Dylan is getting to be more annoying than Jessica 😒 and shame on Maggie for not putting her foot down.
Shame on Maggie for telling him to stay with her daughter. She's seen that he is a two timer and that he is treating her daughter with disrespect. What kind of mother would want that kind of man for her child?
She needed to tell him to go take a long walk on a short pier and leave her and her daughter alone.
Yes, this is one of those triangles where the best outcome is for _neither_ woman to end up with the guy. Kind of like the Macy/Anthony/Sally situation in 1994.
Not liking this storyline much, Dylan either & he use to be so nice.
How cn Maggie be soo foolish...how cn she face her daughter n Stephanie??

Ridge is making this all about his ego instead of focusing on what Eric Jr needs. It makes perfect sense that Eric Sr. takes a more active role in his young son's life. This is what happens when Brooke Logan becomes entangled in your family structure. 🤦🏾♀️

Just a few episodes ago ridge told him “He’s your son dad, I would never let him forget it” but now that eric WANTS to be around him more all of a sudden eric is out of line and trying to control how he handles HIS son smh. Brooke's manipulation of the whole situation - and particularly where Ridge is concerned - has unraveled. She has kept up the charade that this is a normal family - Ridge, Eric Jr., Bridget and herself - that even Ridge is talking the language. A few episodes ago, Ridge was telling Eric Sr that he reminds Jr. of who is his father and now he is resentful towards the boy's father becoming more involved in his life. Brooke herself recently reminded Eric that he is family, but for as long as she and Ridge have been shacked up, she refers to the children as THEIR children. She has said it over and over in audiences with Taylor, Stephanie, James, Connor, her sisters, Ridge himself, to the court, and of course, fooling herself. And now, amidst a dispute between 3 adults and a child, who is being petulant??

Thank you! Ridge and Eric are to blame too but Brooke has the most blame. Brooke is the one who constantly refers to Ridge as Eric Jr's father, Brooke is the one who broke up Eric Jr's family, Brooke is the one who pursued Eric Jr's brother, Brooke is the one who said "the children need a father" meaning Ridge. The blame in descending order of most to least goes 1) Brooke 2) Ridge 3) Eric.
For as smoking hot as Dylan is it's a shame he hasn't been in ONE exciting storyline yet.

Maggie’s a dingbat! Dylan is toxic and incredibly selfish and immature. Maggie already had a tenuous relationship with her daughter and they both think revealing a secret affair, will not damage Maggie‘s relationship with Jessica permanently? They’re nuts! Speaking of dingbats, Brooke was so hell bent on creating this family that she didn’t stop to think of the repercussions. How can Brooke, Ridge and Eric not think people would not know of their incestuous dealings. Aren’t they famous designers? rich people live in a bubble and create their own sense of reality I guess?
Dingbat and insensitive. In a previous post, I said that so far, she seems more sensitive towards her children than Brooke (referring to Brooke's relationships with Deacon and Nick). But that was "so far." Not anymore. At this point, Dylan and Maggie barely know each other and they say this is true, soulful love? Come on. And Dylan is virtually reciting wedding vows to Maggie. Does he think even once about what that would involve? He'd be Jessica's stepdad. You think Rick is freaking out about having a stepdad, what about Jessica? Remember, Maggie also has another daughter who Dylan would have to parent. Furthermore, Maggie just got a divorce, does he even stop to think why? This is so messed up. However, I think this story gave an outline for the Rick/Taylor/Phoebe/Steffy story a decade later.
The last sentence then makes me chuckle when Stephanie, in this episode, said that Rick trusts and admires her (paraphrase). Hmm....I say in hindsight.

so we are to assume that Rick's age from 4 until 12 never happened correct? It was the same with the twins and Thomas when they grew from 5 to teens when Taylor died...we assume that Brooke sort of "raised" them but in reality it never happened because the timeframe (5-teens) never actually happened... if that makes sense
SORAS is a mess. Ridge has now been longer a father figure to Eric Jr. (9 years) then Eric has been.
Oh and about the twins, they were born after Eric 3, and at some point they seemed to be like 3-4 while he was still a baby/growing up normally.
Not to mention Steffy/Thomas and Hope and how they all seem to be close in age while the first 2 were teenagers when she was born. Or Hope and RJ being together as small children and then Hope an adult while RJ was still a child,

Eric Jr is actually being very clear and directing his anger toward the right people (Ridge and Brooke). And Brooke is only too happy to ship him off to Eric because he's becoming an obstacle now for her and Ridge.
You forgot Eric sr. It's his fault too. Eric sr was always an absentee father for any of his children. He was always busy with something else, mostly women.

