Your quilting is beautiful and I am inspired to try feathers again. It was hard to hear you sometimes, especially over the machine. I was able to get most of what you said after I turned on closed captioning. But all in all a very good video-easy to see and well narrated. Thank you.
Good to hear you could solve the problem. I am trying to speak slow and clear but the machine is quite noisy. And I do not have a special microphone. One of the resons why I do avoid talking. In this case, it was necessery. Happy quilting! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Thank you most kindly. I do not like my own voice but I am glad to hear your compliment! I made one additional video and have an idea for at least one more ❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️. Happy Quilting!!!
Great video as usual showing the differences between the feather constructions. What I liked most though was your wonderful words of wisdom today about relaxing, comparison and expectations. It’s something I try to tell my students but you put it so beautifully. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback. These are very important aspects when learning something new. You are right telling that to your students. social media shows us that everything is quick and easy. It is not. Skill needs time and love and work. So I keep repeating that. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Patricia, there is never enough feather quilting content. They are so beautiful and efficient they are definitely worth the effort. I wish you a wonderful day! ❤️❤️❤️
Bad weather outside is sometimes good for quilting. No distractioins. I hope it will stay within limits so nrmal life is not so affected. We have here a bit of snow but it is simply unpleasant outside.... so a perfect quilting weather ❤️❤️❤️
The bounce back feather is the hardest for me because in the travel back part, I can rarely get it directly on the previous line. Maybe I just go too fast? Not sure. I guess there is no real reason I have to do them that way, but I probably just need more practice. Thanks, Gosia! ~Cynthia
Hi Cynthia! Speed is one issue. Maybe you focus too much on the position of the needle, instead on the movement. Try to look where you are going instead of where you are right now. I have the impression that inbetween my hands are doing the thinking. I am repeating the movement. It works just fine most of the time. And when sometimes the line is a bit off....We are humans . Have a good Sunday! ❤️❤️❤️
I love your quilting! Fabulous lesson! I recently purchased an M7 and I'm wondering what determines the foot you use when you are doing free motion quilting. I see you're using a ruler foot here. Is there a reason you're not using one of the other ones for this feather?
I wish you tons of fun with M7. I am a big fun of Janome. About your question: I used ruler foot because I quilted lines between the video sections. when I know I need ruler for my quilting, I use ruler foot. the free motion quilting feet are for fmq quilting. From my point of view, you can use also the ruler foot for that. It is just the question of preferences. And the hopping foot is for patchwork with many seams.... I don't like it as it slows me down...❤️❤️❤️
