Rudnik is so gentle with you especially when he noses your tummy. He is so intuned to you and he knows you have his brother is in your tummy. I have had problems with orders coming from overseas and it’s frustrating hopefully you will get them soon.
He really is! He used to nearly knock me over with his head butts/head rubs but he’s gotten so much more aware of his size and so gentle over the last few months 🥹

He spent 6 weeks in the NICU before he could come home, and then he had a heart/apnea monitor for a few months. He turned out fine though, you'd never know he was premature. He's turning 34 in a couple weeks. I felt so big at 30 weeks, I couldn't imagine going another 2 months. You don't look as big as I was!
Such a good boy! I wish I had taken videos of how impossible it was to get near his feet when I first adopted him, he’s come SUCH a long way even now picking his foot up for me before I even get there 🥹

Go to your nearest Target or Maternity shop and get some maternity jeans. They will probably last thru the balance of the pregnancy. And Oh Yeah - Rudnik knows you have something going on in there! Unfortunately because it was already shipped it’s out of the company’s hands so it’s down to UPS now for the delays. However I did finally receive an update today after nothing since the 20 and it’s finally in Canada now! So I’m thinking they must have lost it in their warehouse at some point for it to be stuck in Germany for 2 weeks. So hopefully I should have them by tomorrow finally! I’ve also been stocking up on maternity jeans, leggings and pants from the thrift stores so I do have some options at least! And yes I agree - Rudnik definitely knows somethings brewing now 😂♥️

Since I found out I’m pregnant, he does have a tendency to linger at the gate longer than he used to. Before he would take off as soon as I removed his halter but now he usually sticks with me until I leave first 🥹 which only makes it harder to leave everytime. He’s become a very clingy boy! 🥰
Being one with our horse doesn’t have to include riding. Just doing fun things together and grooming is great! He know you love him! He’s precious God bless

He has actually lost a bit more weight since being off all the rich grass, which is great! He’s definitely in a much healthier weight bracket now and there’s no longer concern for all the issues that came with the extra weight. He’ll always be chunky of course because of his breeding but he’s definitely a lot fitter now! 🥰
I admire your goal to continue riding during late pregnancy….may I just say this …when I was young I was a distance runner and I worked 12 hour shifts…I got preggers and was delighted determined not to change a thing…two months later..I had a miscarriage…so a large percentage of women have them…then a few months later I was pregger again…stopped working 12 hour shifts and went to 8 hour shifts … no heavy lifting….at four months had another miscarriage…now I asked my doctor if I could do my usual things and he said yes …up to the third miscarriage which was more of a premature birth…there was no reason for the miscarriages except that I refused to give up anything…thus I learned my first lesson in parenthood….you will suffer a heartbreak compared to nothing you can experience when you lose a child in pregnancy…and you will learn you will have to give up your own desires to ensure your child is born safe and healthy….i know NONE OF MY BUSINESS…BUT PLEASE…to sacrifice a few weeks of riding in favor of having a healthy baby❤it’s worth it
Thank you so much for your concern and I am SO sorry for all the heartache and loss you’ve experienced 💔😭 I am definitely taking your words to heart and have and will continue to be cautious in what I do these last couple of months. I have been off work since August now so unfortunately my only physical activity is walking/biking with my husky and Rudnik. But even if we don’t ride I can find plenty of ways to stay active with him on the ground. To be honest the energy for riding has depleted quite a bit so even when we do ride it’s very small, slow walks around the arena with my fiancé near by. Even with the safest horses you never know what could happen so I am definitely proceeding with caution especially these final couple of months. So i really do appreciate your comment ♥️ again I am so sorry for what you’ve been through, I cannot even imagine suffering so much loss and heartache 😭 we are sending you our love ♥️♥️
That's tragic, yeah everyone is getting that advice that you can do everything you normally do but how would they test that? Many pregnant women start taking afternoon rest.naps, putting their swolen feet up but how would that work for a woman who needs to keep working full time and has a physical job? I've seen woman brag OL lifting heavy in the gym, but the tension can put pressure on their baby and cut off blood supply on that baby. Plus the whole weakening of the tendons and ligaments. I think doctors should tell women not to press it. I don't think very mild horse riding is such an extreme danger though, depending on how late in pregnancy.
@@rudniktheroan I mentioned in another thread that my son was born 2 months premature... well when I first went into premature labor, I was at 3 cm, so they gave me something to stop labor and something to speed up his lung development, and I was put on complete bedrest in order to keep him in me as long as possible. When I say complete bedrest, that meant actually laying down, as sitting puts pressure on your cervix. When I think of someone riding horse while pregnant, all I can think of is all that extra pressure on the cervix, with legs spread no less. I'm sure it works out fine for some women, but it's a risk you should be aware of. Btw, my premature labor began as lower back pain and then some cramping, which I never would've recognized as labor if a co-worker hadn't mentioned that her labor started out as lower back pain, so be extra cautious if you're feeling anything like that, and see your doctor. Another story... I know someone who accidentally got pregnant as a teenager, and she was in denial and continued to do all her normal activities, including horseback riding, and she had a miscarriage (which in her case was a blessing). Of course this happens to a certain percentage of pregnancies, so maybe it would've happened anyway, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Of course it's your business, but I thought you should have as much information as possible to base your decision on. I assume this is your first pregnancy, so you wouldn't know yet if you happen to be a woman who is susceptible to miscarriage or premature labor. My pregnancy was completely normal, until it wasn't (and there was no specific reason I went into early labor), so you never can tell. I wish you the best of luck! 🤰👣