Eric hasn't been around to take an active role in Eric Jr's life. He has been the proverbial absent parent. Let's go back to when Brooke was dating Connor, and EJ asked Connor if he could call him dad. Eric didn't step up after that. Eric Jr. is hurt, and yes, ashamed of his situation. Most kids whose fathers aren't around, they begin to idolize them and become angry at the people who are there. But Eric, Ridge, and Brooke are ALL to blame for this. Ridge has been acting as his dad, and Eric was completely ok with that, too. So, Eric doesn't get a free pass because he wasn't there for his son and hasn't tried to be. He helped create this mess, too.
Correct: Eric keeps marrying other women. First Brooke, then Sheila and I think a romance with Taylor is forthcoming. Then Lauren, before returning to Stephanie. But later divorcing her to pursue Donna, Taylor again, and Quinn.
@DevikaK100 Exactly! He literally admitted that he hasn't been there and needs to step in and take a more active role. But, he didn't raise his adult children either Stephanie did. So, he clearly has a pattern of not being physically and emotionally available for his children.

Why does he feel the need to make this a competition with Eric? I have to wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the original relationship between them over Brooke?
A few episodes ago , Ridge asked his father if he is still in love with Brooke. Taylor asked Eric if he thought about his marriage with Brooke, if he missed it. Maybe the writers thought about a conflict between Eric and Ridge but dropped it as usual.
Ridge always has claimed equal paternal responsibility/rights. In ep. 1240 Ridge already has explained to Taylor that _Eric Jr. might be Eric's responsibility by virtue of paternity but Ridge's responsibility by virtue of his commitment to Brooke, that if you are in a relationship with someone, everything about that other person is your responsibility_
But "relationship" seems to be subjective. 😅We also had Ridge telling Brooke's fiance James that if Eric Jr. gets upset they are supposed to call Ridge right away.
It might be a stretch since no one blames Eric Sr for anything, but maybe Ridge thinks that by parenting Eric Jr, he'll stop him from turning into Eric Sr😂

At least Brooke's poor parenting is an interesting train wreck to watch... Maggie, however, is just too absurd as a parent for words. First she ships her daughter out, signs her legally away to family she's hasn't seen in years, breezes into town to take her back, and now is going to take her daughter's bf (b4 she tells him to go take a hike and stay away from both her and her daughter).
I mean, when she gets together with Dylan, where exactly does she intend to live and entertain him? Not at Steph's guest house, that's for sure.

A custody hearing for Jr was never shown or indicated. It's like Eric just gave up and whoever Brooke was bedding at the time ( Conner, James) was automatically supposed to assume the role of Dad. 😬

Eric Jr's actor and C.J's actor are both 12 at that time, although I am not sure how old they are supposed to be.
But yes, it feels like twilight zone when they have aged that boy just for him to suddenly be a rebellious teen, when just some weeks ago he had been a sweet 4 year old boy 😅

@bettyhopson It's a very confusing story. Eric Jr. said at one point that Ridge lied to him about being his dad. If he is 12, then he would know that Eric and not Ridge is his dad. That would mean that Eric never came around. Again, even when Brooke dated Connor, he said that Eric Jr. asked to call him dad. Connor was also spending a lot of time with him as well. No, this storyline has missed some important steps to get to this point of anger.

There was a hint that it might have been Sly in an attempt to do Stephanie a favor by getting Ridge and Taylor together, but it was never confirmed and eventually the st a lk ing just stopped.
Until Sheila returns in about 40 episodes or so, we have to get used to _nothing actually happening_ in this season. Some fun scenes but no real direction.
