    You just did what we call " boodle fight". Mostly done by our military. A ceremony where you "fight for your food".

    That is what we called "boodle fight" ( kamayan eating) popularized by Filipino soldiers when they eat and share the food together...

    We call this "boodle fight" in the Philippines. The name of the establishment "Tinuno" means "grilled" in Ilocano, which is one of the many Philippine dialects.

    In school, we call this Boodle Fight and we do this every year. It is fun, but having the entire class gather around on only two long tables it can be inconvenient. But I still managed to get as many as I want since my classmates aren't as heavy at eating as I am lel XD

    Finished to the last grain of rice!👍KAMAYAN that is the authentic Filipino way of eating in the far away farms rural areas, which in old times had no access to grocery to buy fork n spoon plus they are so poor no money for extra things, simple folk life. I do not know why they did not think of chopsticks like the Chinese since there a lot of bamboo everywhere.!

    Napaka common neto sa Pilipinas. Actually in the Philippines we call it "Boodle Fight/Budol-Budol (in other provinces)" and the way of eating without utensils is Kinamay/Mag-Kamay(Tagalog)/Kinamot(Cebuano/Visayan), etc. and it is a common practice. I never heard locals in the Philippines call "Boodle Fight", Kamayan, because it's grammatically incorrect to use this in this tradition and in Tagalog language it basically means "Shake Hands", I think this term to is only used by Fil-Ams in United States.

    Looks good! Three comments though 1. It's prounouced Ka-ma-yan not ka-mayan 2. It comes from Kamay meaning "hand"...which leads me to my third 3. for truly authentic you would use bare clean hands. But I guess the gloves are extra hygiene

      it's "nakakagutom" actually, he just made it shortcut. it means makes me hungry. most filipinos make words shorter by excluding some vowels, commonly done in social media and text messages.

  • @eonronhaydon
    @eonronhaydon 5 років тому

    It's unfortunate that they used plastic gloves to eat. They should have eaten with their bare hands, after washing of course. It makes the experience more aunthentic. Besides, eating with your hands is another way of feeling and enjoying the texture of your food. Nice video anyway. 👍
