I love this type of video. Less tutorial and more telling a story and showing off one of your jobs from start to finish. No need to do a tutorial in every video due to your plethora of amazing how-to's in your video history. Great job.
Fantastic as always, Sandro. I could never claim to be remotely close to your level, but your videos have had a substantial positive impact on my own detailing techniques-and I am quite grateful. Stay strong, brother.
Sandro what an outstanding example on how to detail a second hand car. When it comes to age Geting old is inevitable but growing up is optional. When it comes to cars we never seem to grow up. Its amazing how quickly detailing becomes more than a job and turns it to a passion. Plus the pursuit of knowledge to become a better detailer. Theres nothing better than seeing the customers face when they see the finished result. It makes all the blood sweat and tears worth it. Keep the great videos coming In sandro we trust
I like that mate “getting old is inevitable, growing up is optional” - very true, just like we work on cars and other things, we also have to work on ourselves and hopefully the aging will bring wisdom with it! Thanks as always mate!
This is among the best I've seen. I work with car details myself. But never have the time to do this kind of work. You are so professional!!! All the details and all the steps in the process. I am very impressed. Really Nice job
Sandro, you are the best on the web. That’s as close to perfection that you can get, and it’s not even your top tier correction package. It looks fantastic!
Been busy on my own channel to watch you tube but it's great to sit and enjoy a truly satisfying video packed out with information, knowledge, tips and high quality production is incredible. I hope your well pal
Absolutely stunning mate. Came up awesome. My wife tells me I spend too long on a car when I spend an entire day detailing. Her jaw just hit the deck when she heard you say it took a whole week 😂 Love your work mate
Lexus has always had great quality. Paint is on the soft side as you mentioned, carpet on certain models vary from standard to more luxury woven type. But working on soft black paint can be horrible. Thanks for a great video again Sandro.
I have been following you for a long time. Years gone by. I often watch many different channels. I also have a little business aside my dayjob. So. What I'm trying to say. Is that I have learned so much from you. As I see it, you may very well be one of the best detailers around the globe. I wish you health and prospirity and finally a good balance between work and life itself! Greetings from Sweden!

The best detail channel on UA-cam handsdown. You do some absolutely stunning work and as a detailer of 18yrs I'm always watching your videos so i can improve and always push myself. You never stop learning. Amazing work sandro!
Omg a new CCAD video AND a Lexus (too bad it’s an suv) i must be dreaming. The shine is real. The color of the car now really stands out. Fantastic job!
Holy moly, what an awesome outcome to your hard work, shame I don’t live near you, would be on the phone to have you work you magic on my ride. All the best Sandro
Brilliant work as usual. My daughter owned the dark grey F-Sport version of that car in a 2019 model, with the same wheels - so I have detailed that exact car. I'm glad you called DeScale "acid-leaning" because I measured it as 4.5 pH although CarPro says it's 6.0 - either way it's on the acid side, while some people call it neutral. Those grilles are a PAIN! Where did you get those little foam attachments you used for behind the door handle? CQ on top of DQ - interesting - haven't seen anyone else do that yet. Owner got his money's worth! Great video as usual - video production was top notch.
Thanks mate and yes, every Lexus Grill is a bit of a pain to clean well haha That’s interesting that Carpro claims Descale is almost neutral at 6 on the scale, but 4.5 isn’t anything crazy, it’s still far less than lemon juice and vinegar. The attachment used for the door handle wells is part on the kit with the Shine Mate Eb210 polisher.
I much prefer seeing beautifully detailed cars on the road than something new and sexy. I saw a stock grey 2013 rav 4 the other day, just gleaming top to toe. It stood out and I thought the owner was a person of substance to keep the car so nice.
It came out better than new from the dealer, that's for sure! I am an owner of two cars Sandro which were delivered brand new and you know what?))) Exactly, have spend some time fixing them before ceramic coating. Can tell even more - dealer had two new equal in spec and colour cars and I have chosen the less scratched one))))) Appreciate your patient work man and great to hear customer's feedback! Cheers from rainy and swimming after huge snowfalls Sweden)
Thanks as always Sergey, new cars are unfortunately never as “new” as they should be, but great to hear you put the work in to get them up to “scratch” :)
I trust you because you detail based on results and what works, not chasing or hawking the latest products that manufacturers send to promote. So many other detail channels chase the products to make $$ off commissions. They are basically infomercials disguised as a “how to detail” video. While I’m sure you make $$ in various ways from your productions and product links, you don’t hype the latest products as if they are the best ever. Thank you for being a GENUINE space in an otherwise promotion-disguised world, which I find to be dishonest and one giant commercial.