The frustration I felt seeing him roll after a brushing is probably how he felt when I brushed him after a roll 😂🤣 like ‘really? You’re undoing all my work…’
It really is! His winter coat is coming in SO thick and dark! But he’s got just enough little white hairs still that he hasn’t lost his ‘blue’ yet. I love seeing the changes he goes through every year 😍
I love Rudnik- he loves you so much. and he knows that you got a little one on the way. My Late Gelding Ferari (Purebred Arabian)was very attentive when I was pregnat with my daughter. Plus he taught her to ride when she got older. :D

‘The hots’ are no joke! I ALWAYS ran cold my entire life so it’s weird feeling so hot all the time especially now that it’s started getting so cold outside! I have 2 fans going at night and the window open. My poor fiancé (who naturally runs HOT) is freezing at night while I’m laying there with barely a sheet on just cooking 😂🥲

I was curious and went to Amazon online and typed "Women's maternity riding breeches" in the search bar and there were three at the top of the page for around $50 dollars. I don't know anything about this type of clothing, but I wondered why you had to order from Germany? Anyway, good luck, and I hope you get the order that you've already paid for soon!
Hi, I’m an ancient 69 yr old now, and wanted to pass my hack along. I know this doesn’t fix the money aspect of the issue, but when I was pregnant I picked a pair of pants that I was willing to sacrifice, and cut a panel out from under the belly straight up including the waistband from side seam to side seam. Sewed in a replacement panel from stretchy dark fabric with elastic on top. Eventually had to remove the elastic as well. This worked beautifully and those pants were in use for quite awhile afterwards till my body had decided what the new me would looked like. They didn’t look maternity.I figure the minute they were ready to wear the new ones will arrive from Germany. Then you’ll have two pairs Yay!
I feel your pain! German customs is painfully slow and inefficient! We tried to send a rosary, a simple little rosary, to a friend's grandmother in Dusseldorf... you'd think we were smuggling iCBMs!! It got returned to us twice, and lost the third time.
I think many women wear their usual pants but with elastic between the button and the buttonhole. If your riding breeches don't have a button I think cutting down the back seam, inserting a peace of fabric for extra space and undoing it after the birth isn't too hard. You can do front and back and sideseams depending on how much space you need. They also sell these wide elastic belly bands that cover the top of leggings and pants that may be open up top or are pushed down under the belly. A big sweater over it and no one sees any state of pants, haha In case anyone actually cares with a pregnant woman.
That is actually a really good idea! I don’t have any that I’d be brave enough to do that to right now but that would be great idea to keep in mind. If I ever find some cheap thrifted I could definitely do that with them to give myself some more options! Thankfully I only have a couple months left to go and I won’t have to worry about it anymore 😂
@@rudniktheroan Yeah that's the thing with maternity pants, expensive and you only need them for a few months. Maybe they would actually end up in thriftstores because of that. I've adjusted quite a number of pants, just with handsewing as I always wear stuff over my waist anyway and I often buy OL and that means less risk buying bigger, they I take it in in the back so it stays up, haha
You look amazing!! Great job with your pregnancy and keep it up and yes stay active for as long as you can. It sounds like you are listening to to you body and when you’re tired you rest. Keep it up. As far as riding, can you ride in sweatpants? I would just throw on a pair and go ride! That is my two cents of advice😂 .. ❤❤
Thank you! 🥰 and yes I could technically haha but in an English saddle sweat pants can be quite slippery and make it hard to stay in your seat and remain balanced, so that’s why I opted for the full seat breaches. They have rubber grips inside the legs and on the butt to provide stability and prevent slipping in the seat 😊

