It's easy to say Steph doesn't visit him. But he has whole other family.. What about them? Ridge has NEVER visited him and has been engrossed in himself. Eric.. Useless and engrossed in himself. Easy to look at what Steph isn't doing, but the rest of his family isn't doing anything either.
Yup. And when in what a year or less ridge is in jail for shooting grant. All the forresters talk about is him His case. They are in meetings with his lawyers. They go and see him all the time. They call him.. They hire a private Detective .
@@songriver1232 yes I made that exact comment elsewhere. And Thorne is always being told to be supportive of his brother. And we actually see Thorne visiting Ridge in jail. It's very much the Ridge Show
I have never understood how they couldn’t be so worried and scared for Thorne and what he’s going through,Poor Thorne always gets the leftovers from his family 😢
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Thorne needs his mother's love and support right now... but oh well, Ridge is trying to decide which bride he wants to be with. I guess that takes precedence. 🤦🏾♀️
At this point I think it's clear the Forresters have completely forgotten about Thorne or just don't care. There's no way a parent would choose to spend time with a son torn between two women vs a son in jail for a crime he was framed for.
And Stephanie telling Ridge "it's a difficult time for you". While Thorne now has to deal with solitary confinement, an impending death sentence, a fiancée in mortal danger for his sake, _and_ a stomach bug.
Well, Stephanie DID mention Thorne’s name to Eric 3 episodes ago for a couple seconds in between talking about Ridge’s dilemma involving Brooke & Taylor. That counts for something right?
I know this is a soap but in real life wouldnt the police at least have a few officers watch Macy for protection just in case Thorne is innocent? Macy comes to you telling you this man admitted to the murder you wrongly convicted someone else for, and because the tape was not understandable you just completely dismiss her because you “got your guy” ?
Anthony talking to himself in the same threatening whispery way that Sheila does: "You shouldn't have _deceived_ me!" The show really is using him to fill the space left by her absence.
They succeeded. But, we know, nobody will miss Anthony because too evil. He makes me feel as if I'm watching one of the k illers from a Dexter episode.
A lot has been said before about Ridge's "psychic connection" with the women he loves, but here it is Thorne who has a sense of foreboding so strong that it actually manifests as physical illness. He doesn't actually _know_ that Macy is in much greater danger today than yesterday, and yet he is literally worried sick about her at the exact moment that Anthony is planning her demise. And unlike the psychic connection between Ridge and his women, which never actually altered the course of the plot in any significant way, keeping the show in the realm of realism, Thorne's intuition about Macy does end up having major consequences for the outcome of the storyline. This "supernatural element" actually affecting the plot also fits with my interpretation of this storyline as myth/fairy tale, rather than a typical soap opera plot.
Reminder that Brooke & Ridge wouldn't actually be legally married again for another decade! 😆 First Brooke is declared not Ridge’s wife and then Bridget will be declared not his daughter . 💅
Poor writing. Taylor had no problem calling Ridge when she was concealing her identity. But now she shows up unannounced, demanding to see Ridge, through Brooke? Taylor sounds as silly as Brooke. "I have a right to know where my husband is." Well, Ridge has Taylor's number and knows where she lives. Meanwhile, insecure Brooke confidently sends Ridge away as Stephanie, Team Taylor, and is lobbying on Taylor's behalf. Writers can't make up their minds. Insecure Brooke is now smug and secure. Confident Taylor is now whining about Ridge's whereabouts.
Brooke gloats to Taylor she's going to get the most disappointing news of her life. True.. But poor Brooke doesn't realise she, too, is in store for the most disappointing news of her life 😂
@@ambika66681 the fact that she is gloating about knowing where Ridge is, and Taylor doesn't know, says everything about Brooke's intentions of sending him away. This way, she can keep some control over not just Ridge's whereabouts, but also who he does / doesn't talk to, while still seeming to be benevolent and selfless. No matter what she says to her sister, Steph, or even herself, this was never a selfless act.
This episode just proves that even though it looked like Brooke sent Ridge to the cabin not because she wanted him to make a decision but to keep Taylor away from him. I actually thought that maybe Brooke was able to be thoughtful and understanding of what Ridge was going through but it was all self severing. Brooke just can't help herself in being outright cruel to Taylor. She is so sure of herself and maybe in this storyline she gets to keep the man for a little while but usually when she is this confident, it's because she's not confident at all and she normally doesn't get her way. Stephanie was very respectful towards Ridge and what he is going through. Wish she was this way with Thorne as well. I know it won't last but it's nice to see.
