yess it's my personal favorite arc too!!! furudate really showed great great writing in here. making hinata grow as a player not by the traditional way of learning by experience esp if it's sports. i love that coach washijio is hinata's adversity too. it's a new conflict dynamic explored in the show, bec it's usu hinata vs kags or teammates or rival players. oh furudate-san, the writer that u are!!!
Love this! A lot of people call it filler arc but i genuinely think this is where he grows deeply in his perspective of the game and the role that he plays. I always get teary eyed when he tells the tall dude to “take it easy”
Please please please go back and watch the "Land vs Air" OVA's, it takes place chronologically before season 4 and you could be a little confused when you get to the actual Nationals later in season 4 if you don't watch them.
@@lazulisp7972 yess also someone please correct me if I'm wrong but they also missed the extra for Shiratorizawa correct? Guys please watch it!!! It's similar to the extra for Aoba Josai.
If you guys want to watch this in chronological order, you need to watch the Nekoma OVA "Haikyuu!!: Riku vs. Kuu." It shows the Tokyo qualifiers for nationals.
Bringing back characters from previous seasons and having them interact in a new environment is definitely one of Haikyuu's strengths! I never though I'd see half of these cast again when i first watched and this will definitely wont be the last! Hinata being a ball of sunshine (ehe) makes connecting with everyone so satisfying imo ❤
I just realized that Season 3 was only 10 episodes, now we're on Season 4. I will miss the reactions 😢 this show has been my favorite so far with them.
Wait a sec, y'all didn't watch the OVAs, Land vs. Air and The Path of the Ball? I really think you guys need to watch those. I love this ball boy arc and season as a whole. There's a lot I'm looking forward to and this is a good example of, "trust the process". I will admit that the art syle change took some getting used to for me and the animation quality isn't that good at times. This was during Covid though, so it's understandable and honestly, I don't remember minding it most of the time. Jeez, the only Geks thinking Karasuno can win Nationals are Carter and Jack. Brig and Cannon seem to not want them to, which is kinda interesting and weird, while Mckay said nothing. Also, I think y'all just don't really get it with Tendo, which is fine. If none of you like him, then that's ok.
Hinata is actually so smart. He's gained some insane battle iq. It cool to see hinata get phased out of the limelight a little, during the past few matches. That shows that his crazy amazing jump and super quick has lost it's wow-factor. He isn't well balanced player at all, and that is slowly taking him off the court more and more. But, Hinata doesn't give up. He realizes what i've said and he actively tries to learn and grow, which is amazing. My favorite part of shows that have created a deep connection between the characters and the audiance, is the character development. Omg it's so cool to watch characters grow. Also, the badass killer moments that get everyone blood flowing.
This arc is probably one of the best arcs haikyuu has ever done. I get really excited when I hear you guys discuss certain things, and obviously I don't wanna spoil, but I promise haikyuu always has its payoffs! As someone who has completed the manga, I can say with full confidence - trust the process. On another note, it seems you guys missed out on the "land vs air" OVAs, and I'd really recommend you go back and check it out! It chronologically takes place before this season, and it has some pretty important story aspects. It would really enhance your experience with the story going forward! Also- the camp that kageyama went to only invites first- and second-years, as candidates for the u-19 team. Third years are the ones who usually end up as part of the actual u-19 team, like you saw with ushijima.
All I'm gonna say is that Furudate sensei is a master of build-up and payoff, you saw it with Tsukki and itll only continue to be more and more satisfying to witness, so trust the process and enjoy the ride you guys!!
Way too early damn 😅 This Hinata arc is one of my personal favourite arcs from the series and I'm trusting you guys will get it too, and understand Hinata. I have seen reactors completely miss the point of this arc and even call it a waste of time for Hinata. You guys will love it I'm sure.
You guys are gonna enjoy this season so much!!! When it comes to Nationals, most prefectures get 1 representative but some do get more bc it all depends on population.🤓 Also yes thanks for acknowledging that hinata has PLENTY to learn. I fyou guys remember Kageyama from S1 saying how if you watch from a match from the back you will the plays better. Sakusa from Itachiyama, itachi (the same as Sasukes bro) means weasel. Noooo, go easy on Tendoh, he's such a precious silly baby.😫💕
i like that you guys are liking this arc and mckay and jack feeling sad for hinata 🥺 also i really like tendo from s3 because his play style is really cool and as we've seen from his backstory he was bullied for looking scary and being a "monster" so volleyball is his one safe place. his "farewell, my paradise" makes me feel soo sad. though to be fair, i had to rewatch the show a couple times to really appreciate him
Haikyuu might not be my top 5 anime but it's my favorite show to watch with reactors, this show gives the best and realistic reactions out of all the animes. This is the 4th group of reactors I'm watching Haikyuu and it never gets old.
