Mono was originally going to wear a black buttoned up coat that covered everything except his legs. His skin was originally going to be grey, but they changed this so that people would not instantly make the connection that Mono is the Thin Man.

@@HScreecHC The “Veronica song” is an actual song called “Down in the valley where the green grass grows.” But the audio is a little distorted so you can’t quite make out the lyrics, but it’s not an original song to little Nightmares. A lot of the songs and commercials within Little Nightmares are either English or Japanese, but the written language is Kanji. The Pale City even resembles an early to mid 20th century Japan.
My theory is that Six definitely did care for Mono at the beginning, and that she wasn't an evil entity. We can see that she cares for him throughout the game, because she catches him several times and after they made the last exit through the tv with the thin man chasing them, she reaches to touch Mono but he wakes up. Then she tries, risking her own life, to usher him towards safety. She also expected Mono to take her hand when the thin man grabs her, presuming that she may have taken his hand if the roles were switched, and I believe this is where the *resentment* began.
When she got trapped in the tv, obviously some sort of energy leaves her body (her static self) causing a void. As the thin man keeps her captured and most likely tortures her due to resentment, she returns back to a music box for comfort--just like she did when in the hunter's cabin. When Mono arrived, after hearing his voice, she even offered to share it with him. You can see her let her guard down by letting go of it and nudging it towards him. His face was revealed here too, so I truly don't believe she thought he was the thin man at the end. Mono destroys the music box instead. Mono, believing that he had to destroy the music box to save her, and Six, only knowing that it was her only comfort, creates a huge misunderstanding. Six most likely believed that Mono betrayed her first.
At the beginning of the game, there is foreshadowing to the end by the way Mono breaks down the door in the hunter's cabin to get to her playing the music box. He is breaking down her comfort zone, and Six in the state that she was, this was all she understood. You can see that she looks at him very darkly after he saves her. And then of course, she drops him. I believe this is because of resentment and some sort of influence from the tower after her static self leaves her.
When she leaves, she looks insecure of her decision. She obviously didn't feel good about it. Her static self points towards the Maw, which could possibly fill the void she feels inside of herself after escaping the tower--the void left from her static self.
That's a very detailed description of my theory haha. I'm sure people will see that massive paragraph and not read it, but I had to get my thoughts down through words.
Not a bad theory. I could see that since it did seem like when she stared at Mono after turning back, there was some hate. To me at least.

@@lexislife5072 They both are too set in their ways mostly done by the time loop. Someone different is going to have to waver the timeline(s) for something similar of what you want to happen. It will be hard for them to shake off years of what has affected them in the past. Either they will grow to understand their differences and try to make amends, or they will use force to have any closure for any kind of grief that made them lead to their own mental demise. Its not easy to forgive and forget what has cost you either entirely or a fraction of your sanity. Sadly, I beg to differ trauma combined with grief will have a flawless outcome in the end.
@redemination LN2 is a prequel so people have theorized she turns into The Lady from LN1.
I read that there probably isn’t going to be a part 3. I hope there is I love this game and us players need to find out how it ends and not leave us hanging with just theories

My original interpretation is that when Six realized Mono was the tall man, she realized that Mono was in a time loop. If Six saves Mono from the TV world and most likely from becoming the tall man she might cause a paradox and destroy the universe. Since if he never becomes the tall man she wouldn't be there to make the decision. And having to decide to sacrifice a friend or risk unknown universal annihilation she chose to do what she knew had already been done. Also possibly there was some residual resentment for Mono dragging her away from what felt like a safe spot.
But because of the things she has been through being separated from her shadow self and giving up on the one friend she had for self preservation she becomes a monster hungry to fill the void inside of her.
@@LC-sc3en nah I feel like she let go of him in an attempt to kill him and stop Mono from becoming the Thin Man. Not knowing that letting him go would be the main reason as to how Mono turns into the Thin Man. If she just hadn’t let go then none of this would’ve happened

Don’t forget that near the end, before the thin man kidnapping, six made small gestures here and there confirming that she cared about mono
yap, e.g. her gesture that says 'run Mono' when the thin man is getting out of the TV. Six definitely gets really disappointed when Mono hid his face on the floor when she was captured. so at the end, Six was like ok I am done with this stupid arrogant kid Mono (=proud)

@@laiainautumn-1252 Another theory is that Shadow Six is her actual soul. So that means Six in the Tower had no soul, and worried only about survival. Her body still trusted Mono, so that's why she didn't immediately abandon Mono, but the body saw no purpose in picking Mono up.
and after you hide under the overhang in the first chapter six makes a motion for mono to hold her sandwich means she already was lonely and wanted any human contact she could get so when mono didn't help her she felt broken and betrayed so she abandoned mono

my theory: Shadow Six is actually her soul. The thin man separates her body from soul in the last mission. when Mono rescues Six he rescues her body but doesn't put body and soul back together again. Everything that happens in little nightmares 1 is then Six's body acting without a soul, trying to fill the empty space in her heart.

