut for a good while.
Peter Cetera was an amazing vocalist
One of the best rabbit hole journeys you'll ever take...that is if you're willing!!😉😉 Epic band!!!! 💕💕🎵🎼🎶🥁🎤🎙🎸🎹🔥🔥🔥🤘
I'm one of the biggest Chicago fans ever. Love them so much, have been to many concerts and I own every album they've ever put out. That being said, you folks need to do a search for Leonid & Friends and listen to their Hard To Say I'm Sorry. They are the ultimate tribute band and if you know Chicago like I do, you'll see that they play virutally every song note for note. Since all of the original Chicago guys (inlcuding me) are old dudes now, Leonid & Friends are a re-birth of Chicago. Catch one of their concerts. You won't be disappointed. The singer will remind you of Peter as well....
I saw them in concert a few years ago and they were incredible! Such an amazing group.
Now go see their “ heirs” - blessed by Chicago themselves. On YT, Leonid and Friends from Russia. Their Chicago tributes are PERFECTION. ❤
MAJOR group in their day.
Peter Cetera is one of my absolute favs...so many great songs.
Favorite song ever. It's true. Nice reaction, man.
Peter Cetera has a beautiful voice! He is very good at his craft singing, made effortlessly!
Saturday in the park, 25 or 6-4, your the inspiration, does anybody really know what time it is, and Soo much more. Can't go wrong.
Chicago has a lot of great songs, but there is a big difference between their early work and the ballads of the 80s. Peter Cetera does have a really distinctive voice. My favorite early Chicago song is 25 or 6 to 4. It has a phenomenal guitar solo.
Peter Cetera should be more well known. He had that iconic awesome tenor voice that no one can ever duplicate. I just wish we had more new music from him but he retired a few yrs ago. But I grew up listening to this voice on the radio and to me he's the best.
Peter Cetera the lead singer is amazing!!! He’s done duets with Amy Grant and Cher! Chefs kiss
Glad that you discovered Peter Cetera. He has the best & most unique voice in music
There's no one like Chicago. From the instruments to the vocals. More Please☮️
The Lead singer is Peter Cetera. And his voice is always wonderful.
good call!
Classic 80s ❤
Any Chicago song is worth it.
That's Peter Cetera. He was one of, and the best of their singers.
Listen to Saturday in the Park. Great song.
I saw them twice in concert.
Wait til you hear their horn section.
25 or 6 to 4
Live at Tanglewood or the studio version! Believe me, you will not be putting them a box!
Terry Kath kills it on guitar as well as the rest of the band. Jimmy Hendrix heard Terry Kath and asked them to tour with him. Amazing!🔥🔥🔥
I grew up listening to Chicago
Peter Cetera had an amazing voice
Cetera had his jaw wired shit years ago that’s why you see him sing thru his teeth. Gives him his signature sound.
Great reaction! Please do more Chicago... Hard habit to break is my favorite, then You're theinspiration & sooo many more😊❤
You should watch them live they still sound that good
Absolutely love them a lot of the 80's rock ballads still in love with him
Peter Cetera is the guy who is singing it. He has a lot of awesome songs. My top four would be you're the inspiration, glory of love which is the song they played in karate kid, hard habit to break, and look away. You really need to react to them three songs when you do glory of love do the official video the soundtrack to karate kid?
Go way back to Chicago 25 6 to 4, Saturday In the Park, Terry Kath was the other lead singer.
Love this song!!!
I actually saw Chicago in concert when I was 16! That should tell you how old I am… 😂
25 or 6 to 4 is their best song by far
Peter Cetera and Chicago - great choice! They started out at Chicago Transit Authority - also the name of their first album. I grew up with Chicago (and the Carpenters and John Denver). You can't go wrong with Chicago!!
I remember listening to their music from a cassette in my dad's truck 😄 thanks for the reaction and the memories 💖🦋
Check out Chicago hard habit to break or you’re the inspiration both amazing vocals
I don't think I've ever been so early to one of your videos haha. I love your reactions! Have you reacted to Meatloaf yet?
♥♥♥
You got great taste in music and your beard always shines so pretty I love it🔥✌❣
He had his jaw broken in a brawl.
now we gotta hit him with that Az Yet/Peter Cetera version
Chicago are awesome! Please keep reacting to them! Love your reaction!
One of the best love ballads❤
Please check out their song *25 or 6 to 4*
Color My World, 25 or 6 to 4, Make Me Smile, I’m a Man, …
The singer is Peter Cetera
You can do a long haul on the Chicago catalog.
Chicago 🤘🔥🤘
I kinda prefer their older stuff with Terry Kath on lead vocals…. But that’s just me.
Hard Habit To Break next?
Please do "Look Away"
Yes 🙏
I think this may be a shortened version of the song... it's missing the great instrumental break down.
The ending “Get Away” is what MAKES this song and it always gets left out! 😢😢
ua-cam.com/video/ci_SZnNUlOs/v-deo.html - has the additional music!
@@nettiemac yes! Thank you for the link to that version. 🙂
Peter Cetera is an awesome singer
You blew it dude...the song goes into an ending called The Getaway and it KICKS ASS. You really need to listen to this again with that ending piece. To me it's not nearly as good without it. You miss a terrific drum fill starting it up , those tasty horns sounding the climax of the track and a bangin' finish. Please check it out.
I'm pretty sure that the lead singer was Peter Cetera
Listen to the Az Yet cover of this song ft. Peter Cetera. You’re welcome.
Has anyone ever suggested to you the band “Boston”? More classics.
Music in movie karate kid
Hey AB, you need to check out Dan Vasc. Metalhead sings Amazing Grace! Wow!!!!❤
A este tipo de bandas y canciones, tenes que escucharlas con mas atencion, es un sano consejo 👌
Why do reactors not do the HtSIS with the Get Away ending? Seriously, any amount of Chicago knowledge will tell you it is BY FAR the superior version of this song. It's like doing 25 or 6 to 4 without doing the Tanglewood version guitar solo. just silly really.
Chicago/Peter Cetera is almost a guaranteed 3 out of 3 hits.
I am a man who will fight for your honor
He got jumped and broke his jaw... It was wired shut for 4 to 6 weeks
Please try 25 or 6 to 4. That’s the name of the song. Just trust me!
😂😂😂❤
