Man, this was just plain WONDERFUL!!! And, it brought back SO many memories of my days growing up on our registered Jersey farm in Northeast Mississippi. And, yes...we had bulls, too. I remember good old Jess who my brother, David, and I raised from a calf...and he was just like a family pet--for quite a while--until that day that he realized he was a big Jersey bull and needed to show us who's boss. Thank goodness, I had a pitch fork nearby, because that's the only thing I believe would have stopped him. Man, he was snorting snot and pawing the ground because he was frustrated at that time. A great lesson learned. We enjoyed having him for several years and he never tried attacking me again, but I quit treating him like a pet puppy. Also, I really enjoyed watching Dr. Mike. Our farm was just over the hill from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine--one of the premier vet schools in the whole Southeast US. Shoot, I was walking through the vet school one day and saw a giraffe! It had been brought to the vet school from the zoo in Jackson, MS (about 125 miles away). But, that really startled me when I saw that. Another time, I was in the vet school building and when I rounded the corner, there was a Bengal Tiger in a sling--fully sedated, of course. Another zoo creature that the vets at MSU were treating. Perhaps the most "fun" animals I saw there were the horses that belonged to actor Morgan Freeman. He is such a really nice man and was always welcome when he visited MSU. Never pretentious, but he wanted the best care for his beautiful horses. All that is to say that I am so thankful y'all got Watson cared for so well. I'll bet that he'll be hopping around in no time...and "servicing" those cattle like the good bull he is. High fives for a job supremely well done, Kevin and Sarah (or, better yet, Sarah and Kevin--now, that is the correct sequence -- Ha!)! ~ Dr. Larry S. Anderson • Tupelo, MS (birthplace of Elvis)
I thought I was watching a living traditions homestead video but it turned into the hoof gp 😂 great job taking him in, and great job Dr Mike and team. Well done everyone!
I bought two bulls from Watson this year. 18 and 30 months. Both ended up with foot issues. Probably because of our hilly and rocky terrain. Beautiful animals with great temperaments.
I'm glad you include trips to the vet on your channel. They're interesting & informative. They show that there's a lot to consider before owning farm animals (or any animal, really). You have to be aware of behaviors & costs associated with care. Some can own & raise successfully while others (most of us) should leave it to the local farmers and buy meat from them. God bless and thank you.
You two are wonderful stewards of your homestead. Started watching during COVID and learned so much...sent this 76 year old on a quest for self sufficient life style.
That was so satisfying to watch Watson get a Pedicure 🙌🏿 A part of me wished y’all had done his back legs as well 🤭. He’s gonna just fine. Imagine carry Tons of weight on an injured leg 😢
@ . Makes sense, next time. That was my selfish desire for the relaxation feeling I got watching his pain and discomfort go away. You guys are Amazing Kevin & Sarah . God Bless 🙏🏿
I love your Veterinarian! He is so thoughtful. Some of us know very little about cows, bulls, or steers. He explained everything! I'm SO NOSEY! That was a wonderful video! I could watch & listen to your Veterinarian all day! I learned more in those few minutes than I ever thought possible. PLEASE thank him for all of us out here who hunger for this type of knowledge! I plan to rewatch this video several times. You never know when you might be able to give someone the advice of getting their animal to the Veterinarian! Thank you again, GOD bless
l am happy to hear you use caution with the bull, its been on my mind several times to reach out to you to always use caution! My daughters father-in law was killed by what was a pet bull ,they had the bull a year and he had always been a pet, but he was alone fixing fence and this bull attacked him and he tried to get away, but he could'nt and the bull ground his body into the dirt over and over! Stan's 90 year old father drove upon the the bull killing his son,but he was helpless, he tried to drive his truck and get between his son and the bull, but he couldn't and the bull didn't stop until a neighbor arrived and shot the bull! Stan died a horrible death! He had been around cattle his entire life!
I loved this video. I had never seen the machine that lays the critter on their side. The whole process was facinating and such love and respect shown to the bull. ❤
One thing from watching quite a few homesteading channels. Is that the folks who care for their animals like you folks do. Are the ones who have successful homestead's. Yes there is the reality of farm animal life. But the respect and care you give them is what they need. Hope he heals well and is a speedy recovery. Thank you for caring. Plus, he special. A custom boot. Sweet boy Watson.
Watson was such a good boy!! Hopefully that will be a trait passed on to his calves. You are very fortunate to have him and that his injury is expected to heal. Thanks for the great video, God bless you and yours.
The way you take care of and provide such awesome spaces to live for all your animals so impresses me. Happy Watson is going to get better. The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face continually shine upon you.
I get a little chuckle when I see animals and how they react to the camera. On the youtube channels I watch the animals, no matter what kind, have to stop and check it out. Hope Watson gets healed up and can continue to live on your homestead.
Big 👍🏻. This was great. I enjoyed watching the vet do his thing. I and that machine was something else. It handled that heavy bull with no problem. Very impressive. Wow I now it had to be done, but I bet it wasn't cheap. Great job and awesome video. Thanks for taking us with you👍🏻💛🙏🏻🐂
We have no live stack but I'm absolutly mesmerized by what your veterinarian could do to help...great job... and you being so careful and caring for your animals makes me smile every time...thank you for sharing the good and the bad of homesteading...hello from Canada 🇨🇦
So glad you noticed and got a good result ! He is a beauty as far as bulls go ! thanks for sharing so we know life is not always roses ! so glad for all of you, he will be ok !
Loved watching your video, thanks for sharing. You could see that Watson already felt better the minute he walked out. So glad you guys decided it was time to get him to his Vet.
What a sweet bull. I love watching how kind you are to your animals. I actually cried when the vet caused pain during the exam. Very thankful things are going to work out for Watson!! God is good!!
That was completely awesome showing how a large animal Vet works and the equipment they used. Thank you for that experience living in the city we never see these kind of things. Anna In Ohio
Glad it wasn’t anymore serious. You’re very lucky to have a knowledgeable competent large animal vet nearby. Watson is a very very nice bull, with a wonderful temperament!!!
Great video. Thanks for taking us along. Glad watson is on road to healing. You have yourself a good sensible bull there. ❤ cheers from New Brunswick Canada
I find this so interesting! I watch The Hoof GP on UA-cam all the time. I'm so glad Watson is going to be ok!! He's such a good bull, and handsome too!🐂
Nice video. We've dealt with lame cattle way more than we care to admit. We believe it was from vitamin, mineral imbalances. Didn't see any mineral feeders around the cows or the steers. In sheer desperation we switched to the same mineral system that Greg Judy utilizes. it'll be 4 months the 12th of November. Very positive results with our herd.