Its not even Shadow Six really. Its a glitch, like the ones you can collect throughout the game. Glitch Six.
The glitches are the souls of the children the Thin Man takes, left behind as he takes their bodies to the signal tower.
I'm pretty sure your theory is the correct interpretation.
Six has always had darkness in her and been slightly selfish. She isn't an evil character by any means, but her past trauma has definitely damaged her emotionally and made her less concerned with other people. That said, we've seen throughout the series that she cares for her friends and will save them if she is able to.
The reason why she drops Mono is because she only then realizes that he is the Thin Man. If you rewatch the chase scene, she never manages to get a good look at Mono until that moment. For the vast majority of the time, she's ahead of him with her focus on escaping. When she turns to make sure he's still behind her, she reacts to save him before anything else registers. It's only at that point, where she's looking directly at his face, does she literally recoil in disgust, dropping him. Again, rewatch the scene. She doesn't just let go. She pauses, looks at him, and then violently rips her hand away as if he were a monster.
This largely substantiates the theory that, during her time trapped in the Tower, she was able to see who the Thin Man was. Upon seeing the similarities between him and Mono, she put two and two together before making a snap decision to kill Mono before he could become the Thin Man. I don't think it was premeditated nor do I think she found particular enjoyment in betraying him. I legit think it was somewhat reflexive in that moment.
Similarly, you can only get the secret ending after you've found the other shadow children. Since the Thin Man seems to rip Six from that dimension, it seems like whenever a child's body/essence is sent to the tower, their soul is trapped in the real world. This is why she doesn't experience hunger pangs before escaping the Tower nor while in it. This is because her soul is still apart of her. When she escapes the Tower, she's essentially back in the "physical plane" alongside her soul yet unable to recombine. This is why she becomes increasingly hungry from that point on and eventually into the first game.
Very long-winded, I know. I don't expect anyone to read this but that's what I'm thinking played out here. Six isn't a bad person. She's a traumatized person that has been dealt a bad hand again and again and is only reacting how any person would in these instances.

@Kawi Naabe she did know he would turn into thin man she just didn’t know how. Because she let him fall. And she did know thin man was Mono, that’s why she let him go in the first place. It’s basically they both caused this time loop as it’s Mono’s fault why Six let him go and Six’s fault by letting him go making him turn into thin man.
Next game gonna be Big Nightmares and they both sit down and talk it out in therapy

To me Six is one of the best characters of all my horror gaming history. Innocence meets darkness. She's absolutely charming and deep without saying the word. Just like the whole game series.

This what happens when you mix a white shirt in black. The shirt will turn darker, like how Six’s character development. She’s evil, but makes sense, she gone through a lot.
Six is not innocent or charming, she's as savage as everyone else in the game. Calling her 'deep' is only because there's a lot of theory behind her in the game, it's pretty abstract but that can be said for any NPC.
Each time Mono exits the TV throughout the game as he get closer to the door, six backs away from him more as if she begins to realize what's going on and becomes more afraid of Mono. At the end she realizes he is the thin man and drops him in fear of what he will become, but she doesn't know that dropping him will be the catalyst for him to evolve to the thin man. She did care for him but she became afraid of him and what he could become. During the secret ending Six is confronted by her shadow self that was formed while she was held captive in the TV. When Mono is destroying her music box she may believe he betrayed her and this was another reason she let him go. In the cabin her music box is all she has. I don't think she's inherently evil or wanted to kill mono. I think she possibly felt betrayed even though he was saving her, and she was afraid of him by the end.
It's like the old saying: "People fear what they do not know"

This would put Little Nightmares 1 in period way after Little Nightmares 2 where Mono and Six grew up to be Thin Man and the Lady respectively. In the first game there is a picture of the Lady with four other shadowed out figures of the Lady suggesting that the one from the first game is the fifth Lady of the Maw and then we have are protagonist named "Six" for no apparent reason unless she becomes the Sixth Lady of the Maw maybe
If you've played Little Nightmares, you probably know that Six is a survivor and cares about her own life over anyone else's. She probably thought that Mono was gonna turn back on her or something with the incredible power Mono has.
My theory is that the place where mono met six was six’s safe area, and when six is a gross giant monster when mono breaks down the door that was her nightmare. Also you know how mono is the thin man? Well the thin man was mono once but the cicle keeps repeating, so he doesn’t hurt mono he wants to hurt six, so that the cicle stops. You know how when your a kid you show your parents your favorite toy? Well when six is a monster, when you call her she shows you the music box, but mono he destroyed it, witch made her raged, so at the end when she’s holding your hand, when mono looks up, she doesn’t want to help him, she wants to have a finale look at his face. Even though destroying the music box was her own good, she was still raged. Why I think six is the lady tho, is because the music box that six plays with in little nightmares ll was the lady’s tune. And when six eats the lady, that’s the lady excepting her fate. And where the magic came from was the First Lady, then six eats that lady then she gets the power and when she grows up she is the lady then another six comes, and that cicle repeats. That’s my theory