Brooke's gesture of "sending Ridge away" was never from a selfless place. It's her way of making herself look good while keeping some control over the situation (esp wrt keeping Taylor away from Ridge). Brooke's a sore loser and she isn't known for being gracious even in the best of times.
@@TriniT21 Oh believe me I know who Brooke is which is why at first her actions didn't reflect who she is. Now it makes perfect sense and her motivations are always selfish. Brooke is a narcissist and she is incapable of changing her selfish and devious ways.
That's cos she knows that even if she "wins" she knows she doesn't stand a chance until Taylor is alive. There's a reason y she demanded Taylor remain dead🤣, poor Brooke😅
When Brooke tells Katie that she hopes Ridge will choose her when he “comes down from the mountains” sounded almost biblical. 😳 Moses talked to God. Ridge talked to Goddess Stephanie. 😂
😂 She is so theatrical when she talks about Bridge' s odds to be a couple, about Ridge who will save her, the poor girl in distress, and he finally will propose proving Stephanie that she isn't right and that Taylor is not the one.
The juxtaposition of scenes: Ridge, clean, well groomed in his sporty hiking vest being supported, comforted, fed, LOVED by his mother as he grapples over his wife options. Thorne, greasy hair, dark under eye circles, sickly, not able to eat, worried about life/death issues in jail with no parental support. Another head shaking episode. Writers, hello?
This writing makes no sense. It's far off from the original Stephanie when Bill was writing it. Brad is showing why Bill should have never given him a seat at the writers or producers table. It's a forshadowing of how bad the show will become in the next over 30 years.
@@andream5998 this is in great contrast to later on when Ridge ends up in jail for an even lesser crime. It will be all anybody can talk about and basically Thorne will be forced to be supportive of his poor brother in jail 🥴
@@TriniT21 yes, I know. I was thinking about that and rewatching a bit it. Eric and Brooke will fall apart over it. Stephanie will be more involved. And Note also one of the long lost forrester sisters even returns temporarly. So far in Thornes mess, no word from Rigde (and Brooke and Eric) about Thorne and no sight or beep from the sisters. Like I have said before, Stephanie at least occasionally seem to recall that Thorne is her son and has at the moment some type of issue. All the other Forresters nothing, no recollection of Thorne and his issues and no mentioning, no word. Nothing. Stephanie is not the best mother (to Thorne or on general), I don't think that this show has a really good mother(figure), but she seems to "care" about the members of her family (other than Rigde and Eric) more than anyone else does in that family. I don't like this writing of her here. It isn't the way bell sr wrote her. It's not consistent with that. I hope Steph carries some of those sandwiches she made for her healthy son, to the jail where her sickly son is slowly deteriorating.... Even Eric could pitch in and bring some water or something... I really just continue to be flabbergasted at how they have Thorne languishing in jail, and NOBODY in his family is concerned. Thorne should never give up Macy in favour of his family ever again. She's the only one who cares. (I'm also convinced his lawyer, Connor, has given up on this case.)
Thorne should never give up Macy in favor of _anyone,_ ever again. He's never going to find anyone else who would be willing to go through what she went through for his sake. -(especially not Brooke)-
@@annieo6527 in fact, all now Brooke doesn't care two hoots about Thorne. But later on we shall see her becoming his bestie once again to get what she wants.
It's _really_ hard to watch! The whole point of a soap opera is melodrama and caring about these characters and you can't ask us to do that and then have an incarcerated man's family be so indifferent to his plight! I don't mean to bring down your thread with weightiness Trish, but even the little interaction I've had with the US jail system (I'm still a fairly new attorney and not primarily based in criminal law) has made me appreciate what a harrowing experience it is, especially for those awaiting trial who haven't been convicted yet. It makes it harder for me to watch portrayals like this that downplay the severity.
For all you Queen Stephanie lovers where is she? Making sandwiches for her golden child NOT at prison for her other son that is in there wrongfully accused. Pssh talking about priorities messed up.
For all of you Brooke, Eric and Rigde livers where are they? None of them said even a word about Thorne for month. Where is Eric's priority as the so called loving, caring family man and father? Brooke won't let Taylor "manipulate" Ridge? Says the Queen of Manipulation. All Brooke has ever done is manipulate Ridge since she first became obsessed with him.
