Counterstrike was an instant favourite for me when I first heard it. It’s definitely one of P5S’s most standout tracks and easily ranks highly in the series boss themes. It’s just a great mix of P5’s jazz funk style and a more hard rock style.
My favorite part of this song is how it starts in the 2nd person tense and then transitions to 1st person at the end. It makes the lyrics even more fun and interesting. Easily my favorite new song from Strikers!
This and The Battle For Everyone’s Souls are my 2 favourite songs in the series (probably in any game ever) and you’ve done them so that’s made my day! I would also love to see my other 2 favourites Snowflakes from Persona 4 Golden and Unbreakable Tie from Persona 2: Innocent Sin
@@dustydave961 One of the things I like about it is that it's super jazzy. I still not have heard it in the actual game yet but I've only just defeated Shadow Madarame and I'm now finished with that second palace. I'm doing my very first playthrough of the game and my save file right now says I've spent 26 Hours, 33 Minutes playing and I definitely have a very long way to go until I finish the game since I read the game is at least 130 Hours at least^
Dance Your Own Crazy Style On and On as You Like: this is a reference to something you could do in the OG persona game. Dance was a combat/negotiation option. One of the characters would “Dance Crazy”
I found your channel today from your Burn My Dread reaction and I have no joke watched 10+ videos of yours in a binge watch. I love what you’re doing here & I love how much you enjoy the Persona series without having played them. I love that you’re able to grasp so much about the games and their themes just from the skill of the musicians who contributed to the series. I tripped and fell into this series with Persona 5 long after it’s launch but the series is SO special that I now have a full physical collection of the entire series + vinyls of the soundtracks. Choosing a favorite game is so difficult because each entry stands on its own two feet and sets itself apart from the rest while still existing in the same series cohesively. Persona 5 Royal is probably my favorite all around in terms of gameplay, story, etc. but I have such a special place in my heart for Persona 3 and its soundtrack. Persona 3 is such an incredible blend of sounds and genres, especially when you think about how it came out in 2006. Highly considering becoming a supporter because I’d love to contribute some requests, I love seeing your reactions & hearing what you have to say about a song!!
Just found the channel. Is now my fave VGM react channel by a long shot! I've been going through the channel steadily, and this one had me wanting to comment, about you saying the Persona series don't have bad music. To me Persona games have half-and-half, these bangers and what many think of "video game music". Meaning the latter are good ambient pieces that fit the scene, but their main purpose is to make contrast and to elevate these awesome moments. Oh, and "Counterstrike" is my second favorite of the P5S OST, my number one is "Axe to Grind".
I'm not sure if this is on the table, because they are quite long, but every two years (before the pandemic) atlus would put on 2+ hour live shows of persona music. i think it would make a great reaction as they're all on youtube. maybe a good livestream reaction? then again you might want to digest the studio versions of more tracks before you watch anything live. personally i think the 2017 one is the best, though, as my two cents!
Don't know if you'll see this, but a new Persona concert will happen in October 9 and 10bof this year, they're gonna live stream it worldwide and sell tickets to it
I lost my shit when this played, first it was rivers in the desert as we fought a zord/gundam then it fecking explodes as he walks out like "now we fight man to man." or something. It was so freaking hype. Edit: oh right and he had a lightsaber in phase 2.
Didn't even watch the video, but I'm gonna predict that you'll fucking love this song. Edit: Yep. Called it! But I mean, it's Persona, I wasn't really expecting anything else. As a game overall Persona 5 Royal is my absolute favorite, also the OST from Royal (which includes vanilla Persona 5 by default) is also my favorite (Keep Your Faith is one of my 2 favorite songs from Persona, and it's from Royal!) The second one would be Pull the Trigger from Persona Q2, but there are some standouts from the remixes of mainline songs in the Persona Dancing games, like Heaven (remixed by Norihiko Hibino, yep, the guy from MGS 2 and also 3 I think) from Persona 4 Dancing All Night. Might be my next request actually!
@@Raddkann I love instrumentals, the way the guitar cries is just beautiful to me. Not that Lyn's vocals are less impressive, it's just a matter of preference, both are amazing pieces of music :)
You know when I first got strikers on the switch I was trying my damn hardest not to spoil anything and I kept seeing all these comments about how hype this song was and let me say, cannot agree more this is an absolute energy rush
When it comes to favorites, I have to say P3. Both P2 games (there are 2 Persona 2 games: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment) and P3 have general darker themes than the other entries in the series. P3 hit me on a personal level, and during a time in my life that made it leave a large impact in my life. Of course I won't go into spoilers, but very few games do I leave while balling my eyes out like Persona 3. An absolute gem of a game, cannot recommend it enough.