Bite marks are just a normal part of horses living with other horses unfortunately. It’s unavoidable and it’s just part of horses living in a herd. Like little boys and scraped knees. And I’m just about 8 months now! It’s going quickly but at the same time feels like it’s already been a year of being pregnant 😂

Hey, I am also waiting for a package that is supposed to be delivered [I am in Virginia US] by now, also stuck in Germany after having left India 10 days ago. I literally have over 20 alerts saying the package is being "prepared" to fly out via Lufthansa Frieght. I cannot find any new about delays or trouble that could cause this delay either.
That’s pretty much what I was getting too - it just kept saying ‘in transit’ but never even left the facility in Germany for two weeks. I’d get ‘estimated delivery dates’ and then it would constantly get put back. I’m not sure what’s going on over there but thankfully my package is finally in Canada as of this morning so I should have it tomorrow!
I wish, I wish I were rich so I could buy you guys a home, a ranch for the family, dogs and of course Rudnik. I’m so emotional knowing you can’t see him everyday. 😭 it breaks my heart 💔to see you guys have to leave 😢 I don’t even understand why I’m crying except maybe because I’m facing soon I’ll lose my dog girl who will be 18 on Thanksgiving day, suffering from kidney ailment, blind and deaf. What would the difference be between maternity breeches and maternity jeans? Also, is Rudnik's dust skin dust or rollin' in the dirt dust? And I'm sure to Rudnik, a week is for-ev-er. So he definitely misses you with that look he gave you.
Breeches are English style riding pants. They have a rubber beading up the inside of the leg and on the butt that helps you keep your seat better in English saddles. I prefer them because it helps reduce movement when in the saddle. I could definitely wear jeans but then I find I tend to slide around in the saddle more. It all really just comes down to personal preference. I know many people who ride English saddles in jeans - I just really like having the ‘full seat’ grip when riding 🙂

Well, it might be a bit hokey, but you could always see if you can find some grippy iron-on patches for the seat of some jeans or maybe use a hot glue gun to just put some tracks on the seat to offer some grippage. Something to give you the security while waiting for the expensive ones to show up. (And even if they show up after Rudnik's buddy appears, they may feel good postpartum. And you'll be ready when 'future buddies' decide to join the fun. 😁)
I’ve honestly come so close to getting a hot glue gun and making my own ‘full seat’ riding pants 😂😂 it really wouldn’t be that hard and would probably save me SO much money