10:48 when they animate the snippet for itachiyama, theres still no official color from furudate and they just put random colors thats why in s2 itachiyama is color purple, but it turns out to be green.
1:45 Ushijima isn't the best, he is in the top 3 but not the best, Shiratorizawa was top 8th last time, so imagine the power houses that are at nationals 26:22 I still believe you didn't really pay attention to Tendou, I'm not the biggest Tendou fan, as in he isn't in my top favourites, but I can see why people love him, even if it was just that match Again, I believe that you watching so fast is hurting your understanding of characters, and I not necessary mean Tendou, some need a rewatch to understand him. I love having fast reactions of my favourite moments but I feel it's not good for you
@Abdullah-wi1iy I see what you mean, I do, but it's also important to consider that Sakusa is a 2nd year, the only one in the top 5 that is, and he is in the top 3, so I think that makes him even more amazing (personally) as for Kiryuu, I don't recall anything saying if he is or isn't in the u19, just because it isn't mention doesn't mean he isn't. Personally I don't care either way, since I don't consider any of them as the top one, we never get a clear cut ranking, rather they are all considered in the top and they rotate according to how they play any match, just like they say that bokuto and Aran are on the same level as the top 3 when they are at their best form (and is even believe that inarizaki won against shiratorizawa, and is official, acording to wiki, that they won against Mujinazaka, and what happened in the match of top aces), it's just that they aren't as consistant. At least, that's how I interpret that the ranking system works, not as a list but more as they are all in the same tier or level
The OVA’s are important to watch as they give a bit more background. OVA 3 Land vs Air needs to be watched before the Nationals start. Probably would have been better before watching S4 but I think it’ll still work if you watch it between the training arc and the competition start.
same here! and this is coming from somebody who usually feels secondhand embarrassment from everything. I suppose its due to hinata's confidence lmao its simply just amusing
I liked this reaction so so much. I can understand the embarrassment that almost everyone felt seeing Hinata infiltrating in the training camp, but I never felt that way! I thought that it was going to be so good for him, even though what he did was wrong. Please, buy the Blue ray version for the second part of the season!
The thing about Haikyuu it’s that u get to see almost all of the characters development. The fact that we get to see each one of them grow for the better was what made me so attach this anime
Actually, teams subtract the height from their touch point to get a true vert. In that irl case Hinata likely destroys everyone's vertical measurements 🤙🏽
YESS s4, my favorite season (the ball boy arc)! I have been watching your reactions to aot, the Ghibli movies, arcane and now haikyuu, during my midterms and exam season, it’s the only thing that keeps me distracted from all the stress. I’m looking forward to see your reactions to s4 in real time now that I am all caught up!
7:57 hinata thinking to buy that toothbrush and follow Kageyama to tokyo 😭😭😭 im glad tsukki and Yamaguchi there so hinata changed his plan to just follow tsukki
if you guys wanna see the tokyo prefecture matches, there's 2 ova episodes called "land vs air" which include those matches and who wins. they're pretty important because some characters that show up in season 4 are introduced in it.
have you guys watched the Land vs Sky OVAs? its marked as OVAs, but its canon to the storyline (appears in the manga) and will show the tournament that decides the Tokyo Representatives (the prefecture that Nekoma and Fukurodani are from) for nationals. Highly recommend it before continuing season 4
the 2nd hand embarrassment never fails and at the same time makes me laugh. some scenes hurt me for hinata's feelings but watching the whole arc makes me feel proud of him!