Hi, thanks for taking the time making your video and tips. I was interested in the chronological steps you took for the stages in the journey. Nice background music. No 100% outcome possible. Detailing is good for the soul for us hobbyists. Thanks for not hard selling anything. Fresh air these days! Academic and learned. Greetings from Sydney!
Nice to hear that and my pleasure. The wash stage steps were: The wheel cleaning The engine bay cleaning Pre-foam & rinse over exterior Hand wash & rinse Brush out trims & rinse Chemically/mechanically treat/clay,rinse Towel & blow dry The vehicle was then single stage polished including all the paint, gloss/clear trims & glass. Then each area was given an IPA wipe before applying the ceramic coatings in this order: Wheels Engine bay Glass Paint & trims.
Hey Sandro, what is that foam tip attachment you're using to polish the inside of the door handle at the 24:14 mark? And are you using that on a nano polisher? Thanks mate.
A small detail but the kwazar double trigger sprayers are completely underated carpel tunnels worst nightmare amazing video and content as always sandro ❤
Thank you Sandro for making these videos. My cars thank you. Even if I did not have a car, I still love your videos. Your talent and drive are inspiring. You are like the Fëanor of detailing. May Eru Ilúvatar continue to bless you, and may your cars shine with the light of the Silmarils.
Unfortunately you can’t - that chrome like finish found on many newer cars is in my experience a very thin platting/coating tint and any attempt to correct/polish will most likely remove it and ruin the finish.
Great video tutorial! I have the same car. Do you mind telling me where to mask areas of the engine bay before prepping it with engine degreaser? I did see yellow tape, but could quite get a closer look on the exact components. Also, what masking material you use to keep the water from getting into the unit?
Thanks and the masking tape was Kamoi Kabuki and the masking plastic was the Uni-Pro Uni-mask roll - but most masking tapes and plastic sheeting will be fine. The areas to mask are any exposed electrical connectors you see, battery terminals, the alternator and air intake opening.
Absolutely fantastic video Sandro. I love seeing you at work. What was that light you used to check for high spots? It reminded me of a softbox light but handheld. Super cool. Thanks!
Sandro…..big fan of your work and video skills. Got a question for you: what do you do about decals/stickers that are factory applied? For instance, Jeep Wrangler’s have a sticker on the hood saying: RUBICON. Looking to paint correct and polish the jeep.
If the decades have a gloss finish you can polish over them, if they have a matte finish you can either mask them with tape or use mini/nano polishers and pads to polish around them.
Amazing work as always! I have to echo what equestrianwhiskey said-you’ve been a big inspiration for me in my work. Do you find that the clay towel leaves behind more marring on gloss black trims, just because of how sensitive they tend to be? Or do you even worry about that because of the polishing stage that follows?
Really nice to hear that mate! Yes, clay marring is alway more significant on softer clears and the piano black almost always tend to have the most sensitive clears. It’s not a real concern as although clay marring is quite visible and wide spread it’s also very light depth wise, so it comes out super easy.
Hey Sandro, someone applied detailing product on my steering wheel and its been extremely slippery which is dangerous because sometimes it slipped out of my hand, it's been like this for about a year and don't know what to do. How do I get rid of the slipperiness and make it normal or mildly sticky again?
It’s really uncommon for any interior dressing/protectant to last that long especially on a steering wheel where it tends to wear off first - could be an exterior solvent based dressing. An interior APC/cleaner (like Carpro Inside or Multi-X diluted) should remove it, if it’s a leather you have to be more careful and gentle as not to damage it - but a solvent dressing on for that long on leather may have compromised it.
Through my own testing I’ve found that most pro coatings I use do tend to last longer than the consumer based ones in general. Dlux is still fantastic for wheels but I’d expect DQPRO to out last it.
Hi Sandro! Love your videos, they are very professional and also realistic. 1 question i got for you, After applying ceramic coating on a car, should the coating thickness increase? compared to the before readings. Thank you
Thanks, really nice to hear that! Typically a good ceramic coating will usually add 2-3 microns, so it’s realistically not something you’re going see as an increase in the paint’s measurement being that car paint isn’t all that consistent and already varies quite a bit in thickness from section to section.
Hello Sandro from South Australia😉 Fantastic work as your usual high standard and that engine bay looked like it was on a new from your cleaning even before coating it. Love your work buddy.💪
Fantastic job Sandro!!!! As always ;-) I do have one question! Did you apply only one layer of Dquartz Pro and one layer of Cquartz Pro? CarPro recommends aplying two layers of Dquartz and one layer of Cquartz Pro as topping....