I put this comment somewhere else, but I'm gonna put it here too:
My theory is that Mono holds the power of light, the power to actually fix and restore the wretched world (notice how the mini game when he enters the TVs involve him making the hallway straight, and how during his fight with The Thin Man the buildings in the back are restored to their vertical shape everytime Mono pushes Thin Man)
When Mono is betrayed by Six, the light in the ending passes from Red to purple, and then blueish, which could represent Mono's state of mind, and how his power of light got corrupted by his resentment, and now with the tainted light, Mono is causing the chaotic world to spread.
Likewise, after he (as the Thin Man) captured Six, and brought her to the signal world, he tortured her and made her suffer for decades (remember that time flows differently in the signal world) which in turn caused Six to become wretched and to awaken her inner power of darkness. So, even after Mono restores her original form, she still holds the resentment towards Mono, which lead her to let him fall at the end.
Basically, the two kids caused harm to each other and grow resentful not really knowing why the other did what they did. Mono never knew why Six let him fall, and Six never knew why the Thin Man tortured her. A very sad cycle bound to happen again and again.
So there is no LN3 anymore because this is a time loop for six and mono

But my theory is:
1) Little Nightmare 2 is a prequel
2) six is not the lady and she doesnt have any relationship with the lady (Bandai Namco already confirm about it)
3) six betray mono Because six in the end is not six but dark six that already controled her because of mono destroy her music box (her soul)..
This is exactly what I was thinking just not as clearly in my mind and you explained my thoughts perfectly. But i completely agree with this ending, it honestly makes the most sense too. I don't think six is evil, so to let him fall for her own personal gain and no other reason seems very unlikely, unless she felt that he deserved it, which if she knew mono was thin man from her time in the tower, she would definitely think so
Theory: what if while Six was in the tower she was brainwashed while turning into a moster. Another thing that I noticed when we finally save Six, Six just outruns Mono almost leaving him behind as if she didn't know or care about him, which is why she drops Mono because she doesn't recognize him.
Edit: I know you all are gonna mention the part where Six catches Mono *BUT* I just forgot to mention that part. I think that Six was *PROGRESSIVELY* losing her memory when Six catches Mono she slowly forgets about him and then doesn't remember him leaving her wondering who he was and so Six droped him.
Most of this theory makes some sense, but I think it's more from the Thin Man's actions then the corruption of the tower. Remember when TM captures Six, he leaves behind a glitchy, shadowy looking version of her; we've seen many of these kinds of beings throughout the game as collectibles. Those are the glitching remains of children, likely left behind when they were taken by the Thin Man, and they are possibly the souls of the children. Notice how when Mono is injured after the train car crashes, the shadow Six appears and guides him, indicating that she still cares for him and wants to help him escape the Thin Man, but Six herself as you mentioned outruns Mono when they are running from the flesh walls and then abandons him near the end. This suggests that the good part of Six was left behind as her glitching remain when she was taken by TM, and the six we see now is just her body, now lacking a soul. Throughout the game, Six and Mono become close friends and rely on each other; Mono saves Six at every turn even though he could easily leave her, so why would she just abandon him so easily at the end? Unless the part of her that contains her humanity and compassion was go; she still has the memories of the time she spent with Mono and she knows he has risked his life constantly to save her, but she no longer has the emotional attachment to him. The part of her that cares for Mono is gone.
This can also be speculated to be the cause of her hunger in the first game; because her soul is gone, she is empty, which her body expresses as physical hunger and a need to eat to fill the void. Notice how throughout the game she eats different things: bread, meat, a rat, a gnome, and then the Lady. Each of the things she eats gradually changes until she becomes a straight cannibal, which is likely because of her body's need to regain a soul; while things like the bread and meat satisfied her, it was only temporary because they weren't living, they had no life essence. She needs to consume something actually living and take its soul in order to fully satiate her hunger, which explains the rat, the gnome and especially The Lady. Animals are considered to not have souls, so while the rat was living, it didn't have the necessary life essence; the gnome, while living and once human, had been changed into something else, so its life essence wasn't enough. It is only after consuming The Lady and stealing her powers that Six seems to overcome her hunger, as she now stole the life essence of an extremely powerful being, and can use her powers to steal the life from others and replenish what she lost.
At least, that's my take on things.

She didn't turn evil when she was taken inside the TV, she kept showing signs of having a darker side throughout the game. She ditches Mono selfishly at the start, she breaks the Bully without prompting, she breaks the fingers of the prosthetic arm, she warms her hands on the burning doctor...
Also, this game is a prequel, right?

My theory is that after she transformed into a monster, she no longer felt the need to be scared or powerless, and she even tried to share her power/comfort with Mono but then Mono took it away from her which caused her to become angry and drop him.
I think the music box represented hopelessness because when Mono found six in the room, she wasn't trying to escape or fight, it looked like she was resigned to being locked up, so although the music box comforted her, it represented resignation, sadness, and despair. That's why when Mono freed her, she forgot the music box instantly. In the end, the music box represented the same hopelessness at being imprisoned forever by the tall man, she was desperate to have the one thing that kept her comfort, but that same comfort locked her in that same hopelessness. That explains why every time Mono hits the box, six got angrier and angrier until she was eventually freed/ broken from the music box's spell.
Looking at Mono's body language before and during the drop, I almost feel like Mono told Six to let him drop. He stopped struggling and there was no arm-flailing or panic as he fell. He almost seemed to have accepted it.