Tsukki trying to ignore Hinata but blowing up at him will never not be funny 😂 Also, you'll know about Tokyo prefecture's qualifiers if you watch the OVA episodes
one thing thats important is that the miyagi prefecture is like a country state, not that many people live there so the chance of your team having star/genius players is low. Ushijima, Oikawa, and Kageyama are pretty rare to find all in miyagi prefecture, its like larry bird coming from indiana and becoming one of the goats so imagine the talent thats gonna come from very densely populated prefectures like tokyo or osaka, from that you can assume that even a team as good as shiratorizawa would not be wiping the floor with the other teams at nationals considering those teams could have 6 ushijimas on the court at once
Two tournaments per year, two nationals type events per year. They failed the qualifiers in season one and missed that event, this is the second event for the year, typically 3rd years, like in Date Tech, would stop participating to focus on college entrance exams. Only top performing schools 3rd years would go ahead and continue to participate. This was why in season 2 there was such a fuss about Daichi, Asahi, and Suga continuing the club.
Hi guys! Happy to see you so into Haikyuu! Just, it was sad you didn't watch the 2nd OVA before season 3 and the OVA Land vs Air before this new season. Hope you will watch after even if it's not in the order anymore
shiratorizawa doe'snt win nationals. they just always qualify and are usually are in the top 8 of the tournament. they're also not a really really good team. they just literally have a slightly strong team with the best ace in japan (ushijima)
I'd say this arc is more about changing Hinata's Perspective. If he just does training or usual drills he will go back to his old habits. He needs to think more, understand more. He needs the ability to see in in a greater perspective. Like he can always train for when the ball is in front of him but the ability to tell where the ball will be spiked takes knowledge and perspective.... END OF MY NERD RANT....😅
A lot of people don't like this arc because of how Hinata was so cringe at the beginning of the season but it's one of my favourites. trust the process guys it's going to work out nicely in the end
I think it's an interesting observation from Ukai that they're actually limited Hinata's growth because he needs to play his role well. Whenever I think "Why isn't Hinata better at ___" I realize he probably spent all his time practicing what the team needs instead.
Hello. I'm a Japanese person who loves anime. Thank you for watching my favorite Haikyuu! Also, be sure to watch My Hero Academia! You will definitely not regret it! I love seeing everyone enjoying Japanese anime!❤
Genuinely, I would have to stop the show and take a walk through this training camp phase and Hinata sneaking in, I actually got ULTIMATE second-hand embarrassment.
Im proud of my boys drinking more sugar free/diet sodas😂 Seriously, as my family friend doctor/Cancer researcher friend tells us, "sugar is just a festering ground for bad things to grow from..." 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
the first time i watched s4 i was disappointed with the drawing style change, but then knowing that they make it the same as the manga! so i was like damn okay.... 😭👍🏻
WATCH THE OVA FIRST GUYS 🥲 you guys are begging wanna know what happened with the other team we practiced against in the training camp at the end of the season 2 right? …
I'll never forget the second-hand embarrassment we all collectively felt as a fandom when Hinata sneaked in the training camp 😭
🤧😭😭😭
I'm not. It's funny to me
First that's true, but when i know the intention of the story, now I'm not embarrassed at all, but just feeling sad for hinata..
fr why tf did he think it was a good idea, like niqqa you're not invited
honestly, even the reactions are hard to watch 😭🤣
My personal favorite arc has come. The Ball Boy Arc. 🥹🫶.
yess it's my personal favorite arc too!!! furudate really showed great great writing in here. making hinata grow as a player not by the traditional way of learning by experience esp if it's sports. i love that coach washijio is hinata's adversity too. it's a new conflict dynamic explored in the show, bec it's usu hinata vs kags or teammates or rival players. oh furudate-san, the writer that u are!!!
@beetleorangejuice yes... Rich writing...
Love this! A lot of people call it filler arc but i genuinely think this is where he grows deeply in his perspective of the game and the role that he plays. I always get teary eyed when he tells the tall dude to “take it easy”
Don't underestimate what it takes to be a ball boy 🥰💗
@valentinasanchez3764 yes
The 2nd hand embarassment when the camera pans to Hinata sneaking out at camp is canonical to every Haikyuu watcher. Lol
Especially the character who explains his gf everything in s4
yesss
Up
The ball boy arc is where we see exactly how desperate Hinata is to get better
If you guys want to watch this in chronological order, you need to watch the Nekoma OVA "Haikyuu!!: Riku vs. Kuu." It shows the Tokyo qualifiers for nationals.

I can not wait for Brig's reaction to the next ep.. Knowing he was a tennis player👀
Omg same
Season 4 is my favorite season and you'll know why. So excited for your reactions. Let's gooooo!
I just realized that Season 3 was only 10 episodes, now we're on Season 4. I will miss the reactions 😢 this show has been my favorite so far with them.

