NOTE: I am going to address the three criticisms I've seen on this video.
"STOP SKIPPING!" - I skipped because I'm new to this. I wholeheartedly apologize. Between concerns about getting blocked and cutting pieces of refrain because I didn't want to bog down the one friend I recorded this for (I seriously didn't expect so many NW fans to flock to this!), I screwed up. All future videos that are in danger of copyright issues will instead contain edited-in snippets.
"THIS WAS A TARJA SONG YOU SAID YOU WERE A FAN BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THIS WTF?!" - I was a fan of NW back in the day, but obviously not to the extent a lot of you are. It has also been nearly a decade since I've listened to them. The song simply didn't stick in my head the way it did in yours. Also, I knew nothing about Anette Olzon. Literally nothing. So for all intents and purposes, I suppose I regained my NW virginity and have a lot to learn from this point forward.
"KING KTF VIDEO AT 1:23 SHOWS AS WATCHED YOU'RE A DIRTY LIAR!" - A) I've watched a decent amount of reaction videos myself, and I really enjoy King KTF. B) I am guilty of leaving my UA-cam running while I go about my day, and my girlfriend also watches reaction videos. So either I left it running, or my girl watched it. I have NEVER watched this performance before I recorded this video. Reaction videos make NO MONEY WHATSOEVER. I have no reason to lie or pretend. Additionally, do you think I want to be "the guy who got internet famous for crying?" This reaction is 100% real, and if you don't believe me, that's completely on you.
As for everyone else: thank you so much for your support and the love you've shown me these past two days. I can't wait to record more reactions for you!!!
You dont have to skip or edit things in. All those moments you pause the video and talk, those are genuine and fun, and will do the same job for dodging copyright strikes as skipping the music would. I love those moments when people pause the video to talk about their feelings and reactions. On getting back into nightwish: this is the song that brought me back too. I stumbled across it on youtube and was just blown away by Floor, and it also got me into reaction videos as I've been watching so many other people discovering them through this song. It's amazing.
Ignore the Tarja-whiners. There are still a few of them and they don't deserve your attention. If she was that great, her audience wouldn't have gotten smaller since she got kicked out for forgetting she was part of a team, but her audience have become a lot smaller, because her skills as anything but a singer are unimpressive. It's the same people who can't seem to speak nicely about Anette, who is a good singer, but maybe wasn't exactly the right fit. In my opinion her vulnerability made Nemo a little better. She did a great job nonetheless.
The rest of us know Tarja isn't the center of the universe, and Nightwish is stronger than ever. Tuomas is still creative and they have great chemistry and fun on stage.

Douglesby your reaction to this video is priceless and completely understandable. I'm 68 years old and choke up every time I watch this stunning performance and I watch it regularly. I only hope to see this amazing band live one day.

Agreed. Tarja was (is) awesome, but Floor brings the band to another level. She can do it all, not just the operatics. She brings so much emotion to everything she sings (check out her first band After Forever as well as ReVamp, her solo project after leaving After Forever).

I actually think that Tarja and Floor have found their place, Nightwish is so freaking good with Floor, I just wish Nightwish and Tarja ended up in good terms, so perhaps they could do a collab, maybe one day (?
@@Mu77ley Depends. Floor has made a lot of songs her own, but when it comes to the real classics like Wishmaster or Elvenpath, she cannot compare to Tarja.
Basically, Floor is an amazon and Tarja is a princess. And the princess will always be in my heart.
Floor owns the stage in a way that Tarja didn't. Tarja was an operatic voice. Floor is classically trained and studied opera for a year but she didn't want to sing opera,she likes metal. However, that training made her the best symphonic metal singer EVER! I have never been much of a metal fan but I can't get enough of Nightwish.
Well, it is very interesting how people who still remember Tarja as a great singer in Nightwish hear and see how perfectly Floor Jansen fits in Nightwish,... 🤔 👍 ❤️ It is not even worth arguing. Time flyes ... ☺️