I have a bit of a theory, it alines with the second to last one, but it's something.
Basically, I think that 6 had dropped Mono because she saw that he was the thin man, as we know from the first game, 6 is smart and is able to go against everything the Maw throws at her, and I think she is smart enough to realize that Mono is the thin man simply because they had the same powers, so I think she can put 2 and 2 together, but I also think it's out of confusion, imagine. You suddenly get kidnapped by what you think is your partner, but older? You blank out for a bit and all you can think about is your music box from a much simpler, and slightly safer time, you suddenly come back to find your partner who you think kidnapped you, and everything starts crumbling down as you both run away towards what you hope is an exit, you make it before your partner and he can't make the jump without your help so as you've done several times before you catch him, but he might be your kidnapper, trying to trick you, or maybe he is your kidnapper but younger, trying to drag you into this mess again, or maybe he is just wanting to make sure he DOESN'T become your kidnapper, and why is the building crumbling down, where are you, what is your next move? and well, we all know what happens next. As a child, you can only handle so much stress, for 6 it was to a point where if she didn't make a move now and just wing-it, she might die with Mono, and so she dropped him, in the end, she doesn't like her decision, it was out of left field and desperate for it all to be done, and now she is left with a void, she just dropped her best friend the one she relied on most, and soon after she made a new one.

I think the reason she catches you in the end is so that she can take some of your power to travel through the tv and the reason she gets hunger pains and that her shadow (soul) is just out at the end is because she couldn’t control the power and it backfired

The theory about how she doesn't want to eat him confused me from the beginning through out the entire game Nether Mono or Six get hungry we didn't see them go around looking for food it only happened at the end when Six went through the tv and seemed to lose a part of her self so I highly doubt that she was worried about eating Mono

@@miau_carina I don't know exactly what your trying to say so I'm just going to make my best guess form reading your comment but in Little Nightmares the first game we know when Six is hungry because we can hear her stomach growling and she starts getting stomach pain but in Little Nightmares 2 we don't see that happen any where in the game not to Six or Mono at least not until the true ending when we watch Six's dark form disappear
short theory: When Six is hungry she will eat a living thing so she was afraid that she might eat mono so she dropped mono for his own safety.

Personally I believe it's actually extremely simple. Six is a sadistic and very vindictive character, when Thin Man took her she reached out to Mono to help her, but he was too scared and cowered under the bed and looked away, so despite Mono saving her multiple times, all it took was that one time for her vindictive nature to decide later to let him go

I beleive all of this to be true. But i think that there is a much simpler answer to this. She saw his real face for the first time. She most likely felt betrayed herself because he was the thin man all along. So she took the opportunity to drop him

While within the Hospital, Mono is tasked with shutting off the life support of a patient in order to distract the Doctor. When we do so, the patient begins to twitch, and when he does we can clearly see a tube protruding from the back of his bandaged head. This may act as an explanation for the piece of concept art that depicts a cook whose head is missing and instead has several wires reaching out from his throat and connecting to some unseen device on the ceiling. I also believe that this headless cook is located within a studio for a television show.
This may sound ridiculous, but does this mean that he is a cybernetic organism? This allows us to question how the hospital patients function, and how advanced the humans are and how the Signal Tower allows this to happen.
I think he may be a normal human who hasn't been corrupted by the signal tower, the doctor could be studying him to find a way to turn the corrupted people back to normal

