Gravik (the guy with the arm thing near the end of the trailer) is not a mutant, he's the leader of a radical faction of Skrulls rebelling against Talos and Fury. Emilia Clarke plays a Skrull named G'hia, the daughter of Talos. She is loyal to Gravik and the resistance. Her character was first seen in Captain Marvel as a child.

This is more of what marvel needs, serious stories with serious characters I’m honestly happy that they dropped the comedy in a trailer for once.

@@borntogazeintonightskies and that is why Marvel lost so many viewers after Endgame because it is for children and teens Marvel use to be serious with few moments of joking where it actually worked .now all we have is jokes with few moments of seriousness were character don't take themself seriously and are perfect without flaws plus bad writing

@@queenxx1690 You can be an adult and appreciate childish/teenage elements though. Conversely, some adults prefer humor to alleviate the seriousness of heavy movies, because no humor just makes it overbearing and/or exhausting because there is no relief from it all
This isn't a black and white world where full seriousness is inherently better than serious-with-comedy-elements (or vice-versa), or that a comedy-heavy series inherently means it's impossible to take seriously. The real problem with some Marvel fans is that they refuse to accept anything but 'how things were'... when that would inevitably get boring, and even if it happened, said fans would immediately complain that it's all the same as if they always thought so.
I for one appreciate the fresh takes of Marvel's latest stuff, and look forward to how it will all eventually tie together. I would much prefer that compared to more of the same, and/or 'only serious' movies
@@Omegafire17 i understand, im all up for the different genres and takes on marvel movies, but for me ig it just didnt entertain me as much. i havent seen any marvel content apart from moon knight and i dont really recall a lot of what happened before then. if i wanted corny light hearted jokes, id watch slice of life anime and other chill shows.
Last time I saw Nick Fury was in Spider-Man Far From Home. I really miss him.

9:11 Nick's had an eye patch since we met him in phase one. There's nothing new about the scratch on his eye. It was revealed in Captain Marvel that it was scratched by that powerful space cat, that's not actually a cat.
Whole way they talked about Skrulls makes it seem like they haven't watched Captain Marvel at all
I wasn’t a fan of how they did that. It kinda takes away from the badass “you need to keep both eyes open” line in Winter Soldier. I will admit it is kinda funny that he just lets the other SHIELD/SWORD agents believe he had his eye burned out by the Kree but idk, having a Flerken scratch him after being petted too much just seems kinda less cool.

I'm not gonna lie I saw groot abilities in that villain I don't think they can mimic abilities but the super skrull can so honestly I hope it leads up to him I think super skrull would make for a sick villain in fantastic 4

Your reaction hints that you may not have watched the first trailer (this is trailer #2). Please watch the first trailer too if you haven’t. Some of the same scenes but some relevant differences.
If Nick was in space when Dr. Strange did the spell to make the world forget who Peter Parker was, then does Fury know who Peter is.
It’s implied and assumed that the real Nick Fury has been in space and Talos has been disguised as him since at least Age of Ultron. So, technically, he wouldn’t even know of Spider-Man’s existence. This is just a fan theory tho.
@@MikeP828 How is that implied? They weren't even planning on making Captain Marvel at that point. The guy who was standing in the way of production of Black Widow, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel was still working at Marvel Studios when Age of Ultron came out. Was it implied retroactively somehow?
@@rickyd-lux9067 yeah it’s more of a retroactive implication. There’s a line in Captain Marvel where Carol asks Nick to reveal something that not even a Skrull would know, and Fury reveals he can’t eat bread when it’s cut diagonally. In AoU, he’s preparing a sandwich on diagonally cut bread. Could just be pure coincidence, but could also be a retroactive giveaway.

They won't introduce the F4 in a random D+ show. They didn't show up at the end of WandaVision, and they won't show up here. They'll get their own film, or be part of an epic event

I heard secret invasion takes place during the 5 year blip after Infinity war but before endgame which would explain why Nick fury was a skull in far from home!!!