That is one of the best reactions ever to Ghost Love Score. Starting from your position of ' I loved Tarja and I doubt that'll change' to ' I fucking love Floor' . To watch your transition from one to the other is absolutely how I felt hearing Floor perform with Nightwish in those first few gigs years ago. Yes I loved Tarja but Floor brings so much extra to Nightwish. She doesn't have the ultimate opera voice of Tarja but what she does have is a better understanding of what is required for a metal band. Her range is perfect and her attitude fits better for the breadth of material. It means she can give more meaning and emotion to a song depending on what's required. By the way qudos for doing a tripple Floorgasm at the end. That was epic!!!
For many of us Nightwish fans, Floor not only has dethroned Tarja - she has renewed the band and helped them unleash their full potential.
Tarja is a great singer, no one can deny that, but she only had one singing style. Annette, the second singer, wasn't a bad singer at all, but she also had only one singing style. Floor, however, is a vocal beast, as you just witnessed. She was a voice teacher herself, her vocal range is crazy, and not only she can make her voice be smooth and melodic, or rocky/aggressive, or beautifully operatic - she also can switch between all those styles so quickly and effortlessly and make it look like the easiest thing in the world to do. Also, as you also noticed, her stage presence is comparable to a viking queen leading her army towards battle, or to Aragorn leading men to the gates of Mordor. She puts a spell on the crowd, we all shall now do what she commands, feel what she instills.
As a sidenote, this song is from Tarja's era ("Once" album, Tarja's last). I like Tarja's version too simply because everything but the vocals is mostly the same, and it's as epic and majestic. But I like Floor's version even more, because it's more diverse, easier to hear, and she transmits more. When Floor joined the band, she didn't just pick up Tarja's songs and tried to emulate her - she made the songs her own, adapting them to her singing style(s), always trying to be respectful with the originals and with the fans that liked them, but also changing some parts like the very end of this song or the raspy voice verses after the interlude.
All that said, I think next one should be The Poet and the Pendulum (live at Wembley). It's about the hard times Tuomas had after being forced to fire Tarja, or as some say, it was his "musical suicide" that helped him to go on with his life and the band. It's their masterpiece from the Annette era, but again improved by Floor and masterfully performed by the whole band. If you didn't 100% fell in love with Floor yet, you will with that one.

She was the one I was introdcuced in teenage years to nightwish and I still atach a lot of emotion to her as the singer of nightwish.
it's not like Floor is bad - I would even argue on a musical level she is more interesing with her belting voice, but for me music is about emotions, and I'm a creature of habit.
So I always wil lhave higher attachmet to Tarja than floor - regarless of how much I like the new songs.
We Nightwish fans have a new term its called Floorgasm. The new leadsinger is Floor Jansen she is form The Netherlands same as i am. She is great talented, cant wait what she and Nightwish what kind of new Floorgasms they bring us in the future they are all great because its a great band though.
Yes!!!! I thought Nightwish was dead without T. back in the day but Floor is absolutely PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT for Nightwish. I was late to the game as I stopped listening after they got rid of T. and was not into the 2nd singer but GOD they got it right. I think this is what they were going for from the get go.

I had about 5 "just wait for it" moments during your reaction, so glad you did upload it. I cried like a little baby for the first 50 or so times I heard the Floorgasm at the end. It's like there is a part of my soul I didn't know existed that only Floor's voice can touch

Great reaction! Welcome back into the Nightwish fandom! Like yourself years ago I was a big nightwish fan but I was not a fan of Annette and though I enjoyed Dark Passion Play I did not enjoy Imaginarium nearly as much. So I kinda just moved on from listening to and following nightwish. I had no idea Annette was out of the band and Floor had taken her place.
Then about three months ago I see Ghost Love Score on UA-cam with a pic of the gorgeous powerful woman singing and I’m like “that isn’t Annette or Tarja?” So I click it and I proceeded to be blown away by the same live show you just witnessed. I reacted in a very similar fashion.., tears in my eyes, goose bumps, and a sense joy at realizing that this new vocalist just completely reinvented Nightwish for me. Over the next few days I went on a journey of rediscovery. Floor Jansen (Yansen is how you pronounce it) is a metal goddess! Period!!!
You have to order the Storytime DVD/BR.., it has the Wacken 2013 concert in its entirety! It’s a mind blowing performance and Floor’s vocals are exceptional in every song. It should also come with two audio CD’s for like 15$.
If you want to grow your channel then doing Nightwish reactions will help a lot. I have noticed that Nightwish fans are among the most loyal, enthusiastic, and engaged fans you will find. We love to share their music with others and we support others in our Nightwish community. The live versions are generally the most beloved so always try to react to a live version if possible. If you want the most bang for your buck view wise I would do these reactions in this order.

