I’m from the uk and whilst we get snow sometimes but when I visited Austria on ski mountain village trip with school that was crazy amount of snow let alone seening mountains.
Reminded me of a fellow passenger on the way to the Philippines from San Diego, California back in 1988. It was already hot in Southern California, so he was wearing just a red hawaiian shirt and shorts. But when we got to Tokyo from LA, it was cold and we had to use the stairs. Meaning we have to walk down the tarmac. It was ok for me for I had a jacket. (I know it was cold in the airplane plus my papers was in the inside pocket) That passenger has no jacket so he was in a hurry to get up the stairs. When the flight attendant (then called stewardess) asked him why easn't he doesn't have any jacket, the passenger sait it was hot where he came from. Plus, I think he knew it would be hot in Manila. I just smiled.
That was exactly me when I first visited a cold country during winter. The first reaction of the outside, took the wrong clothes and had to put on most of what I had inside my luggage Lol love this movie!
I used to love winters in Canada, but after over five decades of it I dread it every year now. -35c and you have to clean your car off at 5:30am? Hard pass. Ugh.
@@zzodysseuszz Not just snow either. Sometimes your vehicle is encrusted in ice and it takes forever to break it up and to de-ice the windows. If you hit my channel and scroll down a bit on the community tab you can see a pic of my car buried.
Me too. Was in Toronto around winter of 1986. Two years before the Calgary Winter Game. Yeah, have to wear a sweatshirt over my t-shirt then a winter jacket, scarf, a jeans, and two socks. It is still cold.
That happened to me a couple of years ago. Growing up I lived in Connecticut, so I was used to playing Hockey in the cold weather. During College I moved to the Carolina's I had been there for a few years until I decided to go visit Boston to see my cousins and my friend in February. I was wearing my Baseball Hat until my ears immediately started freezing with the heavy winds. I forgot the warm weather in the Carolina's didn't exist in Boston in the Winter Time
felt like that when i did my trip to DC. it was insane six layers and i was still cold. the fact it snowed that night really sucked especially from a guy from florida with zero experience with snow and cold.
Try Queensland Australia. Shits hot here even for other aussies. I literally can’t comprehend snow. I’ve only seen it in movies and the only time I’ve seen ice was when I went to an ice skating ring as a kid a long time ago. I think I would literally end up in the hospital if I travelled to a place like this
And the 90s was packed with this type of country music. Many say it was because of Jimmy Buffets influence, I’d like to think it’s from this movie! Haha
Reminds of when I flew back home to Philadelphia from Florida one year. When landing we saw this white stuff on the ground and thought it was sand, but it was snow. When I got out of the airport I was cold and shivering and my Mom asked me if I was cold, when I reminded her that when I boarded the plane it was in the 80's and now it was in the 20', so yes I was cold.
I was once snowbound in Philadelephia and had to stay overnight in a hotel before being routed to Munich the next day just to get home to England. The snowstorm was insane
I forgot about that line, "It's not so much the heat, it's the humidity that'll kill ya." It's especially funny because Calgary, and most of the province of Alberta, are actually pretty dry.
I know how they felt. Paricularly Sanka 🥶 I was in Toronto with my parents a few years before the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. It was not that cold (they said). My uncle joked that the people from Africa (my parents and I) brought a little heat spell to Toronto. But we arrived from Africa around late August but stayed in Queens New York for a couple of months then visited our relatives in Toronto around November and stayed there after the holidays.
“It’s not the heat that gets me it’s the humidity” is one of my favorite things to say
I say the exact same thing when it gets really hot! And it nearly did kill me a few times.
its not the fall that kills you, its the landing!
And the winter version- it's not the temperature, it's the windchill.
The nerve to say that... -.-
For us Canadians or anyone that lives near the Arctic this is normal for winter.
Any visitors from a warm tropical climate, it's hell freezing over.
I’m from the uk and whilst we get snow sometimes but when I visited Austria on ski mountain village trip with school that was crazy amount of snow let alone seening mountains.
He literally wearing his bag. 😂😂😂😂😂
I moved to Canada from a tropical country about 6 months ago.
Next winter I'm making it a point to visit Calgary specifically because of this movie.
I'm not smoking, I'm breathing.
I thought Sanka said “I’m not smoking, I’m freezing!”
@@patrickmichaellangan576 me too! Ever since I was a kid. 😆 Honestly, that would have been a better line.
well damn looked up the script and it is breathin... my whole life is a lie...
I like how Darise automatically assumes Sanka is smoking something. He knows his friend.
This is me going to NY or Italy, from Texas.
God bless John Candy, we all miss him.
Me an Aussie when I visited my family in Czech Republic during winter. They went out the airport gate and I just stood there 😂

He's right, the humidity is the real unbearable part of any cold or hot climate.
I haven't seen this move for ages, remember watching it when I was a kid, such a classic.
I like how the music is reggae influenced country style music lol and it actually flows
The funniest thing is that Hans Zimmer composed the music of this movie