Finally, the Marvel series is really going to be dark
We’re in phase 5
The way the mcu is at atm there’s no avengers(at least the public knows) everyone’s off doing their own thing but now we’re getting villains high powerful ranks with Ross becoming President, Kingpin becoming Mayor and Kang being the big threat
there is this old cartoon show avengers assemble that ran for 2 seasons like a decade ago but was not continued...there is a skrull arc in that series and it gave me a bit of knowledge about new characters...the skrulls in that series, impersonates a lot of heroes especially avengers... if i remember one skrull copied captain america... the series was great because it has a bit a dark but good story and was a bit surprised that it is a cartoon show for kids...anyway i'm excited to see on how they will do the story in here... G'iah played by emilia clarke, i don't know if they will portray her as an enemy here or an ally since i think she is part of a resistance... the Giah character is also in the avengers assemble cartoons too... i don't even know if Daisy Johnson AKA QUAKE played by CHLOE BENNET is in this, since there are rumors of here doing a cameo here... even she denied in her twitter that she is not involved and said she does not even know what secret invasion is...she was suppose to have a project called powerpuff girls but somehow this show or film was unaired and she had scheduling conflict so she dropped out in that project...if ever there is another trailer for this, she might be in it...if not well that's fine too, maybe they will include her later on in another show...

I hope that wasn’t a mutant. Seems a bit much to explore Skrulls and mutants in one show since both factions are still heavily unexplored in the MCU.

no, NOT mutants. The series deals with secret infiltration by a radical faction of Skrulls, the shapeshifting alien race first introduced to MCU in the first Captain Marvel movie. A Skrull was also briefly shown in this trailer. Nick Fury and others get embroiled in a political intelligence war with these radical Skrulls, and perhaps also with other intelligence agencies.
"Where Are The Avengers?" - well... Tony: Dead; Nat: Dead; Hulk: Unclear; Hawkeye: Retired; Wanda: Gone Evil; Cap: Old/'On The Moon'; Thor: Who Knows; Vision: Dead; Spider-Man: Forgotten. Did I miss anyone?
I guess there's New Cap and Bucky, but this all depends on where this is in the timeline too (relative to She-Hulk, Falcon & Winter Soldier, etc).

The trailer looks cool, but I'm not fully exited for it. Hadn't really enjoyed most of the show's that Marvel put out but this look's interesting, has a similar tone from the Winter Soldier so hopefully it's good.

Preach Mickey! I'll be harsher. Phase 4 SUCKED. With a few exceptions, it felt overlong, saturated and too many damn projects. Plus, the CGI was trash.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks mid af?! Just a couple of superheroe references in one of the most exciting Comic Arcs of the modern era, when in the comics it was all about the heroes and villains (hundreds of them) fighting and being paranoid not knowing who the Skrulls were... even at the start of this arc we get the illuminati getting together to discuss this issue.
Here we just get secondary characters nobody cares about (except Nick Fury) being all dark and mysterious. It's truly shameful to see with how little modern Marvel fans get excited for.

Let's not buy the narrative of frequency. The artistic talent (directors, writers) has been sub par compared to the talent we use to have. Disney sells another reason why their properties are failing is the activism/pandering/social justice message. Oh, not excited. Just to disappointed with Disney Marvel/Star wars/Pixar..just all across the board

Not to just counter Micky, but if ever think Marvel was releasing from Phase 4 to start of Phase 5 was heat no one would be complaining.
Even Disney realizes that because Kevin Feige and Bob Iger have talked about it in interviews. They are refocusing on quality over quantity and there have been several problematic individual fired from Disney/Marvel relating to this.
Also they have delayed Phase 5 and Phase 6, so we get less shows and movies so they can focus on quality.
I'm saying that too much quantity was the reason for poor reception. No I think the writing and execution has just been dog water for a long time. They got to chill with the dumb comedy and stop the wokeness because regardless of agenda I don't want to be preached at.
Bruh the “wokeness” you speak of comes from comics from the 80/90s.