Totally agree lol😂
Watson is probably the best behaved bull I've seen. I think some animals understand you're trying to help them.
Even with the pain and discomfort, he sure is a calm one!
Poor Watson. What a gentle bull! So great that it wasn't more serious. Thank goodness for Veterinarians!
U guys are actually so blessed to have such a calm bull ! He was such a good boy
💚 What a relief that Watson should have a full recovery! He sure is so calm, what a beautiful bull. 💚
So glad the vet doesn't think it is serious. Watson is such a handsome boy.
I’m glad he is going to recover.
Watson is such a gentle soul, even when in pain and feverish. You did the right thing to seek treatment from the Vet. 🐂
Watson is so good natured I felt so bad for him .
What a good boy Watson is! He came and walked right through that gate when you called him.

What a good boy Watson was! He really has a good nature!
Watson is a beautiful bull. So glad you got him to the vet. Heal quickly Watson. God bless.
I thought I was watching a living traditions homestead video but it turned into the hoof gp 😂 great job taking him in, and great job Dr Mike and team. Well done everyone!
Nooooootttt quite The Hoof GP..
@@chaparra71 hehehe true. The accent and chute are all wrong, and sanding instead of a cutting wheel, but cow feet nonetheless.
Yeah right! it was kinda funny 😂 hope he heals up ok🎉
Love Hoof GP!
@@chaparra71Right? No squirting yellow pus!
That is an amazingly calm bull. He will probably be with you for a very long time.
He seems like a very well mannered happy mellow bull. No drama ❤😊 blessing if healing.
I bought two bulls from Watson this year. 18 and 30 months. Both ended up with foot issues. Probably because of our hilly and rocky terrain. Beautiful animals with great temperaments.
I'm so glad Watson is ok. He seems like a good-natured bull.
Good boy, Watson! Glad y'all caught it in time. Well done, All!
BTW we have Herefords. Beautiful, delightful cows.
I'm so glad you got Watson to the vet before it got any worse! That cow tipper is an amazing device. Hopefully he makes a complete recovery soon! 🙏

