I hope Jeremy McKinnon works on every single TGI record from here on out, because damn. The song structure, lyrics, mixing and overall production is perfect. Last album was so on point, and I feel like this one will be, too. Jeremy and TGI work so well together. TGI's records before were great, don't get me wrong. But I think TGI has just taken their sound to a whole new level the last 2 years. Overall, this song fuckin' rules. I can't wait for this record.
Jeremy produced their last album, Andrew wade produced this one, Jeremy helped. But agreed, between Andrew (the drummer) joining the band and the new producing, the last album was amazing and I can see this one will be too
badbrad017 Yeah, I know. Just saying he needs to help more often. Glad you agree, though! I really like Andrew Wade's work, too. He's worked with a lot of bands that I love.
The Ghost Inside has the fire that most bands lose soon after a hardship and some success. They are an icon and light at the end of the tunnel for so many musicians.
Comments are the BEST part of UA-cam... Some thoughts after reading the comments: Things I do not agree with: 1. BMTH chord progression. Y'all acting like it's unlawful to have ANY similar chord structures in songs. Here's the truth: EVERY single chord progression has been done before. Take that ANOTHER step further once you get into similar genres. Three chord similarities don't equate to "stealing" or "copying" an entire song. Things I agree with: 1. Too early to judge / predict an entire album off one song. 2. Sounds like TGI won't disappoint on this album. 3. Mix is awful. 0:34 sounds like some damn right clipping. All in all, SUPER stoked for this album. I feel these dudes will crush it. GWYG was literally in my top 5 albums of all time. Can't tell you how many pinnacle moments I've gone through in the past two years of life with that album as a soundtrack. Anyway, sorry for the novel. Coolstorybro. I'm curious though, What are YOUR thoughts on this song? -Clark
I can't stop screaming these words over again Until breath escapes and my chest caves in It doesn't matter where I've been. Can't give in, and shut down Just breathe in and breathe out and begin I shook the hand of doubt so I could sever the lines that he spits from his mouth And now it's time to pull through. Something I must do with or without you I've been here one time, two times, now three times before Long enough not to wait around for that knock upon my door I'm staring at the face of doubt so I can't forget who I'm cutting out Why put in my all just to watch my buildings fall? Hey, hey, I'm living for today Forgetting things I can't change unwinds me Hey, hey, nothing stands in my way Time stopped when I broke the chains that bound me It all comes down to this. I saw these guys live last year, and instantly liked them, buying their GWYG album immediately due to how solid they were. This sounds like they've done nothing but improve, and I look forward to this album's release.
I'm going to see Asking Alexandria on the 29th and these guys are one of the supporting acts, so I thought I'd look em up. Not disappointed in the slightest, they seem like they're going to be awesome live.
I've seen them the 7th, Found TGI the best of all supports, (Honestly, CTE was dissappointing) TGI will play some songs of these albums. But who knows which one. Have fun next week buddy ^-^
I saw them last summer opening for A Day To Remember. They were amazing live! Half the crowd didn't even know who they were and by the end of the concert the crowd was insane. Check out their first album if you haven't, it's the best in my opinion.
I came here and left the replay button black and blue. These guys are still just as awesome since the first time I heard them years ago. Fuck yeah, today is a great day!!
Saw them last night for the 4th time. This band gets better and better EVER time I see them. New album is great, don't really care about others opinions.
The intro does sound like the intro to FTFD's Endless, but its because Andrew (ex-ftfd, drummer for TGI) helped write Heavy Hearts and also helped write the material for The Ghost Inside.
No, it just means you've been watching videos that are closely related to 5 Seconds of Summer. Not saying you watch them specifically. I can watch a National Geographic about the Yellowfin Tuna and I will get a related video about the PS4.
I honestly can't care less what anyone says. Idc if this sounds aweful to you, this is good. I love how their doing the vocals the entire time cuz it really coveys the message for me cuz like if you ever been so emotional you want to scream and yell this is why this sounds good to me cuz it's got a heavy beat, and screaming and yelling vocals and it makes you feel
Was going to try listening to this song for the first time. Click the thumbnail. A few seconds pass and I find myself thinking, "Did I accidentally click the wrong song?" LOL. Nope! It's just literally the same riff played at roughly the same tempo as Suicide Season's intro. This song is still solid despite the fact that the beginning was practically copypasta. They wouldn't be the first and they won't be the last to steal riffs in their entirety. Many big name bands and artists do it quite frequently. A lot of it is subconscious anyway. The guitarist was most likely playing a riff and loved how it sounded without quite realising that he had heard it before. Happens to me all the time.