So his winter coat is actually the long plushy black fur. The shorter hair is the white that gives him the silver look. His white hairs are still shedding and as his black coat fills in more he’ll become SO much darker! I’m so excited to show off his JET BLACK winter coat once it’s fully in😍
You can do dressage with him, just go a little slower and he will mirror you. You said you wanted to. He watches your feet. Don't be upset about getting bigger. It's all baby and in the tummy. Find riding pants that stretch. You can have a seamstress put plastic on the sides of your pants. Don't get discouraged. There are solutions
@@JRTurgeon13 he’s always done that, he’s just resting. Horses will lean into their hip and offset the weight from their one foot same as we would shift and lean our weight from one side to the other when standing 🙂
Have you considered the delays in life as blessings? In my later years I know there were times I was delayed in some manner that ended up either benefiting or keeping me from a negative outcome. I have often thought about times when I was held up from leaving the house and wondered if something bad would have happened if I’d have left on time. Maybe during this specific time your baby or your body needs you not to ride. Just a thought ❤

My fiancé and I are working very hard to mitigate the chances the best we can. He’ll be off work for the first few weeks as well to help me with everything and we’re very open with communication so I’m really hopeful that we can work through it even if it does happen! A strong support system is definitely a must and I’m so blessed to have just that 🥰

I admire your goal to continue riding during late pregnancy….may I just say this …when I was young I was a distance runner and I worked 12 hour shifts…I got preggers and was delighted determined not to change a thing…two months later..I had a miscarriage…so a large percentage of women have them…then a few months later I was pregger again…stopped working 12 hour shifts and went to 8 hour shifts … no heavy lifting….at four months had another miscarriage…now I asked my doctor if I could do my usual things and he said yes …up to the third miscarriage which was more of a premature birth…there was no reason for the miscarriages except that I refused to give up anything…thus I learned my first lesson in parenthood….you will suffer a heartbreak compared to nothing you can experience when you lose a child in pregnancy…and you will learn you will have to give up your own desires to ensure your child is born safe and healthy….i know NONE OF MY BUSINESS…BUT PLEASE…to sacrifice a few weeks of riding in favor of having a healthy baby❤it’s worth it
Thank you so much for your concern and I am SO sorry for all the heartache and loss you’ve experienced 💔😭 I am definitely taking your words to heart and have and will continue to be cautious in what I do these last couple of months. I have been off work since August now so unfortunately my only physical activity is walking/biking with my husky and Rudnik. But even if we don’t ride I can find plenty of ways to stay active with him on the ground. To be honest the energy for riding has depleted quite a bit so even when we do ride it’s very small, slow walks around the arena with my fiancé near by. Even with the safest horses you never know what could happen so I am definitely proceeding with caution especially these final couple of months. So i really do appreciate your comment ♥️ again I am so sorry for what you’ve been through, I cannot even imagine suffering so much loss and heartache 😭 we are sending you our love ♥️♥️
That's tragic, yeah everyone is getting that advice that you can do everything you normally do but how would they test that? Many pregnant women start taking afternoon rest.naps, putting their swolen feet up but how would that work for a woman who needs to keep working full time and has a physical job? I've seen woman brag OL lifting heavy in the gym, but the tension can put pressure on their baby and cut off blood supply on that baby. Plus the whole weakening of the tendons and ligaments. I think doctors should tell women not to press it.
I don't think very mild horse riding is such an extreme danger though, depending on how late in pregnancy.
@@rudniktheroan I mentioned in another thread that my son was born 2 months premature... well when I first went into premature labor, I was at 3 cm, so they gave me something to stop labor and something to speed up his lung development, and I was put on complete bedrest in order to keep him in me as long as possible. When I say complete bedrest, that meant actually laying down, as sitting puts pressure on your cervix. When I think of someone riding horse while pregnant, all I can think of is all that extra pressure on the cervix, with legs spread no less. I'm sure it works out fine for some women, but it's a risk you should be aware of. Btw, my premature labor began as lower back pain and then some cramping, which I never would've recognized as labor if a co-worker hadn't mentioned that her labor started out as lower back pain, so be extra cautious if you're feeling anything like that, and see your doctor. Another story... I know someone who accidentally got pregnant as a teenager, and she was in denial and continued to do all her normal activities, including horseback riding, and she had a miscarriage (which in her case was a blessing). Of course this happens to a certain percentage of pregnancies, so maybe it would've happened anyway, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Of course it's your business, but I thought you should have as much information as possible to base your decision on. I assume this is your first pregnancy, so you wouldn't know yet if you happen to be a woman who is susceptible to miscarriage or premature labor. My pregnancy was completely normal, until it wasn't (and there was no specific reason I went into early labor), so you never can tell. I wish you the best of luck! 🤰👣