And there are so many more... Anything from the live shows at wacken 2013, wembley 2016, or Tampere 2016 are great though Floor seemed a bit vocally fatigued in the wembley show. It was the last show of a huge tour to support their album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”. The one song from wembley that is a absolute must listen is “The Poet and the Pendulum”. In my opinion this is the greatest song Tuomas has ever written and when performed live with Floor it is as emotionally gripping and inspirational as music gets. The arrangement, the lyrics, the instrumental performance, and Floor’s vocal perfection are mind blowing. We may never see The Poet And The Pendulum played live ever again because of how personal it is to Tuomas... That is also why we will never see “bye bye beautiful” and “master passion greed” live which are both awesome songs...
Don’t get the Blu-ray, the audio is messed up.
You can listen from Wacken 2013 with Floor Jansen, The Poet and the Pendulum, Romanticide, The Greatest Show on Earth... You won't be disapointed. Floorgasm here we come!!!!!

You never know where floorgasm hits you. Most think it Last note on Ghost Love Score but there are a lot of them in songs Floor singing.

@@Douglesby Hi, new subscriber here! Since you are a huge fan of Tarja Turunen, you perhaps may be curious about that term "Floorgasm." It's prob'ly not what you're thinking. A while ago I wrote up this little essay that explains it...
....I can add perhaps a little more insight to the origin of that term "Floorgasm:"
It was coined by a writer for a metal webzine after the 2012 concert in Seattle where Floor first appeared on stage with them to rescue the endangered world tour after the 2nd singer left abruptly. If anyone loved the 1st singer, Tarja, more than Tuomas it was the fans. She was deeply loved by all and viewed as an irreplaceable angel because of the magical chemistry between her and the band that burst forth on stage whenever they appeared. With her suddenly gone, millions of fans were heartbroken as badly as Tuomas.
Annette, her replacement, was (and is) a fantastically talented singer with a beautiful voice... in the studio. But on stage her style just did not blend right with the band and, although the two studio albums with Annette are arguably Nightwish's best two albums, the live performances lacked that magical chemistry and fell flat with the old time Tarja fans. Although they continued to love Nightwish there was always this tension and anxiety and pain at the loss of their beloved Tarja and that missing magical spell her presence in the band cast over audiences.
When it was announced that Floor would be replacing Annette mid-tour, she was a relative unknown to so many Nightwish fans and the replacement was met with hopeful trepidation. Floor herself admitted in an interview much later that she too was "scared shitless" about whether fans would accept her. But when she stepped out on that Seattle stage and opened her mouth, it became instantly clear that the magic was back! Floor brought back the magic! She had that chemistry with the rest of the band that had been missing.
That 2012 audience in Seattle became the bellwether in measuring that tension which had built for the 7 Annette years. It came to a head when Floor performed that beautiful, signature Nightwish epic, Ghost Love Score, with which Tarja was so closely identified, and took it to a whole new level of greatness by adding her own signature ending far beyond anything Tarja ever did. When she hit that incredible refrain at the end which no one in the audience was expecting (and she pulled it off with absolute perfection) the mass response was a spontaneous release of those 7 years of tension as a sudden outpouring of emotion, love, and respect that exceeded even that Tarja had earned. That outpouring was also the moment that Floor realized she had done it.... she had won the audience's acceptance as a fixture in Nightwish. I'm sure she felt the spontaneous release also, as it was pretty clear she had a hard time fighting back tears of happiness. It was one of those watershed moments in music history that happens once in a lifetime. It is quite something to hear and see if you have the chance.
The webzine writer likened that spontaneous mass release of tension to a mass orgasm by coining that term, and apparently the fanbase has agreed with that allegory. I'll bet that Floor doesn't mind the term at all because it is clear that it represents an "orgasm" of professional respect for her extraordinary talent and not anything regarding prurient interests.

