The macro close up B-Roll is all shot with this lens and if you want to see the final video of what we were shooting. You can see the videos here instagram.com/maccosmeticstaiwan?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
As a comparison, the DZO Vespid FF is $400 more expensive and doesn’t have macro (minimum focus distance is 14.5”!). That being said, you pay more for lenses because of the image that comes out of it and not specs, but I think the image is pleasing and for under $1k, it’s a great option for a FF cinema lens. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I really wanted the vespids but the 50mm didn’t cut it for me. Character is a bit much for my work and I needed something cleaner especially on the edges. I do like the vespids for a more stylized look that could work for fashion! I might compare them at some point this year as well!
Nice one, I am still wanting to win those Lut's so I can try them out hahaha. I agree with you that 50mm is much nicer, I also had the 90mm Macro Sony and hated it. It was so hard to get focus specially with Autofocus, it would hunt around and take for ever to get focus. I sold it about 6 months later after only using it a handful of times and I do a lot of beauty work but it was just not good in my opinion. Looks like a great lens. Thanks for the video.
One of these videos man!! Haha If you got some footage you wanna try I’m happy to show you how it looks! Going back to the lens, yeah I rented the 90mm most of the time and while it worked, I didn’t enjoy using it because of the quirks. Maybe we need Sony 90mm macro mark 2… that lens is so old tech but ya the Sirui seem to work well given the situation. Still need to test it out on other scenes but I’m confident it’ll perform well
I understand but the look it gives is just clean and neutral so I focused on what features works for me. I do wish I had more time to work on the video to show more variety. Maybe a part 2 at some point.

@@VictorLaforteza I’d be interested in that 💪🏻
The model looks gorgeous.
I get inspired every time you make a video on the sirui lenses. Might be time to snag one

Seems like the 14, 24, and 35 are almost macro!

not nearly enough actual shots from the camera for me to give an opinion tbh

The TT Artisan 50mm F2 is still better value 😂