Thanks mate and yes it was 1 layer of each, I’ve done loads of first hand testing to confirm it works extremely well, have additionally had this comb on a high mileage daily for about a year now and it’s exceeding expectations. You can absolutely do 2+1, 3+1, 2+2, etc .. but after any 2 layers you only start gaining mild advantages so you also need to make a cost vs time vs reward assessment - you can make that choice with your client.
Hi Sandro, Fantastic video with great production values. Top work on the car, you have really done that fabulous colour justice.👍👍👍 All the best, John.
Dear Sentric, please can I ask? In general what is the structure of your detailing packages, and what they include....an average? One more question,On a situation like this, you agreed at start for step correction package, inspite you achieved what maybe 2 steps could also achieve. So the general packages, prising, are are based on time spented, results what is the general thought behind. And what level of paint correction did you offered the older days you was Mobile? Thanks a lit. Again Great video
These days I don’t really have structured packages, I tend to just chat with my clients and listen to what they want to achieve, offer them options based on their wants and an inspection, estimate the time it will take me, charging accordingly for that time/labour. Within that time frame I will pursue the best result I can regardless of whether it meets or surpasses what I agreed to deliver. In my mobile detailing days I did have more structured packages, but also didn’t tend to do higher end work, it was more simple basic and honest work and also more affordable.
Amazing job as always Sandro, do you purchase majority of your products online and get them delivered? I am wanting to start a new detailing business in WA and take huge inspiration from your videos, I would love to know how/where you purchase your products as a business owner
Thanks mate, and these days I do get most of my products from Waxit (here’s a link just in case you’re not familiar with them) www.waxit.com.au/?ref=1NNwBEgP4yO4AX as they are the distributors for Carpro, Nv, Scholl, Shine Mate and most of the brands and gear I tend to use and I use to get orders delivered but I mostly get it from their warehouse now - they do also have click and collect. You can setup a trade account and get substantial discounts if you have a registered business and also apply for certification if you wish to use pro level CQuartz & Nv coatings, and I also teach detailing classes there - hope that helps mate and wish you the very best with your business!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingyour an absolute legend Sandro, thanks so much for the info and I hope your able to continue making such great content. I’m sure a lot of us take huge inspiration from it
Thanks, and both Nv Purify and Purge are two of the least offensive smelling products with iron removal chemistry - way better than Iron-x in that area 🙂
I have to say that new car prices are out of control and are rip offs. I’m in nz and a good example is if you want a new golf gti it is $77,000! There isn’t much new tech and is same engine but new revision (my 2011 gti brand new fully loaded was $46,000!)
I’ve done and shown tar removal in many past videos - the reason I wouldn’t use a tar remover in many cases is because it’s simply not required, there has to be specific contamination I’m trying to remove, otherwise I won’t just use it needlessly.
He uses an IPA wipe. I’ve never seen a detailer snow foam before applying a coating. You’d have to dry it and possibly introduce the marring you just removed. And then you’d have to IPA it anyway to make sure there’s no residual chemicals.
I am referring to touchless rinse snow foam n pressure off . I do have many compound powder trap near window gap n gap between panel..so I am wondering am I doing right to rinse them off
I have done so in the past, usually with very heavy corrections - sanding, wool and rotary work - where there was loads of dust and some sling/splatter - but I tend to work a lot cleaner these days and if it’s not necessary I prefer not to add additional steps after correction.
That car is not like new it's a higher grade, Sandro NEW. Having a 2020 myself I'm glad to see I have decent clear coat thickness. Curious, what do you recommend for protection on the soft rubber weatherstripping at the top of the grill where it meets the hood and at the bottom of the doors? Thank you, great job.
Thanks mate, nice to hear that. I’ve found that water based protectants tend to leave those rubbers in the best condition, something like Perl or 303 Aerospace used every couple of months could be a great way to go. Just be sure to work it in well and a little generously, allow it to sit for a good 30-60mins so the rubber can take in as much of it as possible, and then gently level off any excess.
It’s a TakeNow Flood light, but unfortunately they no longer make it. Someone did mention to me that they found a similar one searching the net but I unfortunately don’t have a link, sorry.
I still like Eraser, I feel it cleans as well as IPA solutions I’ve made myself but has more slip and work time and is just very nice to use. Shine Supply ThrowBack is also very good.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingspeaking of panel wipes, I’ve tried a few new ones and while very slick and user friendly, they were too strong for softer black paint. Left behind toweling marks after buffing. Eraser seems to have a good balance. I also like Meguiars M122.