I have never seen such a reaction to Nightwish and Floor as I have today. And believe me I think I have seen them all! You brought tears to my eyes just watching you. I know you are a fan of Nightwish, but you have missed out on a lot. So I am going to give you a run down of what has been happening since Tarja left. This should make it easier to navigate this Nightwish Journey. I subbed, because I like to go for rides....... :-)
Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now still is. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen. (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit live (Floor).
I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I discovered them about 4 years ago. I saw them in concert in March in the US. They are unbelievable live. Their music has gotten me through some tough times. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol I know some of this you know, but I thought a refresher course would help. I would like to recommend "Song of Myself" live at Wacken 2013. Thank you for making my day!
i agree and i see them all too .and only a fan can react this way .first time i heard floor singing gls was the video of buenos aires concert and i react the same way and i cry cause nightwish had a new godess and i love nightwish .

I'm just wondering how he had such an apparently unexpected, "Real tears" reaction to this performance which he's "Never seen", when at 1:26 KingKTF's reaction to this very performance is visible with an almost full watched bar.
I'm glad to see that some fans of Tarja can actually accept for and appreciate her talent.
Many don't understand that this won't make Tarja's songs with Nightwish less important. It's simply accepting that Floor has a wide range of styles to offer, which she covers brilliantly live. Tarja was good, I loved her singing back then... When she left, I voted they'd ask floor to join, but she was still with After Forever back then. Maybe also the time was not right, since too many would still have ranted about the departure of Tarja. After 2 albums with Annette and several years in between, with this rather unforseen change during their USA tour, they have grown bigger and more popular quickly. Its amazing how this song from this ver concert is opening so many ears lately 😊 I'm looking forward to the next album, spring 2020... It will be great for sure 😁

Floor made this song hers and made Nightwish her as well with this show. Wacken was her introduction as the Nightwish vocalist to the world as his was the first large concert she performed with the band. This song GLS had been performed by Nightwish for about 10 years up until then and continues to be on the setlist as it had been their signature song. It first appeared on the Once album with Tarja and performed on the The End of an Era DVD. So it surprises me that you had never heard it. The ending was added after Floor stepped in and I believe it was the Buenos Airies show was the first recording of the extended ending. When Tarja sang it just fizzled at the end. I became a fan due to the music and Tarja's vocals so I am not a Tarja hater. I just think that the evolution of Nightwish requires the power and versatility of Floor Jansen. Hell, I even enjoyed Annette (studio recordings), Tuomas is that gifted a songwriter not forgetting Marco and Empuu. In any event thanks for reacting and welcome back. Go back and give a listen to Beauty of the Beast and Deadboys Poem to remind you why you liked Nightwish with Tarja in the first place.

Floor is definetely a versatile amazing singer that lets the band explore a larger variety of styles.

"I'm not sure if she replaces Tarja" - you're right, she doesn't 'replace' Tarja. She blows Tarja clean out of the water with the breadth of her range, her versatility, voice placement, variety in styles, pronunciation, timing, stage presence, crowd control and vocal fries.
Try Romanticide, live, with Floor. That banshee wail at the end always gets me.
Try Poet and the Pendulum, a powerhouse of an emotional rollercoaster.
Try Yours is an Empty Hope, live. Pro tip: that deathgrowl in the chorus? It's not Marko.
I dare you to try The Greatest Show On Earth, live. If you think you're man enough.
@Ťørɱȩṇ Realistically the only measurable thing Tarja has over Floor is that she can hit a slightly higher top-end note. That's it. Stamina? Maybe. Maybe. I'll give them a draw here. The rest is either subjective, or Floor has her beat.
I'm not saying Tarja is a bad singer, she's really a powerhouse as well. I'm not saying you can't like Tarja or prefer her, that's personal preference.
@Ťørɱȩṇ You can measure much of it, though. Floor has sung lower notes than Tarja, Greatest Show on Earth for example. Floor has sung more diverse styles than Tarja - she's sung Opera arias / duets, pop, rock, metal - she even does deathgrowls (Yours In An Empty Hope). Tarja sings - ... Operatic. Maybe she's broadened her style a bit since going solo, but still. Pronunciation is clearer with Floor, you can barely hear English isn't her native language - Not so with Tarja. Timing - compare Floor's Ghost Love Score to Tarja's - Tarja is consistently a quarter to half second late with her lines. Style choice? Maybe. Doesn't change the fact that it happens, though. As for charisma on stage and crowd control, again compare Tarja's Ghost Love Score (where most of the time she just stands there looking gormless, gesturing with her arms a bit and swaying her hips) to Floor, who commands the crowd. Granted, Tarja's become a lot better at crowd interaction and stage presence lately, but she still isn't where Floor is there. Tarja's delivery too, is stale. Always that same vibrato. No experimentation with head / chest voice, vocal fry, etc.
There are songs I prefer with Tarja, too. Tenth Man Down, for example, just doesn't work for me in Floor's style.
Show me Tarja singing pop, rock and metal style. Show me Tarja hitting those low notes. Show me Tarja doing death growls.