Meguro ranks among my top game music composers. Not hard to figure out why. I'm a huge metal person, raised in classical music, really love groovy af stuff too as a former drummer (my teacher was a latin and jazz guy so yeah, I wanted chops so I chose accordingly lol). And this composer has made me enjoy very poppy stuff and all too because while it does use the conventions of the style, stuff is just so well constructed you can't hate on it.
@@gbtygfvyg Didn't say it was. Was speaking to their talking about series flavour. Which I probably should have actually typed because it's not like you can guess which bit of thing said promped my comment.
Persona 5 Strikers (Scramble in Japan) is a sequel to Persona 5 and takes gameplay elements from Dynasty Warriors. It's great for what it is and in my opinion even has the better soundtrack than the main game.
If you love Persona tracks this much, just *imagine* how much you'll love them within the context of the game to game moments! I know you're a super busy man, but if there's a series you absolutely have to give a shot, it's this one. My personal recommendations would be Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 (Royal or not). 3 is a bit of a slog and can drag for a major chunk of the game before picking up way later down the line (just barely sticking the landing in my opinion), so I think a first exposure would definitely be one of the aforementioned. Can't go wrong with either in my opinion. LONG LIVE PERSONA!
p5 is my fave gameplaywise, i love p3fes the most in terms of story, but p4 & p5 are tied when it comes to the cast. The franchise just hits all the right buttons everytime
I'll go ahead and rank the Persona games by how much I like them as a whole, and how much I like them for their soundtracks. I'll include Strikers as well, because even though it's technically a spinoff it feels closer to a mainline than any other spinoff does, and this is a P5S video after all. Overall: Persona 5 > Persona 3 > Persona 2: Eternal Punishment > Persona 5 Strikers > Persona 4 > Persona 2: Innocent Sin > Persona 1 Soundtracks: Persona 5 > Persona 5 Strikers > Persona 2: Innocent Sin > Persona 3 > Persona 2: Eternal Punishment > Persona 1 (PS1 ost) > Persona 4 > Persona 1 (PSP ost)
Persona 5 Scramble and Persona 5 Phantom Strikers are the exact same game, one of them is the western release and the other is the Japanese release. They also do have some live performances. Shoji Meguro is the guy who composed most of the Persona music and the music for many other Atlus titles, although they have some different people working on the P5 Scramble OST, a bunch of P5 songs came back or were remixed into metal. Rivers in the Desert, Last Surprise are two that come to mind. If you check those out, maybe check out the original and the P5S remix in the same vid.
The best of the persona music is that each one have a different style, and you can like or dislike some of the song because you dont like the style, but all songs are fantastic. For me the best game is Persona 5 Royal, but I love 4 and 3 at the same level
Persona 5 Strikers(the english title,Scramble is the japanese release name) is a Muso game, so its not turned based like the main series but live action, as a result the music from this game is alot more faster and agressive as well wich suits both the game and me just fine :) I can't wait till u review Daredevil and Axe to Grind, wich are my favorite ones from this game, though they all are great to listen to favorites aside.
Persona 5 and 4 are in a tie for me. The characters in 4 are amazing, the music great, the setting is perfect. Persona 5 is better in every single technical aspect: gameplay, interface, graphics, level design. The character are great but not as good as in persona 4 (they made me ROFL in real life several times).
Oh and fave soundtrack is all the related 5 games, fave game theme wise is 3, fave gameplay wise is 5 (but I actually prefer the absolute brutality of the Shin Megami Tensei branch of the tree for gameplay despite how frustrating it can be)
you should do Persona 5 Royal colors flaying high, the full version of the song got release recently and its a great track. and Persona 3 is may favorite game and soundtrack

If I may, I have a suggestion. For songs like this that have lyrics I feel like sometimes you don't focus enough on what the lyrics are saying(which is fine, it's whats more important), I think that's also very important in apreciating a piece of music. Maybe for songs with lyrics you could give the song a second listen and try to understand the meaning of the lyrics? Idk, could be interesting. Great job, though. I love this song, its probably my favorite from Persona in general
The composer for most persona and smt music is shoji meguro and he and everyone involved with the soundtrack are amazing,he has left atlus(the makers of persona and smt) to pursue his own projects The vocalist for this song and almost all the persona 5 tracks is lyn inaizumi and she brings such a nice energy and top notch vocals to the soundtracks(and her own music) really a breath of fresh air for video games and music in general

There is only one song in the entirety of persona that I would say is meh. The momentos theme. Just a 15 second repetitive loop with maybe the occasional variation. And since it's one of the main grinding areas you go to the entire game, you will hear it a lot But other than that one song the entire rest of all the persona ost is amazing
