In my opinion it’s the perfect one watch collection. 600m water resistance, steel case & bracelet, rugged yet attractive, simple dial, you get a date, can be worn with a suit depending on your size and personality type. If anything if you are wearing a suit put it on a leather strap.
This was a great looking watch. Most brands these days seem to add a lot of shine and sparkle to their watches in a bid to make them feel more like a luxury product, which certainly has its place, but it would also be nice to have something like this model again. If Omega could somehow slim down their current movements just a little, it would be amazing!
For sure, I think soon as they sort out the thickness they’ll be back on track - but IMO they’re already headed in the right direction with the hand wound Speedmaster 57 and Chronoscope to slim down. Would be interesting to see if they bring that to the PO :)
I finally pulled a trigger:)) wearing it everyday for a month now . Very happy with this purchase .
Congratulations 🎉 glad you're enjoying your first month with it, and hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Were you able to find this new?
Honestly I still prefer the caliber 2500 to the new one even if it is supposed to be less exclusive
The 8900 calibres on the new one do have the jumping hour hand which is a nice improvement, but I do wish they didn’t have such a big impact on the thickness 😬
I think its a classic. The new PO is very flashy.
Definitely a classic design, I do like some of the modern POs with the ceramic bezels but the sizing on this one is much better IMO
got this one....but the one on your video seems to be missing the red tip on the seconds hand......was the seconds hand replaced?
this one had it but it was very faded - i just double checked the original footage before i recolored it and there it shows but very faintly. The example from the video was a 2006 model so likely it faded in the nearly years since the original owner bought it
Hard to discuss a watch that is over 10 years old by current standards... maybe back them a thick watch like it was a thing... now, with all the refined alternatives not so much. Great video!
At first glance its hard to compare, but when you consider the prices of these on the pre-owned market compared to the newer versions (which are both thicker and pricier) it does make for an interesting comparison - and thats before you consider it as an alternative to something like a Sea Dweller or Breitling Superocean Heritage.
I just hope the watche is not bad as the movie is...
Having now tried both I’d say you’re safer with the watch ;)
funny, i just put on my orange bezel 2500 PO right before i saw this video
Love the Orange bezel one, was such a bold color to introduce and IMO the aluminum bezel one looks nicer than the orange ceramics Planet Oceans they have now. Enjoy it in good health :)
Any idea where to purchase this watch new?
Very difficult to find this version of the Planet Ocean new since it’s been discontinued for so long - best bet would be to keep an eye out on Chrono24 for new old stock or unworn examples
@@ShahLusso thanks very much for the insight!
