Certainly there are mods, if you wanted, from BMW and authorized aftermarket suppliers to easily add 10+ HP and more that wouldn't void your warranty. Slowed down the vid to 0.25 and bumped frame by frame... that was a pretty good-sized flying critter that hit your helmet.
I have a 2018 GW Tour DCT and will only give it up if replaced with a better new 2024 GW DCT Tour. Otherwise, looking at adding an adventure bike for the all the dirt roads and scenery I can't take the Wing on to see. Watching the R1300GS as it still has a low center of gravity and more compact this year, but I need a lower seat height, as need to have at least most of both feet touching the ground, versus hanging in the breeze. Been looking at F850GS with low seat, which seems pretty good, but curious about the the R1300. May wait either way for awhile, or may take the plunge on the F850GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Honda TransAlp?, and see how well my better half takes it when I add an adventure bike to the garage, yikes, talk about self inflicted wounds....!
I'm not crazy about the style at this time. As time goes on, I'll adjust, but as of right now, to me, it looks like a Honda NC750X or the new Suzuki V Strom 800DE. I am curious to see what the GSA model will be like.
I’m with you in the styling. It looks to much like everything else modern in the adv space. Wanna be Ducati with the boxer engine hanging in the wind. Wannabe Japanese with its flowing plastics, fairings and abbreviated shortened rear. Just a mush mash of sorts. All the while the 1250 GSA is unmistakably big, broad, masculine and undeniably masculine. 😂😂😂 See you at the dealer for the trade in 😂😂😂😂
The new GSA Trophy model ( I think they are calling it the 1400) looks pretty sweet - I have seen a couple images of it set up for offroad and it looks pretty mean. I like the simple one flip lever for setting the wind screen high or low (great for when you jump offroad) - but with an expected sticker of over $30K, not sure I could justify it.
Man, I haven't seen a single motorcycle that makes me want to upgrade, outside of an Ultra Limited. As for the half helmet... I deal with a bit of schmutz hitting me in the face, and I have the big riot shield on my Street Glide :D
@@GBeWinginIt LOL! A friend of mine saw the windshield I had put on my Vulcan 800 years ago, which is BIGGER than the one that's on it now... and was like, "Dude! You go to the police surplus store? That thing's a RIOT SHIELD!" To be fair, it WAS a massive windshield, and it actually performed worse than the smaller one.
DO IT!
I'm cautious about first year models. I prefer to wait for the bugs to get worked out. I'm on a 2023 'Wing non-tour and just freaking loving it!
Totally agree. That wing is wonderful.

I like what I got now, but never say never when it comes to motorcycles. In time I wish to go lighter and lighter so HP numbers are less important .

So many choices out there………. ands then the “better half” gets to weigh in 😂 😂. Got to love this thing we do in two wheels.

@@GBeWinginIt You already know how it goes 😂

Your correct, all in and well appointed the GS approach 30K.
What's this I here, a new slimmer BMW and you're choosing to stay with the BBBMW 😂😂😂
Best of luck to you.
Big girls need love too 😂. Seriously the 1250 in an outstanding road bike.

Love that term? “Riot shield”. 😂 you can block it, redirect it, but you won’t stop it. 😂

Give the 1300 a year... let them work the bugs out of the new stuff. 😊
No doubt that bike will be fantastic. This platform is much too important to BMW
Not interested, he said three times :)..... I can't get excited about the next bike... I spent my limit on my 2023 GW DCT Tour.
Love the one you’re with because chasing the latest and greatest is costly.
