I was gonna say, it looks like a perfect short mobile game. And with some of the feature's Graeldon mentioned, it would even be worth spending a couple dollars for it on mobile
I LOVE the .Hack games. I'm excited to see what you think about them and have to say. I'm especially looking forward to what you'll have to say about the characters.
I think the problem with .fall is lack of deeper design thinking. You see, when you REALLY think about it - the game is a type of a platformer. So it could've been drastically improved by adding powerups or stage gimmicks like we see in Mario or Donkey Kong Country. Elevators, trampolines, spikes, conveyors, enemies - perhaps powerups like double jump or limited flight... I think with that added variety it could be a great game. I hope developer makes a sequel.
Exact same thing came to mind! The game looks just my speed enough that I wishlisted it to get on a sub $1 sale someday but otherwise it’s a game that has the basic framework that is begging for some variety. Even going beyond the minimal aesthetic & actually giving it some of the similar simplistic personality of a game like Flappy Bird via making the ball a cute mascot sprite & the field of platforms an environmental aesthetic; maybe even making it a simple grassland at the start & changing to cloud, desert, snow, volcanic & castle-styled tilesets as you progress through the levels would be amazing & grant the game that “It Factor” that would make it something you’d come back to more than once despite it’s simplicity. Right now though it’s more of a $0.99 game than it is something worth the $4.99 it asks for due to just how “student project” it looks
The space ship sprites in .G looks a lot like the ones I were given to use, to make a space shooter, for my very first programming project, in college.
I think I know what the hell is going with ".G". This game is a clone of an easter egg game called "닷지(Dodge)" that is in 곰플레이어(idk if it's still in there), which is one of the popular video player(not a video game) in Korea. The name on the steam page even says "닷G(you would read this as 닷지)" in Korean. One of the reviews claims to be the developer and has 41 hour and a half of playtime and the video on the page so I guess they just made it for themselves but put it on the steam for $2 for some reason.
Oh nice, two "endurance" games which are the genres that I like. But sadly both of which shown are.... yeah, this ain't it. .fall has some potential, and I agree about the power-ups and a "climbing" mode. .G seems like a game they wrote in an afternoon, the lack of content shows it. I just noticed, my name gets converted to a numerical notation LOL. You're using a spreadsheet it seems 😂
If it's "5D Chess" on the listing, then that's gonna be a looooooong wait. Most alphanumeric sorting systems sort special characters first, letters second, and numbers third
@@NovaMaster375funnily enough, Steam actually doesn't put number after the letters. So we WILL see 5D chess before the first "A" game, we'll just have to get through a ton of "100", "1000" and "1001" games first, which will take a while
Hey Graeldon, just wanted to say that i found your channel about 2 months ago, and i gotta say, it's pretty underrated! I love your content and the way you review these games, keep up the good work, man. Hope you gain many more subscribers!
Pretty sure he got it from JoshStrifeHays who does these sorts of ratings himself & is rather popular on the gaming side of UA-cam. Not that I'm complaining, tho, since both of them come up with some pretty funny ratings.
.Fall reminds me of the Impossible Game and i used to be OBSESSED with that game. Im loving the double feature in todays video :) So so so excited for whats to come next 😎Keep it up champ.
Is .G really trying to be a bullet hell game? For some reason it reminds me of asteroids. Screen size aside, while there are plenty of games that are at least as good at doing what it does available for free, I don’t think it is entirely without merit? Better than anime-girl-in-zombie-land I would think (at least if you exclude the dance animation at the end)
Just watching what happens in .G makes me wanna just play touhou again, probably start from the first game as well.~ Fun fact: The first touhou game wasn't even a bullet hell game, but more like something similar to Arkanoid.~
@@Graeldonyes! Physical copies are absurdly expensive, but the entire franchise is easy to find online. Touhou 1-6 all require a PC98 emulator to play, though that isn't too hard to set up with a guide.
It's kinda it's own thing. Like Arkanoid but with gravity, you die if the ball hits you, there are bullet hell elements (HARRY UP and turrets), boss fights, and the bricks aren't solid
I've got the UA-cam memberships set up if you'd like to support the channel and get extra perks, and I might look into a ko-fi for one-off donations in the future =)
if any of you watching liked the concept of a space bullet hell game, there's a game called Super Bit Blaster XL that's still pretty basic, but has more polish/power ups. only recommend buying it when it's on sale though
I think .fall would be a little more succesful if it had some stylization instead of simple gray boxes with some light in the background. While some try to strive for a minimalist design, this is too simple and lacks any distincitve elements. It looks more like a game prototype in beta than a full game.
So, apparently the next game is ".hack", potentially of the G.U Last Recode collection. The last several were made by maybe 1 or 2 people, small groups... '.hack' is developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco, Namco having made games like Tekken and mostly games of anime like Naruto or One Piece (and I suppose Pac-Man too). Didn't think Graeldon would hit one of the big companies so soon though.
.Fall looks terrible with its untextured cubes and the sun infront of you, just dragged out of the unity editor. .G appears like a Python game mechanics prototype.
.Fall is clean, but it lacks any kind of personality. It's just... bland. It's created a nice base that could be used for better versions in the future
i’m like 90% sure i know what one of the first games will be once we get to A and i’m really excited for that because i genuinely really like it and i don’t think it’s that well known edit: fuck wait no i don’t it’ll show all the “A(space)…” form titles before any “A(punctuation)…” titles won’t it
