In Gordon's defense. He grew up in a home with an alcoholic father who was abusive towards the mother whom Gordon adored. Whilst he is very soft-hearted & shocked that he is perceived as being "aggressive", he said, as a child & teen he couldn't protect his mother, his voice being the only thing he could use to defend her.
I approve wholeheartedly of the Queen's choice - especially venison which is much underrated and sadly not as widely available as it should be. Darren relates enjoyable anecdotes but remains respectful which is all one can ask for. Whatever one thinks of there being a monarchy, on the whole most of the Royal Family seem to be nice people to work for.
Like, I get that the queen is super busy, but I don't think I could have the same person making all of my meals for years without meeting them, ya know?
It's really interesting hearing about how the Queen is relatively traditional in her food choices, but Prince Phillip is more adventurous and loves to try new things.
This is my fave, as well. Using cognac. Lovely deep sear on the beef, but medium to medium rare. It’s the sear and the sauce here. Boeuf Tournedos is akin, using tarragon in a Bernaise instead, and served on crispy fried in butter, thin bread rounds, the size of the tenderloin and placed under it. Delicious! RIP to Her Majesty, the Queen. And thanks for this happy little video.
If they make a fancy cake with cream and real chocolate in it they can’t just throw it out all the time that would be wasteful and cakes in a fridge last 2-3 days
The Queen is said to like her steak well done because she can't risk catching an illness from undercooked food. This is the same reason she has water brought with her on all of her trips so she doesn't risk catching something in the water that could cause an illness. She makes a great deal of public appearances every year, she does not like to cancel events and these are some of the ways she tries to avoid stomach distress and undercooked food related issues. It makes perfect sense for her and that is really all that matters.
@wolfaesthetic she is the queen of the United Kingdom, so yes she is. Not only that, it's far more likely to catch an illness from pinker meat at such an old age.
The queen not meeting her chef and princess Diana literally making the chef coffee speaks VOLUMES to how different and amazing Diana was compared to the other Royals!
So he cooked for the queen but never really met her. What a difference to prince Albert of Monaco that personally goes down to the kitchen to discuss menus with his chef Christian Garcia.
True fact here , from a Brit ! The household staff took great pride in being as invisible as possible . True. I actually laughed when he told it 😂 who needs bodyguards when you have 12 gorgis 🙈
In what way a 'mood', exactly!?
Attacked by corgis is the funniest shit ever, out of all the dogs this must be the second most humiliating, right after dachshund

Because there isnt anything flammable and is used to it

Yea I noticed it too, it was surprising especially since it wasn't a flambe, he just put in regular butter on a hot pan. I always thought it's not good to have butter burn like that but he didn't seem to mind.

What I learned from this vid:
• Queen is on keto diet
• Is a vampire because she hates garlic
• Likes her steaks well done
Can't eat cake or mashed potatoes on a keto diet lol

I approve wholeheartedly of the Queen's choice - especially venison which is much underrated and sadly not as widely available as it should be. Darren relates enjoyable anecdotes but remains respectful which is all one can ask for. Whatever one thinks of there being a monarchy, on the whole most of the Royal Family seem to be nice people to work for.
Like, I get that the queen is super busy, but I don't think I could have the same person making all of my meals for years without meeting them, ya know?

This is my fave, as well. Using cognac. Lovely deep sear on the beef, but medium to medium rare. It’s the sear and the sauce here. Boeuf Tournedos is akin, using tarragon in a Bernaise instead, and served on crispy fried in butter, thin bread rounds, the size of the tenderloin and placed under it. Delicious!
RIP to Her Majesty, the Queen. And thanks for this happy little video.
Ahahahahaha... I can just picture it: you running across a field, a pack of Corgis nipping at your feet, while the Queen laughs!

Great observation!

True fact here , from a Brit ! The household staff took great pride in being as invisible as possible . They would hide behind curtains if members of the Royal Family were walking down a corridor 🤔 And yes , I do find that weird ! Also , the Royal Family don't pay good wages . He’s talking about the Queen and working at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, discussing the foods from the estate. The wording on the screen pops up and says Gaelic is spoken in “Ireland”. 😂
Gaelic is also spoken in Scotland of course and we have whisky too! 🥃🏴
Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic are different languages, aren't they? Mutually intelligible is how I had it described.
Hongo Dongo They are. It’s Scots Ga-lick and Irish Gay-lick. It just seems odd that they refer to the Irish Gaelic when the chef is specifically talking about the Queen’s residence in Scotland and food grown and prepared in Scotland.
Yeah odd as here in Scotland we don't refer to Scots Gaelic as that we just call it Gaelic as we already know who and where we are.
The Queen likes Jamaican dishes. 2 of her favorite jamaican dishes are ackee with salted codfish and pepper pot soup. Two Jamaican classic dishes.