Claying does ultimately mar paint, it can be very little marring on hard paints with gentle technique or quite strong marring on story paint with a more aggressive technique - as long as you appreciate that, you can decide whether or not to polish afterwards.
Very good content. I am so glad I found your channel, I only mess with my own cars and occasionally will clean a family or friend's car but you helped me to decide on a ceramic coating and I hope to do a full decon, polish and apply it later this spring. Thank you for the good info and inspiration. 😄😄
Sandro, you probably feel your detailing videos get repetitive but your fans can't wait to watch you do your magic.

Cheers mate 🙏🏻
Keep up your fantastic work ❤
Awesome video
master class video
Hi Sandro,
Fantastic video with great production values. Top work on the car, you have really done that fabulous colour justice.👍👍👍
All the best, John.
Thanks John, so nice to hear than mate, also wishing you the best!
What is the time commitment to a project like this?
It was 35-40hrs
Hey, What is the inspection light used for the ceramic coating?
Thanks mate, and these days I do get most of my products from Waxit (here’s a link just in case you’re not familiar with them) www.waxit.com.au/?ref=1NNwBEgP4yO4AX
as they are the distributors for Carpro, Nv, Scholl, Shine Mate and most of the brands and gear I tend to use and I use to get orders delivered but I mostly get it from their warehouse now - they do also have click and collect.
I’m sure a lot of us take huge inspiration from it
Always an inspiration!
A very "satisfying" video as always. Btw, how is the smell of Purify compared to, say, Carpro IronX?
Thanks, and both Nv Purify and Purge are two of the least offensive smelling products with iron removal chemistry - way better than Iron-x in that area 🙂
Hey Sandro, Im from the U.S. ,sorry to bug you, but can you recommend me some ceramic soaps for my foam cannon, I would greatly appreciate it...
If it’s soaps for washing and maintaining a ceramic coating I would suggest Carpro Reset or Nv Snow.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing what if for a non protected vehicle, jus to lay slight protection, for funzzies? Lol!
@bishoprain9287 I’m not a big user of those, but I think Bowden’s Own Happy Ending is good as is Carpro Hydro2Foam
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Awesome! Thank you!
beautiful video!!
I have to say that new car prices are out of control and are rip offs. I’m in nz and a good example is if you want a new golf gti it is $77,000! There isn’t much new tech and is same engine but new revision (my 2011 gti brand new fully loaded was $46,000!)
Hi Sandro. I don’t usually see you do tar removal step. Any reason why? Awesome video and great detailing 🙌
I’ve done and shown tar removal in many past videos - the reason I wouldn’t use a tar remover in many cases is because it’s simply not required, there has to be specific contamination I’m trying to remove, otherwise I won’t just use it needlessly.
Great video. It has been saved in a folder😁😁
Thanks. Very good lesson. Really appreciate this video 😊
Do u snow foam rinse after polish stage to get rip of polish compound powder?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks. 🤝🏻
Hello Sandro, may I ask for the link of white rounded face inspection light after ceramic.application.
It’s a TakeNow Flood light, but unfortunately they no longer make it. Someone did mention to me that they found a similar one searching the net but I unfortunately don’t have a link, sorry.
Which IPA pannel wipe product do you think is the best? thank you. :)
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you❤🎉
Great video! About how long this detail take you and what's an average price one should budget for something like this?
Thanks it was about 35hrs+, typically about a hundred per hour is standard for this work.
Can I use clay towel without polishing the paint? Does it mar the paint?
Claying does ultimately mar paint, it can be very little marring on hard paints with gentle technique or quite strong marring on story paint with a more aggressive technique - as long as you appreciate that, you can decide whether or not to polish afterwards.
Great job 👌
Thank you
Awesome job.
I have the exact same car.
You've inspired me to have a go.
😊👍💯
Amazing video man keep up,
What’s your thought about eb210 after a while working with it? Thank you
Thank you, and I think the EB210 qualifies for legend status in the mini/macro polisher segment- it’s just a beast.
Why dont you use one step polish?
Great video.
Very good content. I am so glad I found your channel, I only mess with my own cars and occasionally will clean a family or friend's car but you helped me to decide on a ceramic coating and I hope to do a full decon, polish and apply it later this spring. Thank you for the good info and inspiration. 😄😄
It’s really nice to hear the videos have been helpful and I’m sure you’ll do an amazing job!
What speed do you usually use for soft paint,?
The same mid to high speeds with DA polishers and low to mid speeds with rotaries regardless
Does coating the grill sensor effect the sensor at all. Mine looks horrible but I've been afraid to coat it
No, I’ve used many coatings on many sensors and it’s never been an issue.