‘Weird lil demon child” he said😭😭
All I'm gonna say is that Furudate sensei is a master of build-up and payoff, you saw it with Tsukki and itll only continue to be more and more satisfying to witness, so trust the process and enjoy the ride you guys!!
People do stan Tendo purely for his chaos energy. 😅
he's one of my favs
Love his ability too actually. His guessing game is annoying but it's fun to watch
Way too early damn 😅
This Hinata arc is one of my personal favourite arcs from the series and I'm trusting you guys will get it too, and understand Hinata. I have seen reactors completely miss the point of this arc and even call it a waste of time for Hinata. You guys will love it I'm sure.
Eh it's literally so good and it's so important to his game.
@SukmyPikachu i agree lol
Hinata biking in the cold is one of the moments I remember the most in this show
Now it's time for my boy Hinata character development arc... Can't wait for the whole season reactions 😅
the way i had to pause and ran a lap when the camera pans to hinata standing proudly next to tsukishima 😭😭it was so embarassing but sad
You guys are gonna enjoy this season so much!!!
When it comes to Nationals, most prefectures get 1 representative but some do get more bc it all depends on population.🤓

Noooo, go easy on Tendoh, he's such a precious silly baby.😫💕
Gosh... Hinata's frustration and desperation. Seeing it again hurts a little. He's trying his hardest but the opportunity alludes him.
i like that you guys are liking this arc and mckay and jack feeling sad for hinata 🥺 also i really like tendo from s3 because his play style is really cool and as we've seen from his backstory he was bullied for looking scary and being a "monster" so volleyball is his one safe place. his "farewell, my paradise" makes me feel soo sad. though to be fair, i had to rewatch the show a couple times to really appreciate him

Miya Atsumu introduction let's goooooo

you can lowkey say he's the best cause none of the other 2 are in japan U19
@Abdullah-wi1iy I see what you mean, I do, but it's also important to consider that Sakusa is a 2nd year, the only one in the top 5 that is, and he is in the top 3, so I think that makes him even more amazing (personally) as for Kiryuu, I don't recall anything saying if he is or isn't in the u19, just because it isn't mention doesn't mean he isn't. Guys you have to watch the “Land vs Air” Ova before this
a bit of insight here, shiratorizawa constantly able to go to nationals but doesnt mean they win the match IN nationals itself
Its something like a big fish in a small pond.
There are a lots of big or bigger fish and multiples big fish together XD
@smeartyke true that
The OVA’s are important to watch as they give a bit more background. OVA 3 Land vs Air needs to be watched before the Nationals start. Probably would have been better before watching S4 but I think it’ll still work if you watch it between the training arc and the competition start.
I really hope that they watched the OVAs. Also you've probably heard that this animation more closely resembles the actual manga style.
You guys missed the OVAs. Land vs Air and The Way of the Ball
dont skip the OVA!
The arc that finally make Hinata a real volleyball player, not just a spiker
please watch the OVAs
It was actually funny to me when Hinata randomly showed up😂
Didn’t feel any secondhand embarrassment
same!! honestly expected it knowing his character like its just such a hinata thing to do
same here! and this is coming from somebody who usually feels secondhand embarrassment from everything.
You'll love the ova of Fights between Tokyo teams.
Haikyu is peak after peak after peak! Dw this training arc does pay off, and I trust you guys will get it
The thing about Haikyuu it’s that u get to see almost all of the characters development. The fact that we get to see each one of them grow for the better was what made me so attach this anime
I can imagine Hinata's growth by the end of the tournament will be insane. He's got the spirit to be huge despite his height.
I know others have mentioned this, but please react to Nekoma OVA "Haikyuu!!: Riku vs. Kuu." so you can understand the timeline better~
S4 osts are the best... Waiting for one of my fav ost... Point of view 🤧❤️
mi temporada favorita y realmente aquí vi a Hinata con admiración
I see Haikyuu. I click.
Gotta brace for the second hand embarrassments, but this is necessary y'all
WE'RE FINALLY HERE, THE SEASON THAT MADE ME CRY THE MOST
Actually, teams subtract the height from their touch point to get a true vert.
