How much a brand charges depends on many factors, and with Skinceuticals I am pretty sure you pay for the research they are doing - not for that product in particular, but for all the products they are working on. And for the brand name, story etc. Maybe the Skinceuticals formula is better as well - I can't tell, I never tried their version. Just because something has similar ingredients doesn't mean it works the same.
Thanks Dr Ann! 😊 Mines on route. Gave in to the hype! But I préfèr the GG reviews. Their free shipping minimum purchase has kept me from trying but I’m filling my GG basket bit by bit 💘!!

Hello Dr 👋🏼 new subscriber so I'm just watching this video in 2024 😊 I'm late getting on the vitamin C but i wanted to ask which should i start with, the 10 or 20% I'm 62 and been using tretinoin 0.1% every night for around 20 years now. I use biossance copper peptides and Purito dermide relief barrier or La roche toleraine Moisturizer during the day. Oh and sunscreen of course. I tried a vitamin c serum many years ago, maybe 10 years or more ago, and it irritated me, just basically itching. I do have melasma. Thank you!
I would always suggest using the lower concentration, especially if you have reacted in the past. If you don't get along with Ascorbic Acid, there are a lot of derivatives around now that you could try instead.
@@DoctorAnne Thank you for the response Dr. I'm pretty sure it was some type of old fashioned vitamin c, it had an orange tint which I didn't know then was more than likely the result of oxidation. I can't, if you suffer from rosacea, you should discuss that with your treating doctor. You might have luck with a lower concentration, around 5%, but it really depends on your skin.

I love the Paula’s Choice CEF serum/booster but this is less expensive per oz so maybe I need to try this 🤔
The one from Paulas Choice is on my list of things to try as well.
@@DoctorAnne Now that Paula’s choice is being bought by Unilever I wonder if access or formulas will change!
@@MAK0948 Only time will tell I guess.
@@MAK0948 noooooo! I didn't know that. That makes me very sad
If this and the G&G are so similar, where does Skinceuticals get off charging $166?!
@@DoctorAnne oh fine, I'll turn off my rage
@@commonwealpanther 😂
Thanks Dr Ann! 😊 Mines on route. Gave in to the hype! But I préfèr the GG reviews. Their free shipping minimum purchase has kept me from trying but I’m filling my GG basket bit by bit 💘!!
Many people report they had problems with the bottles leaking, I hope you are as lucky as I was and yours is fine too!
I tried the Timeless Vitamin C, but each order I had gotten, between the pump and the plastic can, it leaked and I had received 3 different orders because it was replaced 2 times because of leaking. So, I didn’t get to see much change because I was afraid to reorder because of the problems with leaking. I love your videos and you are very informative! Great job! 😊
Quite a few people in the comments report leaking bottles - I wasn't aware this was a problem as mine worked perfectly fine even when I was travelling. I am sorry to hear that.
mine also have leaking issue
@@BlueSky-no1jv If you write them an email and let them know. They will replace it with a new one, if you had just gotten it. I had no luck and all 3 cans that were replaced leaked. So, I didn’t order anymore.

I have been useing an Australian vitamin c serum 20% by ultraderm more on expensive side by superb vitamin c serum with vitamin e and Australian botanicals 😉👌
Australian skincare is so hard to get over here!
Hi could you pls review cosmelan for melasma please e
That would be difficult as it is in arts an in office treatment in the US - I don't see how I could get to try it, and I won't be able to give you a full review without trying the products/ procedures.
Tretinoin has been wonderful addressing wrinkles but I would love to not have as much texture(orange peel). The melasma I can cover. Thank you again I will look into other serums
@@DominaP I understand.
Can pregnant lady use this vitamin c timeless serum i mean is this pregnancy safe?
Yes, it is. I have a video on pregnancy safe skincare here: ua-cam.com/video/hkO1QIj1DpA/v-deo.html
Ma’am,
Can you please suggest a vitamin c serum for rosacea prone skin? I bought the glossier vitamin c but it didn’t really suit me.
I can't, if you suffer from rosacea, you should discuss that with your treating doctor. You might have luck with a lower concentration, around 5%, but it really depends on your skin.
@@DoctorAnne thank you so much ma’am for responding to my question. I love your videos and you are one of my most favorite dermatologist here♥️♥️
@@Yourskincarebestiee I am not a dermatologist, I am an ICU specialist turned Public Health Doctor. But thank you!

Could you talk about Xhekpon cream?
Thanks!!
I don‘t think it is easily available where I live, but looking at it online it looks like a basic cream with Aloe and Centella Asiatica and a lot of fragrance.
Hi, I am using timeless vitamin C serum, but my smell like orange and have a pale yellow color, this is normal? Or is oxidized?
The pale yellow color is normal, if it turns darker, it is an indicator that it is oxidized. The scent should not point to oxidization.
Check the manufacturer's date on the box. Product must be used within 6 months. Also, it must be refrigerated. Pale yellow color is good.
Mine arrived oxidized. I’m pissed. I won’t be buying from Timeless again.
Did you buy from them directly or through a seller? I have seen many shops having issues with shipping due to the ongoing Covid problems.
After trying Timeless for the first time and liking it, I repurchased a bigger bottle. However, the bottle was defective and leaked everywhere. Then within a couple of weeks of using the serum my skin started to peel because I was not aware the serum was already oxidized. Though they sent me a replacement bottle, the new bottle came with a manufacture date from 2 months ago and bottle had a dark brown ring around the seam. Sure enough, the serum was already oxidized before I even opened it. Given I got 2 lemons in a row I cannot confidently repurchase from them again.
I totally get that, and you are not the only one reporting such experiences. I am really sorry.
had that brown color serum when i bought from amazon. returned it
I live in UK, bought that serum last month. I Don't really got strait opinion about this serum yet..but this plastic bottle it's rubbish.. its leaking and its very messy :(
Mine didn't leak at all, even when I took it with me on holiday. Maybe I was just lucky?
@@DoctorAnne it must be my luck than 😪 I hope my next purchase will be OK 😊