*Same Old Brooke* Once again we see that while Taylor and Brooke have switched roles, neither one fits into their new role well. Brooke is correct that Ridge will choose her but she's still an unreliable narrator ("He's still my husband and the father of my children"). Moreover the performance style of the actresses and the behavior of the characters is still befitting their old roles. Taylor is still showing the Good Girl traits of poise and gentleness and even some compassion for Brooke with Hunter Tylo's restrained and more rigid composure while Brooke is still being a b ____ y aggressive Bad Girl utterly lacking in empathy with KKL's looser and more combative body language. And the way Brooke will win Ridge - still frequently using the children as leverage, ensuring that Taylor can't see Ridge before he makes his decision - is not exactly a clean, honorable victory. Brooke is in "the wife" role now but she lacks both the dignity of the legal title _and_ the Good Girl archetype that normally goes with it.
Yes, and this continues the discussion we had yesterday (anticipating today's episode) about Brooke's Glitchy Good Girl phase. And you are right about the acting - since both KKL and HT were cast by Bill Bell specifically to play certain archetypes, and since neither actress really has the range to convincingly _change_ their acting styles to fit the opposite archetype, there is a discrepancy now where their plot position has changed but their behavior hasn't.
Great analysis. True, HT portrays Taylor as the senior wanted during the switch phase. In my opinion, KKL will play her character the same way for ever . There aren't any changes in her Brooke in the history of the show. On the contrary, HT acting changed when Brad took over the show completely. We can see the first significant changes after the birth of the twins. I think it is the way Brad wanted Taylor to be played but I personally don't like it ( because I love the first Taylor). After 2005 she will become almost neurotic and she will lose completely her previous hallmarks due probably to her emotional and self destructive attitude, or to HT' s tragedies that changed her, I don't know.
@@babs4848 I too prefer the "original" Taylor (to me, the best Taylor years were 1992-1993). Taylor after 2005 is unrecognizable, and not in a good way.
This must be my lucky day. _Two posts_ that support something I've been saying for a while! You're so right about the different performance styles and body languages of the actresses. Certain actors just look right for certain roles. HT _looks_ like a romantic heroine and KKL fits the part of the bad girl/mean girl. Brooke has a scheming and hungry look even here in this scene so it makes no sense to try to turn her into a heroine. And that's not an insult because the villain role is more complex and KKL is quite good at it!
What he needs is his family to be there for him. If they came and saw him daily. And between two parents and three siblings. They could rotate it so someoen is there daily. He would have more hope and not be rotting away. If 5 other people were working to prove his innocence and get Antony in jail. He would be in better spirits But macy is all alone in this risking her life to get this mad man to confess to murder Again And her mom winds up getting Shot. And after all this not one forrester except Thorne goes to see Sally And future Thorne will still choose the people who abandoned him. Over his wife Hell he does it to Darla to. Darla has his child. And is the only one on his side. Ridge is cruel as hell to her But when she defends herself. Thorne takes ridges side I just cant
I actually think Stephanie for real wanted to be there for Ridge and push Taylor’s case a bit. Brooke sent Ridge away why wld she go there. Taylor not guessing where is Ridge is funny
Thorne is in shambles ,and Stephanie is at the cabin making sandwiches for Ridge….Thorne is wasting away .Maybe he’d get his appetite back if Steph gave him some attention and a sandwich .Poor Ridge and his big decision is all the family cares about.
Watching Brooke and Katie, especially Katie’s rudeness to Taylor, made me realize that the Logans were the white-trash version of the Kardashians back in the day. Why does Brooke insist on calling both kids “Ridge’s”? It’s so insulting to Eric and confusing for little Eric. Poor Thorne. He looks so genuinely sick. Not to mention his current predicament . . .if only he had parents and a sibling. Why is Taylor confused about where Ridge went? It’s obviously Big Bear. It’s ALWAYS Big Bear!
Thorne looks terriable he is loosing the battle here and no body cares about him it is like everyone is wrapped up in his world but thank God for Macy she is doing everything possible to get him out of jail even risking her own life this is a real tragidiy here
Macy (Bobbie Eakes) is so pretty! 😍 She honestly doesn't look much different from when she first appeared on the show and she's a good actress with the chops to carry a major storyline. They should've made HER the good girl romantic lead of the show instead of KKL (who can't act and looks like SpongeBob).
I will never understand why the writers wouldn't let Bobbie Eakes have frontburner storylines. She is a better and more versatile actress than both KKL and HT. (Unless that _is_ the reason...)
