Sony A7iv woyld shoot 16:9 & combining that with a 1.8x anamorphic would give you a weird overstretched 3.2:1 aspect ratio. 😮 A 1.33x anamorphic is perfect for 16:9 recording format giving 2.35:1 AR.
I have experienced through the 135mm focal length. Portrait photography with this focal length is superb. But I see very few cases where I choose 135mm, I mean about the convenience in many situations. Perhaps this is a lens for cinema. I have no problem with this focal length when taking pictures, but to shoot movies with 135mm it is a huge difficulty for me haha. Have a nice day, hope to win your super nice LUT pack .
Just shot a short film with the 32 and the 100. I don't know if sometimes my IBIS messed things up, but I had soooo much jello on some very minimal movement handheld shots.. Lesson learned I guess. Still love these lenses
Hey, great shots! It looks beautiful! I’ll be using this same lens soon on this camera, never done it before. Are there any settings I need to change so the camera knows to shoot in anamorphic or anything like that? Sorry for the possible dumb question in advance!
Interesting lens, to say the least. the 1.8x squeeze is quite wide and when shooting with other anamorphic or normal cine lenses don't you have to crop anyway to get a consistent width and height throughout your video. Thanks for the video
Got to this video researching the gear for sale haha. I've got the 75mm, has the same issues with the focus throw, wish the squeeze was consistent throughout the venus line.
Hello there, Always love to see your vids! You look really passionate about that! May I ask You how You make those subtitles? what font it is and how do you achieve that super look? Thanks!
嗨!The IBIS was on :) you need to set it to manual so it adjusts better on the focal length. Seems that wider focal lengths are smoother compared to this 135mm
I only see these very wide shots in some wedding videos.......XD The 1.8x squeeze is kinda clever because 135mm is a very compressed image and you usually have no room for shooting with that focal length, so if I'm right it's a lot more different than shooting with a spherical lens (I've never shot with an anamorphic hehe). The field of view doesn't matter unless you're working with other lenses that may or may not be anamorphic lenses because of many factors like the squeeze, workflow and etc. Great video againnnn Kuya Victor!!!
Really interesting lens! It pushes you to re-imagine how to frame and allows you to create completely new compositions, which is great. On the other side, I think 1.8x is probably much nicer to watch in a big cinema screen and not in our 16:9 monitors lol Great video Victor! Love seeing you finding your niche and killing it here!! 🤜🤛
Thank you bro 🙏🏼 and yes! I love that about it. Always getting you to creatively recomposing some usual shots. You're more than welcome to borrow it when we're both in town!! Come back soon! Alen misses you a lot hahaha
Love your videos man. I recently just tried the Sirui 35mm for super 35mm and I love it. I'm also a sucker for telephoto like lenses, so this is interested to see. Although anamorphic is not exactly the vibe I'm going for or a need, it's a pass, but still great to have these tools available.
Thank you Mike! Appreciate you watching the vids! Exactly my thoughts. The 135 is a great focal length but for anamorphic it's pretty specialized that might not fit everyone's needs unless they already have the other lenses from their set or for a specific job.
Personally I like how the squeeze on the 1.33x lenses look but if the shoot script and story demand a 1.8x shot, I don't see why it wouldn't make a valuable addition to the film you're making.
@@VictorLaforteza I’m talking about your footage, even ur model is bend like a stick in one of the shot due to horrible rolling shutter and you are narrating as if it looks cinematic… to sum up, a74 anamorphic is garbage, that should be ur thumbnail
@@shinzychan5117 I never said my footage is cinematic nor implied it. I simply was trying to describe it on my own terms but it seems like you’re just hating on the camera a lot and got triggered by it.

Yup, you’re correct haha it’s so weird and have to crop so much to stay in that 2.35 ratio

I love telephoto lenses for photos! so good for portraits!! for videos, it's a different thing! good luck on the lut pack giveaway!!
I always get inspired watching your videos, thank you for your work.
Happy to hear that!

Yeah, I know what you mean!! Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s just jello garbage.

Get a monitor with desqueeze function 🙌🏽 the one in camera will be squeezed and it’ll be weird to frame shots
Love the knowledge shared!! Question? What do you recommend upon exporting clips shot in 23.976fps, export 24fps or 23.976 after editing?
23.976 :)
Great as always! One of the best channels on UA-cam for cinematography. I always get inspired
I appreciate the comment brother! Always nice to hear that these little videos inspire others. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

yeah you definitely have to crop to get to normal aspect ratio and even going for cinemascope ratio!

Thanks!
Just any yellow font works! And if you desqueeze anamorphic footage, it’ll look wide!!
Nice content , just a quick question : Could you give me a good reason on why to buy the Sony fx30 instead of the fujifilm xh2s ?
Autofocus! The rest is just personal preference from the features
Victooor, what do you prefeer, sony fx30 or A7IV (for video)
I like both but I tend to shoot with the FX30 solely for video but if I know I want to take photos, A7IV is always the choice.
Great video brotha! Was excited to see how these anamorphic lens would look, and definitely was not disappointed !
Thank you, Kyle!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 they definitely add a strong character! Wonder how these would work on fashion 🤔
Taiwanese here 🇹🇼 Do you turn off IBIS when you use this lens? I’m using the Sirui Saturn 35mm now.

@@VictorLaforteza thank you so much!
Victor do you prefer Venus or Saturn for handheld mode ?
either would work! just depends on focal length
Victor I love your content with the Sony A74
Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thank you my dude!! haha I do see it in a lot of weddings as well. Anamorphic is definitely a different beast! So many things to consider ahhh!!
Surely this lens is on the right hands 🙌
I tried brother but it’s too heavy 😂😂 thank you though 🙌🏽 always appreciate the kind words

Do you use 4:3 aspect ratio when using anamorphic lens?
That would be ideal, open gate like the Panasonic S5 or other cameras. That way you’re not cropping as much on the footage
Great video. There is no barrel distortion on the 135mm though, it’s pin cushion distortion. 😊
Yes I got them mixed them up 😭😭
awesome creation victor
Thank you! Cheers!

Your videos really tempt me into switching to Sony
They’re pretty nifty! But everything seems good nowadays just have to base it from your workflow and features that you need!
Now we’re talking!!!
the lens hit differently!!!
Personally I like how the squeeze on the 1.33x lenses look but if the shoot script and story demand a 1.8x shot, I don't see why it wouldn't make a valuable addition to the film you're making.
I like the 1.33 too! Subtle yet adds a bit of character! But yes, when the project calls for it definitely use it!!
🔥🔥
the model asian looks beautiful,What's Her Name?
Yo!
Real quick, could I know the font you used in your thumbnail please?
Honestly don't think it's too much. IMO, I think it depends on what the person is going for.
Yup!!! If the project calls for it it’s quite great!!
Shieeet that’s a tank
Dude! Took over half of my brevite bag😭😭
Those flares are hideous haha. Otherwise, it is a pretty good looking lens!
Flare overload 😂 but it’s weird though it’s either flaring hard or not at all.. Damian mentioned he had a hard time getting it to flare.
This channel 👍
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
☺️
Love the lens. But gosh it’s just so big (I know it all relative)
It’s a monster lens!!!
How to make a video cinematic:
- wide aspect ratio
- green filter
- small yellow subtitles for no reason..
You’ve figured it out 👏🏽👏🏽
你会说中文呀?😀
会啊!
🤝🫡
The rolling shutter jello of a74 makes it looks 🤮 not cinematic.. don’t insult the term cinematic
The lens isn’t the a7iv though and the a7iv isn’t the cinematic part of it.
