    Strength training has been tipped as one of the trends to take 2024 by storm, particularly for its benefits on our musculoskeletal health. So, for International Women’s Day, we asked Gabby Logan, Vitality Representative and broadcaster, and Maggie Alphonsi, Director of the Vitality Champions, to take part in a workout set by none other than Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.

    Strength training is one of the ways that we can prevent the development of musculoskeletal issues in later life, such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and sarcopenia. But strength training doesn’t have to mean slogging it out in the gym every night.
    In this video, Gabby and Maggie demonstrate five strength exercises set out by Jessica Ennis-Hill that you can do at home to improve your bone density and mobility.
    Workouts aside, they also touch on how social attitudes towards strength training have shifted and how they find time to workout around their busy schedules.