Finally someone who understands what I've been saying! I actually think KKL is a decent actress but only in the bad girl role! She doesn't have the right look for a heroine (for example, the way she's always scowling and na r row. in g her eyes). Bobbie Eakes and Hunter Tylo make much more sense in that role.
I couldn’t agree more.. Bobbie Eakes is such an amazing actress and in my opinion the most talented on the show. She should have definitely gotten more frontburner storylines. But because she didn’t had those big storylines like KKL, she was able to have a singing career besides B&B😊
She can go all the way to big bear. Which is like an two hours away from LA. I looked it up cause I'm a dork. But can't go to the county jail to see her son. She was there every damn day when ridge was in jail.
Weather or not Stephanie is "pushing" Taylor here on Rigde, which I don't think she does. Everybody knows Stephanie has a preference to Taylor. Even her dumb and arrogant son does. I think what she said could be seen as a advice of a mother and true to both women. I think she was honest when she said she will accept his decision, even if its Brooke. And everyone knows (maybe except Stephanie) that Rigde does whatever he wants and that without the regard of anyone feelings. And Stephanie has zero influence on Rigde.
Ridge and Stephanie are so pathologically codependent that it's disgusting. He'll never grow up as his mommy has made him into a perpetual peter pan. Too bad Brooke came out of the valley believing he's a man but years ago she played him right into the arms of his brother's wife. Everyone else takes 2nd place.
The lusty dusty obessed and pathological codependence/destiny bs between rigde's and his stepmommy is more distrubing and disgusting than anything else. Brigde takes the pole position in the most toxic, unhealthy, sick and gross "love" relationship or any relationship ever. Bridge deserves each other. Rigde does whatever he wants, which hasn't anything to do Stephanie. He is Eric's "son" and imatates and is excatly like his "daddy", Eric "lowlife daddy hoegan" Forrester.
That plot twist doesn't actually _exist_ yet though. Quite the opposite - Stephanie thinks of Ridge as a representation of her love for Eric. There is no Massimo at this point (and there never should have been).
*Thorne tells Macy "not to cross that line* Thorne's insistence that Macy not sleep with Anthony is understandable from a "realistic" point of view (since he is in love with her), but there is also a deeper meaning if we go with the interpretation of Anthony as a Mephistophelian representation of evil. If Anthony is a "diabolical" character, it is essential that Macy doesn't enter into any kind of "contract" with him - or, in other words, she mustn't _give herself_ to him. Ivana made the mistake of entering into such a contract when she co-conspired with him to write the first fan letter (because she entrusted Anthony with her dark secret), and again when she accepted his marriage proposal, and she paid for it with her life. Macy is trying to get something (the confession) from Anthony by only _pretending_ to give him something in return - she is sharing dark secrets that are _made up,_ and accepting his marriage proposal _in words only_ (but actually not being truthful). So in order for her to avoid "selling her soul", it is essential that she doesn't _fulfill_ her part of the transaction. (It is in this context that Anthony's menacing tone of voice when he proposed to her earlier can be interpreted - it was not an ordinary proposal made out of love, but an offer for her to sign her soul away.) And it is clear here that, unlike in previous storylines when Thorne has been very jealous of Macy being around other men, Thorne's warning is not motivated by jea lou sy this time but by genuine concern for Macy's well-being. After he begs her "not to cross that line", he doesn't even expect an answer or a promise from her in return, he just holds her and she says nothing, as if they both know she _can't_ make that promise - a poignant shift from the first time he asked her the same thing (episode 2061) and she reassured him. In fact, the scenes in episode 2061 and 2088 are very clear "mirror scenes" that bookend Macy's scheme - they are the first and last times Macy visits Thorne to let him know what she is planning, and in many ways the two conversations are identical (Thorne and Macy's frustration that the police don't believe them, Macy explaining her plan while Thorne objects because it's too dangerous, the two of them dreaming about Thorne returning home and them getting married and Macy vowing to make it happen, Macy asking Thorne to believe in her, and Thorne asking Macy not to sleep with Anthony), only the second one is much darker, with both Thorne and Macy more exhausted, desperate and afraid, and the shadow of Macy's possible imminent death hanging over the scene. And, of course, the Big Bad Wold/Little Red Riding Hood theme is also still alive and well in this episode (with a hint of Dracula), as shown in the dialogue with Macy and Anthony ("what's for dinner?" - "steak, filet mignon, bl ood rare" - "feeling carnivorous, are we?") as well as their highly symbolic outfits (Anthony all in "evil" black, Macy in "innocent" white but with a red top that could represent "pas sion", "bl ood", or a "red riding hood"). This mirrors the "leg of lamb" dinner date in episode 2063, where the symbolism of the food and the wardrobe was used in a very similar way (with Anthony as the carnivore, and the implication that Macy is the meal). (On a side note, and in keeping with the Shakespearean theme I have been tracing throughout the Thorne/Macy storyline, this plot, with the woman who must save the imprisoned man she loves from a death sentence, through a scheme where she narrowly avoids sleeping with a man she _doesn't_ love, also bears some resemblance to that of Measure for Measure. And of course Thorne and Macy as Romeo and Juliet have been explored before, and we see it again here, with Macy/Juliet carrying out a plan that has her balancing a fine line between death and s ex with the wrong man in order to be reunited with her true love. Then there's the Othello reference, which is so detailed that I have dedicated a separate post to it.)