I suspect that it's ultimately a combination of the music box, the thin man connection, and her nature, all working together.
Six is a survivor above all else, I think we can all agree on this if nothing else about her. She's lived through a lot of hardships and doesn't trust easily, which is on display throughout this game as at first, the only reason she stays with Mono at all is because she literally can't escape without his help. As they endure hardships together, though, she seems to slowly warm up to him. I choose to interpret that she's allowing herself, despite past traumas, to believe that Mono really might care about her well being, but it takes time and repeated positive reinforcement to convince the scared, self-preserving side of her psyche to begin lowering those high emotional walls. This building trust reaches its peak after the Hospital, when Mono has the opportunity to leave her trapped beneath a collapsed building with no external threats around, no obvious need to keep her around, but chooses to pull her out anyway. You can see it in the body language, she's really considering in that moment that he may be that rare case of a true friend.
But there's another arc happening parallel to Six's trust issues. The peculiar and tragic case of the Thin Man. Mono has a fate that he has to face, something preordained that calls to him, as far as the very beginning of our time with him. The Thin Man uses his power, Mono's power as siphoned and harnessed by the Tower Abomination, which I call the Broadcast, to seek out and attract his younger self. To lure the younger Mono into letting him out of the Tower, which has been his unyielding prison for so long. This lure occurs three times in-game, and we see its affect on the two kids' relationship every time. In the first instance, Six only found Mono at the television after the fact, and probably didn't understand what was happening enough to make any sense of it. I expect that without any real explanation or context she assumed it was just another strange, creepy phenomenon going around the world, which Mono happened to be caught by.
But the second time was different. This one happened in the Hospital, the approximate midpoint of Six's trust arc, and while she has reasons to believe in his sincerity now, she's still struggling with her ingrained habit of distrusting all but herself. So when the business with the TV happens again, and this time she's closer by and can actually witness how Mono is drawn to it, seems to connect to it... well the scene speaks for itself, Six pulls him away again, but only after seeing enough that when he regains himself from his stupor, she flinches away, physically retreating from what she has just realized may be a strange and powerful danger to her well being. She has context now, and has made the connection between him and that strange, threatening power.
But as they continue, Mono is still Mono. They make it through the Hospital, even going so far as to attain a complete victory over its master denizen. Her strange companion has continued to do nothing but help her as best he can, frequently plunging into the dangerous unknown again and again when he could have given her a turn, always returning with a key or some other helpful item to move them forward. Despite his apparent connection to the Broadcast, and indeed despite her own hardship-honed instincts, Six manages to overcome that step backward, and takes one step forward, then another. I think when the building collapse happens, she really has just about set aside her misgivings and begun to think of him as a friend.
But then, the third call. This time Six is literally right behind you when it happens, so there's no reason she couldn't have stopped you immediately. But she has come around to believe in Mono, and I think that in that moment, perhaps she thought that if this was really a part of him, if this was something he was being drawn to without fail... he isn't bad, so maybe, just maybe, this isn't either. Six set aside her reservations for a friend, observing him carefully from nearby as he was compelled to answer the call.
Since we experience the game from Mono's perspective, we never see what it looks like from the outside, but I believe that Six was able to see that ominous hallway through the television. She was able to pull Mono away from it both times prior, after all, so it's not like he physically disappears from reality when his consciousness projects inside. I think Six watched as Mono ran down that hall, seized the handle on the door, opened the way... and then she saw that unfriendly light, saw the Thin Man rise up from his seat. I believe at that moment instincts kicked back in. Six saw that this wasn't Mono after all (though it was), it was another monster, and it was then that she pulled Mono away. But the door had been opened, there was no going back now. Six made a huge step in her relationship with Mono by allowing him to take that risk, and she is repaid instantly with a cruel fate. The Thin Man comes out, it finds her. She is taken. And so, that tenuous trust, so fragile in its infancy, is shattered.
We all know what happens from here. In order to save his friend and himself, Mono gives in and begins to flex his powers, navigating the Pale City and dodging the Thin Man, ultimately embracing his true identity as wielder of the signal force, and with that last obstacle bested, both outside and within, he assails with new strength and courage the tower at the heart of it all.
But Six doesn't see any of this, is the thing. She doesn't see his struggle or his moment of actualization, so when next they meet, her twisted into a beast, he now showing his true colors, they are coming from two very different perspectives. So when Mono wields his supernatural might against her, even if it eventually restores her to her uncorrupted form, well, the blows were still painful, and that pain was very real to her. I think that final confrontation in the Tower tore down whatever vestiges of trust remained in Six after her previous actions got her burned. There's a sharpness in the way she looks back at you in the wreckage, as she gets up beside that busted music box.
So when the world begins collapsing, she doesn't wait for you. She runs, once again putting herself first. She makes it to the doorway, and yet, I think despite her new resolve, she can't help but look back. She sees Mono, she can tell that he's not gonna make it. Perhaps before she can collect her thoughts, her body follows the pattern that they'd been following for all the game before her abduction. She sprints to the edge and catches his hand. But as she grabs hold there is a war waging inside of her heart, a vicious bloody struggle between the two wolves of that old saying. In one wolf, a small fledgling light, a friendship and a hope, a warm promise, but one that's barely had time to form. In the other, the coldness and apathy of the world she's lived in. A simple darkness pouring from every crack and gaping hole, hissing that in this life, the only one that can truly be trusted, is her.
And as she looks down at him, into his unobstructed face, she sees something familiar.
The dark wolf is fed. It wins.
She lets go.

To your question at 5:30; "Why would Six be resentful of Mono transforming her back by destroying the music box?" Well in order to save her, you have to betray the trust that she has shown you and attack the music box. Whether she still cares about the music box after turning back is irrelevant, all that matters is that you hurt her at her most vulnerable using her trust for you to do so. She was obviously very wary of you at the start of the game but cares for you quite a lot at the end, and now you have accidentally taught her that having a friend can HURT her.
I think the reason why she drops Mono is that her survivalist mindset, that she will do absolutely anything to survive, is contrasting with the fact that her friend has become a critical weak point to her. Despite attacking her being a necessary evil to saving her, she has now experienced how having a friend could hurt her so completely, and decides that the best thing to do for herself is to betray you first, before you can hurt her again.
TLDR: She decided to pull a Sasuke and cut out her bonds with others so that she can be strong and they can't be used to hurt her.

