    LYRICS
The second hand looks like a knife. As it’s counting down the rest of our lives.
So hard to swallow. No steps to follow. It became so hard to survive.
Dear youth, what was your one big plan?
You made us believe we had the world in our hands.
We left home with nowhere to go. Facing our fears as we brave the unknown.
All I have to keep are these jaded old memories from screams of how it used to be.
I once was blind but now I can see that words of rationality were wasted on me.
So I said goodbye. It’s just a memory, that hasn’t come to be.
But I recognize that if you’re on the right track but catch the wrong train,
    Nothing ends the same.
Dear youth, what was your one big plan?
You made us believe we had the world in our hands.
We left home with nowhere to go. Facing our fears as we brave the unknown.
Dear youth, put back those thoughts in my head.
The ones where I believe that I am boundless again.
I know we’re at the end of the road. This is our story, this was our home.
    We were unbreakable.
Alive and well. The days are shrinking.
Alive and well. Each moment more fleeting.
Alive and well. We gave our best.
Alive. And well, you know the rest...

This song feels like an ode to the generation who grew up with modern metalcore. We're all getting older and sometimes it's hard to not regret certain things. We can't turn back the clock. Always forward.

      @TheDrogich 9 років тому +6

Tom Irby and you know they don't have attitude?? Who are you to judge them, as far as I know hardcore is a lifestyle and people who listen to hardcore become consumed by it. It affects their thinking, the way they live their life. It affects the people they surround themselves with and most of all, it affects the person they will become. There is a difference between people who “listen to hardcore” and those who truly listen to hardcore. Those that “listen to hardcore” are people who do so because they enjoy the sound of certain band, it was recommended by a friend or if they read that a band they really like mentioned them in an article or interview. Those who truly listen to it get into hardcore because it speaks to them on an emotional level, a level that they can’t explain. And there are thousand of people, whether they are teens or grown up persons with their families who listen to TGI among other hardcore bands and this band speaks to them at that same level mentioned above, and again I ask you again one question, who are you to discredit that.

Tom Irby Not exactly true because Suicidal Tendencies is considered the "classic hardcore band" and they made shit tons of money and music videos.

Tom Irby these dudes are true hardcore kids that grew up in the same hardcore scene as anyone else. just because someone wants to think they are more hardcore and say others arent is a fucking joke. what are you a nujack.

Tom Irby They sound awesome in some people's opinion and in mine too. I don't think we really care about shitty genre labels. I personally rank TGI above many hardcore bands just because the melody adds more variation to their sound while also keeping them fast-paced and heavy.
Kill me for choosing "music" over "lifestlye".

my heart goes out to you guys. and the families of the people that have also lost so much in the accident. I am sure you will be able to pick yourselves up after the news of the drummer losing his leg.