Wacken 2013 is worth going through song by song. A flawless recording of a flawless performance and one of the best paths ever to hopeless Floor worship. They start with Dark Chest of Wonders and the heart palpitations just keep going from there.
Multiple floorgasms here, welcome back to the best. Nightwish ever offered. Try romanticide from the same concert for a heavier song

My first time seeing this video was also my first time hearing Floor Jansen. I experienced chills, goosebumps, and was just in awe of such a beautiful, powerful voice with such a dynamic range. She can alter her range seamlessly. And yes I was moved to tears also.
OH and trivia. She wasn't officially a part of the band at the time this performance was recorded. She was filling in, of course she was permanently added to the band shortly after :P
I have listened to Nightwish for close to twenty years. I started listening between the albums "Wishmaster" and "Century Child".
When Tarja was fired in 2005, I felt like something broke.
Then in 2007 they hired Anette Olzon.
But we never go to Ravenholm!
In 2012 they fired Anette mid tour. In the US. Nightwish had no backup vocalist to take over.
So they contacted Floor Jansen and asked if she could could take over, starting at their next concert. In two days.

This is by far the best reaction video to Nightwish I have seen, and I've watched hundreds! You are exactly like me, I also stopped listening to them when Tarja left. My reaction when I saw this was the same. Watch any performance from Wacken 2013 and you won't be disappointed.
That is the 3rd singer Floor Jansen (from Netherlands), she was only in the band for 10 months for this show. Took over for Annette mid-tour on 2 days notice. She was previously in After Forever and Revamp before that.