I personally believe that when the thin man took 6 her mind and body separated from her soul thus removing the goodness and child like qualities from her and cause she had one of the 3 missing her body was able to warp easier and cause of her soul gone , this is the introduction to why 6 is so selfish.
Six isn't and never was a good child. You can see the hints of her true characters throughout the story, even before the Thin Man took her, separated her body and mind and stuff.
She is a vengeful kid. After being kidnapped by the mannequins, she brutally smashed the one mannequin's head against the floor. Then she stood up and was looking at it quite satisfied, which closely reminds the way she looked at Mono before letting go of his hand. Then, she was playing with some discarded hand while waiting for Mono, twisting and breaking its fingers. When they killed the doctor, she sat down to warm up her hands on the fire. Later, she nudged with her leg the corpse of that man (one of the blind viewers?) who fell through the ceiling, then run to stick his head in that thing (whatever it was) with water, where the tv was.
She did get close to Mono and cared for him, but again, she holds grudges and is vengeful. In her nightmare, Mono broke the door over and over, just like when he first found her, but this time he was destroying her safe place. The eye-creature likely used the memory of the music box - the only comfort she had when she was trapped in Hunter's home - to trap her in her own nightmare. And her nightmare was Mono breaking in over and over. It could be that she blamed him for every bad thing that has happened to her after leaving the Hunter's house.
So, like, I really didn't see any signs of goodness, child-like qualities and empathy that is usually seen in kids, in any of the games.

I suspect the remains are souls. Six had her body and soul separated, roughly meaning Shadow Six is the Six Mono knows, while the body is walking around on survival instinct.

I've been thinking this alot dunno if it's a theory or just a fact but, there was 2 things I noticed from Six that can show she would betray Mono.
first when you save her form the hunter, you pull that a brigde rope for her to jump. if you dont call her she wont look back at you, like, it was like she was thinking "Im save now...Im free" but once you call her she will think twice because she needs Mono for her survival. That is literally a foreshadowing of when she let Mono fall. Not looking back.
Other thing I noticed is when she's kidnapped by the bullies, when you free her she hits her head really hard on the ground. Tho Im not a doctor or scientist but, if you hit your head really hard, you either gain some amnesia or for rare cases (again Im not a doctor so I cant confirm this) have a switch personality. Because she got her revenge by breaking one bullie's head but have you noticed how she behaves after that? cracking fingers, sit on floor to get warmth while the doctor is being burning alive and the way she looks "creepily" down when Mono finally destroyed the music box.
Six knew that world was messed up but that fall from the bullies bathroom changed her. Her personality got colder and meaner.
then at final, she used Mono and then she betrayed him...
Again dunno if this is just a theory or fact but I really found interesting these details. Her body movement is interesting and talks louder.

Six has always been a kind of childish person but I don’t really think it might have been when she fell, we know that six is pretty heartless speaking of since in the first game she ate the gnome(aka one of the runaway kids) and used some of the kids in the cages to escape. When mono finds her she has the music box which I think is connected to the moor and the lady because of its shape and sound, that might be why she’s so connected with it. When Mono breaks the music box trying to “save” six, Six acts differently since her safe place was destroyed by somebody she started to trust. She most likely dropped Mono after that trust was broken by him breaking the music box

Because before all that she doesn't show any "cold" or "evil" side. On the hunter, Mono is the one grabbing a shotgun and shoot while Six is holding the door (and yes it's a game mechanic because the game wants you to move and grab things) but going back to the gnomes, she had gnomes on the hunters house with her. I get feeling that the gnomes are always scared but they want to help other kids. And thing I noticed she started to hunger after her shadow was pull off of her body when Thin Man grabbed her. Then betrayed Mono and left the Tv with hunger bells (in first game, you notice not everytime you play she's hungry, so she can hold her hunger a bit longer)
here’s my theory:
When there is a TV shown and mono heads towards it, you can see that six gets scared and pulls him out. She probably made the connection to him and the thin man because of that. Therefore that’s why she dropped him. But maybe, the reason why the thin man kidnapped six and tried to stop mono from rescuing her is because he was trying to warn mono that she would betray him.
Idk this is just a thought.

Like said, she probably saw what the thin man really looked like and it was her first time really seeing his face. This surprised her a lot and for her own safety and maybe even safety for others, she pulls her hand back knowing he will be the new enemy.

Then six doesn’t have a reason to drop mono (if the reason is six knowing mono was The Thin Man) AND if The Thin Man/Mono didnt chase or took six and made her a monster then mono didnt need to destroy the music box where six is obsessed with (which might be another reason why she dropped mono) Or if six doesn’t want to accidentally eat mono then why does she need to drop him, i mean they can go together at the portal and split up right? @@ok3528 plus, another theory say that when Six dropped mono, before that she took a bit of his power (because she couldn't go through screens herself and always needed Mono's help, but in the end she could somehow. Coincidence? I don't think so) and she couldn't handle the power and that created the hunger - the power had to be controlled/kept at bay with life forces.
So, if she didn't dropped him and they went through together, she wouldn't have had that problem anyways

She was betrayed (in her eyes) by Mono when she's captured by the Thin Man, so when she's holding Mono's hand and can see his face as the face that captured her, she knows that he can't help her. He turns into someone who hurts her, who tries to capture her.
She got scared when she realized that mono and thin man are the same person, the way she removes her hand, that's fear .
I was looking up the game earlier and this video came up and so the title spoiled the ending for me before I had a chance to play it myself 🗿

