It's very interesting it seems like you can wait a turn out. Similiar turn based rogue lite games like Nitrome's rust bucket force the player to move every turn as a challenge. Not saying I don't like it, but not having to be extremely careful in your movements is quite welcome.
I do prefer Roguelikes that allow you to "wait" for a turn as I feel it makes the game more accessible while still allowing for tactical play with positioning
You had my attention at the cat part, but if I have to be honest, I'm completely sold on that first person pistol animation. The fact that it's also a coffee break roguelike is a bonus point for me, since I enjoy playing these kinda games (roguelikes, that is) in short bursts. Definitely a buy for me.
Hell yeah! So happy to see you got to review this and liked it, this is one of my favorite movile games and I also have known Chaz for a while now, will share the video with him right now :)
It's really nice to come across well-made games during your alphabetical adventure, even if they're relatively small games like this. Also, 🐱Leo 🐱FTW. (And, for those interested, this game is 15% off during Steam's Spring Sale right now.)
@@Graeldon They're roguelike games that have this exact kind of turn-based tile-based movement style and map generation. @Graeldon there are already a bunch of vampire survivor clones so probably worse. It's kind of like how Slay the Spire made deck-builder roguelikes popular, but Vampire Survivors left very little room for improvement.
Huzzah! We've reached the 1s! I remember someone in a previous comment section mentioning that we'd eventually run into a bunch of "find 100 of X" games. Will those be skipped, or compressed into one video?
They are still a few months away (about 16 videos), but yes we'll likely be condensing them into a single video to save everyone from the boredom of 10+ weeks straight of the same game
Hell yeah, more cat content! This seems like a perfect example of a game with a well set scope, they made what they wanted to make at realistic polish and price. Bravo.
Great video! You seem to have found a nice little gem here. 😃 2:00 If we're listening to the actual in-game music here, then chiptune isn't the genre name you want. @@Graeldon Tbh, I'm not sure if there's a precise genre name--there probably is and I just don't know it. I'd probably classify it somewhere in the vicinity of "electronic ambient"?

Any game with a pet that you can’t pet is a crime
100% agree with this!
cats sometimes sound like motorbikes, so it makes sense
How do we know that motorbikes aren't powered by cats?
wow, wasn't expecting the 0 games to end that quick, thought there would be more. Also quite a neat little game to start off with the 1s
Yeah, surprisingly few 0 titled games (New niche discovered???). We'll be int he 1's for a while though, so this was a good way to start them off!
Simple but effective, and the cat is so cute.
Yours too
Panda is cute and demands pets. But then acts offended when you touch her.
So normal cat behavior really.
@@GraeldonPanda is very cute.
About to give up and then you find a cat? Relatable.

We love LEO on this channel
fun fact: the IDs on the character list imply the game is set primarily in California
You know what, that IS a fun fact!

The return of Larry and he has an adorable cat in Leo! Btw I would love to see more of your cat, they seem sweet.
I'm sure they will pop up again at some point! They also appear on my live streams from time to time =)
I'm so happy someone else gave out a shout-out to larry!

Sometimes a game that can be played in short bursts is what you need. Also, thanks for supporting a small indie dev!
I'm gonna give Leo the nickname of "Harry," so that way he follows the naming convention of everyone else in the video.
I actually had "Harry" saved for a fourth character! Female versions would be something like Molly, Dolly, Holly and Polly.
Shoutouts to cats
cute, but bitey.

Awesome mix of foreground graphics and tile-based gameplay.
This one was genuinely good fun to play through - there's a reason I did a few extra runs!
Ah yes. This is what I'm looking for, the gems you end up finding

It's a very well put-together and balanced game! Hopefully I did butcher the pronunciation of their name too badly lol
really like the artstyle they went with
It's very striking, and they made good use of the limited color palette by having color themed zones
1 starting off strong I see!
Certainly a good way to kick off the section! How long will it last though...?