He's really blue in some of the shots, and is darker far away than up close, his coat is amazing.
It really is! His winter coat is coming in SO thick and dark! But he’s got just enough little white hairs still that he hasn’t lost his ‘blue’ yet. I love seeing the changes he goes through every year 😍

I love Rudnik- he loves you so much. and he knows that you got a little one on the way. My Late Gelding Ferari (Purebred Arabian)was very attentive when I was pregnat with my daughter. Plus he taught her to ride when she got older. :D

Oh I see some of the nibbles he's gotten 😢. Poor cutie...messes up his coat! My niece had " the hots" when she was carrying . Like you have your own built-in furnace to keep you warm.
‘The hots’ are no joke! I ALWAYS ran cold my entire life so it’s weird feeling so hot all the time especially now that it’s started getting so cold outside! I have 2 fans going at night and the window open. My poor fiancé (who naturally runs HOT) is freezing at night while I’m laying there with barely a sheet on just cooking 😂🥲

I was curious and went to Amazon online and typed "Women's maternity riding breeches" in the search bar and there were three at the top of the page for around $50 dollars. I don't know anything about this type of clothing, but I wondered why you had to order from Germany? Anyway, good luck, and I hope you get the order that you've already paid for soon!
They do have a few riding clothes options but unfortunately no maternity ones - at least not on the Canada Amazon 🥲
Hi, I’m an ancient 69 yr old now, and wanted to pass my hack along. I know this doesn’t fix the money aspect of the issue, but when I was pregnant I picked a pair of pants that I was willing to sacrifice, and cut a panel out from under the belly straight up including the waistband from side seam to side seam. Sewed in a replacement panel from stretchy dark fabric with elastic on top. Eventually had to remove the elastic as well. This worked beautifully and those pants were in use for quite awhile afterwards till my body had decided what the new me would looked like. They didn’t look maternity.I figure the minute they were ready to wear the new ones will arrive from Germany. Then you’ll have two pairs Yay!

I feel your pain! German customs is painfully slow and inefficient! We tried to send a rosary, a simple little rosary, to a friend's grandmother in Dusseldorf... you'd think we were smuggling iCBMs!! It got returned to us twice, and lost the third time.
Oh no! That’s awful, it really is a shame it’s so difficult to get mail through these days. Especially with something so simple and straightforward.
I think many women wear their usual pants but with elastic between the button and the buttonhole. If your riding breeches don't have a button I think cutting down the back seam, inserting a peace of fabric for extra space and undoing it after the birth isn't too hard. You can do front and back and sideseams depending on how much space you need. They also sell these wide elastic belly bands that cover the top of leggings and pants that may be open up top or are pushed down under the belly. A big sweater over it and no one sees any state of pants, haha In case anyone actually cares with a pregnant woman.
That is actually a really good idea! I don’t have any that I’d be brave enough to do that to right now but that would be great idea to keep in mind. If I ever find some cheap thrifted I could definitely do that with them to give myself some more options! Thankfully I only have a couple months left to go and I won’t have to worry about it anymore 😂
@@rudniktheroan Yeah that's the thing with maternity pants, expensive and you only need them for a few months. Maybe they would actually end up in thriftstores because of that.
I've adjusted quite a number of pants, just with handsewing as I always wear stuff over my waist anyway and I often buy OL and that means less risk buying bigger, they I take it in in the back so it stays up, haha
You look amazing!! Great job with your pregnancy and keep it up and yes stay active for as long as you can. It sounds like you are listening to to you body and when you’re tired you rest. Keep it up.
As far as riding, can you ride in sweatpants? I would just throw on a pair and go ride! That is my two cents of advice😂 .. ❤❤
Thank you! 🥰 and yes I could technically haha but in an English saddle sweat pants can be quite slippery and make it hard to stay in your seat and remain balanced, so that’s why I opted for the full seat breaches. They have rubber grips inside the legs and on the butt to provide stability and prevent slipping in the seat 😊

