While Charles III loves Italian cuisine, his mother was quite the opposite. When Elizabeth II visited Italy in October 2000, she didn't want any food with garlic in it (which is typically in an Italian dish), but that wasn't the worst part! You're looking at Italian food through an American lens. Garlic, long pasta shapes and tomato sauce aren't as important in Italy as they are in Italian-American cuisine. Also don't know whether she liked them or not, the reason she wouldn't have them at a formal event is that they're messy to eat, and garlic makes your breath stink.
