Congratulations! You have proved incontrovertibly that you can flatstart gear just like mine: a Hipe Cruzader with a Sirus foil and a cheap paddle. I have no more excuses 😂. I am still further back in the learning journey, at around 30 seconds pumping dock starting my Sirus XXL. Hope I can slowly progress to a steady 1 minute pumping, then I can consider seriously trying the flat water start. Keep up the good work content wise, look forward to part 2!

Your timing is perfect for this as I turn my focus from dockstarting to flatwater SUP on an inflatable Cruz and Sirus 156.

Congratulations, u pump like a beast! i like ur test and just want to say, not compliaining just say, ur wheight is not the same as 10kg more! Ur pumping technic is on point that's it. others can pump 1800m3 in to air without a paddle... i'm sure u could do so, maybe not with the hipeCruz but a hard board. i try so many times Hipecruz 7'6 and sirus xl but got it just after 10sessions! could use a hard board and i was everytime up... im 75kg and ok fit, did alot of SUP earlyer... it's more the pumping technic... not complaning just saying...

If I understand you well, you have a lot of experience and you are saying that the rider weight is not that important but the pumping technique is? If so this is good news for everybody because losing 10-20kg is often not possible, training is ☺️
And yes, I have to work on my technique, I’m still a beginner, did just 4 sessions so far sup foiling, little experience in sup.
I will keep training with my inflatable see if I can take off without paddling, tried once did not work 😜

    Merci a toi 🤙🏻

@@melvannjoud4528 Salut !

Thank you for posting this great video. Amazing to see the rapid progress! Did you locate the mast on your board, as far forward as possible? Or did you slightly change the mast placement with every new foil setup?

      @@kaikaiser1497 Thanks!
I put the mast almost in the middle position, a bit more forward. That was the best feeling I had with my beginner skills. Too much forward it is easier to take off but the speed was too low to keep flying. I used the same position for all the different Frontwings.

@@Ludo_freefoiler Ah, thanks, understood. similar to my mast placement (somewhere in the front third, still figuring out the exact sweet spot)

Amazing achievement! Congratulation. In your opinion, if you used a solid board instead of an inflatable board...how much easier would ot be?

Honestly I haven’t tried a rigid board for this yet. But a rigid board is… well more rigid 😅 stiff and the friction with the water is less. So I imagine it a lot easier. But with an inflatable it is working fine as well. If you prefer an inflatable (cheaper, easier to transport, less fragile…) go for a long enough one to make it easier. The longer the easier to take off.

Nice work! I'm 93kg, have the 3xl sirus (and 6xl curve-h) the 7'11" hipe cruzader and also a cheap plastic paddle. I've been slowly trying to paddle up but I feel like I'm going to break the paddle... I'm also wondering if I should be trying the 6xl curve H or the 3xl sirus. I can dock start and pump either to 60s but I can get further on the "faster" sirus. I think the curve has a lower stall speed though so probably easier to get up onto foil?

      @@benjaminbjacobsen Thanks!
I never used the curve 6xl but I think it might be easier than the Sirus 3xl. The size of your Cruzader is the right one to get started 👍
Regarding the paddle, I think a carbon stiff one makes the learning process easier. You will not have the feeling of breaking it. With a plastic one it should work though. You have to learn how to use your legs to get started. Jumping correctly on the board makes it move forward without using the paddle. The legs are more important than the paddle. I am making another video to explain it. I will release it next Monday 👍