If I'm not mistaken I think it's actually Vigil, he did cleans on "Dark Horse" and "Engine 45" on GWYG so it wouldn't surprise me if he's done some on this record.
Ross D Jeremy actually backtracked his cleans on both "Dark Horse" and "Engine 45" in the last album. Since he helped produce GWYG and Dear Youth, it wouldn't be all that uncommon of him to layer in his own vocals.
these guys are such a fucking inspiration. I remember seeing them at Warped in 2014 and holy fuck their stage presence is something special. They put so much heart into everything they do and the fact that they all still want to make music and tour after that tragic accident is fucking awesome! Can't wait to see these guys back on stage at Warped Tour in 2017.
They were supposed to be on Warped 2016, then 2017 but obviously they haven't committed to any yet. Warped is reserving a headliner spot for them when they are ready.
the very last time he says "Now we're caught in the avalanche" I swear to God I can hear Jeremy Mckinnon. Im pretty sure I hear him in the backround of Engine 35 as well
ChaosinFull recycling chord progressions isn't really anything new. this is musically the same song as alot of older TGI songs that came out long before BMTH decided they wanted to jump on the melodic hardcore bandwagon.
Hm...I believe both TGI and BMTH were both formed near the same time..on two different continents, I understand that BMTH weren't melodic hardcore..but they were amongst the frontrunners that made the scene what it was and is. Recycling chord progressions may not be anything new, but I don't understand why they'd mesh two original works by BMTH into one song..seems like a lame attempt. I actually can't think of any good bands that have recycled chord progressions unless you branch into mainstream music (Papa Roach- Last Resort used the same chords as Genghis Khan by Iron Maiden)..its just apparent that a majority of people who listened to the song scratched their heads wondering why there are two different BMTH songs in this one song..Im further scratching my head wondering why Epitaph would allow the song to be released when Epitaph was BMTHs label for suicide season and TIAHBMIS and should be aware that this one song walks a fine line of infringement.
Intro sounds more like "endless" from for the fallen dreams than "suicide season". This is an amazing song, does it matter if it sound similar to some old 'deathcore' song? Like chill out guys. If you feel it's such a rip off, then don't listen to it, simple as that.
when they come out with a new album it's going to be amazing. with their recent experiences there is going to be alot of emotion and alot to write about.
***** I'm the exact opposite, I think their older albums all sound very muddy and too distorted. But in this mix the guitars are more crisp, no issues with the drums for me. I guess it's all to do with preference.
Generic as fuck. It kind of just pisses me off now that there's a tonne of bands in various scenes, especially Metalcore, where every band sounds identical. The same old watered-down carbon-copied shit, with nothing to say lyrically and nothing even remotely distinguishable musically. I'll bet there are a hundred unnoticed bands out there that can do a much better job at creating new and interesting music than these guys, yet they probably won't make it nearly as far. Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking this band for the sake of it, I used to like The Ghost Inside, they were interesting earlier in their career. It's just the many scenes that surround these bands have a trend of unoriginality going on, which is sad because I love this kind of music and it'd be a shame if myself and many others lost interest because of it.
Name a band, any band, and I am willing to bet in less than a few minutes I can find plenty that sound identical to it with little change. Genre's exist for a reason, so they can classify specific sounds and branches from metal. Saying something like all metalcore sounds the same is like saying the colour red all looks similar. Yeah, no shit it does, that's kind of what the point is. I could argue how there are distinct differences in each band, and you would do the same for bands you like, but I won't argue an opinion.
I'll never understand why people waste their time going to a bands page, or to their songs on UA-cam and just blatantly hate. If you don't like metal/metalcore/or this band, then why go to a page that is devoted to people who actually DO love the music. To anyone who thinks all metal music sounds the same, you're totally welcome to have and keep that opinion...but this can be said about every genre of music because musicians are inspired by music that crosses decades. Keep your opinions, but stop the hate, you're only hating yourself.
I hope Jeremy McKinnon works on every single TGI record from here on out, because damn. The song structure, lyrics, mixing and overall production is perfect. Last album was so on point, and I feel like this one will be, too. Jeremy and TGI work so well together.