Floor took me back to Nightwish last november. I was drinking beer in my house and thinked that hey, I used to love Nightwish and song Ever dream and I wondered how that song sounds with that "new" singer. I was really scared to push play button... But I did and man... Something happened in my heart. It was beating again with Nightwish. Then I watched this performance... !!!!!!!!!!!!!! No words... I am so grateful that I am BACK, THANK YOU FLOOR! She is goddess, pure magic!
Some informations for you if you have some missing pockests of NW history after Tarja lleft.
Their singer after Tarja become Anette Olzon. She was quite good in studio albums. Very different style, but very good at those. Live sadly was different story and get worst by time.
Floor Jansen at that time had her own great band called After Forever. Marco already wanted her, but Tuomas decidet he don't want to break another great band for NW. So they went with Anette.
In meantime AF broke up and Floor founded new band ReVamp. But stress and sadnes from loosing AF get her into psychic problems. She got burnout ad stop he music career for over a year.
NW in that time was on the tour, personal problems between Anette and the ret of the band became probably wosrst then with Tarja years before and they kicked her in the middle of the tour.
And they called Floor to help them just to finnish the tour. She wasn't fully healed in that time, but she said yes. Had less than 2 days for preparation before her first concert. It was OK concidering what has happening. But after a few gigs she started to shine. A lot and more and more.
This song is from the same tour 9 months after she joined as guest. She in secrecy was confirmed between her and rest of the band as official member. All song she sang there was written specifically to other two singers with completely different styles ad she oversang them both.
The band is in better shape then ever. You can see the happy faces in all they live performances. That is something that was missing before that.
She have just one studio album with them so far (another one they working on right now), but several live DVD's.
You may hear her in many other things: After Forever. ReVamp, Ayreon, her new project Northward,.... And a lot more.
Next please: The Poet nd the Pendulum - live at Wembley. Anette era song, but masterfully done by Floor.
With respect, Anette actually became very ill mid tour, which left her hospitalized. They almost had to cancel the Denver show, due to her hospitalization. They asked Floor to sub for her until the end of the tour, to give Anette time to get over her illness. However, after several performances, they realized that Floor was a better fit for the band, and asked her to join them permanently. My source is the official documentary.
IMO most Happy faces on stage IS when they play Stargazers at Tampere. It's like main home gig of tour in Finland, 25 000 fans in and they CAN play Song that has been of setlist over 10 years. I can't imagine how good had to feel there on stage at that moment. But I can see that it felt GOOD.
@@GothicElf68 So you've misinterpreted it. Yes, Anette was sick, but morale in band was bad already. She also was pregnant and Floor suposed to be stand in just for end of the tour in 2013. It was actually Anette's idea to have guest singer for few shows, but she changed her mind when they asked Floor.
Ther was fight after Denver between her and rest of the band after Elize and Alysa had to sing that show and they didn'nt canceled it and she left (or was kicked out) after and because of that.
So Floor had to come 3 months earlier then planned. But just to finnish the tour and band wanted to start new official singer after that. But yes, Floor was so good they aked her in the begining of festival season in 2013.
I've watched them closely at that time, not just simplified documentary, but day to day thinghs happened in the band.
Nightwish dropped off my radar years ago. Then I heard a cover of Ghost Love Score. So I had to look them up, and heard Floor sing it. I still get Floorgasmed every time I hear her. Nightwish is back on the playlist. The truly insane thing about Floor, she replaced the second singer, Anette Olzon mid tour, when Anette became too ill to continue. Floor jumped in with 48 hours to learn 15 songs and continue this tour. As if that wasn’t crazy enough, she preforms with the group like she always was a core member.
FYI she does this every time, every concert, always. Where did she come from...from Holland, she had a band she toured with Nightwish in 2003, she was Nightwish opening band during their European tour, so she was known to the guys. During the USA tour when Anette couldn't sing, Tuomas said it is Floor or nobody to be the next singer. So welcome back to Nightwish. Many has said The Poet And The Pendulum, that song with Floor from Wembley, The Greatest Show On Earth from Tampere. Floor has taken Nightwish songs to a new level, even Tarjas. I enjoyed this very much, thanks.

We’ve all been there my friend! I remember my first watch to this! Silent endless crying sitting in front of my big tv, asking myself how was it possible that I would love Nightwish even more than with Tarja! Welcome! This is a song written for Tarja, I loved it tremendously when the album came out, when Annette sung it, was so disappointing but then comes Floor and Nightwish is back into my life full force! You are going to be so happy with all you’ll listen from now on!

Your reaction was priceless and exactly how I reacted when I heard Floor sing this song.... this song has been my favourite song in the whole world ever since I first heard Tarja sing the studio version and then BAMB Floor comes in and makes it even more epic!! Hearing this live was so intense and insane... it took all of me not to burst into tears.
Floor IS better then Tarja for what Nightwish is now as a band, she has the much needed versatility that all these songs needed and she doesn't just copy the previous two singers, she makes the songs her own.

My exwife was not typically easily crying. We did see after forever live, of course with Floor, and she was crying on two songs. For simply has the ability to transfer emotion with her singing, which must singers simply usually sing du, or can't.
She's a badass? Man you haven't even seen her headbang yet. Her windmill is KILLER. Also one of my favorite performances is Yours is an Empty Hope live from the Nightwish Cruise. And it's written for her, not an old Tarja song.

