Very cool! Looks like a great board and stoked to see you promoting sup surf foiling, one other big advantage for a board like this is being able to catch bigger waves and long waves with long rides and long paddles, some spots just aren’t feasible on the prone

Great video! The boards looks great. Complete understood your advise for beginners whici is my case. One question: if you want learn DW using Foild Drive as assist would the 7'4 be good in your opinion or should stick to long ones? Thanks
Hey Daniel - I don't think you need a board that big to learn to FD DW on personally. But lots of people do - it's just not the way I'd tell people to do it. I'd be more inclined to learn on like a 5'4 Kruzer and learn to prone DW then get a full size SUP once you've started reading the bumps well on the FD and coming in without having to use the motor much.

Hey dave im 6'0 82kg 26yrs very fit and been surfing for 10+ years. Im keen to really give sup foiling a crack and want to sup surf and then get into DW once iv gotten used to it.
Would you recommend the 7'8 or the 8'6?
Im used to riding a Sup on open ocean but not for Downwinding. Love the videos!
I’ve heard people (Downwinddrifter) say that you don’t need an over 8ft board if you are not planning to DW and/ or learn to DW in the ocean. Any thoughts on how bay/lake DW learners should adjust their board size if at all?
@@petercookfoils there is definitely some truth to that. I’ve spoken about that lots before. Places like hood river definitely don’t need that length. It does however make learning harder still. Even if I was living in a lake area I’d still go the 8 ft - 8”4 if you’re over 85kg.
What would you choose between Cypher 7'4 and Cypher DW 8,6 for start paddling (already winging and some surfoiling) , but not (at the beginning at least) for downwinding, for some little waves? I mean, I understand the Sup version is more agile and reactive, but the DW version easier to paddle/get on foil and (maybe) more stable because length?

You said the rocker is fairly flat. So what degree of foil rake is your mast track box installed at?

@@antcramp little fact check: Kruzer video was 4 months ago. Bullet was 9 months ago. Sultan wing was 11 months ago. Sultan was a year and a half ago.
