- A new variation on an old favourite using a plant based whole foods approach that is nutrient dense and high in protein (~30g!) Skip cheese if needing or wanting to avoid dairy. Also caution to those with heart conditions, on blood thinners or medications where oxalates are contraindicated, ask your medical doctor if in doubt. Otherwise this dish is high in many nutrients and a great choice for disease prevention. You can play with the flavours by adding herbs or spices or spreads such as hummus, tzatziki or babaganoush, hot pepper flakes or sliced olives on top. Swap for gluten free bread or use large sweet potatoe slices as bread replacement options. Experiment and enjoy!