Really speaks the difference between Taylor and Logans. So what is Katie thinking? Taylor should have gone back to Morocco so Brooke could continue in her invalid marriage?
Katy: " I can believe everything you 've been through. Brooke "I know" This year has been the best of her life because she spent it with Ridge and the children, thanks to Taylor's departure! Who suffered from all this mess is Taylor. And yet Brooke wants everybody to see that as an unfair event destiny is putting in Bridge life.
Taylor keeps making one blunder after another? First off… tangling with Brooke before Ridge was a very bad idea. Taylor continues with her uppty attitude with Brooke while she can’t seem to pin down Ridge on his thoughts? 🥴
@bettyhopson Taylor is delusional here. She's convinced Brooke is the problem when in fact it's Ridges lack of wanting her that's the problem. She can't seem to grasp it. For someone whose wupposed to be in tune with how people think how they behave she's missing that neon sign flashing all over her. He doesn't want you Taylor 🤦🏽♀️
@@Itsboldie Agree…Taylor has lost her ability to read people. Her self awareness has taken a hit…since she stayed away so long in Morocco. She’s come back and things are no longer the same for her and Ridge? She seems to have forgotten that Ridge had a history with Brooke…and also forgotten that she was once the other woman for Ridge? Taylor has her own delusions now…but she seems totally unaware of the position she is now in with regard to Ridge? 😮
There is a kind of "chain of plot control" going on here - _Taylor_ wants to know where Ridge is but fails. _Brooke_ manages to keep this information from Taylor, but fails to keep it from _Stephanie_ who figures it out. So the plot control 🏀is now with Stephanie, but she actually doesn't seem to pursue it, instead giving Ridge support without explicitly trying to push him in the "right" direction. Maybe she feels that her mere presence as Taylor's "proxy" is enough to remind Ridge of Taylor.
As usual, Stephanie is the one who instantly figures it out. Taylor should have been able to, when it is the place they all usually end up when they need to go away to think (even James and Taylor, when James hadn't even planned to go there).
I like that each time Brooke and her rude sister talk about Stephanie using her influence to manipulate Ridge, they show Stephanie as a caring mother whose first concern is supporting her son without forcing him to choose Taylor.
Taylor is hurt and angry because she hasn't seen or heard from Ridge. But, she knows he is still choosing to live with Brooke. So, she shows up at Brooke and Ridge's house using the only ammunition she has. Those two words, "her husband." Brooke owes Taylor NOTHING! Ridge, on the other hand, does and has literally left her hanging with no communication or direction. He didn't even bother to tell her he was leaving town to think. Once again, Brooke is blammed for something that is "Taylor's husband's" responsibility to tell her!