Ohhh! Watson is walking so much better! Praise God! 🙌
I don't have cows but I still appreciated hearing the vet's explanation. Thanks for sharing, and I hope Watson 's recovery is quick.
He seems to be really well mannered! He’s a sweetheart.
Poor baby! Having a sore foot is miserable. Your vet seems to really know his business. Glad you noticed the limp and got him some help.
He's such a sweet, calm boy.
Watson is very fortunate to have you as his owner.
❤yes
I 2nd this!!!
We had Hereford cattle for years and by far a very docile breed. But never never turn your back on a bull.
Watson is such a great Bull. So gentle.
He is a beautiful animal and a great disposition. He was a great patient and was ready to go home. He deserves a treat for that.
You two are wonderful stewards of your homestead. Started watching during COVID and learned so much...sent this 76 year old on a quest for self sufficient life style.
That was so satisfying to watch Watson get a Pedicure 🙌🏿
A part of me wished y’all had done his back legs as well 🤭. He’s gonna just fine. Imagine carry Tons of weight on an injured leg 😢
The vet said with a bull it’s important to not have them on their side for too long. That is why he decided to not do the back feet.
@ . Makes sense, next time. That was my selfish desire for the relaxation feeling I got watching his pain and discomfort go away. You guys are Amazing Kevin & Sarah . God Bless 🙏🏿
Watson seems like an amazing animal. So calm and easy going. I hope all goes well and he has a fast recovery.
I used to binge The Hoof GP sometimes. Very gnarly stuff. You got lucky.
Me too! Strange how the algorithm took me from a movie about a “dummy foal” to a Scottish hoof GP. 🥴
Love him
Watson looked like he turned toward Kevin to say thank you! ❤️
Large Animal Vets are Amazing People, thank You for Your Service. 😃
Good job, Watson. I truly appreciate your Vet and how he explained very clearly what is going on. You folks take great care of your animals.
You have an amazing vet! Best care there! Loved how he walked us tbrough each step. Speedy recovery dear Watson sweet boy❤

Good call to take him to the vet. Looks like he’s going to be ok. I love my cattle.
So glad Watson was treated. You guys care so much for your animals ❤ hope a full and speedy recovery for Watson.
That was all very interesting. Thank you for showing all this. It is nice to see so much patience and kindness with him. Such a patient boy to boot!

That is the best bull I've ever seen in my life as far as personality!!! I definitely hope you can continue his line!
Pausing as you just got him in the trailer, gosh he is a sweet calm boy! I love how you gently coaxed him. Good bull owners❤

Nice bull, and can't wait to see his babies. Very good natured to take all that by himself. He fits in at your place well!
Hoping for a speedy recover for Watson
So glad Watson will be okay. Your videos are so interesting and Dr. Mike is a great vet. Keep us posted on Watson’s progress.

Thank you for taking such good care of your animals. God Bless y'all.
Thank you for sharing this episode. It was great to see them working on him. So glad he appears ok. Hearts and flowers coming your way.❤️💐
Please watch the Hoof GP. You will learn so much about cattle’s hoofs. Poor Watson. Hope he gets better soon.
Watson is a rock star! Such a good patient.
What a good sweet boy Watson is!
Love watching how the vet lifts those big animals for treatment. I'm glad he will be fine. He is such a good-looking bull and so healthy.
What a sweet bull. Wow. I'm so glad he's gonna be ok. I'm impressed he follows you like a dog.
You 2 are great owners. I salute you both
Ouch! Poor Watson- Glad you got him to the Vet for a fast recovery❤
❤ That's great news for you and Watson. 🐂 Happy to hear it
Y’all got a good vet. Wish we did.😞😊
I watdh the Hoof GP and have learned so much about cow hoofs from him. Praying Watson heals fast. Blessings
I was going to say the same thing... it's a shame they don't have the Hoof GP there....
I was disappointed that they didn't use salicylic acid and iodine on it 😂❤
The iodine at least but salicylic acid is used to dry up lesions not open wounds.
Loved being able to see Old Watson get fixed up. Glad he is gonna be ok! ❤
So so happy Watson is going to be ok. ❤ he is a beautiful boy!!
Watson is a great boy (Bull). He's beautiful and has the best temperament. I know he feels so much better thanks to you and Dr. Mike. David and Lee
I’m always relieved when the large animal vet sorts those “unknown problems” out. They aren’t cheap, but they are necessary if you keep big critters.
I have big critters as well. And small critters. All need the attention of the vet from time to time.
That was completely awesome showing how a large animal Vet works and the equipment they used. Thank you for that experience living in the city we never see these kind of things. Anna In Ohio

Watson is a nice looking bull 🐂 God Bless you and your family ❤