Nice reaction, congratulations on your first Floorgasm! You interrupted the first, but utterly redeemed with the repeat view.! A couple of things, this is a Tarja era song, from Once (2004). Though I feel it is safe to say it WAS a Tarja song, Floor owns it now, she just brings something new to the Nightwish mix. Floor is Nightwish' 3rd singer, the second (Annette Olzen) was less popular because of her vocal ability, although Nightwish' most popular albums were under Annette. Floor is a whole new thing. Tarja has a beautiful voice, but the majority of her vocals are in the high operatic range. Floor can also sing in that range, she can also add metal, rock, folk, grits and growls, she can belt and she can switch between those singing abilities and styles effortlessly. This is why she is perfect for Nightwish. The band evolved but alas when Tarja left, her singing wasn't yet ready to evolve with the band (it has in the subsequent years). Floor can do vocally whatever Tumoas needs from her.
You want to be blown away by what Nightwish have evolved into, Watch the Greatest Show on Earth live at Tampere (don't skip any of it, let it play and react to how you feel)
One side not, with Nightwish you are pretty safe reacting to their videos, you don't need to skip sections of the music to try and avoid copyright. I've been typing while listening... seriously, don't skip the song. The ONLY Nightwish song that may give you issues is The Poet and The Pendulum ( a masterpiece) If you can avoid skipping bits, you will gain a lot of Nightwish faithful to your channel, we love a good reaction, but you gotta do it right. I thought this song sounded familiar. It must be that she just added such a different sound to it that I couldn't recognize it. Going to go back and listen to the original studio version now so I can better appreciate the two by their own merits.
Nightwish has been and will always be one of the most incredible bands, in my mind. Such an epic sound that I do not think has ever been truly matched. It means a lot to me that you have decided to subscribe to my channel, and I will definitely not cut through any of the video next time. I was doing it mostly in the interest of time, I didn't want to bog anyone down with some of the refrains, but you are right: the song (or songs, rather) are meant to be enjoyed in their full untarnished glory.

For the best new Nightwish, the Greatest Show on Earth - Live at Tampere. This is Tuomas' magnum opus, being their longest piece that they've done, and truly the most epic. It is a artistic telling of the entire history of planet Earth, from the formation of the planet to the final death of humanity.
The Greatest Show on Earth is so f*cking epic and heartwrenchingly emotional... I cried my eyes out first (and only) time I heard it, or better said: experienced it... It made me an emotional wreck! In a good way, but... overwhelming! I'm still gathering courage to go and undergo it again... as I know I will. But in the meantime the last weaks I'm watching every reaction to Ghost Love Score that I can find, because I'm totally and happily addicted to it

Haven't you known that this song is from the last album with Tarja? ;) The last note as we know it as "Floorgasm" isn't in the original version so it was a real surprise to hear it for the first time. I knew Floor before she joined Nightwish and I knew that she is one of the best in the business. But the versions she made with Nightwish - literately floored me. She is far the best metal female singer ever. So versatile and she can do what ever she wants and she can make it sound easy. I never stop wondering how good she really is. Nightwish itself is living their best time. Their live performance is so goodmooded and energetic. They really enjoy playing together. Their albums after Tarja belong to their best ones. Anette also had her moments but Floor replacing her made me almost make a happy pee when read the statement :D

