'Bullet nymphs' - Fly tying with Geoff Johnston

  • 'Bullet nymphs' in various forms are very popular among today's nymph fishermen. These are my favourites. They have evovled from a nymph that I was given in 1997 or 98 and have had a place in my box for many years.
    Dressing.
    Hook: Size 14 - 18 Partridge SUJ Jig hook
    Bead: 2.5 - 3.5mm (depending on hook size) Silver Tungsten
    Tail: Coq de Leon fibres
    Rib: Silver wire
    Abdomen: 6/0 Black Uni-thread
    Thorax cover : Black flexibody
    Thorax: No.4 Glo-Brite Fluorescent floss
    Finish with 3-4 coats of Hard as Nails varnish
