I didn't get that joke. I figured it had something to do with the image on the cup but I couldn't make it out. If it was a reference to Get Out it seems a little out of place. All of the rest of the skit was hilarious.
I missed the “Get Out!” Reference; thought instead it was a sexual reference to female masturbation - which would have worked, too, given Britt’s at-times sultry performance.

Her confidence and mastery of this “character” are breathtaking. You can see her having a blast hitting endless weird ticks, nutty vocal mannerisms, and amazing expressions. It seems effortless but only a gifted pro could dive into deep crazy with such spontaneous relish. She is one of the greatest SNL hosts, imo.

Yeah I literally couldn't wait for 11:30 p.m. Eastern. And I haven't really been watching SNL lately it really hasn't turned me on much, some of their stuff has been online and I laughed but this, I just knew I had to be there in person watching it live. I was in tears laughing at a lot of this. I tried watching the original Katie Karen Brit, but I really couldn't watch it, it was really really making my skin crawl it was so so bad😂

They fetishize black bodies to the point that they're running a body snatching racket where the girlfriend entices black people to her home, her mother (a psychiatrist) uses hypnotic triggers (stirring the spoon in teacups at a certain frequency) to induce an out-of-body experience to the victim (putting them in the Sunken Place, a mental prison), and her dad (a brain surgeon) transplants the brains of their old and/or sickly white clients and/or family members onto their black victims. The family claim they just admire Black culture and the Black form, but Jordan Peele is calling it all out as just another form exploitation and objectification since the family are sacrificing numerous black people just to either extend the lives of their immediate family or to regain attributes lost to age and illness (Grandpa, who was a pro athlete gets the body of a college track runner; the protagonist is a photographer and has very keen eyes, and the man who wants his body is blind).

I actually watched the Katie Rebuttal Speech after the SOTU Address and I was in shock. It was such bad acting and weird. It was amusing. That speech didn't help the Republicans at all. I couldn't wait to see the sketch on SNL, which I watched after my local news. Then I found this video and got to laugh 🤣 some more.
It's pretty bad dude. It was actually pretty cringy to watch and I knew 2 minutes in that she was going to get lit up...

As soon as Katie Britt came out, I could tell right away that it was Scar-Jo. But as the skit continued, the features that allowed me to recognize Scar-Jo as the actress began to fade, until all I could see was Katie Britt. She absolutely nailed it!

Scarlett was brilliant. Her portrayal was spot on, too funny, the SNL writers did a great job, and the Get Out reference was the cherry on top.