*Put out the light* The parallels with Shakespeare's Othello are _extremely clear_ in Anthony's soliloquy. Like Othello, he is a man who feels betrayed by the woman he loves, and who drew this conclusion based on discovering an incriminating object in the wrong hands. In Othello it was the handkerchief, in this storyline it is the tape with Anthony's confession. In Othello's case what confirms his suspicions is the handkerchief showing up in Cassio's possession (and Cassio then giving it to Bianca), in Anthony's case he gets his confirmation by the tape ending up in Darla's possession, and it is also possible that he sees Burke putting the tape in his pocket just as he is entering Sally's office, giving him the final piece of evidence that convinces him of Macy's deception. And in both cases the woman, Desdemona/Macy, is greatly distressed by losing the handkerchief/tape because she knows that losing it may be fateful. And it is based on the movements of this fateful object that Othello/Anthony decides to unalive the wife/fiancée he loves as punishment for her apparent betr ayal. At this point in Shakespeare's play, Act 5 Scene 2, Othello has a soliloquy where he explains his intentions to unalive the unsuspecting Desdemona. Anthony's soliloquy in this episode is the _exact equivalent_ of this. Even the stage directions state that Othello enters the room "with a light" - and _so does Anthony_ (he has candles in the paper bag). There is also a famous quote in that scene where Othello says "Put out the light, and then put out the light" - where by the first "light" he means the candle, and by the second "light" he means Desdemona's life. This quote corresponds directly with Anthony _first_ taking the _candles_ out of the paper bag, and _then_ the🔫. The "light" metaphor also gets added emphasis by Macy's first words as she enters the apartment and notices that it is too dark ("What's the matter Tony, did you bl ow a fuse?"), implying that Anthony has already _literally_ "put out the light", and is about to move on to doing so in the _metaphorical_ sense. This is followed by Anthony commenting that Macy's neck smells good as he kisses it (almost like a 🧛♂), which also has a direct equivalent in Othello's soliloquy where immediately after the "put out the light" analogy, he compares Desdemona to a rose which he "smells on the tree" (as he kisses her) before plucking it and making it wither. And, incidentally, "did you bl o w a fuse?" is a phrase which _also_ has a double meaning that actually fits quite well with the double meanings of "put out the light" - "bl o w ing a fuse" can explain both a darkened room (with the lights "put out") and a darkened state of mind (during which a person could "put out" someone's life). The irony in this scene is that Macy picks up on the literal darkness of the room, while failing to see the metaphorical "b l own fuse" in Anthony's mind.
This is just brilliant, Annie! 👏👏👏 I'm truly in awe of the connections you've identified here between Shakespeare's play and the best written storyline currently on the show (minus the absence of Thorne's family and the way it interacts with other storylines). The "light" parallel is so intriguing because it's not just a great connection that a close-reader has made (like the one you made between the handkerchief and the tape), it also feels like an intentional reference to the original source material as if the Anthony storyline really is an adaptation of Othello. It just goes to show again how ingrained these classic forms of storytelling are in our culture that something like that can show up even if the writer didn't fully intend it (and of course Shakespeare is considered the father of modern English Lit). LOVE your point about the fuse and Anthony's darkened state of mind as well -- it's another thing that connects him to Sheila and her storyline where her darkened state of mind was represented by Houdini's dungeon. And "b low ing a fuse" is a housing malfunction not unlike a broken pipe (James ban g ing on the pipes to get Stephanie's attention which also exposed him to Sheila the way Macy is now exposed to Anthony). In both cases, the happy home the villains thought they created with their victims is falling apart.
@@NewYorkNick0607 thank you! 😊❤ The idea of making the Othello connection originally came from an old soaps newsgroup from the mid 90s, where a poster jokingly mentioned Othello and Desdemona while recapping _this exact episode_ (so although the close-reading and all the details in the comparisons are mine, I have to give that poster credit for the initial idea that put me on the scent). After reading that old post, I started actually comparing these B&B episodes to the script from Shakespeare's play, specifically the soliloquy and Desdemona's unalivement, and realized just how similar they were (and only then did I start noticing all the other parallels earlier in the storyline, including the past similarities between Thorne and Othello). It's like you said - today's episode, and the confrontation in the bedroom a few episodes from now, are close enough to the source material that they can actually be considered an _adaptation_ rather than just a reference, as it is quite possible to watch these scenes from B&B and read the Othello script simultaneously, follow along in the scene structure point by point, and even recognize several individual lines that correspond in the two versions. Whether it's fully intentional, or whether it just comes from the writers having Othello in the back of their minds when writing this, is difficult to guess. If the writer wasn't Brad 🔔, my guess would be "fully intentional", but then again, that may indeed be the case if some other senior writer had a hand in it too. (It just so happens that I once used this exact scene from Othello - starting with the soliloquy and continuing with Desdemona's mu rd er, as inspiration for a piece of music I composed, so I was already quite -ob sessed- familiar with this particular part of Othello, which really helped me connect the dots.) Love your connection between Anthony, Sheila, and their "happy homes" falling apart!