My theory: it’s similar to the shadow six one, but with a few changes. So the first thing is that shadow six isn’t a bad guy, in fact shadow six is the six we grew to know and love throughout the game. When the thin man took six, he tore her soul from her body and made her an empty husk. Then when mono destroys the music box she gets angry, it comforted her instincts and that’s all she had left, so when mono destroyed it, she got angry and confused because he destroyed the last thing that made her feel comfortable instinctually, so her being confused and not really knowing who he is (only her instincts being left in her) dropped him. That also explains the hunger for life force and why all of the substance she sucks out of the lady and people on the maw looks almost identical to her glitched self, she’s feeding herself with the souls. But more than all that, I think if they ever make a sequel, it will be the final game in the series, and it will be about the girl in the yellow raincoat (NOT SIX) she’s from a spin-off mobile game that is cannon, but we see her fall into the water with the antagonist in the end of the game and as much as I dislike the mobile game (very little nightmares) I don’t think she died, we never see her body, so I think she’s alive otherwise how would the raincoat have gotten into the city? And since she is the only main character who isn’t named after a number, I think she’s not part of the loop. I think we will play as her in the next game, and her journey through the city, where she drops her coat midway through and eventually stops the loop.
Another Theory (no evidence though. Just intuition) is that Mono was asking Six to drop him. I can't prove this because Six and Mono are silent characters. (like everyone other characters in Little Nightmares.)
I honestly think the most likely reason for Six to betray Mono was that *she* never did or wanted to. As in, something dark took control of her. Whether it was something within the Signal Tower or Shadow/Glitch Six, we're not sure. But I think it's the theory that makes the most sense. We clearly see, despite Six's sadistic side, she grew to care for Mono. She never just left him behind when she could have multiple times. She even stayed behind trying to wake him up and get him away from the television when the Thin Man was escaping. Mono was the first person she trusted, and seemingly the first one to care for her. It makes no sense that she'd just drop him by her own free will.
That's what I'm thinking, the shadow appeared when the ate the nome in the first game, and then she absorbed darkness when she killed the lady, or rather ate, and then she used her new dark powers to kill the guests, so she clearly has some darkness inside her
@@indigobird3454 Something I also noticed is that when Mono turns her back to normal, Six seems to give Mono this cold stare instead of being surprised by his face, or running up to hug him. And in the secret ending when Six exits the TV, Shadow Six appears. Now this would seem normal, except for the fact that Six is holding herself, as if she's distraught or realized what she's done. She doesn't have that cold expression anymore. Like Shadow Six had stopped taking control of her to stand in front of her. Six being powerless against this force, and has no choice but to go find the Maw and leave the boy she's come to care for or possibly even love if the ending had turned out better behind.

I like the Theory of her being selfish since she was the one who prevented Mono from freeing the thin man and he did cause her being kidnapped by the thin man at that point he wouldnt be worth the effort
This is revisiting the way Little Nightmares made us feel pity for monsters as victims of their insatiable desires. Making us the monster and sharing in their fate, just like in the first one.
Each time she escapes a monster, Six exacts revenge on them and this escalates up to her taking satisfaction in killing them. We feel a bit uneasy when she's breaking fingers for fun and warming her hands as the doctor burns alive.
The empathy we're supposed to feel for them is realized because we become them. And we're also victims of her revenge.
I was thinking the shadow was her good side
And thats why she doesnt care about mono anymore
Thinking about this more:
I think her being in the weird tv world for who knows how long (since we see the boy can grow to adulthood without starving), and then escaping the 1 "scar" she has gained is unyielding hunger.
Rewatching the scene where 6 drops him, you faintly hear her stomach growling.
This leads to 2 different thoughts. she either dropped him because she was starting to get extremely hungry and didn't want to eat him (we have seen her eat people) OR she didn't mean to drop him. The hunger was sudden and unexpected causing her grip to falter.
Also, is it just me or is the song being hummed right after "3 blind mice"? This could be telling us more about the narrative as well
I just watched an interesting animation that made me think "if this is a loop, that makes sense why 6 tried to run away from him at first"
when the thin man took her, she reached out to mono and he didn’t take her hand I felt like that, plus her realising him being the thin man and him destroying the music box when she was that monster also plays a part.

Also, at the very end of the game if you get all of the static children, it shows a small clip of where Six makes it back out through the tv where she was first kidnapped by the Slender man. In that clip, she tumbles out of the tv, stands up and her belly immediately begins to grumble in pain from hunger… just to add I believe when she was taken, the slender man took a part of her innocence to where a part of her was left in a state of a eternal void of unrest and hunger, which is why leading into The Maw, she is seen not being satisfied by any food for long.
First she ate bread, then turns to blood which started with a rat, then a human that was turned into a troll thing, she defeats and devours the Geisha, and then inherits the Geishas power to devour souls which I believe is what she lost trying to protect Mono.