I’m looking forward to see your reactions to s4 in real time now that I am all caught up!
please don't skip the OVAs they have the Tokyo qualifiers that you are wondering about
7:57 hinata thinking to buy that toothbrush and follow Kageyama to tokyo 😭😭😭 im glad tsukki and Yamaguchi there so hinata changed his plan to just follow tsukki
if you guys wanna see the tokyo prefecture matches, there's 2 ova episodes called "land vs air" which include those matches and who wins. they're pretty important because some characters that show up in season 4 are introduced in it.
have you guys watched the Land vs Sky OVAs? its marked as OVAs, but its canon to the storyline (appears in the manga) and will show the tournament that decides the Tokyo Representatives (the prefecture that Nekoma and Fukurodani are from) for nationals. Highly recommend it before continuing season 4
Cannon's shirt is as cool as Tsukki's moment
Goated choice
the 2nd hand embarrassment never fails and at the same time makes me laugh. some scenes hurt me for hinata's feelings but watching the whole arc makes me feel proud of him!
Hinata is taking a 1 step back to make 2 steps forward. RELAX :D The second-hand embarrassment is unmatched though :D
Tsukki trying to ignore Hinata but blowing up at him will never not be funny 😂
Also, you'll know about Tokyo prefecture's qualifiers if you watch the OVA episodes
I never cringed so hard in front of a scene, Hinata sneaking in was so funny and embarrassing at the same time 😭
Please watch the Land vs Air OVAs, they are cannon and meant to be watch before S4!!
one thing thats important is that the miyagi prefecture is like a country state, not that many people live there so the chance of your team having star/genius players is low. Ushijima, Oikawa, and Kageyama are pretty rare to find all in miyagi prefecture, its like larry bird coming from indiana and becoming one of the goats
so imagine the talent thats gonna come from very densely populated prefectures like tokyo or osaka, from that you can assume that even a team as good as shiratorizawa would not be wiping the floor with the other teams at nationals considering those teams could have 6 ushijimas on the court at once
Favourite season! Some of the best episodes I've seen!
My favorite twins is coming. 🍙
END OF MY NERD RANT....😅
you guys forgot to watch the nekoma land vs air OVA!!
Much better to watch first the Land vs Air OVA for you to witness the qualifier match in Tokyo Region.
The second hand embarrassment can be overwhelming but it's worth the character growth😂❤
A lot of people don't like this arc because of how Hinata was so cringe at the beginning of the season but it's one of my favourites. trust the process guys it's going to work out nicely in the end
The collective embarrassment will be worth it! 🥹 I'm so excited for the intro of my fav character of the series
If you’d like to know the Tokyo qualifiers, I’d recommend you watch the land vs air OVA & path of ball OVA. It takes place before s4.
this is my favorite season
everything about it is just perfect
I like to call this the hinata and kageyama season
I think it's an interesting observation from Ukai that they're actually limited Hinata's growth because he needs to play his role well. Whenever I think "Why isn't Hinata better at ___" I realize he probably spent all his time practicing what the team needs instead.
Bruh the amount of cringe and second hand embarrassment is so vital to how Hinatas progresses as a person. So damn dope
Hello. I'm a Japanese person who loves anime.
Thank you for watching my favorite Haikyuu!
Also, be sure to watch My Hero Academia! You will definitely not regret it!
I love seeing everyone enjoying Japanese anime!❤
honestly, the BEST arc imo 🔥 ur heart rates are gonna go 📈
y'all need to watch Land vs Air OVA
Where is “land vs air” ep OVA. It’s important for story
Love how cannon is basically tsuki hype man now. He has truly embraced it🤣
Genuinely, I would have to stop the show and take a walk through this training camp phase and Hinata sneaking in, I actually got ULTIMATE second-hand embarrassment.
Can't wait for them to meet the new characters in this season!
Guys! You have to watch Land vs Air before season 4 😊
Season 4!!!!!! 👏👏👏
You guys forgot the Land vs Air ova
Yeeees my second favorite season...!!!
WATCH THE OVA FIRST GUYS 🥲 you guys are begging wanna know what happened with the other team we practiced against in the training camp at the end of the season 2 right? …
Jesus people rly dislike tendou or love tendou.
I WILL FIGHT FOR TENDOU cuz i was tendou..thats the whole thing. It's not that deep.
THE OVAS GUYS PLEASEEE THEY ARE CANON
GO GO GO LETS GO HAIKYUU 🎉
As a MB, I liked Tendou already from his Guess Monster episode. So, yeah, from S3, he's been my boi.
Please for this season i think it's better to watch the Blu-ray Version.