5:00 I listened,didnt even get triggered,i answered in my head (pretending to watch my clock) "Give the goddess a few more minutes,buddy!" 9:15 Im acting all cold,answering in my head like "You have seen nothing yet,brutha!" 10:40 *nods energeticly* and imaginary answers "You damn right,she is!" 11:47 Serious talk,absolutely 100%! I used to be a hardcore "Tarja is the one and only" type of guy,and Tarja was schooled and perfected in opera/operatic vocals,and she sure was the pioneer for female metal singers out there. Noone had done what Nightwish had done,with thoose kind of vocals. But it took me a Anette tryout,and Floor coming in,to realize Tarjas "flaws". She didnt have the crowds interaction like Floor does,she didnt have the stage movement and persona. And now here comes the crucial part,Floor can sing pop,rock,operatic,growly and metal,all in one Nightwish song. And she knows where to drop or up her voice/pitch. The guys also knows where to give her that tiny bit of breather she needs,to rest her voice abit. And she knows how to change between the different vocals,without messing up her chords etc. Tarja was the best thing that had happened to Nightwish,Anette came in,and i thought she had a wonderful pop sounding voice,but i felt like her vocals got deafened by the band,so i stopped listening to them. (Feel awful for being that type of supporter but...) Floor came in,and showed us she was the embodiment of Nightwish. There is truly no better possible vocalist for Nightwish. Welcome back to the world of Nightwish. I too left the bandwagon after they fired Tarja and then hired Annette Olzon. It wasn't the "hiring" of Annette that lost me, it was the Amaranth music video that I just felt didn't sound or feel anything at all like the Nightwish I had come to know and love with Tarja. I also checked out a couple of others with Annette and still had the same feeling of missing the old epic sound I was used to from Nightwish. Floor steps in and completely OWNS every song she does. It doesn't matter if it's an older Tarja song, which this one is, or an Annette era song, Floor owns it and makes it her own. You'll get tons of requests to react to the songs from this Waken 2013 music festival because it truly was a magical night. Floor had only been with the band a few months and wasn't even a permanent member of the band yet, but she totally captivated the ears and hearts of the audience and I think that was probably the night Nightwish and Floor knew they were going to be a permanent family. I suggest you listen to the recommendations and take your time going through the long long list of Nightwish songs Floor has now performed from both of the older singers. Then you should be ready to move on to the newest album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" that Tuomas wrote with Floor's vocal skills in mind. Those songs off that album Shudder Before The Beautiful, Yours Is An Empty Hope (most people request the official live version of this song from the Nightwish cruise aboard the Baltic Princess), My Walden, Elan, Weak Fantasy, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Alpenglow and the epic masterpiece The Greatest Show On Earth can be found with great audio quality from the Tampere 2015 and Wembly 2016 shows. They're both very good shows with good audio, but I'll suggest once you're ready for Weak Fantasy and The Greatest Show On Earth, to watch the Tampere 2015 performances because there are some surprises in those two songs at Tampere you won't get to see in the Wembly performances. Tarja was incredibly gifted at what she did and still does in her solo career. What makes Floor so special is her ability to flip vocal styles in a breath and highlight the emotions or mood of the song. Also, her stage presence is 2nd to none.

Loved your reaction man ! Very pure and I think a lot of us had likewise experience when we first heard Floor singing. In another video you mentioned Anneke van Giersbergen - What a pleasant surprise - also a bad ass singer from Holland. I am Dutch myself - and a very proud one - and I was wondering if you ever heard of Delain. A Dutch band which plays the same kind of music NW does. Also played with them in the past. Maybe comment to them once ? If so do Nothing Left. Live in Utrecht - I was there 😍 - with guest appearance of Marco the bassplayer of NW on vocals.
One of the best reactions I have seen and man that was from Tarja die heart!!! The entire concert at Wacken 2013 is fantastic and you can see Floor's great range and her stage presence. She has the crowd in her hands, she could lead the crowd off a cliff and they would follow. To compare Tarja and Floor who are friends and have done duets together is something the fans always bring up. The difference is simply that Floor has a greater range than Tarja, Floor can sing anything even growl if you want. Floor has even a greater stage presence and now with the addition of Troy with folk metal instrumentation means her range will be really tested in future Nightwish compositions. Hey Tarja is still great for you old school fans it is just now that Nightwish has evolved and Floor is a better fit for the new Nightwish and Floor's range gives the band greater ability to explore other music in the future. A really great review and Tarja is still great, it is just now you have another fantastic version of many of the old songs to listen to. Floor has done a lot of duets and collaborations with other bands that you can find on YT, everyone love this non-ego person. BTW she replaced Annette (the singer who replaced Tarja) in the middle of the 2012 tour on 48 hours notice! Nightwish has never looked back and she is the perfect fit to the point Tuomas has indicated if she leaves then Nightwish is done. If this one got you invest in some tissues because you are in for a real great ride ahead!!

Well directed video, coreography splendidly acted (not like an just another live show), great lightshow, she has an emotional voice, and this song uses Floor really, really well.
You will hear other great new Nightwish songs, but none of them uses Floor as good as this song. This is the ultimate tear burster.

I genuinely laughed out loud when you left middle of the last note :D I feel you. I have always been old Nightwish fan too, and stopped listening when Tarja left. Now I have a huge crush on Floor. Her precense is real, and voice and control of it are perfect. The band itself has always been hardcore. This performance is the true result of dedication, hard work and talent combined. Shout out from Finland!

There are so many aspects wherein a vocalist can excel; most do excel in one aspect, Floor Jansen excels in all of them. I didn't check yet, but is this channel new?