🇹🇹💯🇹🇹 The writer uses a drama technique through the character Anthony to create an expression of the conflict at hand. Your precious body vs Your precious confession on tape. Macy's precious body is desired by Anthony, and he plans to get it while she pursues her desired confession. Thus precious desires are echoed through Anthony's soililoquy as the writer uses the technique to reveal the character Anthony and his thoughts and desires for sex. Maybe Darla should have volunteered to give him some. I think at this point Anthony just needs a release from his hostility and urges as is symbolized through the gun. No it amazes me how Taylor and Stephanie want Ridge to take Taylor back and let things go back to the way it was she was presumed dead that gets Ridge every opportunity and chance to move on with the woman that he originally love in the beginning before he ever met Taylor Hayes 😮🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Bridge fan all the way Brooke and Ridge❤❤
Now I've watched 2087 episodes, watching several episodes every day. Bold and the Beautiful - 1995 (S8 E336) FULL EPISODE 2087 These episodes are from 1995. Why do I have to wait for a new episode every day here on UA-cam? Since they are from 1995, I will never finish the entire series as long as I live with only one episode per day.
Stephanie takes the time to join Ridge in Big Bear to convince him to stay with Taylor. But she doesn't care about Thorne who is slowly dying. Even Ridge hasn't been to see his brother once😢
Lecture that Stephanie, Sheila and Taylor had to learn, if your legal husband isn't committed to your marriage anymore, you might need a P.I. to learn about his whereabouts. Don't expect the competition to tell you about that (or a vasectomy) just because you are the legal wife.
Macy and Sally are the only ones that give a 💩 about Thorne. None of his family even speaks of him. All macy has done is worry about this Thorne and risk her life to free him. He should be mad at the forrester clan
So Burke is taking this seriously and looking into the tape, but they are not offering Macy protection and from what we can see, they don't have Anthony under surveillance.
Angela was the firstborn daughter, not the firstborn. Angela was born after Thorne (second born) and before Kristen. Rigde is the oldest and the firstborn.
Logan sister to Brooke:" I can't believe what you've been through". Ask Taylor what she's been through! But then again selfishness has always been a Logan- trademark! Well said Taylor:" I came to see my husband...." And Brooke as delusional as always. Poor Thorne, the family doesn't even remember him😂.
While Thorne rots in jail, Stephanie sits with Ridge, the golden child. This makes no sense.
When Throne throws the chair out the window it will catch up to her. When was the last time Stephanie paid a visit to Throne in Jail ??
It's easy to say Steph doesn't visit him. But he has whole other family.. What about them? Ridge has NEVER visited him and has been engrossed in himself. Eric.. Useless and engrossed in himself.
Easy to look at what Steph isn't doing, but the rest of his family isn't doing anything either.
Yup.
And when in what a year or less ridge is in jail for shooting grant.
All the forresters talk about is him

So right. The writers are shocking.

He needs his entire family love and support. His brother is self engrossed. Where is his father as well to support him?
@@TriniT21 agree 💯
😂😂😂
So Anthony’s answer to all this trouble is to kill another person??? 😂😂😂
At this point I think it's clear the Forresters have completely forgotten about Thorne or just don't care. There's no way a parent would choose to spend time with a son torn between two women vs a son in jail for a crime he was framed for.
a decision person woulding choose between two son's
Instead of reassuring Thorne that she loves him while he's facing a life/death sentence, Stephanie is praising Ridge for being "an honorable man." 🥴
And Stephanie telling Ridge "it's a difficult time for you".
Stephanie loved Ridge more than any of her other children. He was Mossimo's son NOT Eric's. She was never close or motherly to her other children.
This is so sad …Stephanie doting over Ridge while Thorne is suffering in prison.
No intimate scenes with Thorne and Stephanie.😔
For months now lol thanks god he still have Macy
Not a one.
Anthony talking to himself in the same threatening whispery way that Sheila does: "You shouldn't have _deceived_ me!" The show really is using him to fill the space left by her absence.

@@NewYorkNick0607 further connecting the two storylines in a way that was almost certainly _not_ intended by the writers! 😆
Wow. Macy looks great. Those pants are fabulous!
I completely understand why Thorne is worried about something happening to Macy. He knows if it does he’ll won’t get any more visits

Poor writing. Taylor had no problem calling Ridge when she was concealing her identity. But now she shows up unannounced, demanding to see Ridge, through Brooke? Taylor sounds as silly as Brooke. "I have a right to know where my husband is."
Well, Ridge has Taylor's number and knows where she lives.
Good points…especially about insecure Brooke acting all smug to Taylor. And confident Taylor being unable to talk to or find “her husband”. 🤷♀️
Brooke gloats to Taylor she's going to get the most disappointing news of her life.