I think she realised hes the Thin Man, it was the first time Six saw his face.
Maybe Six had a hunch that Mono was the Thin-Man, but she wasn't 100% sure until the very end, could be a possibility
To quote what a flower once said
‘In this world it’s kill or be killed”
she might not have recognized him as before, he was wearing a mask but after defeating the thin man, you can't wear a hat anymore

My own theory is that shadow six is really six’s soul, and has been fully separated from her body, leaving only hunger and instinct behind- the reason she appears during the hunger pains is because she’s watching her body and judging/condemning her actions. The hunger is her body trying to fill the hole her soul used to fill.
I would consider changing your thumbnail. It kinda just spoiled the whole game for me.

I honestly think she's just a kid who got trapped there and is just trying to survive. Mono is the same but he was trapped more recently. She probably resembled mono to the thin man and dropped him out of shock. (I don't think she was thinking because she hesitated and that was the first time she saw his face.)

Something I want to add is that the "She didn't want to eat Mono" would also be wrong because she didn't feel any hunger throughout the whole Little Nightmares 2 game.

i have a theory of my own. little nightmares 2 is a prequal. everyone says that the glitched remains six/ shadow six is evil, but what if that is not the case?
glitched remains can be found all over the outskirts(the woods) and within the pale city usually around their own body, having died from the thin man. (or maybe as soon as you die in this word you become glitched remains automatically?)Their bodies were either taken and corrupted(made into monsters as six was) or remain there to rot. six is naturally a very bold person with a bit of a temper who is a survivor to her very core(looking out primarily for herself and probably damaged from trauma). However, she does have the ability to have compassion, specially towards Mono who saves her like 3 times. she warms up to mono, pulling him from the television over and over again, hugging him after being saved.
when she was taken by the thin man her soul ripped from her body (the glitched remains) six's body was taken to the tower and became a monster, twisted as her personality. Mono fixed her by breaking the music box, or so we all thought. Six, no longer having the good qualities of herself in her, no longer cares about mono or may not even recognize him and drops him. The glitched remains (her soul) remains out of her body. since the music box is no longer keeping six alive and six does not have her soul, she needs to eat almost always (usually things with a life force) to stay alive and fill the emptiness in her. keep in mind that the hunger issues don't happen at all throughout the game and does not start until after mono "saves" six. six's remains follow around her body, watching her become a monster and indulging on life energy. it is just a interesting theory.

It's because Six thought that Mono was a threat because she knew that he defeated the Thin Man and knew the power he possessed. And Six has always believed in survival of the fittest, valuing her life more than Mono's. Six thought that Mono was a major threat, therefor dropping him because, if Mono ever turned on her- anyways, thats my point and logics. Even though she liked Mono and helped him many times, i just believe that was because she wanted to get on his good side, or she was waiting for the right time to betray him, a place where he couldn't come back. And as you can see if you enhance on the clip, Six is slowly sucking part of Mono's life force, just enough so that she can travel through the TV screen. We've seen her do that in Little Nightmares 1 with The Lady and The Guests. Six teleports through the TV and lands in the suitcase where LN 1 starts. i rest my case.
This may sound like a wild guess, but looking at the end of the video I noticed something, the shadow casted by Six looks a lot like the thin man with open arms, so maybe he possessed her when he trapped her in the tv and used her to escape and leave Mono as his replacement, he can also be the shadow self that looks to the poster
I mean she probably really DOES love that music box,she probably just knows it would be nearly impossible to just take it,besides she probably couldn't think clearly when some strange kid comes hacking through the wall like a maniac.
Here is a theory:
Six isn't a evil character but otherwise was more of lonely if you had seen in the beginning of little nightmares 2 there where days counted and her clothes seemed to be very old, as she went with Mono to the City finalising the end, she realises Mono is the thin man. Therefore she becomes more distant of him and is scared. The reason she dropped him might be because she thought it would let her out or save her. But she doesn't know that when she drops him therefore he becomes the thin man. As you might have seen Mono also becomes aware of his powers for an example of when he was going through the Tvs at the beginning he knew what he had to do. And which way it went to. ( I know the player plays Mono but he's the one in the game ) Thin man. ( Monos future self ) wants to save himself in the past from becoming what he is right now. So he kidnapped/ kidnaps Six to save himself but past Thin man (Mono) saves Six which leads to an endless loop of trys.

there's a question that pops up in my head whenever little nightmares 2 is brought up and that is "what happens if both six and mono fall?"
My theory if the order is Little Nightmares 2, Little Nightmares, then Very Little Nightmares: Six weakened after her music box was destroyed. She either did not have enough strength to lift Mono up, or her soul got separated from her body. Six then travels to the Maw after learning that it has endless feasts to possibly fill in the space that her soul used to fill. Her soullessness eventually leads to her ever increasing hunger, forcing her to eat living organisms to satiate her hunger. She eats the lady, gets powers, then builds a makeshift hot air balloon and travels to the Nest. All the events in Very Little Nightmares happen, each leading to Six's demise. That random character who pushed the boulder? She's probably just tired of seeing other children turn into dolls or Nomes. Idk what happened to that random girl, but I think that she could be another major character.