wesley harrington OK COOL!
wesley harrington dats rude
eric eady DustinPoynter ignore him. But yeah man he's a great producer. Btw you can hear Jeremy in the background on this track!

I love it. TGI do not disappoint. They have yet to release a song I don't like.
couldnt agree more Señor Danger
Please refer to my response to jkteddy77 above. Good day sir
i love it! it soothes my ears one of my favorite bands they cant do any wrong for me
You just gave the answer to all the comments of this video. Respect. This is a genius band!
Please please NEVER stop making music, it's just so good....
Seriously, TGI. Come to Brazil, we need you guys here.
the more I listen to this song, the more I don't mind the intro sounding like BMTH. I like it
This song is helping me during a breakup, custody battle, and self-forgiveness stage in life.
I'm glad I came back to this song years later
Glad this helped you!
Hope all is well bro
This song means everything. I'm back on my own with my daughter. Gives me chills and strentgh eveytime. Thanks TGI
I can't stop screaming these words over again

Hey, hey, I'm living for today
Forgetting things I can't change unwinds me
Hey, hey, nothing stands in my way
Time stopped when I broke the chains that bound me
It all comes down to this. Both truth and consequence
I need something more than an empty promise
To believe in something, just one thing, that will never go wrong, not today
Letdown after letdown, I'm done
Hey, hey, I'm living for today
Forgetting things I can't change unwinds me
Hey, hey, nothing stands in my way
Time stopped when I broke the chains that bound me
Count the clock till the overhaul
You built a bomb inside my walls
Count the clock till we're out of hand
You build, build now we're caught in the avalanche

They never seem to dissapoint. Seeing them in a month and i cant wait
I don't think it's possible for this band to make a bad song
I saw these guys live last year, and instantly liked them, buying their GWYG album immediately due to how solid they were. This sounds like they've done nothing but improve, and I look forward to this album's release.
The Ghost inside is too fucking good every album just keeps getting better

PurpleHysteria The Ghost Inside is one of the best bands youll ever see live, Full of energy and sound fantastic. Youre in for one hell of a show!

The intro does sound like the intro to FTFD's Endless, but its because Andrew (ex-ftfd, drummer for TGI) helped write Heavy Hearts and also helped write the material for The Ghost Inside.
omg this is so good
I can only imagine how awesome this will be live
Thank god this song came out the day my classes start cause holy shit, school blows without good music. amirite?
totally right
Wow great timing TGI, just last night I was thinking about about music I was excited for in the future. You were one of the ones and did not fail
youtube logic: listening to the ghost inside. recommended videos: 5 seconds of summer smh
Your recommendations are based off videos you've watched previously... Not the video you're currently watching.
Parker LA I also got 5 seconds of whatever as a recommendation and I don't even know who they are
Parker LA You're wrong, I got the same ;)