It makes ya want to return the item and get a refund. I wonder why he still has bites on him? There might be a ongoing fued not settled yet. What month are you in on your pregnancy? Bite marks are just a normal part of horses living with other horses unfortunately. It’s unavoidable and it’s just part of horses living in a herd. Like little boys and scraped knees. And I’m just about 8 months now! It’s going quickly but at the same time feels like it’s already been a year of being pregnant 😂

Oh I don’t disagree! I’ve had him decked out in western a couple of times when my fiancé rides him and he definitely pulls it off! Someday I’ll be able to afford a western saddle so I can ride him western more often but for now it’s all English 😂

Hey, I am also waiting for a package that is supposed to be delivered [I am in Virginia US] by now, also stuck in Germany after having left India 10 days ago. I literally have over 20 alerts saying the package is being "prepared" to fly out via Lufthansa Frieght. I cannot find any new about delays or trouble that could cause this delay either.
That’s pretty much what I was getting too - it just kept saying ‘in transit’ but never even left the facility in Germany for two weeks. I’d get ‘estimated delivery dates’ and then it would constantly get put back. I’m not sure what’s going on over there but thankfully my package is finally in Canada as of this morning so I should have it tomorrow!

What would the difference be between maternity breeches and maternity jeans? Also, is Rudnik's dust skin dust or rollin' in the dirt dust? And I'm sure to Rudnik, a week is for-ev-er. So he definitely misses you with that look he gave you.
Breeches are English style riding pants. They have a rubber beading up the inside of the leg and on the butt that helps you keep your seat better in English saddles. I prefer them because it helps reduce movement when in the saddle. I could definitely wear jeans but then I find I tend to slide around in the saddle more. It all really just comes down to personal preference. I know many people who ride English saddles in jeans - I just really like having the ‘full seat’ grip when riding 🙂

Well, it might be a bit hokey, but you could always see if you can find some grippy iron-on patches for the seat of some jeans or maybe use a hot glue gun to just put some tracks on the seat to offer some grippage. Something to give you the security while waiting for the expensive ones to show up. (And even if they show up after Rudnik's buddy appears, they may feel good postpartum. And you'll be ready when 'future buddies' decide to join the fun. 😁)

It’s interesting to me that his winter coat is grey/silver and his short coat is darker
So his winter coat is actually the long plushy black fur. The shorter hair is the white that gives him the silver look. His white hairs are still shedding and as his black coat fills in more he’ll become SO much darker! I’m so excited to show off his JET BLACK winter coat once it’s fully in😍

You can do dressage with him, just go a little slower and he will mirror you. You said you wanted to. He watches your feet. Don't be upset about getting bigger. It's all baby and in the tummy. Find riding pants that stretch. You can have a seamstress put plastic on the sides of your pants. Don't get discouraged. There are solutions

@@JRTurgeon13 he’s always done that, he’s just resting. Horses will lean into their hip and offset the weight from their one foot same as we would shift and lean our weight from one side to the other when standing 🙂

Have you considered the delays in life as blessings? In my later years I know there were times I was delayed in some manner that ended up either benefiting or keeping me from a negative outcome. I have often thought about times when I was held up from leaving the house and wondered if something bad would have happened if I’d have left on time. Maybe during this specific time your baby or your body needs you not to ride. Just a thought ❤

My fiancé and I are working very hard to mitigate the chances the best we can. He’ll be off work for the first few weeks as well to help me with everything and we’re very open with communication so I’m really hopeful that we can work through it even if it does happen! A strong support system is definitely a must and I’m so blessed to have just that 🥰