True..
But poor Brooke doesn't realise she, too, is in store for the most disappointing news of her life 😂
Her arrogant and entitled behavior towards Taylor is despicable. She only does that to cover up her insecurities
But apparently Brooke is doin a Taylor act by sending Ridge away, bein completely selfless🥴🤢🤮
Such bad writing with the forresters least bothered abt Thorne's murder charges and all over Ridge's wife problem. Ludicrous
Brooke is insolent as usul she knows she has a weapon the children and she is using it well
This episode just proves that even though it looked like Brooke sent Ridge to the cabin not because she wanted him to make a decision but to keep Taylor away from him.

Brads very poor writing. Thats all what it is.

*Same Old Brooke*
Once again we see that while Taylor and Brooke have switched roles, neither one fits into their new role well.
YES. Love it Nick! Brooke is still the same awful person she always was. Hasn't changed a bit.
Take some of them sandwiches 🥪 to Thorne too, Steph. Poor boy rotting there in a clink eating prison slop.
What he needs is his family to be there for him. If they came and saw him daily. And between two parents and three siblings. They could rotate it so someoen is there daily.
I guess Bobbie wasn't running up to the third floor like someone else. 🤭

*Thorne tells Macy "not to cross that line*
Thorne's insistence that Macy not sleep with Anthony is understandable from a "realistic" point of view (since he is in love with her), but there is also a deeper meaning if we go with the interpretation of Anthony as a Mephistophelian representation of evil.

So the legal wife has to ask the non legal wife where her husband is 😅😅 poor Taylor even with the title and the papers he's still dodging her 😅😅
And Even when Taylor "wins" She looses !!😂😂
@@Itsboldie
Agree…Taylor has lost her ability to read people.
@@bettyhopson 100 agree
There is a kind of "chain of plot control" going on here - _Taylor_ wants to know where Ridge is but fails. _Brooke_ manages to keep this information from Taylor, but fails to keep it from _Stephanie_ who figures it out. So the plot control 🏀is now with Stephanie, but she actually doesn't seem to pursue it, instead giving Ridge support without explicitly trying to push him in the "right" direction. Maybe she feels that her mere presence as Taylor's "proxy" is enough to remind Ridge of Taylor.
Stephanie is trying a new tactic since nobody ever listens to her. 😄 Love the basketball in there when you referenced my plot control thesis! ❤
@@NewYorkNick0607 yes, and also the plot control does sometimes feel like a 🏀that gets thrown around from player to player! 😉

I felt bad for Taylor who had to say "Bye Katie" twice with no reply. Katie could have replied, indeed rude.

Exactly 💯 Taylor is clueless she really thought that court case was going do something 😅😅
*Put out the light*
The parallels with Shakespeare's Othello are _extremely clear_ in Anthony's soliloquy.
(It just so happens that I once used this exact scene from Othello - starting with the soliloquy and continuing with Desdemona's mu rd er, as inspiration for a piece of music I composed, so I was already quite -ob sessed- familiar with this particular part of Othello, which really helped me connect the dots.)
Love your connection between Anthony, Sheila, and their "happy homes" falling apart!
Brilliant! 👏🏽

@@bettyhopson yep.
"I'm sure you've talked to him since the hearing" Brooke is right assuming that and the fact that it didn't happen should have given Taylor a clue.
That said, I don't like the way Brooke talks to Taylor even if the way Taylor said "I wanna talk to my husband" (which is true) was like rubbing it on Brooke's face.
The way I see it…is Taylor is out of line. She comes to Brooke and Ridge’s home and tells Brooke she wants to see “her husband”. Like she has ownership of Ridge now….very Rude of Taylor to act all entitled now.
No wonder Brooke wasn’t having Taylor’s approach. Where is Taylor’s dignity and concern now about Brooke losing in court? She can’t wait for Ridge to come find her?
Brooke owes Taylor nothing at this point…who is acting like Ridge is hers again? 😁
indeed it was a katty remark lol. I still believe in my earlier comment that Ridge deliberately avoids Taylor because he knows he wont deny his feelings or resist her and he doesnt want to hurt his "children" or Brooke
@@greggel
Agree that could be what Ridge is doing…ignoring Taylor because he doesn’t want to hurt Brooke and the children?
Taylor may have come on too strongly to Ridge about her wanting them back together…and that scared him off. Seems like Taylor was too eager…and that has worked against her. 😮