We stare at broken clocks,
The hands don't turn anymore.
The days turn into nights, empty hearts and empty places
It's the same intro chord progression innit?
Welcome back TGI... cannot wait for this album!!
So much goodness in this song, who produced this?
Andrew Wade I think
Michael Thatcher Nah im pretty sure it was Jeremy Mckinnon
Andrew Wade of The Wade Studios
Wrong, Jeremy produced their previous album
Brendon stacey Yeah but I thought I read somewhere Jeremy was producing this one aswell, maybe it was just a rumour
one of my fav albums ever.
WE STARE AT BROKEN CLOOOOOOOOOOCKKSSS THE HAANAAA -- cough, I mean what I CAN'T STOP SCREAMING THESE WORDS OVER AGAIN!
+Swagcat if sorrow could build and stair... i mean HEY, HEY
+Swagcat Haha, my first fucking thought! I was about to start singing it, but then i realized its not bmth lmao
I thought "Mhm, this sounds like suicide season".
You guys are soooooo right. like its good, but its a bmth rip off lol
The mixing on the guitars and drums to me gives it a live yet very refined heavy sound and it's fucking amazing this album is gonna be great
It sounded like Suicide Season by BMTH at the beginning lol. Awesome song =D
i thought the same :D
Haha my thoughts exactly
I thought the same thing!
I thought the same :D
I didn't thought the same :D

This song is like heaven put into words
the very last time he says "Now we're caught in the avalanche" I swear to God I can hear Jeremy Mckinnon. Im pretty sure I hear him in the backround of Engine 35 as well
He has helped with their production in the past so I wouldn't be surprised.
Listen to Engine 45, its literally just Jonothan Vigil, he has a very similar clean voice to Jeremy
Late reply here lol, but thats gotta be jeremy. Too spot on to be vigil
The drums in this track sound so perfect!
Do you think these guys could make a bad song if they tried? I don't.
Probably not but they have made better songs in the past
Brendon stacey agreed. dunno, but this song doesnt get me going in any way
Have a listen to suicide season by bring the horizon. The biggest rip off i've ever heard.
Braden Groundwater I dont think I ever heard a song on Suicide Season with "Hey, Hey" Gang vocals?
Stuart Kinnear nah, you're right!
OHMYGOD YES FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
I've been waiting for so long for new TGI. They bever fail to impress with every single new song they release
Exactly the same chord progression and atmosphere as suicide season by BMTH in the intro. Weird.
it is the same progression. tempo and pitch isn't what i'm referring to.
Mmmchutney there's also the same chord progression at the 1:12 mark for It Never Ends. Pretty fucked.
ChaosinFull recycling chord progressions isn't really anything new. this is musically the same song as alot of older TGI songs that came out long before BMTH decided they wanted to jump on the melodic hardcore bandwagon.

I never said that BMTH made the scene, I said they were amongst the frontrunners that made the scene what it was and what it is.
The first thing i thought whem i heard this was BMTH but that doesn't take away the fact that it's still a goid song with great lyrics.
Anyone coming back to this after listening to "Aftermath"
Literally me right now.
No because that song fucking slaps
never left.
Aye
True because the song f****** slaps
Just saw them last night in San Francisco and they were absolutely amazing!
Just heard Jeremy Mckinnon at 2:52. Sick.
Best song of the year so far for me, so stoked for the new album!
Does no one shut up and listen to lyrics anymore?
This is really good. The Ghost Inside just gained a new fan.
WE STARE AT BROKEN CLOCKS!!
The hands don't turn anymore!
exaclty what i thought xD
@@grimoluden2693
The days turn into nights!
Also, do you guys know any other bands or albums that sound like Suicide Season?
To me this song has a Parkway Drive feel in certain parts, which is amazing. Looking forward to the new album, keep up the good work guys!
Intro sounds more like "endless" from for the fallen dreams than "suicide season".
This is an amazing song, does it matter if it sound similar to some old 'deathcore' song?
Like chill out guys.
If you feel it's such a rip off, then don't listen to it, simple as that.
*the intro sounds similar to some old "deathcore" song?..
when they come out with a new album it's going to be amazing. with their recent experiences there is going to be alot of emotion and alot to write about.
"We stare at broken clocks!" Lol
Cant wait for their new album. Best melodic metalcore group.
Hope this isn't the final mix
I love these clean parts
so im not the only one that hears suicide season and it never ends... right?
Literally came here looking for this comment
Yet again my favorite band delivers!
Intro sounds like Suicide Season from BMTH
+Jess Grenier Totally :D
Its even more similar than Black Veil Brides - Pens and Knives and Avenged Sevenfold - Unholy Confessions
So glad the band is okay. Can't wait to see what's in store later down the road!
The intro reminded me a ton of suicide season from bmth haha
Oh my. My first time hearing this song and the band. Its truly great
Especially at 2:18
Vocals are bit too loud I'd say but good song, though the Suicide Season tribute intro was a bit too obvious lol
The guitars just need to be brought up in the mix
U wot m8
Brendon stacey Agreed.
lmao.
the beginning of this song is so powerful and moving
The Ghost Inside - The Suicide Season It Never Ends
Stupid moron.
***** who gives a fuck what it sounds like as longs as its good :D i am beyond keen for this song
sounds more like comeback kid to me
thats what i thought XD but its still good
It's just influence. Sick And Disgusting by Beartooth really reminds me of Suicide Season as well. All three songs are banging.
Best song for pre Work out on the planet. Nuff said!
The ghost inside - Suicide season
yesss
No go fuck yourself
+danny worsnop First time I heard this, I thought it's SS...

Nah the beginning definetly has the feels of suicide season but songs are equally GOATED 🔥🔥
Finally!!!! If you talk trash about this I don't give a fuck. I've been a fan since the beginning! Killer track dudes!
Bring me the horizon are absolute dog shit in comparison to the ghost inside
+Charlotte Holloway r u ok?
Absolutely correct.
no way XDDDD this shitt is nothing in comparation with bmth.... xdddd
That dog shit just donated 10k to TGI’s recovery so
no way but
your opinion
the china at the end sounds so damn good! Drums are on point
BMTH wishes they ever sounded like TGI.
Just seen you guys live at Barrowlands and you were great. What an amazing support band. Thanks.
cant believe the drummer lost in leg. :(
yes, so sad :(
+FragSpots he's got a new one ;)
Cant believe anyone would cheer for the bruins
They never disappoint.
The drums sound awful. There's no low end or punch at all.
I think it sounds the exact opposite... good low end, great punch ! The whole mix is pretty good imo
Look someone who pretends to know what they're talking about.
bro its all low end it sounds great
***** I'm the exact opposite, I think their older albums all sound very muddy and too distorted. But in this mix the guitars are more crisp, no issues with the drums for me. I guess it's all to do with preference.
Carwyn Stephen I think all of it is great
I love this album and for all of you who dislike it well that's your opinion. I think this is great.
Suicide silence and bmth r the most horrible band there is
k
well, that's like.. just your fucking opinion man.
Get well soon you guys, all the best

It's eye-rollingly generic.
As much as i like the song, its relatively impossible to escape your point about it being generic. There are a lot of bands doing the same sadly :(
Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking this band for the sake of it, I used to like The Ghost Inside, they were interesting earlier in their career. It's just the many scenes that surround these bands have a trend of unoriginality going on, which is sad because I love this kind of music and it'd be a shame if myself and many others lost interest because of it.
You seem like something of a pro ;)
Do you have any bands that arent that generic because i miss something unique in todays musik business
Name a band, any band, and I am willing to bet in less than a few minutes I can find plenty that sound identical to it with little change.
This mix is awful
I love this mix
100% agreed.
I have no idea what you're listening through then because through my Grados headphones it sounds dope
you're an idiot.
Who?
The Ghost Inside: Still sounding huge after six years.
How many modern metal bands can match that?
